Well I have been here numerous times simply because my son loves the fries and shakes. I have given them many chances before giving them a review but they never change so here it goes. The service from the moment you enter Is where it begins. Waiting waiting and waiting you finally get a table. The servers are always friendly but so so slow. Once you order you will find yourself wondering where the heck is your food and how long could it take to make a simple hamburger. Once your food comes its decent, your typical fast food. Get ready to wait again once you get the bill. The lady at the register also Seats tables, cooks hamburgers, makes Shakes, and manages the restaurant. They are never in a hurry to take your Money because all you hear is "I'll be right with you". They need more people to deal with the drive thru The "restaurant" and the cash register. It's always an experience And not one I ever remember being good. Try five guys your service will be so much better and definetly faster.

Great value for a sit-down meal. The milkshakes are delicious and they have some interesting combinations of flavors. We had cheeseburgers and fries. The fries are very thin. But the cheeseburgers are good. They don't ask how you want it cooked, it's like fast food with awesome shakes that taste as good as ice cream.

Second visit to the Viera location and had about the same experience. A party of six just walked in right before us and they seated them all together by moving some tables together. They seated us utilizing a booth and a nearby table for the kids. We were happy to get seated and understood they were getting pretty busy. It took about 15 minutes for the waitress to come by and take our drink order. The time between the drink order and the food order was about 35 minutes. We did however notice most all the tables around us had their food. In fact, the table of six seated a couple minutes before we were seated had their food, finished it and were out of there BEFORE our food even arrived! The waitress didn't give us any silverware and when we asked, she said sorry but they ran out; but she did go somewhere and returned with our silverware (we were hoping they had been cleaned). Some of our burgers were just warm; almost cold. The waitress never asked us how we were doing or never made any mention of the long wait. We were actually calm and made it a point not to be rude although we felt our service was much less than steller. It appeared to us that this is business as usual and she could care less about our dining experience. We asked for ice cream to go and that was another mistake....that took another 15 minutes and then we still didn't have the bill to leave. The ice cream was mostly melted after all this too. When we paid I asked to talk with the manager and took him aside to be confidential. I explained our experience to him and he said that they were short handed today because people called in sick. He also said I should have asked for him during this ordeal and he could have done something. His response and reaction was an indication to us that he may have been a rookie manager and seemed to be blaiming us for the poor service. We will not spend our money there anymore and will reward other places nearby with our business. Their drive thru was very busy and we assumed they invest their time and resources to that instead of the dinning room.

Okay this is my first time at a steak and shake and I have to say I expected way better. Steak and shake is located in Viera. there is a little strip mall and a complex behind the location where there is a couple of restaurants that you can eat at as well as a five guys. This was my first time at a steak and shake and I remembered friends from college telling me that steak and shake was a pretty good spot. When we arrived the staff was nice enough to actually have somebody bring a menu out to the car because I didn't want to get out of the car. the staff member brought the menu out to me I sat in the car and I went over what they had in the menu. I thought that was pretty cool that they made the accommodation to bring the menu out for me. the place did look pretty crowded inside at eight or 9 o'clock at night. The staff here was really nice and pleasant. They did have a wide variety of items and their menu they have everything from chicken sandwiches to burgers and they did have a four dollar menu. I had never eaten here before so I wanted to get something that they were kind of known for something like a signature item of theirs. I ordered a milkshake that was half chocolate and half vanilla the milkshake was so good it reminded me of an old school milkshake I actually prefer their milkshake over Johnny Rockets milkshake. I ordered a double steak and Shake burger with barbecue sauce. I also ordered a small side of french fries with Cajun seasoning. When I got the food I looked where the french fries were and I laughed hysterically. These french fries looked so disgusting. They were all bunched up and stuck together and there was seasoning just sprinkled on top of them and they tasted like someone had stuck them in the microwave and microwave the hell out of them. Just look at my pictures if you don't believe me. I ended up opening up my burger and I have high hopes that the burger would be better. The burger it's self was a decent size the only issue I had with the burger is it had no flavor. The barbecue sauce overpower the entire cheeseburger and I couldn't taste anything but barbecue sauce. A person that I was with had the exact same thing for meal and they took two bites out of it and they threw the rest in the garbage. My friend told me that you would never go back to another steak and shake ever again. I would go back to another steak and shake but just for shakes not for food. Overall. This was my first time at steak and shake I did not enjoy the food at all the fries looked and tasted like they were microwaved the burger had basically no flavor. The reason why I am giving this location two stars instead of one is because the staff was very nice and pleasant. I do recommend getting a shake here but I do not recommend the food at all unless you are too drunk to care lol PROS: -staff was nice - shake was really good CONS: - fries tasted and looked microwaved - burger had no flavor. I like coming here for breakfast and I order their all you can eat pancakes. They are alwayd hot, fluffy, amd so tasty. The best thing is it never ends. I have eaten eight. I also enjoy their bbq bacon burger and the frisco melt. I get one or the other every time I am here. They are so tasty and it is always hard to choose between the two. I also enjoy adding flavors to my coke or sptite. They have vanilla, cherry, chocolate, and vanilla. Shakes are a must. #1 rated by Zagat and they are mmm mmm so good.

I don't get it. Really, I just don't get it. Steakburgers? Really? The implication that they are somehow better because the word "steak" is in the name just makes me laugh... but admittedly, when I first came east, having never heard of this place, I tried it out of curiosity. And what was the verdict for the "Steak"burger? Yeah, just another hamburger with a name it cannot live up to. But the thing that really had me laughing like crazy was the day I was in the drivethru and placed my order, and asked for a small coke. I was denied a small coke because they don't have a "small size". When I pressed on this, I was informed that the smallest size they have is "Junior", so I ordered it. When I got to the window, I asked the guy if "junior" wouldn't be considered small. He said NO, we don't have small, the smallest size is "Junior". For the fun of it, I continued, and asked why they wouldn't simply give a person a "Junior" when they asked for a "Small". He replied "Because we don't have a "small" size. Our smallest size is "Junior". He then handed me my food, and my "junior" coke, which was... SMALL. Sigh.

I've been here a few times and everything was fine, but tonight I got there and I had an original double, it was really bad, the patty was dry, burned and tough. And the waitress was horrible too, didn't bring me the silver wares and didn't even ask me how everything was, things like that. Just dropped the food and left and never came back.

Worst restaurant in Brevard! So far this year (2012), this has become the worst, worst, worst restaurant in Brevard County. Earlier this year, we decided to give their breakfast a try. I think that drinking directly from the ocean would have provided me with less sodium than eating their breakfast. But we decided to give it another try. When we arrived, there was just one other group of people seated in a booth across the dining room. We figured that it being so "slow" that we wouldn't have to wait long. We figured wrong. After being seated, it took five minutes for anyone to come and take a drink order. It took another five to get the actual drinks. Twenty minutes into our visit, our order was finally taken. Ten minutes later (not unreasonable), our food arrived. Given that the food arrived within a fairly reasonable amount of time, one would expect it to be hot. Our food was anything but hot. It was anything but warm. And on top of that, it was flavorless crap, unworthy of being served at Gitmo. The eggs were cold. The meats were cold. The toast, on top of being unbuttered, was stale. I didn't think it was possible to have stale toast, but that's exactly what this was. We will never return to the Viera Steak 'n' Shake. The West Melbourne store is much better.

I remember in college, whenever we would pass a steak an shake my friends would freak out and get excited as it was supposedly "THE BEST PLACE EVER!!". I had never actually stopped at one until I moved to Florida and I have to stay, I am absolutely NOT impressed at all. The good- the staff are friendly and helpful.....that's it though, I have nothing else good to say. This place is over priced, slow and EXTREMELY greasy! I understand it's fast food so grease is expected but for real, if you want a mediocre burger and fries with a side of heart attack, this place is for you!!

Only been to the drive thru here once and it was okay. The communication wasn't that great because the person inside couldn't really here me. It took a few minutes for the food to be ready. Once I got the food I didn't have any complaints!
