5-stars in class (3x meals, Diner, short order/specials) Immaculate, well-lit, and all-around positive! This is what many would hope for a diner to be. Multiple diner classics are featured on the "Everyday Specials" section. (See photo) Daily specials also presented. Clientele appears to be suburbans from this part of town as well as workers from adjoining professional park AND I-10 travelers. I mention this because it's worth driving from the TLH core to eat here. We made a special point of coming today - based on YELP reviews. It exceeded expectations.

It's a diner, not a gourmet breakfast location, and for what they are, they do it well. The location is small, in a strip mall that is tucked away on Mahan Drive past I-10. I arrived a little late for the typical breakfast lunch, and I was one of 4 patrons there, but had two others joining me. Space was clean and casual and I was offered to sit where I pleased. I grabbed a both and was quickly greeted by a server who took my order of coffee and water as I waited for my friends. Coffee was good, surprisingly. It wasn't hand ground, brewed in a syphon machine or anything of the sort, but it was very solid. Mug was large and the server kept it full. Timing in the kitchen was a bit off as my food came out about 5 minutes later then that of my friends. I ordered the Chef's Omelette with home fries and a side of bacon. The omelette was loaded full of cheese and sausage, and just the right amount of jalapeños. It was also piping hot when I got it, so it didn't spend much time waiting for our server to grab it from the kitchen. I never received my side of bacon and didn't check the bill before I left, so the blame is on both of us (them for not bringing it out and me for not checking my bill!). Prices were reasonable; not cheap and not pricey. I good value for your money.

Nice little place for country cooking, daily breakfast and lunch specials, friendly staff, clean, affordable. The food comes out reasonably fast and fresh.

We stopped here on the way back from Orlando after a long stretch of no restaurants on I-10. Thanks to Yelp, we found this place. Great home cooked meals for a cheap price. The server was friendly and very attentive. Definitely recommended for affordable comfort food that comes out quickly.

A hidden treasure and about the only place to eat near our best western motel nearby. Real mashed potatoes, great veggies, good comfort food. Friendly wait staff. Open all week, but not weekends,

Wow! What a nice surprise. It's a small place. Service was great and so was the food. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ordered burgers and fries. They came out pretty quick. The burgers tasted great and the fries were crispy.

Delicious home cookin! The burger ($7.00) was amazing and the sides were all made from scratch. The chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese ($9.99) must have been good because they didn't last long at our table. Very friendly service. Small and welcoming. Wish I lived closer so we could visit again!

What a great little find on our road trip . Ruby's is one of the cleanest diners I've ever been in and they were fast and friendly as well. I had the biscuits and gravy which was delicious . I'm a bit of a gravy snob and this gravy made the marks , it had the perfect combination of seasonings . My dining partner had eggs bacon and cheese grits and I have to say I was a little jealous because the cheese grits looked to be to die for !! I'd definitely recommend this place if driving along I-10 near the Monticello / Tallahassee area . Also they have outside seating and a big field beside them which is great if your traveling with a dog .

The hours on here are wrong. I drove out here for breakfast and no only serve lunch and dinner. From 11p to 8pm.

Nice place to quickly stop off of I-10. Most meals under ten bucks and pretty good food. From the reviews I expected a bit more so I think three stars is appropriate. We went there for dinner. Lastly, I thought the kids meals were priced a bit high relative to the other menu prices. Very clean and I am glad that we stopped in to eat there.

Yikes. Where to begin? Interested in trying something new on our way into town, we popped into Ruby's for breakfast. We sat at the bar, where we had a view of the kitchen. I ordered biscuits and gravy. My husband ordered the first item on the menu, which consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries, and two pancakes. He got coffee. I had water. I choked down half a biscuit but the gravy was inedibly salty, so I sent it back. Our waitress was weird and acted rather strung-out. As we could see the kitchen, I can say with reasonable certainty that the only thing cooked to order were the pancakes, which were greasy and raw in the middle. The bacon was cold. The eggs were macerated and dry, like they were cooked hours ago and kept on a warmer. The home fries were inedibly salty. I guess the best part was the half raw pancakes and watching the waitress, whatever planet she was on. Only after finishing a pancake did I see the cook with his pants hanging off sit on the stove with a half exposed ass. Yum. Sanitary. It is no surprise to me that my husband and I have both spent half the afternoon in the loo.

My son and his girlfriend kept telling how good the food was at Rubie's. I met them for breakfast this morning and it was excellent. The service was great and the atmosphere was very friendly. I will be meeting them there on Saturday mornings since I'm sure we will become regulars. Lunch is next!!!!

Get there early!! Ruby's fills up close to meal times. Had the Wednesday special of pot roast, rice, and green beans. Pot roast was tender and nice blend of not too fatty and just a bit. Not a big veggie eater and polished off green beans. Service was friendly and food served quickly. A nice out of the way pleasant surprise.

Had a day off in the middle of the week. Took a ride to Ruby's after checkin out Canopy road and automobile museum. Was starving. Good servers. Not a whole lot of choices in menu but good tasty food for the price.

We went for lunch today and took my in laws. It was fantastic! My father in law and I had the grilled chicken tender salad. They came out first and they smelled amazing. Almost like a blackening seasoning was used on it. They looked small to me but I was very satisfied. My mother in law got the grilled chicken sandwich. It was a big piece of chicken but I'm thinking it looked a bit white and could use the same spices they put on my chicken tenders. My husband got a double cheeseburger no bun with the side veggies and a small bowl of beans and snaps. The burgers were HUGE and he ate them all up. He loved the beans. We didn't eat dessert so I can't comment. Our waitress was all the way precious!! Very attentive. I would give it 5 stars if the salads were larger and the chicken on the sandwich was a bit more appetizing looking. I can't wait to try it for breakfast!!

Went here for breakfast over the weekend with a friend and her 8 year old son. It was a pretty darn good place. The inside was packed so we sat outside. It took a while to get a server over to us. I actually went inside to flag someone down after we sat there for a few minutes. That was no big deal though. Once we pointed ourselves out everything was good. I got the biscuits and gravy. They were tasty and a good size for the price. Not the best I've ever had, but I'd order them again. My friend had an omelet and grits which she gobbled down with a smile. And her son had a chocolate chip chocolate pancake which was really good. The coffee was delicious and as we got ready to leave our server brought us to go cups of coffee for the road! That was super cool of them. The service was very friendly. Overall I enjoyed Rubys for breakfast. I look forward to giving them a shot for dinner soon.

A nice find just off the interstate with good food. Real scrambled eggs and very good wheat toast. Glad we found it on Yelp.

Stopped here for lunch while driving a long trip on I-10. Good prices, good service and homemade food. I had a schnitzel, (a breaded pork cutlet) which is not something I normally have but it was a large portion and good to eat. This is a winner.

Ruby's is awesome! The chicken & dumplings are just like my grandma used to make. I am definitely going to become a regular!!!!
