Ate here last night. Was seated right away with excellent service and good food. Very clean and well managed. The staff is above average for a national chain.

This time at bar. Bartender seems to be a bit of a jerk or maybe he is about to get off soon. Either way he is rude. Asked for a drink menu and he says they dont have one then proceeds to ask if we want the food menu and on the back is miraculously a drink menu. He seemed annoyed we were even there. We drank our drinks, paid and left. And because we believe in tipping, we left one anyway. But he sure didn't deserve it.

We used to love Carraba's but over the years the quality of the food has progressively deteriorated. We were a party of 6 and everyone said their meal was just poor to marginal. We won't be going back.

After much fanfare by our friends my wife and I decided to check this place out after our first option for Italian, Ricardos, was closed. Overall the food was really good. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer, a custom pizza with everything, and the Mezzaluna ravioli. The calamari was among some of the best we've had in Tally and the pizza was great! So why three stars? I would have to say the service and ambiance. When we first walked in the place was unusually warm and smelled like a locker room. We almost walked out but were too hungry to go somewhere else and wait. Plus the place was packed and it looked like everyone was really enjoying their food and spirits. Our waiter started off strong but then disappeared. We had to get another passing staff member to get refills on water, a little extra condiment, and finally our bill and boxes to go. This can be somewhat excusable when places are hopping and busy but by the time our food came out the place was pretty empty. The wait staff next to us weren't much better. The waitress immediately to our left was slamming some of the food and drinks and even criticized a drink that a guy she was waiting on ordered. She stopped badgering him in front of his friends when he said he liked it. She also complained to this table about another table she was waiting on and implored them to not act like the other table. Finally, as our food came out, we hear a woman screaming (a little overboard I think) ROACH!!! It was a palmetto bug that apparently flew into the restaurant a couple hours before that that one of the waitstaff members commented --- "yeah, that came in a couple hours ago. It must have flown in the door when people came in." And then he dismissed it and walked away. Eventually the manager would come check it out and kill it after a few other customers said something. They may have been having a off night --- like I said the food was good, but this was definitely not a good first impression.

3.5 actually. Chain Italian, but a step up from Olive Garden. Service is very good and they don't try and push their house wine on you. Prices are reasonable.

This is a great place for a date, nice atmosphere...looooove the warm bread with olive oil and herbs....the chicken noodle soup is great and the chicken parmigiana is great as well. Our server Bill was great.

This is one of their original locations. On the outside there are trees and greenery on the roof of the building, very pretty. The dining area is clean and very dim lighting, which I like especially on a very hot day. Stopped in for a late lunch today, the hostess and server were very friendly. We ordered Manicotti with chicken, spinach, in a pomodoro sauce baked with mozzarella cheese on top. Hubby ordered a linguini with basil, garlic, fresh tomatoes. All of our entrees came with a salad or soup. I choose the ceaser salad which I did not care for. The dressing was very bland and light. Daughter ordered a chicken soup that was delish and hubby had a lentil and spicy sausage, very good. The waitress was so sweet, constantly checking on our drinks and making sure we did not need anything. She was excellent. All of our entree's were good, nothing to special but edible. This restaurant chain is o.k. when your looking for decent Italian food at a reasonable price. This is about as good as it gets in Tallahassee, other than Macaroni Grille. I noticed they have specials on wine on Wednesdays, take $10 off a bottle........To bad it was Sunday!

Nice little traditional (that's not really traditional) Italian restaurant. I love going here Sunday afternoon or even on game days. Grab a great meal and enjoy a good drink and watch on one of the many tvs posted near the bar. This is ideal for initiate gatherings at the wait can get pretty long and they make it a custom to serve the whole table at once. But the food is worth the wait. Nice dim dining room. Almost anywhere you are seated you can view the hard ovens cooking up pizza. The food is so good you almost forget it's actually part of a chain. Appetizer : Calamari & Minestrone (A+) Side: Caesar (the traditional way with olives and peppers) (A+) Main: Lobster Ravioli (not much lobster but well cooked) B Dessert: Chocolate Dream cake/brownie thing ... could have given me shock - lots of chocolate (A) Only down side not much red meat on the menu.

I went to Carrabbas this evening with a group of ladies from church and we had a wonderful dinner. The area we were seated in wasn't completely secluded, but secluded enough for someone to stand up and speak and be heard by everyone. We had a male and female server and their service was wonderful. I ordered the Fettuccine Carrabba and I really enjoyed the dish. The pasta was very light (I imagine this is how fresh pasta tastes) and cooked perfectly, the chicken was grilled to perfection and I had just the right amount of sauce. Everyone's meal was out in a reasonable amount of time and there were no complaints from anyone. We all enjoyed our meals, which is sometimes tough in a group setting at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone, it is especially nice for date nite with the restaurant being dimly lit. I even tried salmon for the first time tonight and I would recommend that too! The topping was excellent!

We ordered a pasta carrabas which had green peas and chicken. It appears they threw in there a frozen bag of peas along with a frozen chicken. The pasta was overcooked and sloppy. It was an alfredo type cream, but there was little of it. Tap beers were almost 4 bucks. Like someone said' "a step above olive garden", I think this is our last trip there. Now to find a locally owned restaurant...

I lived in Tallahassee for four years and never went to this place. I went back for FSU homecoming weekend with some friends who had worked there and we literally got the VIP treatment! We sat at the "bar" near the kitchen. We were able to view everything that was going on and watch the chefs do their thing. I tried Pumpkin squash ravioli which was AMAZING! (and I hate pumpkin). It was so tasty and truly a different blend of yummy flavors. I also had some soup reminiscent of italian wedding soup. It was called something else, I can't remember but it was delicious! Then, I of course had to have some comfort food - spaghetti and meatballs. I'm really picky about meatballs because that's one of the only things I can actually cook from scratch myself. I'd give the meatballs maybe a 3.5. But the food as a whole was so good. We were also able to talk to the manager and meet some of the staff. This particular Carrabba's only hires deaf individuals for certain things and mentally challenged individuals for other things. It was great to hear about a business giving people a chance. The staff was so friendly and so kind. They doted on us and made us feel special. The food was delicious and I would definitely support this place again!

My first visit to a Carrabba's and very impressed with the staff and food. Had a small grilled salmon with a bowl of their spicy sausage & Lental soup. Nice initial kick to your tastebuds when you take you first spoonful. Not over powering, just right. The salmon was fresh, moist and flavorful. My waiter, Torrey was very pleasant and explained the menu, and made excellent recommendations. Definitely a return trip will be in order since we don't have Carrabba's in SOCAL just yet.

This was my first Carrabbas. I was on a job interview for a radio station and I think the meal I had there was a major factor in taking the gig. When I moved to California a year later (I wasn't too crazy about Tally), I would get my Carrabba's fix whenever I could - Carrabbas doesn't have any locations in Cali. So if I went to Vegas, I'd play a few hands of blackjack AFTER I made the trip to get my Chicken Bryan at Carrabbas. Lots of great chicken dishes, it's not a traditional red sauce type Italian place which threw me at first. The garlic mashed potatoes are awesome. And the shrimp scampi is more addictive than crack... and probably just as bad for you.

I don't remember too much about it, but I know I was satisfied and it was a bit pricey.

My first visit, arriving to Tallahassee famished on a Sunday night. Where to go? Not many choices here in Tallahassee. You've got pizza joints and chain restaurants...those are the bleak choices. Acutally, our waitress was great, the three stars are for her! The ambience was dark wood with ambient lighting. The caesar salad was tasty (with anchovies) and my spaghetti and meatballs were fairly good as well, though I wasn't expecting al dente so I wasn't disappointed.

This particular Carabba's is fantastic. Almost always crowded, so, be prepared to hang out with a "flasing coaster" for awhile. I really like the booths in this place because they are dark and atmoshperic. The tables situated in the middle of the dining room are far less desireable! Food and service is pretty terrific here. Tallahassee should be rather proud of this place. It probably makes a killing.

Everything there is good! I could eat about 40lbs of the bread alone

Every time I come here I feel a little judged for being a college student, resulting in a little less than perfect service. The food is good however.

Once again, we were NOT disappointed! I just finished having dinner with four family members and our meals were superb. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server came to our table to begin taking our orders right away. From the appetizers to dessert, everything tasted delicious. We will definitely visit this location again.

Just don't order the Filet. I'm not sure what they've done because I remember them having a very good state. I can't blame it on a bad night either. The steak itself was inferior, then again, I shouldn't expect to much more for $26 9oz Filet.

I used the online ordering for curbside pick up while I was doing errands around town. Staff saw me immediately after I put the car in park. I was 10min early of the pick up time and the waitress offered me a complementary drink and my food came soon after. The food was amazing and the service was even better!!

Great restaurant with lots of variety. Great Italian food at very good prices and excellent service. They also have non-Italian options for those who do not prefer Italian food. And the drink menu is unbelievable, their martinis have to be some of the best in town. You can not go wrong here! Cheers!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
