Great food, great bands, but the volume is too loud! We checked the dB level and the peak registered over 110 (with 110 as max) come on, this is Windermere! The target market is over 40 with disposable income, not 20! We could not even order a drink without screaming at the waitress! Wish we routinely spent our money here, but can't bring ourselves to it, even though it's only 2 miles from our house!!

Service was good. Decor is very blah for Windermere. Looks like they ran out of money in middle of build out. Doesn't feel like you are someplace special. Seats at bar are the cheapest hardest seats in a restaurant/bar in the area. We sat at bar and had a steak flat bread of some sort. It was good, not great. Stick with Eddie V's, Roccos, Vines etc...

We come here about once a month. The service is ok. If they are really busy, it runs on the slow side. We have done brunch, lunch and dinner. Food is always good. My favorite is the shrimp and chicken salad. So good! The bartenders do a good job with the drinks. Definitely recommend. It's a loud place and can get pretty crowded. Prices are typical for this area. If you're a big group, I recommend a reservation. The reception in the restaurant is not so great. You'll have to step out for calls.

I give this restaurant a four star rating because of the atmosphere and the good food but if I was grading it on our server it would be more of a two or three he was very kind but wasn't observant what so ever. We were there for about an hour and even though he stopped by our table a few times he never once refilled out waters. Also just seemed very insincere. I'm hoping it was just an off moment because he had a great personality. Food was great and we loved the ambiance of the place.

Nice staff, food I've tried ok, but the number of bar stools is way too many for the space! I live less than a mile away but will not be a regular.

Service was awful. Waiter disappeared for significant amounts of time. When I tried to order dessert at 10:00 I was told, "kitchen is closed!" Don't go during big games..you won't get the service you deserve.

We have been here at least 10 times since they've opened. It;s always a fun time meeting the locals of Windermere and Dr. Phillips. The food is comparable to their other locations across Orlando (really tasty) and the service is on point every time as well. With so many choices in the area, it's nice to have something away from the touristy areas for the locals to come to. It's like an upscale cheers with wine and great food.

Great drinks, great service and great atmosphere. Dexters is new to Windermere and they're doing a great job keeping up to speed. Very fast service and very attentive. Sweet potato fries are amazing and I loved the cucumber martini! I definitely will be back.

I was so disappointed on my last visit to Dexters. It was a beautiful evening and my friends and I decided to sit outdoors, only to be fumigated buy a table where the individuals were smoking. I was under the impression that Dexter's was a smoke free environment but I guess I was wrong. I don't think I will return again.

I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews of this location. My friends and I stopped in for a bite to eat for Sunday Brunch on November 9th. We did make reservations prior, and I recommend doing so. There were already a lot of people when we got there at 11 A.M., and there were even more when we left around 12:30 P.M. I got the Blackened Mahi with Cheesy Pepper Jack Grits. The fish was cooked very nicely. It was a good portion size, so I ended up having some leftovers. My husband tried their Cinnamon French Toast Bread Pudding, and he said it was the best thing he's had in a while. Their mimosas are pretty reasonably priced. The service was pretty good, especially considering we had a party of eight. I'm not familiar with the other Dexter's locations, but I can say I'll definitely be back to this location.

The food here is good, usually stop by when I'm in Orlando. This is not the cute location I was looking for, there's another Dexter's around this area whose location I prefer, but the food was still just as good. I recommend their breakfast.

This place was a place I wanted to try since it looked nice and I thought that this could be a place where a great chef would be. We got there at around 8pm. The hosts were welcoming and nice. The server was very friendly, as we were ready to order the 3 first dishes that I picked were out. I thought that was kind of a turn off and a little disappointed especially at 8pm. The food was ok but nothing made me want to comeback. Sorry:-/

I ventured out to try the separate menu at this Dexter's, which offers a bougier supplemental menu to the standard Dexter's fare--and I'm glad I did. Though more expensive, with various steaks and other options, I zeroed in on a pan-seared chicken breast (a generous portion), which came with honeyed haricots verts and was served with a mustard cream sauce. The chicken, which was perfectly cooked--juicy and pretty tender--was served atop a bacon--yes, bacon--risotto. The risotto was also cooked really well and the bacon flavor was savory and a nice balance to the mustard cream sauce. The service was also really good--compliments to Brittany, who know the menu well and was very attentive. Overall, a nice ambiance and pleasant dining experience.

My wife and I stopped in because we enjoy the dexters in winter park and were pleased to have the same good experience. Had good service, good food, and a nice environment. This is a place that is good for families and also for a parents nite out. Finally getting more good non-Disney restaurants on this side of town.

Always loved the Thornton Park & Winter Park Dex's but now we have this on the SW side & it's every bit as good! Love the fave go to sandwich "Dexters Special" but the Pasta Shells w/chicken is a must. The staff is friendly/fun & bartender Karalyn makes the best drinks & always has a smile. Welcome to the neighborhood Dexter's glad your here!

Much larger than other Dexter's, yet still packed. Ordered take out and had to wait 10 extra minutes, but they gave me a free drink at the bar while waiting. The food is worth the wait. Corsican salad and Key West Mahi sandwich are my faves.

Horrible service. We waited forever to get a server to even come over to our table. Scratch this establishment off of my list.

We were happy to hear that a Dexter ' s was opening near Windermere. Years ago I worked in Winter Park, and we had enjoyed Dexter ' s there several times. We finally got the chance to go there for lunch and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was more upscale, but we thought the prices were quite reasonable. The service was friendly and efficient. The sandwiches we ordered were all excellent and not just run of the mill. They came with very fresh and varied salads. This was all wonderful but they were also playing great background music - 80 ' rock. This really just tipped the scales for us. We will definitely be going back often!

So, we went for a late brunch. The hostess, who was not very welcoming, showed us to our table, dropped (literally) the menus and silverware on the table and walked away. No "Enjoy your meal" or "Your server will be right with you". Nothing. A server stopped by after a few minutes. She was not the server for our table but she helped us because they weren't sure where our server was (she showed up about a minute later). We ordered one of each type of Bloody Mary which were both tasty but one was definitely not worth $2 extra. We ordered the fried chicken with biscuits and gravy. They were out of that dish and our second choice the blackened shrimp and grits (yes we were splitting a dish, and yes I know that is the bane of every servers' existence but we couldn't take any leftovers since we weren't going home), so third choice it was! Eggs Benedict. It was an interesting take on the traditional: poached eggs atop tomatoes, sliced turkey deli meat and half a hoagie roll with hollandaise sauce and "potato pancakes" which looked more like flattened tater tots but were better than expected. Overall, a decent dish but nothing ground breaking. The server was attentive and pleasant, clearing plates as needed to keep the table clutter free. Payment was quick and easy and the aforementioned hostess gave us a nice (no really) "Thank you. Enjoy the rest of your day." We'll give it another try but probably for dinner.

Went in a Thursday and it was half full. We enjoyed the food and the prices were fair. The drink specials for ladies night were good and we enjoyed ourselves. Nice change to the Sand Lake options and view.

Dollar Burgers! Sold! I am pretty much a burger girl on any given day of the week. On Tuesday evenings at this lovely location from 5pm to Close, you have the opportunity to divulge in burgers for $1.00. The toppings to include on the burger are additional. So regular toppings are .50 cents, and what is considered premium toppings is .75 cents. I decided to top my burger with Jack Pepper Cheese and Sauteed Onions, which were considered regular toppings. For my premium topping I ordered Avocado. The total price for my Burger.....$2.75. The deliciousness factor of my burger....made to Burger Perfection. When I walked in to Dexter's in the Windermere location I was pretty impressed with the ambiance it was very spacious and nicely decorated. The place was pretty packed, but surprisingly so I was seated right away. The option of outdoor seating is available. Yes a major plus is that there is plenty of parking. The staff was friendly and I did not have to wait long for my food. Oh and how could I forget to mention the delicious egg rolls that I ordered as an appetizer. I also know that Dexter's has a reputation of their Brunch, so I will be back.....and come to find out Unlimited Mimosa's are 12.95 on Saturdays and Sundays for Brunch from 10am to 3pm. I am looking forward to trying the variety of options they have on their menu. Overall, my experience was a pleasant and positive and a place that feeds my craving for burgers! Winning!

Came on a girls night for good drink specials. On Monday they have happy hour all day long plus $10 off bottles of wine. Chose the Blueberry Basil martini, which was really good. Then as a group got the sauvignon blanc. I ordered the duck sandwich which was very good but my side Caesar salad was disgusting. First there was a hair in it, I didn't complain. But the dressing was just awful it tasted spoiled and not like Caesar just nasty mayonnaise. So I just didn't eat it. We ordered the blue cheese & steak flat bread- this was very good. Someone ordered the crab cakes, salmon salad, and something else, they were all pretty good too. I have been to the Lake Mary Dexter's once on a night where they had live music, at this time the drinks were very pricey but the atmosphere was much better. This location was boring and the hostess and our server were not so friendly.

Really disappointed with the food at Dexters. 4 of us at the table. And we all did not finish our meals. Everyone just picked at the food. All of the food was greasy and heavy. The menu is all over the place. I really wanted to love the food. The restaurant was packed. Our reservation helped get us a table promptly. I think most people were there for the $1 Burger special. Service was great. Fast. Attentive.

A- for location and ambience. I sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the sunset and nice evening weather. Live music was happening inside but we were able to hear it outside at a low, yet audible level. It was some lady singing various popular songs. The minus is because it took me a little while to find Dexter's among all the shops, and such, in the Grove plaza. C+ for the most important part, the food. I felt the menu to be more lunch than dinner. It was mostly sandwiches, flat breads, salads, and small plates. The food was decent but nothing spectacular. I would go back again; during happy hour for drinks as the two martinis I tried were good (blueberry basil and marilyn), or for lunch.

Never again. After going at least three additional times to my first review, the service became worse and worse. So much so that when we went a couple of weeks ago, we had NO service. We were sat by the manager and after five+ minutes we hadn't seen our waiter. So I went back up to the host stand where the manager was and told him. He came by took our drink and food orders and we received our drinks. He mentioned that he let our waiter know about our orders and was off. We never got refills on our drinks. I took our drinks up to the bar for refills and let them know that I had no idea who our server was. Our food was brought out and it was wrong. The manager took it back and supposedly remade it himself. After we got our food, nothing. I, once again, had to track down the manager for our bill. And he promptly brought that, along with a 'free mimosa' coupon and a 'free appetizer' for next time (as long as the appetizer didn't have lobster in it - yep.) Well, there will not be a next time. That is completely unacceptable service. The food is okay, which is the ONLY reason for two stars. So completely disappointed in a place we thought we'd frequent.

So my friends and I went here for a late Sunday brunch this week. This was my first trip to this location, but I have also been to the Dexter's in Thornton Park. People love this place and I have so many friends who have raved about it. Maybe I just order badly? So, let's start with the location. I like this location over the Thornton Park location. This one is newer, cleaner, and roomier. Perhaps it was because we came so late, but we were seated right away and there was plenty of space. The other location was very crowded and we had to wait out in the hot sun. One of the reasons I think Dexter's is so popular for weekend brunch is the Mimosas and I must tell you this is my favorite thing about Dexter's. They have a variety of flavors including orange, pineapple, cranberry, and mango for only $2.95. You can get a double for $3.95. It's a great deal. The reason I am giving Dexter's 3 stars is because the two times I have been I was less than impressed with the food. That being said I have only ordered off the brunch menu, so I definitely haven't written the place off yet. The first time I came I had a frittata which was beyond bland. This time I ordered the make your own omelet. I ordered it with smoked ham, Colby, and Andouille sausage. It was good, but not exceptional. The best thing on my plate was the potatoes. They called them potato pancakes. I call them hashbrowns. You know how they have the hashbrowns at places like Hardee's that are the size of quarters. Then McDonald's has massive hashbrowns. These were cool. They were chicken nugget size hashbrowns and they were delicious! Overall, I like Dexter's and I won't say no if someone wants to go, but it has yet to completely win my heart.

The ambiance is very nice, specially the bar area with TVs. The food is what really brought me back to this place as they have a great variety on their menu from a delicious Ahi Tuna, Flat Bread to a juicy Burger. The place is great to meet friends, happy hour after work and to enjoy some live music during selected nights. Parking is not an issue, they have valet parking available or you can choose to self parking anywhere in the plaza parking lot.

This is the nicest interior of any Dexter's location, bright and cheery. The dining room and bar are one area, which works well for the dining room, but makes the bar someplace that isn't very cozy to hang out in. Dexter's menu has a great assortment of salads, sandwiches, and small plates. I'm particularly fond of the Rustic Cast Iron Skillet Salad, a delicious blend of oven dried tomatoes, grilled asparagus, artichoke hearts, rosemary roasted potatoes, feta cheese chunks and mixed greens. Ask for the lemon dill dijon dressing on the side, as it doesn't take much. The rosemary potatoes on this dish are particularly delicious. Service is friendly and quick; it's easy to get in and out for lunch in under an hour.

I've given this place 4 tries before this rating. It honestly should be 2 stars, but I'm still holding onto some hope that it can improve. I want to like this place so much...but I just don't. The location is great, only about a mile from my house, the atmosphere is wonderful - but the food is just forgetful. Last time I ordered the Grouper w/ wild mushroom risotto. It sounded fantastic and just what I was in the mood for. However when it came, I got like some end piece of grouper (which could of been Tilapia, because it didn't look like Grouper or taste like Grouper) but I won't go as far to make that accusation, and the risotto was just ok and really salty. The house salad was good though. Also, for dinner there wasn't one appetizer under $11. I don't mind paying $25 for a piece of (suspect) grouper but for a casual dinner, they should lower the appetizer prices. I remember one time I did order the short ribs, and they were really good. I didn't see them on the menu this time though, but I could of just missed it. But don't take my word for it, give this place a shot. It could just be me, but judging by the empty dining room on a Saturday night and the other reviews, I don't think so. This place should hire a new chef to win back the community.

Brunch here is incredible. The chicken and waffles are on point, and so are the Bloody Mary's. I am also a fan of the small plates offered during happy hour ($5-7 and decently sized). Try the Greek lamb sliders or the buffalo chicken flatbread with celery and feta ranch. Yum!

This place is always on point, whether you come for their brunch (happy hour mimosas and Bloody Marys?? I'm in!!) lunch or dinner. Hosted a brunch party there once and the staff was attentive and everyone's order came out to perfection. Love all their dinner entrees from the quesadilla of the day, sandwiches, and the shrimp and chicken salad with blue cheese crumbles. Nice ambience inside and out, casual and relaxed. We love this place and the kids love the affordable priced kids pasta, hamburgers and more.

I had a really bad taste in my mouths after visiting this place. We came to have a good time, but have been over charged for the drinks a couple dollars. We've called a manager and she didn't adjust a price that was in the menu and said they don't have a button for it in they computer , well ... how is it my problem ?!?????!!! Customers beware !

This restaurant experience started at mediocre and devolved into misery. I went to dinner with ten other family members at what I anticipated was a semi-trendy restaurant. Our waiter was excellent, and I give them credit for that. He was personable and helpful. The food was even decent. But, let me tell you, my friends...at 9:00 the band from hell started playing. Not only was this band off-pitch, they played at the same decibel level as a jackhammer in an aluminum room. To add insult to injury, they dimmed the lights to almost blackness. Truthfully, it felt like being in a Vulcan mind meld with David Hasselhoff in the dark being forced to listen to music as torture. To give you a taste of the misery, our ears we still bleeding when we walked to the car. Further, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, our lovely grandmothers couldn't see to sign their checks. Although most of our food was tasty, my sister-in-law's meal tasted like urine-marinated dog food. And that is speaking kindly. All in all, if you're looking for a place to dance with sweaty middle-aged men in bro tanks until 3 AM, this is your place. If you prefer a more enjoyable experience, might I suggest a Fudruckers or even a Houlihan's. In conclusion, we will not be back. I recommend you avoid this place like West Africa during the Ebola outbreak. Cheers!

Egh. Saw the recommendation in the Orlando Sentinel and while visiting the area, thought I'd give it a try. Miss miss miss. I got duck sandwich and $1 burger (it's a frozen patty, extras are.50, didn't expect much). The duck sandwich was pretty good with the grilled onions. The calamari that we ordered for an appetizer: A+ for presentation D for taste. It wasn't seasoned and just wasn't good. At. All. I think Dexters has found a goldmine in its locations and thus lacks elsewhere. I won't be back

Came for brunch on my birthday because a friend told me about their 10$ unlimited mimosa's. Went with a group of 4 mid-morning and were seated right away. Lovely out door seating area, and the inside is quite large as well. All 4 of us got the unlimited Mimosa's and our waitress kept them coming for the duration of our meal. (Mango Mimosa is delicious!!). Food was good, nothing too special, however I would definitely go back. I believe they also have 1$ burgers on Tuesdays too!

Eggplant Napoleon was such a relief over my recent Olive Garden eggplant experience. (O.G.should take heed). Generous serving of crunchy coated eggplant served with melted cheeses and an acid neutral marinara sauce. Outdoor service was great, will be back!

The service here was amazing. So good, I actually remembered her name (Tia, I mean, I would assume that's the spelling, but I could be wrong). She may have been the best waitress ever. She was sweet, attentive, and kept refilling our drinks. We were in one of the farthest tables from the door on the outside patio too. Let me backtrack. The restaurant is really new and really nice. Clean, modern design. We chose to sit outside because the patio is shady and has a nice view of the little grassy area and other businesses around. The food was really good! I ordered the rustic skilled salad - which was really fresh and a great idea. I added shrimp as well, which you must do as they are seasoned really well and very tasty. I love the addition of grilled veggies to a salad - the onions and oven roasted tomatoes were my favorite. And they don't mix it together too crazy so you are free to keep some things (like the potatoes for me) off to the side. My husband got a sandwich with mini potato pancakes (a brunch item, and they are SOOOO good) - their sandwiches have the option of being pressed, which made it event more yummy. This is definitely a great little sandwich/salad spot, and perfect for Sunday brunch.

first time at this location. probably last time, as well. Although our bottle of wine was enjoyable (Neil Ellis Left Bank), the food (and resolution of said food's quality) should not have been brought to our table. Tuna Stack had stale, crunchy - not properly sticky - rice and burnt bread on our other starter. Lettuce Wraps were really the only thing that should have left that kitchen. When we brought it to our server's attention, she only nodded with "I'll be sure & tell the chef". I guess the "How is everything?" was rhetorical.. I think I'll return to my Winter Park & Thornton Park locations until service makes note of the guests' enjoyment levels at the Grove..

I'd heard about Dexter's from friends that visit the Winter Park location, so I was happy to try it myself when a closer-to-me location opened up in Windermere! I was able to visit for a Sunday night dinner a couple weeks ago with friends. It was busy, but not overly crowded. We were seated quickly. The restaurant itself is very light and bright, with a clean and modern look. There was a nice bar area as well as some outdoor seating. Food wise, I had the Key West Mahi Sandwich, which was reasonably priced and very good. It was served on a pretzel bun which was fantastic. The only complaint, which is common with fish sandwiches is the fish didn't "fit" the bread. The sandwich was served with a cucumber salad. While this is normally not something I'd care about, it was delicious! It had a light sprinkling of cheese with in and a nice, refreshing dressing. It was the highlight of the meal for me. In regards to service, overall service was good. We were seated quickly and our waiter did check in on us several times. The food was also prepared quickly, which was wonderful as our entire party was starving! The only service-related complaint would be that it took a looooonngg time to receive our bill after the server had said he would get it. It felt like we were forgotten about. It's nice to have this restaurant as an option in a growing plaza by the Isleworth residential community!

This is an amazingly wonderful restaurant. My wife and I travelled here for a conference right in the heart of the Disney vortex of tourist traps, chain restaurants and crowds. We just kept driving and looking at yelp to help us find something casual, and reasonable. We found it.. it's Dexters... We stopped fire breakfast and liked it so much err came back another day for dinner. This isn't pub grub.. This is great chef level prepared food. The girls on the wait staff are friendly and know their menus. I wish we had a Dexters in Raleigh.

I have been to the Dexter's in Winter Park a couple of times but recently tired the Windermere location with my family for a pre-Christmas celebration. My husband and I arrived a little bit early and sat at the bar for a couple of drinks and an appetizer. I ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives which was delicious. However, when I first ordered it with the olives the bartender stated that she didn't think they had any. I found this as odd since it is one of their signature drinks. Just a personal opinion that if you have something on your menu, you should have all of the ingredients that go into it. Nonetheless, the drink as delicious and the bartender provided great service. After the rest of our party arrived and we were seated, our orders were taken. All of the appetizers were ordered were delicious. The calamari was seasoned perfectly and wasn't overly breaded. For dinner, I ordered the enchiladas which were amazing. The portion size was great; not too much and not too little. My sister-in-law also ordered the enchiladas but they didn't bring out her food until the rest of us were basically done. They gave her a complimentary glass of wine, and call me picky but I felt like the enchiladas should have been complimentary, rather than just the glass of wine. My husband ordered the steak and it was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. After our plates were cleared, we sat around for a while and exchanged gifts. Our server was patient and not once did I feel as though we were being rushed out of the restaurant. Our overall experience was great minus a few hiccups. I cannot wait to go back and try their famous brunch!

Absolutely love the Thursday wine pairing. Great food. Some dishes tend to be on the spicy side, so if that's not your thing, you may want to ask. Music on Saturday after 9:30. Will definitely return!

We've been here 5 times and will definitely go back. We start off with the Bloody Mary's then order the food, which is always on pointe. Staff is always friendly (especially Jacklyn at the bar). The Weekend brunch is the best.

I am in love with the Thornton park and Winter Park locations but this location still needs work, particularly in the kitchen. My son ordered pasta shells in tomato sauce and after one bite he couldn't stop drinking water. I had no idea what was wrong and when I tasted the pasta it was horrendous.. I'm not sure what went wrong here but this was not a typical tomato sauce, not one that I would ever eat let alone a 4 year old. It tasted like a bad tomato sauce that became rotten. It was spicy and bitter. Then I get to try my dish, one of the specials, mahi mahi over lobster Mac & cheese. It tasted as if someone dropped a bucket of salt on top. I also took one bite and couldn't take anymore. I even tried really hard to force myself to enjoy it but it was just not possible. Horrible food aside, our server was sweet (although he didn't make any effort to fix our problem..) and the atmosphere was nice. Only because I love their other locations and because I know this one is brand new, I will give it another chance and update my review. I am really hoping this was a one-time incident.

WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD. took 20 mins to get our drinks (which were wrong). Took 10 mins to get menus (asked 3 ppl) Unless your sitting at the bar the service is trash. After waiting 45 mins for our food we asked our server (Jimmy) what was taking so long and he said "who took your order?". YOU DID! Are you kidding me? We left hungry and didn't even get our food, Jimmy never even put our order into the kitchen! The manager paid for our tab and apologized but that kind of service is unacceptable.

I came here on a Saturday for brunch. I made reservations on online the night before via opentable and 30 mins prior to the reservation Dexter's themselves called to confirm that I was arriving. It was surprisingly empty when I came here with a couple of girlfriends. I ordered a glass of peach mimosa which was actually stronger than I anticipated. I actually waited for my meal to arrive before I started drinking it. I ordered the Croque Madame de Windermere which is "Shaved Pit Ham on Butter toasted Bread topped with a creamy Monterey Jack Mornay sauce and finished with a Sunny Side up Egg. Served with a side of Dexter's Morning Potatoes." Maybe I've been spoiled with Bistro Clo Clo's delicious Croque Madame that I expected something in the same caliber. The meal was okay nothing too exciting. I don't eat fries so I ended up just letting the waitress toss that. In the future, if I order the Croque Madame again I'll ask to substitute for a salad or fruit.

Glad to have another restaurant option on Apopka-Vineland. Good food and good service. My wife had the Chicken Tortilla Pie and I had the South American Chipotle Lime Chicken Salad. Charging for ice tea refills is chintzy.

I usually go here for brunch, which is awesome but went Saturday for dinner. Their regular menu is nothing that exciting but the specials are where it's at. I rarely order red meat out but was lured in by the braised short ribs and they did not disappoint. Fall off the bone tasty. Our server was great too and later in the night they have live music.

After visiting this restaurant within the first few weeks it was open I was excited to have another option close to my office. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing! I returned a few weeks later and did not have the same experience. The service was lousy and our table was not a priority. The food however was delicious. After placing a pickup order the other day I waited for over 5 minutes while my food sat on the bar in front if me for someone to take payment. A manger even came by and said someone would be with me shortly. Finally the bartender returned and was very apologetic. She was in the restroom and I guess no one wanted to help her out but yet they kept seating people at the bar. I hope the service gets better because the food is great!

Having been to the Winter Park location a couple of times I was happy to hear they were putting a Dexter's in closer to home. After going to this location I don't think I will be back. The food is just OK and the service is always slow.

Great service/ thanks Rick! Food is fresh and so tasty...will definitely return next time in the area. There are many more things on the menu I want to try...apps, salads, entrees...never made it to desert/ I will next time! Top notch service...I recommend for a awesome relaxed visit with friends, and familiar acoustic sounds on Wednesday evenings.

Went for lunch on a Sunday around 1 PM. I was very surprised to be seated right away. (In my mind, with this location, I expected to have to wait a while.) My fears were eased once the food appeared. This is not your normal restaurant fair! I loved the variety of choices (especially for a lunch menu). I will be returning to try some of the other items that caught my eye!

It's so nice to finally have good restaurant choices in Windermere. Love the ladies night to with great drink specials.

I'm not super picky and can easily be impressed with food but 3 of the 4 people in our party didn't like their meals at all and I was one of them. I gave this 2 stars because our service was great, my husband liked his food and the restaurant looks awesome. I wanted to give it 3 stars but just couldn't justify giving it another star... Dexters is new to the Windermere area and we were excited to try it. When we walked in we were greeted promptly by a sweet hostess who seated our party immediately. The restaurant looks very hip and modern. It is decorated with modern artwork throughout that is also for sale. The restaurant is very clean. Our server came promptly and took our drink order. Looking at the menu we were all excited to try the food. There is a great variety and the descriptions of the food made the food sound delicious. We ordered our food and eagerly anticipated its arrival. We were very hungry so we were happy that our food came quickly. My husband ordered the Blue Cheese Blackened Chicken and Shrimp Salad. The lettuce was fresh and crunchy, the chicken and shrimp were delicious and the vinaigrette was excellent. The only negative was the canned corn that they called roasted corn. I ordered the shrimp tacos. They looked fantastic, if only they tasted that fantastic. They were swimming in a 'roasted corn salsa' that looked and tasted canned corn mixed mixed with a few spices, tomatoes and peppers. The deep fried avocados and the shrimp were the only decent parts of the tacos. They were swimming in so much liquid that I wound up having to eat them with a fork. The dish came with a side of yellow rice that looked and tasted just like the packaged Vigo Yellow Saffron Rice Spanish Recipe that I buy at Publix. My son loves burgers and ordered Dexters Famous Grilled Colby Cheeseburger. He will usually finish any kind of burger even if it isn't amazingly good. But he only ate a few bites of his cheeseburger before he deemed it inedible. It was cooked as ordered but the meat was poorly seasoned and the bun was stale. He did enjoy the fries. The Mediterranean Pasta Toss that my daughter ordered was just terrible. She started putting the artichoke hearts in it on my plate and loving artichoke hearts I eagerly ate one, it was awful. Not only was it a canned artichoke heart but the seasoning they used was terrible. The white wine broth with fresh herbs that they tossed the pasta and it's ingredients in wasn't liked by anyone at the table. The angel hair pasta was overcooked and sticky. We eat out a lot and are not that picky but everything we had except for the salad was terrible. Maybe we ordered the wrong things but we wound up leaving most of our food on our plates which should have been totally cleaned because we were so hungry. I hope that they see this and step up their game. We need good restaurants in Windermere and I was hoping that this would be one of them....

The most comfortable atmosphere for Sunday brunch. Great mimosas, fantastic service. The staff here are top notch. My new favorite Dexter's location. I recommend the French Toast Bread Pudding and Breakfast Bowl. Pair it with a mango mimosa. We will be back!

Long wait to be seated outside but for the chicken and waffles I had it was completely worth it. I had an omelet without cheese on a previous visit and wished I'd stayed home and made my own. I will definitely go back for the chicken and waffles though

I headed here with some friends for dinner last week. I had been to another Dexter's for brunch so was excited for dinner. We did hit a couple of minor snags. The ahi tuna appetizer a friend wanted to order was sold out. Then my steak and blue cheese flatbread took an extra while to come out because our waitress said the first one was a little burnt...this second one tasted a little burnt too. The seating inside was nice and was fancier than I expected. It fit in quite well in the Windermere area.

What happened?! The Thornton Park and Winter Park locations are so laid back and relaxing. This place looks like it was decorated by a model homes decorator and the acoustics are horrible! There is absolutely nothing warm and inviting about the space. The food is just as good as the other spots (that's why the 3 stars over 2). The service is OK but all 3 times I've been in I have had to ask for my check. I HATE THAT - why am I waiting to give you money? The bar was filled to capacity each time with what I can only assume are people looking for a hook up (and I'm pretty sure not all of them are for free). REALLY uncomfortable. There is a bad trend in this town when a third location opens. Here's hoping the owners can get it together and make this a Dexter's & not what they think Windermere wants. We want a DEXTER'S!

Great new addition to Dr. Phillips area located in Grove. Same great menu , service fantastic as downtown. Ryan Ferraro GM is very excited to be part of the community. Look for this place to be a regular spot. Chicken pesto sandwich with the sweet potato cha cha chips way to go.

Pretty casual place so don't expect a lot of bling but plentiful TVs at the bar and great prices on drinks! Chicken and shrimp salad really good!!!

Heard a lot about Dexters and glad to see one was next to us in Windermere. On the positive point, the Grove is a great locale , with easy parking and great visibility. All four of us loved our dinner, and my Mahi was some of the best I ever had! Downside is ambience. Was somewhat surprised when we walked in, felt little more like Applebee's or some strip mall restaurant . Not very warm - we had reservations for a week and they even called morning of to confirm, as all the fine places do. When we got there, they tried to put us on a high top next to bar. We often like that when out during week, but not for a nice Saturday night with friends for a fancy meal. They were very nice though and after a short wait, sat us at a table in the rear. Acoustics were even worse then bar - have to say one of the loudest restaurants we have ever been in ( and we have been around the world). Don't want to be too harsh, but new to manage your expectations - this is some of the best food ever, great wine choices, but a paper napkin, ( water served in glasses with straws?), loud place with little or no ambience. Maybe owners can do something to redo it - we may come back as a couple and sit in bar during week, but not with friends on any weekend.

I have been to this location several times since they have opened here. We visited the first week and I must say, the food, the service, from top to bottom it was a wonderful experience. We work nearby and were very excited to have a new restaurant here and looked forward to coming back after. Now, after going several times since, I hate to say it has done nothing but gone downhill since. When we have dined in, the waiting staff has been very inattentive, seeming to care more about socializing around the restaurant with other staff and people at the bar than the tables. We waited at the host stand for quite some time to be seated to begin our visit, and we would go long periods without being attended to at our table throughout the course of the meal. Still, we have really liked the food so started to resort to takeout hoping maybe that would be better. On our most recent visit, we had an issue with the service again. This time, we came in to pick up our order, and upon arrival they told us to go pick it up at the bar. The bartender was away at the time, for QUITE some time, which we were ok with at first but in front of us they started asking a manager who was sitting at the bar watching TV about getting us taken care of. He looked over, said 'they can wait', then proceeded to watch TV again and drink whatever he had. Now we're not really upset about how the bartender took some time to get back, it happens from time to time. But what kind of message are you sending with your manager/supervisor doing that in front of customers? I've been in management for years and your staff tends to follow the example of superiors, kind of explains a lot. To top it off, the food quality this time was no where near on par with where it had been. We had noticed a slight decline since we first went, not horrible but definitely not where it had been. Honestly the food is the only reason I won't give this only one star. This is very sad, especially given that this is in an area where restaurants tend to come and go often, and the successful ones are very successful as there are plenty of businesses and residences in the area to support it. My recommendation sadly is to try someplace else.

Great food. We ordered the artichoke and crab dip, the smoked salmon flatbread, the black and blue flatbread, and the crab cakes. Everything came out quickly and it was delicious. Jason was our server and was both polite and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

While I love Dexters and am glad they are at this location, I find that their Calamari appetizer is pretty gross for a supposedly higher end restaurant. The sauce is amazing but even the sauce cannot mask the calamari. I do not recommend.

Service was great! No one in our party thought the food was anything special, with the exception of the sweet potato fries and the regular fries. Both were really good. The Bloody Mary (the upgraded one) was a disappointment. I used to have one at brunch in the Thornton Park location and those were wonderful. The atmosphere was nice, service was great, but food and bloody Mary's need some work.
