Not sure what the low reviews are for. What are you expecting at a Steak 'n Shake? Several 4 dollar meals to choose from let's you pick and choose depending on your mood or if you are like my son you just order 3 different meals to taste the different burgers and you won't leave hungry.

45 minutes wait and we still don't have our burger and fries. This is unacceptable. Fix the damn intercom so you can hear our order and hire more people. We got stuck in the drive thru line so we couldn't reverse and get out.

Stopped in for lunch with the kids - there was a consistent loud buzzing noise coming from what we were told was a vent that the manager has known about for over a month. We won't be back inside until it is fixed - made trying to sit and eat supremely uncomfortable and actually slightly painful!

This has become my Saturday morning routine for breakfast with my son. The food is just as good as any other breakfast place, and at about half the price. Service is hit or miss, depending on how busy they are, but I'm honestly not here to have a conversation with a waitress. They do the best job they can under the circumstances. This has become my 13 year old son's favorite restaurant, so I'm usually here once a week. All you can eat pancakes for $3.99? Such a deal!

We usually visit this location through the drive-thru, but decided to go inside this once to see what it was all about! We stood at the door for 15 solid minutes as different servers looked at us, but made no attempt to greet us. When we were finally taken to a table, the server was fantastic (not one that kept eye-balling us from afar). We had a great experience there, with his attentive service and will def be back again, thanks to him.

Restaurant was not busy, maybe 3 tables seated. Several tables with dirty dishes and not bussed. Server was good, she was fast. Upon trying to pay our bill we had to stand and listen the girl behind the counter have a conversation with her friend about her friend getting her hair done, and how to was it and dry it. And the cashier just looks at us and makes us stand there and wait as they talk... FINALY I hand her my money, she cashes me out and never says a word. I guess we were interrupting their hair conversation. Rude service

I needed to grab something before the long drive back to NC. No Chargill or any other burger chains in sight, so I settled. My burger was ok, but the fries are just not that great. The food was not expensive which is a plus, but just didn't hit the spot or satisfy my burger craving.

This place is the worst. I tried to order two grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato to go at about 2:30am (after driving for 6 hours) since it was the only place open. All the while I stood at the front and watched multiple people walk in and out getting their food. every time i asked they said "it is next." Well i know i should have just left after about 10 minutes but for some sick reason i wanted to see how this played out. The people working there were a joke. basically hanging out with their friends, going outside. I waited 45 minutes and was ready to get my money back. Then they said they forgot and made them in like 5. So make that 50 minutes total for 2 mediocre at best grilled cheese sandwiches. Oh, they forgot the tomato. Just terrible. I regret giving any money to this place. Will not go back.

Upon seating and using bathroom, the floors were noticed to be dirty everywhere and especially in the bathrooms. Napkins and utensils were not available to start and were needed after a shake and spoon accident. The shake was tasty and smooth. All said and done, I will reconsider this location especially after this experience.

Half price milkshakes from 2-4 are a great deal. Apparently everyone else thinks so, and it happens right in the middle of a shift change. So it took almost 20 minutes to get two milkshakes to go. Tasted good, though.

This is a worst fast food store or restaurant I have ever went. We got some vouchers in our mailbox. So, we took our kids to this in one evening. We waited 5 minutes in the entrance where it says wait to be seated. They pretended to be busy, but it didn't look busy at all. They took our order in the counter and then we were seated. After waiting 20 minutes with hunger stomach, a waitress came in and said they ran out of one of our ordered item. So, we had to choose a different. Then after another 20 minutes, they brought all food in a take away bag (no tray or anything). We started eating. We didn't have spoon or fork for salad or genuine chilli (liquid item). So, I went for looking for spoon. I found an open place next to front counter where all spoons were kept. A lady from inside shouted at me that I am not meant to be in that place. This wasn't restricted or blocked. It looks like any other fast food store where you serve yourself by taking your own spoons. I couldn't figure out why that nasty lady had to shout. I just replied that you are not providing good service. She pretty much shouted back about what I said. I just left rather than shouting back to a dog. This is how they serve their customers. I will never go back to Steak 'n Shake. This was first and last.

so i am going to give this place 4stars because of how good the burger actual was. It kinda suprised me it was so good after reading the reviews and what people had said. I service was awesome and speedy. Thing is the place was pretty busy also. i loved the pepper sauce they had for burgers at the tables. All in all i would come to one of these anytime.

Ok- it's a chain! It is clear when you walk in that they need more help. People were waiting and there were empty but dirty tables. One more lunch person would not hurt, even a busser. So, decisions. Hamburger or chili. I love chili so I ordered both a chili 3-way and an A1 slider. My regret is not having their fries. They ate the shoestring type that I usually enjoy. The hostess doubled as my wait staff and promptly brought my drink. The little 89 cent shooter or slider was ok. Maybe a bigger burger next time! The chili had some heat which I like, but also a lot of grease which I don't. The three way was spaghetti, chili meat and chili sauce. I thought it would be spaghetti chili (with meat of course) and onion. The bowl was little but only 3.99. Wendy's chili is much cheaper and with more meat. My drink was never refilled so that was a waste of 1.79! Amanda should have paid more attention but there were so many other things for her to do. Get some help here!

If I could give this a negative star rating I would but will settle for a one star. We walked in about 10:00 on a Sunday morning wanting some pancakes. It was only half full but had to wait to be seated. No one sat us or the other parties waiting so we all seated ourselves. Took a while to get menus. We ordered and after 30 minutes they started saying our order would be out soon, not much longer, we are next. After 50 minutes we walked out leaving money to cover our drinks. Worst Steak n Shake ever. Will never go back and will tell others not to patronize. Plus the whole time we were there the tables that were vacated were never cleaned. How could they ever handle it if they ever got busy. Needs new management in my opinion.

Be warned: Takeout takes at least 15 minutes longer than they promise. If they even notice you waiting to pick it up. Even dining in poorer quality than most Steak n Shakes.
