    * updated review Still loving Ipps! The rolls are absolutely ah-may-zinnng. There's a new menu (at least new to me) that's a little pricier than you might expect for the location at the end of a shopping center, think $16-20 entrees. The interior is still kind of dated and a little dreadful. New lights over the booths that are hung so that the light shines directly into your eyes and it feels as if you are preparing for a police questioning. I have discovered that if you order the Stromboli rather than the calzone you won't experience the soggy dough. Just yummy, cheesy goodness. A Stromboli with pepperoni and kalamata olives is as good as it gets.

This place was great! Our server was awesome and attentive, our food was great and the portions were large - each of us took home half our meal. And the garlic rolls are amazing, they even each gave us a few in our box to take home. Great experience. This is my new go-to Italian place.

Matt the bartender was excellent!!!!! My food came out in a jiffy and it was perfect. The owner was on deck and just as pleasant and inviting. I was so hungry. I forgot to take the picture. I dined with a glass of wine and indulged with the chicken Marsala with spinach. It was consistent and the presentation was mouth watering. Great location. Ask for Matt. He is the guy with the accent from the east coast. And a real pleasure to dine with. Bon Appetite!!

If you love fresh and scrumptious Italian cuisine you will find Ippolito's in Alpharetta the place to go. There is an excellent selection of wine and the menu has all the traditional dishes. The garlic rolls served while you study the mouthwatering entrees will disappear as fast as they bring them. Soft, warm and garlicky. The grilled chicken fusilli was al dente with savory mushrooms and chicken. The service was exceptional and attentive. Check it out!

Sooo, I was looking for a good cake bakery that was opened late today (on a Sunday), and this place came up. BUT, from the great reviews I saw ( Thanks Yelp!), I decided to kill two birds and have dessert AND dinner. Based on the reviews, the infamous butter and garlic rolls were a MUST try! Upon arrival you are warmly greeted with the wonderful smell of garlic and olive oil roasting in the kitchen. Once in, we were promptly greeted and seated at our tables. My mouth watered for those rolls, but in waiting, I had the chance to take in the warm and cozy rustic interior. There's also a nice patio outside that would be a great dining spot in the spring time. Once the rolls arrived, we all dove right in, and let me tell you- it's worth the drive. We each ordered something different, and there were no complaints. Collectively, we tried the lasagna, blackened chicken fusilli, chicken torino, and cheese ravioli in an Alfredo sauce. Each of our meals also came with a choice of a Caesar salad or their house salad which was accompanied by their homemade Italian vinaigrette. The food was so good and so fresh that I literally wanted to scrape the plate and savor each morsel, but I tried to leave enough space so that I could sample everything from the appetizer to the dessert- that's next. After such an exquisite meal AND service (our waiter was awesome and fully attentive), I HAD to get dessert because that was the original reason I came here for! A separate dessert menu was brought out, and we needed a few moments to decide. There were quite a few choices compared to most restaurants, but I went with the delectable black and white cake, which will not disappoint! I have attached that picture below. Overall, a great family spot, great food, great service, great everything. For the price, you get a lot of food for your money. So, Enjoy folks!

Stopped by on a recommendation from a friend for lunch. It's on the windward side of 9 and is in the Kroger parking lot. The service was great, free garlic rolls for a starter and the food was amazing. Will definitely be back when craving Italian!

"Non si vive di solo pane". (One does not live by bread alone)- Italian proverb. But I don't know if this proverb takes into consideration Ippolito's garlic rolls.... . Ippolitos is good, Italian comfort food. Not fancy, just heavy, saucy, cheesy, goodness. The flavors here are more in your face than deep, so expect more of a "I can make this at home, but really don't want to work that hard" experience. You WILL get filled up on their garlic rolls if you keep accepting the offers, and portion sizes are respectable, so the dinner price includes your lunch the next day as well. This location is hidden away in the Kroger shopping center, which can't be good for business, but it has been here for a while so most know of it. The service is friendly. They have specials on beer and wine, check when you go in. I was going to give Ippolito's three stars, but while writing this review and thinking about it, i am so wanting to go right now. That must mean i am a fan!

This was pretty good food. Had pizza and lasagna and chocolate moose cake. Not very busy around 6 on Monday night. Service was ok but don't be in a hurry. We had to go ask server for rolls and a few other things. There was only 3 tables of people an each one had a different server. Pizza was not anything special but lasagna was pretty good. Salad, med. Pizza, order of lasagna and piece of cake was around $35. Forgot about room we had to ask for was maybe the best thing. Great dipped in marinara. Also they told us on Monday and Tuesday wine was half off.

I wish I could have gotten to the garlic rolls because and I love good garlic rolls and I hear everyone talk about them, but I ended up walking out before they got to the table. My wife and I walk in to try this place for lunch since they place we really like for Italian food isn't open for lunch. we notice immediately that the menus are disgusting. I went and washed my hands right after I looked through it. The bathrooms weren't much better. they say you can tell a lot about a restaurants cleanliness by their bathroom... they need to put some work into cleaning that place up. The first set up small plates they bring out I have to have the waiter bring me another because it is dirty. The second I get was even dirtier. There was still sauce that was very obvious on the plate and we walked out. I may try another Ippolito's, but I will never go to this one.

First of all, the bread here is the devil! LOL! Highly addictive and delicious! I had the chicken & shrimp cavatelli (I think that's what it's called...) and I was beyond satisfied. I can't wait to return!

It was my boyfriend's birthday, so when his dad called about getting together, he suggested going to Ippolito's for lunch. We'd all been before with good results, so he figured, why not do that again. My boyfriend and I met his dad and step mom there a little after 1 PM and were seated promptly. Our server was Michael and he was attentive throughout the meal, refilling drinks, bringing out extra garlic rolls and giving us extra time to decide on the menu (since we were preoccupied catching up after a vacation he and I had just taken and showing pictures). That day, he and I shared a traditional pizza with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and sausage, and both his dad and stepmom ordered the omelettes they serve for brunch during the weekend. The two omelettes that came out for each of them were huge - they easily could have split one between the both of them and been well fed: they each had a big biscuit, lots and lots of eggs, large seasoned potato wedges, sausage and a side of fresh berries. We shared a medium pizza (the smallest size available), and even that was a little much. It was hot and tasty though, and I enjoyed it. Certainly not the best pizza I've ever eaten, but it's hard to compete with the numerous pizza places here in Atlanta. Overall, Ippolito's was a very good experience: the service was excellent, the food was good, and we all had a fine time. Way to be consistently good Ippolito's.

Average food. Service fine, but not attentive. We had six people and everyone was unimpressed with the dishes. Two ordered chicken and both said it tasted as though it had been frozen and unthawed leaving it tasting poor.

My husband always orders the same thing when we go to an Italian restaurant: Chicken Marsala. I like to try other things, and I really should just follow his lead, since each time we go somewhere, I try his and I get food-envy. I have never been to this location (only been to the one in Norcross) but expected the same as the other. We had to request sauce with the bread (the other location brings it automatically) and had to keep asking for refills on drinks (didn't automatically bring them out). My lasagna was just okay-- not the best not the worst. However, my husband gives the chicken Marsala 5-stars for sure. He said it's the best Marsala that he's ever had (and he's had it from a lot of places). Next time we go, that's what I'll get. This location is on the side of the shopping complex-- it's not on Hwy 9... it's actually on Windward (if you're coming from 400 and are on Windward-- cross over Hwy 9 and it's on the right side in the Kroger plaza). We drove all over trying to find it and finally had to call them because we thought maybe they were out of business.

First off, I have to say that the food was delicious. The garlic knots are warm and to die for, and the pasta dishes are always cooked to perfection. Unfortunately this food doesn't taste as good coming up as it does going down. I have experienced the worst food poisoning I've ever had thanks to Ippolitos. My boyfriend has also gotten food poisoning from this location. I will never come back, ever.

  • Colleen M.

The chicken francese is to die for and so is the antipasti is enough for a meal! The garlic rolls are just stupid addicting. The pizza is authentic and huge and worth every penny. They have a beautiful patio as well. I've never had a bad experience here and always look forward to returning.

Best family style Italian restaurant from Atlanta to New York! My wife and I eat there at least once a week. It's our favorite for visiting friends and family. Nothing in Little Italy (Baltimore) is any better. Service is great and you are always greeted with hot buttery and Parmesan cheese rolls, right out of the oven. Be prepared to get a to go box because the portions are generous. Our favorite is the pasta with meatballs or sausage. Pizza is a lunch favorite also! We go to the one off Windward Parkway in Alpharetta.

We have always gotten consistent service here but the last time we went it was really really great. We told our waiter up front we had just finished hiking and were starving and he was lightening fast! Our drinks and bread basket never got close to empty. Our meals came out quick and were delicious. The prices are reasonable and we often leave with enough for lunch the next day on out to go containers.

Great Italian food. In love with the garlic knot rolls. I had the pasta and meat balls. It was fantastic. Also my partner had veal Parmesan which he said was excellent. Plus fried calamari as an app We ordered a nice bottle of wine at a very reasonable price.

I love this restaurant. The home made garlic rolls are the best. I've never had better marinara sauce or meatballs. There are always leftovers to enjoy the next day. Ask for Norm. He is a terrific server!!

We've visited this location many times over the years, but after tonight, we won't be returning. It's been awhile since our last visit and it seems they have drastically changed their prices. I called in for take out without checking the menu, since I knew our order, and was floored to see that a simple tortellini with pesto sauce and added meatballs was $19.40! I thought there had to be a mistake so I politely asked the waitress if she could double check the price. She seemed to get defensive and asked if I needed the manager. I said "can't we just check the menu?" Sure enough it was $12.95 for the plain pasta alone plus an extra charge for "special sauce" and the added meatballs. To make the situation worse, the meatballs I ordered for my Pesto dish were served separately in a tomato sauce. $20 freaking dollars for a simple dish and they couldn't even get it right. The food was average, the quality definitely has gone down over the years. With so much competition in the area, I'm not sure how this location is staying open with such outrageous prices and mediocre food.

Been years since we tried Ippolitos we were actually really excited....I .was very disappointed--the place is dirty. Smells dirty--Menus were filthy--found hair in my salad. It was nothing like it was years back on Holcomb Bridge Road. Dirty and very bland.

The food is okay but the desserts and garlic rolls are the highlight. When I go I just get salad to go with the complimentary basket of rolls. They're the best rolls I've ever had, especially when dipped in marinara sauce. Those rolls are so good I keep talking about them. As for the desserts, the tiramisu, chocolate mousse cake, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake and Oreo cookies and cream cake are just too delectable. Ippolito's is a family friendly restaurant with good service and semi monster portioned sized entrees. You'll probably leave with a doggy bag. There are several locations in the metro area. Please visit ippolitos.net for more information. If you go, don't shortchange yourself, have dessert!

This is easily mine and my wife's favorite Italian place in the area. Everything I have tried on the menu has been a slam dunk, most notably something I don't associate with Italy, pork chops. Super thick and yet juicy and delicious. The Lasagna is incredible, sausage and peppers, veal parmesan, its making me hungry! The garlic rolls they bring out early are to die for but you will fill up on them if you aren't careful! And if you still somehow have room, they have huge slices of cake for dessert.

  • Michelle K.

ok, so I'm not sure where to start on this one. This is a small place with tons of flavor. I love the decor, I love the staff, I love the food, and the dessert is amazing! Not to mention the rolls... I dream about these things. They are even better with marinara. The salads are wonderful. I've had the pizza, chicken parmesean, lasagna, baked ziti, and so much more. Never have I been disappointed. This place is great for groups and do take reservations.

The food is always very good, and a good value. Went there for lunch recently. They didn't serve more than a dozen people the whole time we were there, and that is the problem. You can't get in and out of there in less than an hour for lunch. No good if you work and are on a time schedule. Service was slow, with no management present.

    (2)
  • Brad B.

Decor is pretty dated. Bread is excellent but salad and entrees didn't really impress. Good place for kids.

  • Paul H.

Rolls are very good, but the food is decent but flavor wise is just not very complex. The sauces don't have a lot of depth, but if you go there with the understanding this will not be luxury dining and just regular dinner out then it's fine. Drinks are good and the desserts come from Alpine Bakery. Coconut pie was great. Service is awesome and portions large.

    (3)
  • Wren U.

One of the best things about this place is the consistency. We can eat at any of their locations and the food and service is always good and on point. The rolls they bring out are huge, as are the portions, so share or be prepared to have lunch for the next day. I usually get the stuffed shells and they even have crab leg specials some nights. They have a yummy white chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sauce that is truly my favorite part of any meal here, even though we often have to get it to go to give our tummies time for more room.

    (3)
  • Thomas B.

Good lunch spot but don't show up with a partial party. They will only sit you when everyone in your party is present. I understand this but would rather sit and wait with a drink rather than stand in the front watching everyone eat. That said I do like the Italian food and speedy service. Will go back for lunch again soon.

  • Alexandra G.

So the gnocci is awesome. I love that you can mix and match pastas to sauces. But the egg parm is dry and you can tell it has been frozen... gross. And the chicken is the same way. the pasta here is the only good thing and for an entire menu to only have pasta as the thing that holds it up.... sad.

  • Lee G.

They have a "Hard Times" menu now. At first I thought this was because of the economy. Now I'm starting to think it is Ippy's that has fallen on the hard times. The big lunch crowds are just gone from this place. The quality of the food has gone downhill a bit over the years. I can't exactly put my finger on it, they just don't seem quite with it. The bread doesn't do it for me anymore either. Not as fresh, not enough oil, or something else. That hard times menu has slightly smaller portions, better prices and includes a drink I believe. Might be worth checking out. Otherwise, Ippy's is losing their touch. That's too bad.

    (3)
  • Charles M.

Great atmosphere and vibe here. The portions are certainly enough to fill you up and you will most likely take some home with you. The desserts come from one of my favorite local bakeries - Alpine Bakery.

Walking into Ippolito's feels like you've transported yourself back to the 90s, largely because the restaurant doesn't look like it's been remodeled since about then. The decor, menus, ambiance, and vibe all feel really dated. Not in a tacky way, really...just in a "Oh...this is what I remember restaurants looking like 15 years ago" way. The place was packed and hopping. Right after we walked in, they told the 2 families after us that it would be a 20 minute wait. Luckily, we got right in and were seated promptly. That was the only thing that happened quickly the rest of the night, as it took them quite a while to bring our food with each course. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it seemed like all of our food was prepared from scratch in the kitchen and not from a frozen batch. Like so many others have commented, the free garlic rolls they bring you are out of this frickin' world. They melt in your mouth and are super tasty with crumbled parmesan and butter. We should have eaten only 1 each, but ended up eating about 3 each before the salads arrived. The salads were your basic, run of the mill variety with iceberg lettuce oil-based dressing and crutons. None of us ate all of our salads, given how many rolls we ate to start. The entrees are of a good size without being way too much. I had the chicken parmesan and thought it was really delicious. The spaghetti that came with it was just average to so-so. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and wasn't all that wild about it. She said it had a slight spiciness to it, which she wasn't used to, but she ate most of it. Our daughter had the cheese ravioli off the kid's menu and they appeared to be hand-made, which was quite impressive. She didn't care for it, but we dug into it and thought it was really good, even if it wasn't all that kid-friendly. I guess when they're used to Chef Boyardee, it's hard getting them to venture out to more refined tastes and textures. When it came time to order dessert, we decided to split a single slice of the Reese's peanut butter cup pie. When it arrived, it was a full quarter of the pie and about 4 inches high with whipped cream. It was so delicious and amazingly rich. I recall feeling guilty about ingesting 100 calories with each spoonful and feeling the weight of the understanding that I would pay for it all later. I did. The whole next day had me feeling like a blob that needed to hit the gym for 2 hours just to return to where I was before I walked into Ippolito's. Overall, this was a pretty decent showing of Italian food in a town that is woefully short on good Italian options. We may come back someday to try some other items on the menu. It wasn't rock your world amazing, but definitely good enough to satisfy your craving for Italian. If you're trying to decide between Olive Garden, Romano's and this, I'd pick this our of the three options...but just by a hair.

I don't understand how so many people gave this restaurant more than 1 star! My husband and I went there last night and the service was great, everyone was friendly but we are never going back. On the inside, it's such a cute Italian looking restaurant but the music really put me off, too. I was hoping for some old Sinatra or something along those lines but they were playing country and a mix tape of Bob Marley? Hmmm. The food was disgusting. Even the complimentary rolls were drenched in garlic sauce and soggy. I ordered the salmon and it tasted VERY fishy and rubbery. I couldn't even finish it. My husband ordered a shrimp and chicken dish and it was all very bland, the chicken tasted frozen and the pasta was doughy. We were so disappointed that we spent all that money on terrible food when we could have gone to Papapdeaux for the same amount and had a MUCH better evening. Do not waste your money, it is definitely NOT WORTH IT.

I've been here twice and really enjoyed their food. I had the chicken parmesan and it was tasty. The garlic rolls are also tasty and quite filling. The ambiance is nice, service was good, and food is reasonably priced for the portion size. Will go again when I'm in the mood for good Italian food.

recommended by our host, we probably wouldn't have 'found' this Italian family gem..... Good value and rich Italian dishes. Very large portions (don't leave without getting some cheesecake) so you will likely spend the rest of your visit on the hotel treadmill.

I love Ippolito's. I honestly can say that I have never had a bad meal at any of their restaurants. I wish I would be more adventurous with the menu, but I am so hooked on their lasagna that I seem to order it every time I come there. And their garlic rolls are to die for. Fresh, hot and soooo bad for you! We usually do take-out because after a big meal like this, you just want to lay around at home in your pj's and watch TV. Friendly staff, great food and reasonable price. I am glad this Italian restaurant is just down the road from me.

Reasonable value for the money. The Ippolitos chain is more or less an area institution and offers good family dining for around $12-$16/person, or less if there for pizza. All food is pretty good and portions are large. You have to start with the 10,000 calorie butter garlic soup with dumplings and parmesan...wait...I mean garlic rolls. I was just about to write that the food can be a little rich but perhaps it just seems that way because I go for the rolls like its a marshmallow eating contest at a youth summer camp. Most entrees are good and pizza is pretty good as well. The deserts have left me feeling a little ill more than once so I tend to stay away from those but I like all the standards and don't the need to get too adventurous. We've been to the Abernathy, Holcomb Bridge Rd, and Hwy 9 / Windward Pky locations. I rate them all the same.

I've come here several times now with coworkers on Fridays, and it has yet to disappoint. The ambiance is nice, being dimly lit overall but still visible with table lighting, and the decor makes it feel genuinely Italian. The service is good too, although the food takes a bit to make (for a reason). As for the food, I've had the traditional pizza, no onions several times and it's been great every time, always filling. The stromboli a coworker had that I tried once was also great. However, I wouldn't particularly recommend their sandwiches, at least not the chicken Parmesan. It's pretty small and the bread was pretty hard the one time I had it. If I based it on the pizza or stromboli alone, I'd give them a 5 though.

Decent Italian food. I have had better, but given the options in Atlanta, this is pretty good. The calamari is good and their pizza is good. Chicken parm was good too.

This restaurant managed to ruin a major party that my family planned for my sister. We made arrangements with the management for a party on Labor Dat, Sept 3. The manager took the information and told us in person that they would be open and ready for us. We get to the restaurant at 7:00 for the 7:30 party and find a sign in the window that they are closed for Labor Day. They never called us so we had to make emergency plans somewhere else. Turns out the entire chain decided to close for Labor Day. I guess honoring standing commitments and reservations was not part of their business model. My family was very happy with this place until now but will never return and are extremely mad and upset. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I ate here for the first time last night and while the meal started out pretty good, the entree's were pretty lack luster. First, the good: - The service. Our server was prompt, courteous and quick with a refill. - The rolls. The highlight of our meal. The rolls were soft, covered in cheese, and garlicky. - The Caesar salad was served on a cold plate! This is a huge one for me. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a cold salad is brought to the table on a warm plate. My wife pokes fun at me because one of the first things I do when a salad is brought to the table is touch the plate. Cold food = Cold plate, people! The "not so good" - Entree's. I had the Whole Wheat Penne with Alfredo sauce and my wife had the chicken picatta. My pasta smelled like it was cooked in dirty water and unfortunately, the smell carried over to the taste. The sauce itself was bland and I had to add quite a few shakes of red pepper flakes, Parmesan cheese, and pepper before it was acceptable. (Disclaimer: I have since decided to stop getting alfredo at restaurants as it always lacks flavor, so this is not an issue solely with this establishment). My wife loves chicken picatta and if she sees it on a menu, odds are that is what she is going to get. However; this chicken picatta left her perplexed. She loves the lemon flavor in chicken picatta; however, in this instance the lemon was entirely too strong, and that was all she could taste. All in all, we were happy to try a new restaurant. We decided we would give it another chance but neither of us would repeat our meal options. I will be sure to update when the time comes.

I can't seem to find a bad Italian place in the Atlanta area. Went to Ippolito's with some friends for dinner one night. They had a coupon so it did lesson some of the blow. The food wasn't expensive but we ordered a lot of food. They start by giving you these amazing garlic rolls while you wait for your food. They have all of the basics on the menu from pizza and pasta. Food was great but honestly just your average Italian entrees. Nothing fancy or special. What I will say is you get a lot of food for your money. I think I had dinner at the restaurant, lunch the next day and dinner the following night all off of one entree. All in all great Italian place. I know there are a few in the area but it is way better than a certain national chain...

Menu is good. The portions here are plentiful and will not go away hungry. Not the best I've had for Italian, but for Alpharetta, its decent. After being promptly seated, we had waited about 15 minutes to get our order in. It wasn't busy, so they had forgotten us somewhere. We got our waters and wine. The guy that got us the waters wasn't our server apparently. Our server finally arrived and got our adult beverages. Asking, "Did you purchase the whole bottle?" He mentioned that there was a Monday special whole bottle $12, vs. the normal $6 per glass. Yea, ummm, bottle please garcon. He took the half-drank glass and came back with a sealed full bottle, charging us just the bottle. He then took our food orders as normal. Our warm soft bread came out first, draped with parmesan cheese and and olive oil. Wasn't italian bread that came out, instead like a dinner roll. Still was good. I passed on the insalata as I don't eat salad. We ordered the Eggplant Rolentini to start. Its breaded, fried eggplant rolled up with a ricotta with spinach inside. Topped with gravy and mozz. Tasted like I was eating eggplant parm, though still tasty. My entree was shrimp gnocchi with spinach in marinara. It wasn't anything to brag about. The gnocchi's didn't taste freshly made, almost frozen and they just boiled them. That's something I can do at home. The shrimp was a medium size, had about 7 pieces on the plate. The sauteed spinach was ok, was a lush green, soft. The gravy was good, hearty chunks of tomato. Taste of garlic was present, but not overpowering which is good. Garlic is overrated to me. I did have to take mine home. Italian food is alot of carbs and I hit the wall half way through my entree. Our waiter was slender black fellow, didn;t catch his name, but he was really accommodating. He was crackin funny jokes and keepin it light. Good service post initial neglect (before we got the waiter). Overall, its good Italian food, but just that....good. Not great.

A college friend of mine was in town for his daughter's soccer tournament, and we needed to find a restaurant close to their hotel in Alpharetta. I'd never been to Ippolito's, but the Yelp reviews looked good, so we gave it a try. We started with cocktails in the bar... Friendly service and great drinks. When we got to our table, the waitress brought out garlicky, buttery rolls sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and a marinara dipping sauce. Yum!!! I got the veal picatta, my wife got the manicotti, and my son got the chicken gorgonzola. All our dishes were perfect, and our friends raved about theirs also. Desserts were HUGE! Service was phenomenal, with wait staff there when you needed them and in the background when you didn't.

This place continues to deliver good food and friendly staff. The place is starting to feel its' age though, and the food is not really as good as it once was. They have (had) a great outdoor patio area that is never used anymore, which is kind of a bummer considering how nice the weather is now. I hate to say this, but it just feels like its' losing its' luster faster than maybe it should be. Lunch used to be REALLY busy with lots of corporate types, now it's tennis moms and a table of grandmas here and there. Don't get me wrong - the pepe appetizer is to die for, and they still have the best marinara to be found. It just seems to me that there are better places to go that offer healthier food, better food and nicer decor for less money.

My family and I decided to dine here last night for two family members birthday. We have been here a few times and had take-out a few times. Let me state for the record i work in the restaurant industry. We came in and the hostess was very sweet and greeted us nicely. We sat at our table and our server didn't come by for a few minutes and when he did he acted like he did not want to be there. He set the mood for the night. While taking our order he could care less and wouldn't even make eye contact. Our food was very good. We asked him for dessert...the cannoli (bc that's what we got last time for a birthday and it was really good! Decorated with choc chips and whip) he brought a plain cannoli that looked like he just threw it on a side plate. No choc chips no whip. I wish I could post a pic of it. He sat it on the table and walked away. They only time he was "nice" was when he picked up our check which was $85.00 and he had a $20 tip in it. Hope that would make him be more pleasant for his other tables. IF we visit again and he is our server I will kindly walk away.

I went to Ippolito's for the first time about two weeks ago. I liked the ambiance as soon as I walked in - dimly lit so you definitely get the Italian mood, but also casual because not many people are fancily dressed. Plus, there's a full service bar straight ahead from the main entrance that also livens the place up. The service was great - very friendly, prompt servers. I thought the rolls had a little too much parmesan cheese (and before you call me weak, I like A LOT of cheese, but this was like witnessing a roll caught in a snow storm of parmesan cheese). The cool thing is that I just used the roll's excess cheese to throw on my pasta, so that was a little bit more convenient than using the shaker (and a little bit messier). My dish was AWESOME! I ordered my favorite thing ever: chicken in vodka sauce. It was served on top of tender rigatoni with sliced italian sausage and the sauce was bold, yet not too overpowering - the right balance of creaminess and heat from the vodka. I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon to pair with this dish and that pretty much made my night - great rolls, great service, great food, and great wine.

I have two words for you: Garlic Rolls. They are undeniably the best of any Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food at Ipps is excellent, and portions are large. It's a tad on the pricey side for lunch, as the least expensive items are $8+ and they don't come with any sides (salad, etc.) I do think the price helps make up for the free rolls, though and they are WAY worth it. They cook to order and it's always fresh, so it's not super-speedy, but reasonable for what you get. Very good, authentic food. Worth the trip for sure.

I hate to be the reviewer who bucks the trend, but I gotta say... Ippolito's just doesn't do it for me. Not that it's *bad*, mind you. It's just mind-blowingly average. The food is ok, but not great. The service is typical. I think their rolls are a great concept, but they could be much better in execution. I'll go to Ipps if I'm with someone who wants to go, but I'll pick a different Italian place if it's up to me.

Quite possibly....no, scratch that....I'm certain living up in NJ has skewed my expectations of Italian restaurants, even though I'm a native Alpharettan. Having said this, Ippolitos was always our go-to for good Italian, and it still is when I'm in town. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, the portions are gargantuan, and the garlic rolls are good enough to get a few refills of the basket. Don't even bother with the diet here, honey. Just pull up a chair, tuck in your napkin in, and prepare to stink of garlic for a few days. Just make sure your date has some so it's all-even.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
