I have two favorite pizza places, this being one of them! Anytime I'm ever going through Wauchula, I ALWAYS make a pit stop here!

Didn't feel like cooking, so off into town we went. Ended up here. Definitely a family business. Everyone was very friendly. With entrees you also get soup, salad bar and your choice of fresh bread or garlic bread. The minestrone was excellent. (They have two to choose from). Salad bar is small but fresh with a nice choice of toppings. I tried their house made Italian. Very good. For dinner, hubby ordered one of the nightly specials. Tri colored tortellini and I ordered the lasagna. The sauce used for both was pretty tomatoey. Not a lot of flavor. The lasagna is definitely made more like it is in Italy, rather than the US. Didn't have tons of cheese or meat. A little disappointing. The have a brick pizza oven here as well. Pizza looked good.

In town for business. Stopped for a quick bite. Interior in historic building is very cool. Big brick pizza oven is equally nice. Co-worker's food was over baked. I liked my shrimp pasta dish. Salad and soup are included with meals. My only complaint: the service was slow. Asked for a water refill and never got it. Took our check to a cash register to speed up the process. I will eat here again if my travels take me to Wauchula.

Giovanni's is a great find! Huge portions for the price, great ambiance, and very attentive waitstaff. I lived in the area for 3 years and would frequent Giovanni's often - never had a bad experience or poor meal! The pizza is delicious, chicken parm is fantastic, but their lobster ravioli is the best. The cream sauce is absolute perfection!

Very impressed with this restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone! My favorites of this restaurant are the wood fired pizza, decent prices, and a small town cozy type of feel. The wait staff was very attentive and we arrived between dinner rushes so the place was pretty packed, with a light lull in the middle. I'm a fan of having a good amount of sauce on the pizza, but this didn't have that, only a thin layer to make it look red. However, flavor and atmosphere more than made up. Also had garlic bread, with mozzarella cheese, and it was great. Not type I'm used to as this was on slices of bread, but was very succulent. Am making plans to come back and would recommend everyone try this place. Most won't be disappointed.

Had the carbonara and it was pretty good. The one thing that stood out was the service. It is rare to find service this good now a days. There was one young lady who never stopped checking on the tables. If it owned a place, I would have stole her away. Next time I am in the area, I will be eating here again.

the food is real good here and the service is good also. If you are ever here, order the tiramisu for dessert. I have never had any that was as good as I have eaten here.

O.K., I will admit that I have pretty high standards when it comes to Italian food. I come from the Chicago area. I went to Italy to cooking school. That said, my husband and I both agree that this was probably one of the worst Italian meals we've ever had in our lives. Our first clue should have come when the waitress needed to borrow my pen to take our order. The next clue might have been the fact that she forgot to tell us our meal included a salad bar until after she set our meal in front of us. The third clue may have been the fact that one of the waitresses was serving food while she drank a Pepsi! All of that would have been o.k. if our veal marsala hadn't tasted like a pre-cooked hunk of breading smothered in mozarella cheese and drowned in sauce that had to have been made much earlier in the week. Does that even sound like veal marsala to you??? Needless to say we won't be returning to Giovanni's Main Street Kitchen.

Generally we like Giovanni's very much. Their brick oven pizzas are delicious and so is anything else they can cook up. Service is usually quick and very friendly. Today was different....very different! The restaurant was almost fully occupied as usual but not to capacity. We found a table and were greeted after a few minutes. Drinking order was placed and shortly after delivered. Then everything changed. After 20 minutes watching the two only waitresses cleaning tables and waiting on other people I decided to stop one of them to be able to place our order. We ordered a pizza, lasagna, a shrimp dish and fresh bread while she was profusely apologizing for the long wait. After another 25 minutes the first and ONLY dish came to our table. The pizza was oven fresh and I am sure delicious. Our waitress again apologized that the pizza came out first and that everything else would be at the table shortly. At the 1 hour mark in the restaurant we were told that the lasagna was ready but the shrimp dish would take another "few" minutes. We decided to wait for the food to come out at the same time. BIG MISTAKE. Needless to say, at the 1 1/2 hour mark I decided to call it quits and pay for what we we had so far and leave. I am not necessarily blaming all the young people working there. They were friendly and were trying to make everyone happy. Unfortunately we were not the only ones waiting a very long time for our food. I certainly blame the owners for not being there to lead or give directions or to monitor orders which have a combination of kitchen food and brick oven food to be delivered to the table at the same time. There is nothing worse than food being delivered to one customer at a time. So much for our family dinner. Oh yeah, fresh bread was also not delivered, but this is a systemic problem from the beginning. In the future please have somebody competent in charge to take care of business.

Great value for the money- unlimited salad bar $4.99, unlimited soup $3.99 or $7.99/both. Even better than that is the entrees start at $8.99 and COME with unlimited soup and salad. The large eggplant parmesan comes with a large bowl of spaghetti on the side for only $9.99. I made one trip to the salad bar and still brought home a huge box of leftovers. Delicious!

Passing through town the night before Thanksgiving. Worth a stop. Much better than all the options on this long road.

We like the unexpected. Giovanni's was certainly a serendipity. The atmosphere was charming, the portions gigantic! The flavor, well, it was Italian! We enjoyed our meal and it was quiet enough for conversation.

It's the best Italian restaurant in Wauchula, unfortunately its not a very good Italian restaurant. The salad bar was mediocre. I had the Chicken Napoli. The chicken was rubbery and tough. The sauce was too salty. There were a number of tables having pizza, so maybe that's better choice.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
