This 3 star is to Mediterranean wrap. One bite was enough to convince me that it's a good wrap. Although cucumber and black olive coming through a lot but I was unexpectedly pleased how fresh everything was. It was rather dry so ask for more hummus. The space of this fast casual boutique restaurant chain was cute and fresh like Panera Bread. Many other dishes I saw were very promising, tomato soup was really hearty and tasty. Oh! Don't forget to enjoy help yourself free soft cream (see my photo). Great for lunch!

Love Jason's! Excellent customer service, delicious and eclectic menu! Everything is super fresh and free ice cream is always a plus. The salad bar is always fresh and fully stocked. New and modern interior makes dining here an all around pleasant experience.

Update. We made a third trip back, as The Boy loves the sandwiches. I tried a simple roast beef on onion roll with lettuce. The roast beef was moist and had a good flavor, but the roll was a fail. They toasted the roll almost to the point of burning it. This gave the onions a bitter flavor. The roll is a mass-produced type that has a great deal of sugar and/or high fructose corn syrup in it, and the taste comes out clearly in the sandwich. It did not add to the flavor of the sandwich. I set the bread aside and ate the meat. I noted that the beef, while good, was a bit on the salty side. Chips came with the meal, and were fresh, but a bit salty. The temp in the restaurant was under better control this time, though the weather was cool, and the restrooms were in good condition. Food taste and quality seems to vary according to the time of day you go in to this restaurant, and quality is average. I can manage it, but I have had better sandwiches. If The Boy is going to want to keep coming back, I will have to see what else I can eat before I develop dyspepsia.

For me, three stars is generally the ceiling for any franchise - given that deep investor pockets abound with such operations and therefore theoretically, they could always aim for excellence. So - that said - I think Jason's deli offers the best salad bar in town. The Muffaletta's are phenomenally large. They're not my favorite. Baked Potato entrees are equally proportioned. Soups are consistently good, and the sandwiches that aren't "the standards" have been thoughtfully considered and delivered on a plate.

Bad experience. My wife and I could barely hear the cashier, told her so and she responded w/ annoyance. We had to bus our own table and wipe it off, ours was one of about 6-8 dirty tables and the wait was 16 mins for our sandwiches. I timed it. Rough.

Good spot - good food. Tastes fresh and prepared in house. Good options for the salad bar. Good alternative to Sweet Tomatoes. Free ice cream..can't go wrong with that, though the last few times I've been in there they have been out of ice cream cones!

I was pleasantly surprised with Jason's deli. My husband and I went there on a Saturday, and since it was a new restaurant, it was, understandably, quite busy. After placing our order, we searched for a minute to find a table. An employee saw us looking for a place to sit, found us an empty table and told us to go ahead and sit down while he cleaned it off. Both of our sandwiches were under $7 (and we left stuffed!), $2 for drinks, and FREE ice cream. The menu is also quite varied; we felt we should get sandwiches on our first visit, but I'm definitely looking forward to the pasta next time. We will definitely be coming back.

Mehhhhh. Note to Self: When people accustomed to all of the "culture" Tallahassee has to offer begin raving about a new "authentic Jewish deli," take it with a grain of salt. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Scholtzky's Redux. Why there has been so much hubbub about this place I have no idea. Picture this: a larger Panera bread, without any of the artisan baked goods, longer lines, longer waits, similar quality food (but Carnegie Deli inspired), more expensive. Where do I sign up, right? Yes, the sandwiches have a lot of meat on them, just like the pictures on the billboards. But they don't really have much else substance, so they're not like to actually satisfy you. Plus they run $8 or $9 a pop. Oh well, there is the salad bar, if you didn't already hit the exact same one at Shoney's (are they still in business?). Actually, the one at Shoney's is better. This one ends at lettuce, chick peas and cottage cheese, more or less. There is a cool quick-pay kiosk for the salad bar though. My biggest issue with the place is waiting 23 minutes, at 2:30pm, for a to-go order, multiple times. It's well past lunch hour, there's only two people in line...WTF about a corned beef sandwich takes 20 minutes? Any Panera could pump out the same order, with 15 others in front of yours, in less than 6 minutes. Every time. Plus, Jason's seems to have a knack for forgetting portions of your order, or leaving on items that you requested left off. Sigh. It is what it is, mediocre chain-deli food, subpar staff training and sans any actual deli counter. Decent grab and go quality bites if you have nothing better to do with 30 minutes of your time, and one of few edible options for a sandwich on Apalachee Parkway, so you'll probably still go here despite knowing that you shouldn't. I'll admit it, I do too. Such a sucker.

My wife suggested we try Jason's because she saw an ad with a Reuben with meat piled high. Of course, I knew the sandwich wouldn't have that much meat on it. Well, I was wrong. The sandwich we got looked like the one in the photo. If you are tired of sandwich places that put a few thin slices of meat each sandwich, give Jason's a try. The restaurant is surprisingly large inside. Lots of tables and a good looking salad bar with a nice variety of ingredients. Look forward to trying it next visit. Highly recommend this place!

It's like they are trying to starve you to make you think the food is good. The southwest chicken chili was to be topped with sour cream, green onions and cheddar cheese. Wish they had not told me that is the way it was supposed to come and I would not have been disappointed! I had to send my pastrami meltdown back - after waiting 40 minutes- because I'd specifically asked for no mayo. After I sent it back, it came out without the mayo. The sandwich I'd waited so patiently for was fatty, stringy and flavorless. I know good pastrami and this was not it! Jenna, one of The service managers did not ask ME how my meal was even though she approached the two guys next to me! Shucks, I wanted to give her an earfull! Out of four tables around me, 3 had problems with their orders. Jenna just happened to ask the one table that had no problem and they chatted her up. (she is from Winter Haven & travels between Gainesville and TLH) She didn't ask any others around how things were. Now, she is going to have a skewed view of Jason's Deli. If I go back, it will only be for the salad bar.

Though I always seem to have the salad bar, and go there for the kids so they can get ice-cream after their meal, I find the food and service to be consistent and pleasant. I have had a selection of their sandwiches from catering events, and they have been good, but the ones in the restaurant look so much better! I am going to have to change my routine up a bit. :) This is a nice, inexpensive option for a quick and tasty meal.

I came here for dinner with my sister in law and fiancé. We all orders the same sandwich The Papa Joe- turkey, Asiago, roasted tomatoes, basil, mayo, and pesto, all on some delicious toasted focaccia bread! All of us loved the sandwich, it was delicious! The bread was perfectly toasted and the pesto was perfect with the turkey and tomatoes. It was a delicious and light sandwich, very refreshing. I ordered a soup as well, the broccoli and cheese soup. It reminded me a lot of the same soup from Panera, which isn't a bad thing for me. It was very yummy and I would recommend it. They also provided crackers for the soups and some breath mints. Overall, this place is a very good option if you're craving something light and filling. One great thing they have is a drive thru and you can call and order takeout. They have tasty food, decent prices, and really great service.

It's not often that you find such exceptional customer service. Though the food was great, I'd wager a guess that people come back for the caring employees, who are very professional and happy to serve you.

Had the salad bar here and it was awesome...lots of different choices, everything was fresh and delicious! I got mine to-go and the box easily made a dinner salad and a lunch salad for the next day. I haven't had anything else here yet, but would def go back for the salad! Tallahassee needs more good salad places!

My first visit I had the Reuben. It probably had less flavor than any sandwich I've ever eaten. Until my next visit when I had the beefeater sub. It was like chewy gelatin on a roll, accompanied by a "jus" that tasted like a slurry of caramel food coloring and iodized salt. I've eaten better meals from an MRE pouch.

I just moved back to tally, my friends told me about a New York style deli that had just opened. Having been to New York myself I wasn't expecting much, lets just say I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Reuben with pastrami instead of corn beef and it was great, the bread was good and the meat and sauerkraut were piled high :). The meal came with chips as well but they were just regular plain chips. The day I was there they were giving out free ice cream which was actually really good! Prices are VERY reasonable($6 for a Reuben and chips $2 for a drink) and the decor is nice with plenty of tables and a few booths. This a great addition to Tallahassee I cant wait to go again to try the sandwich called the New York Yankee.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST BROCCOLI CHEESE SOUP IN TOWN! Was that loud enough? lol

Food was great. I had the mediterranean wrap and side salad. Wrap was substantial size wise, and came w a side of fresh fruit. My side salad allowed a trip to the salad bar which was well stocked w too many selections to list. This deli prides itself on not using trans fats and using only the best nutritious ingredients in their food. Don't forget the free ice cream when u are done!! Please bring a Jason's deli to Pensacola soon!!!!

I used to be really impressed with this place, but after frequent visits, it lost its charm. You see it for what it truly is: just another casual cafe chain. Compared to a similar concept like Panera, this place is less comforting. It's not somewhere you come with your computer to study or overview some documents while you eat. For me, it's solely a quick-stop lunch spot (ideal for families with small children, because-you know-the complimentary ice cream!). And for what it is, I'd have to say I'm a fan. I come here for the salad bar, and I love it every time! About $8 or $9 depending on whether you add a cup of soup or not. You get a ticket. Bring it to the end of the bar, and they'll serve you up a nice empty plate to fill with yummies! Once you're done with that plate, bring it back up and exchange it for a fresh one. Easy-peasy! There is this Israeli couscous salad I put on every plate. Make your base, and add this on top. You won't need anything else to dress it up. I put spinach/romaine, zucchini slices, broccoli, cucumbers, olives, and grape tomatoes before slapping it on. It's great, too, because the weight of the couscous weighs the rest of the salad down. (You can rest assured nothing will go flying off your plate during transport, and it makes the salad easier to mix!) You can't forget it: pick up some mini-muffins or bread crisps or add a pickle spear or hard-boiled egg on the side. If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite out with your family, I say it can't hurt to check this place! Bellies will be full. Sweet-tooth satisfied. And so will your wallet!
