Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

This chains reputation is so good that it really shocks me when I have a bad experience at one of their restaurants. Sunday was a typically busy day here...full house, 15 min. wait at 11:10AM. Finally seated, and immediately greeted by our waitress; drink order taken right away and quickly delivered. Ordered one veggie platter and one sampler platter, and this is were our disappointment started. Our waitress had asked if we wanted our salads first and we said yes. It took a while, but we finally got our salads. However, our platters then arrived 30 seconds later...not exactly our idea of getting salad "first". The sampler platter was rather odd looking...the meat portions very small. Meatloaf looked like a leftover piece dug out of the pan, slice of ham just thrown on plate, and the chicken & dumplings with one small piece of chicken amidst a load of dumpling pieces. The cabbage (veggie of the day) very watery, lacking taste and not enough bacon or ham pieces. The veggie platter, poorly presented...baked sweet potato, poorly opened, had cinnamon scattered around potato instead of in it and potato itself was smallest I've ever been served. One last thing...we love good, attentive service, up to a point...being interrupted 7 or 8 times during our meal by our waitresses "Is everything ok?, do you want more tea, do you want tea to go, are you sure, blah, blah, blah"...that's way too much! PS: wife and I both feeling ill (diarrhea and upset stomach) after this lunch. Can't say for sure that it was the food, but I can say it's the first time we've ever felt that way after a meal at Cracker Barrell.

Usually Cracker Barrell is one of my favorite places to eat. However, in this case I have to say that it wasn't what it used to be. Our waitress was friendly though a little forgetful since she didn't exactly bring what one of us girls had ordered (which was crispy hashbrowns). We didn't worry about it to much and ate it anyways (well one of us did). The food was okay .. it just wasn't what it used to be. Food was thrown carelessly on each plate and it wasn't really hot anymore either. We ate it but we agreed that we probably wouldn't return to this location again. Unfortunately. The restrooms were okay, not all that clean but usable. The store had nice items as they always do. If I wouldn't have to ship it and risk it being broken I'd go crazy shopping in this place ... absolutely beautiful. My suggestion: It's ok to eat there but it isn't what it used to be when it comes to the quality of the food.

Well it's been awhile since I had a updated review on Cracker Barrel Old Country Store - The Brandon Location. Let's see what is there to write about this place. The food is great, cook the way you always wanted your entree cooked/prepared when you receive it in front of you. Drink refills are always fast and refilled with no asking the waiter or waitresses for drink refills. The restaurant cleanliness is very well clean and kept up with nothing to worry about from the last group of customers. Every now and then when it's busy there the waiters and waitresses over looks the dirty tables and floors but they will clean it up. Now for the restrooms, always clean and kept up who would want to walk in to the restroom and see it nasty smelling, over flowing, no towels, no anti bacterial soap for great hand hygiene, tissue paper and paper towels we gotta be clean and hygiene!

Get there before 9am otherwise you will have a long wait. Love the little store front, you can find old fashion candies and goodies and purchase cute gifts. Food is good and syrup is real maple!

I have not had a bad experience at any cracker barrel. This was the one time one of the patrons in the place said some racist stuff and the waitress told her manager and she apologized for them because it mad her mad. (im hey at 30 somethings are expected you can get mad or keep living ) any way.. I had the meat loaf and my fiance had the Cat Fish with the nuts It was AMAZING.. as you can see I was many miles from Jacksonville but this will probably be my new CB since we just moved to the area

Food is consistent service is good and who doesn't like being able to eat breakfast anytime of day. The part I like the best is that it is super cheap every time. Eat until you get your fill and then some and it's still cheap. I like the family atmosphere lots of folks with family gathered around sharing each other company over some decent food. We will always come back again.

We are a family of 6 and never have bad service here. The food is always cooked the way we request, even when I had diet limitations during my pregnancy.

This place is a step up from Denny's or a Ihop. Breakfast is served all day and the food is good and service is friendly and fast. Breakfast menu was lacking omelettes, but the items I ordered were delicious.

You can never fail with Cracker Barrel and this place is no expection. Excellent service and friendly staff. The food is always delicious and the pricing is reasonable. And you get to do a little shopping after your meal. There's never a wait time except post church on Sundays and even then it's minimal. Love this place!

I love Cracker Barrel, this is one of the best places to get an old fashioned breakfast. We come here at least once to twice a month. The staff is always very nice and always around to ask if you need anything else for your order. It is also fun to look around the little store when you are done they always have interesting things to look at especially holiday items. Plus it is the olny place I can get Cheerwine down here in Florida.

When we arrived we were seated immediately, waitress came over took our drink order. She brought our drinks back asked if we were ready placed our order and our food took awhile to get there and when they brought out the pancakes and the French toast they didn't bring out any syrup. The food was hot and delicious just the service was lacking.

Great place with prompt service. I ordered some breakfast combo that had catfish. You can't go wrong with fish and grits right?? Maybe it's a southern thing idk but the catfish was fried to a crispy golden crunchy brown perfection. Plus it was seasoned well, but the grits..oh the grits were the demise of the plate. They were a watery, bland, mushy mess. Not allowing those grits to rain on my breakfast parade, I pushed them aside and enjoyed everything else on my plate which was delish. Hashbrown casserole was cheesy heaven. I must warn you, dont get the Egg Beater eggs. I was trying to cut a few calories....what a mistake, they're terrible. Now the real reason I gave this a 4 star review was because of my husband's butter pecan pancakes. Oh my goodness they were good, no they were slap your mama good! I've had butter pecan pancakes before and you basically have to hunt for the pecans. The pancakes here boast large pecan pieces that give you just the right about of crunch. Lucky for hubby he had three large pancakes, I was able to steal 1/2 of a pancake without risking divorce. I will definitely return for more catfish and more pancakes for sure!

I was very disappointed in the food when I came here for dinner. It was very plain and mediocre. I got the Saturday chicken and rice dish. It was not as savory as I have remembered it. The green beans I received as a side dish was very plain and over cooked. The fried okra was pretty mediocre. The corn bread was really salty and didn't have that sweet corn taste. Don't think I'll ever come back to this location.

I am a fan of Cracker Barrel when I'm on a road trip and this is an excellent Cracker Barrel. I had breakfast and it was classic American and well done. The waiter was great.
