Went last night with two teenagers. Even they we not impressed. This place has changed. I hope they read this review and fix what needs fixing. The pizza sauce had a strange overly sweet taste. The chicken wings were dry and had no flavor. The garlic rolls were dry. The teens said the same thing. It was "eh". This used to be a really nice place to take the family. Please fix it...

Ordered a large pepperoni pizza and was not disappointed! Staff wasn't the friendliest though.

I ordered food for take out. I ordered chicken piccata and it was delicious. Their rolls are also very good. I will be going to this restaurant again! I am so glad we found this place.

Very blue collar ambiance and service . Food is edible, pizza is good but quality is lacking. For example, their "famous" garlic rolls are slathered in what looks like garlic flavored margarine, salad dressings are of dubious quality, the water and water for the ice does not taste like it is filtered. Cleanliness may be questionable, on a previous visit I saw my waitress prepare my salad with her unwashed hands instead of a designated person with gloves. Overall, not a place I would eat at on a regular basis

Horrible service, waited on by teenage girls who lack service... Don't come if you don't have 2 hours to waste. Not Kid Friendly At All!!!

Dine in service is good 4/5 Delivery service good (but can take over an hour at peak times) 4/5 Food quality is good (tends to be over cooked/charred ala Anthony's coal fired, especially pizzas and garlic rolls. so be aware) 3/5 Menu has a good assortment of items to choose from 5/5 Over all though, a good neighborhood Italian restaurant, had to go with 3/5 stars for the issues mentioned.

Tried this place for the first time, I had the linguine with clam sauce. The pasta seemed a little undercooked, and the clams were fresh but only whole clams around the outside of the plate . No type of sauce with clams cut up and spread over the top.it was just ok. That's the only thing I ever had there so I will try again and get something different next time Place looks very clean friendly service

When I get pizza outside of NYC I usually get nervous. Great thin crust, light tasty sauce. Family service. Solid. Try it !

Scuotto's is a solid go to neighborhood Italian restaurant. Food is consistently good, the service is friendly and great. I like that the menu is varied and they will still make changes and substitutions with a smile. The chicken parm, eggplant rolatini, are excellent and the salads are always fresh.

Strip plaza but decent looking on the inside.I really enjoyed the old italian music they were playing which made the experience better. However the waitress took too long to attend to us because she was loudly training a new girl how not to give the customers what they want over the phone. Not good to hear. 10 minutes later she took our order but when i asked for gorgonzola on my salad she said no. not that they dont have it, they just cant do it. SMH. strike 2. Then I went to the restroom. Strike 3. Horrible, not the worst buT not acceptable. our food arrived. Good but not great. Pizza average. Garlic rolls good but not used to the butter I prefer oil. SaLAD GOOD BUT too much dressing I didnt know they put it on top ask for it on the side. I prefer Sals.

Food is good, I will always get their baked wings. Just need to add some hot sauce. The service here is alway great, and the staff aims to please. The venue is nice in size, great for small and large groups. Fridays seem to get packed so get there early.

This place is a horror show. I ordered pizza for delivery twice and it was bad both times. The pizza was ice cold and I live 2 miles away. When My wife called to just politely let them know the pizza was cold she got an attitude from the owner, Sunrise City Commissioner Joey Scuotto. When she reiterated all she was calling about to give him a heads up the pizza came ice cold and all he could say is that's impossible. We now order from Guido's on Nob Hill and Sunrise Blvd or I will order and pick up from Pizza Time on Sample Rd or Pasqulies on Coral Springs Dr both in Coral Springs....well worth the drive. Scuotto also owns Giovani's Coal Fired Pizza on 136th and SR 84 by IKEA..I will never go to either. A side note, this COMMISSIONER tried to ban food trucks from the City of Sunrise, they can come but it is very difficult, I'm surprised he hasn't tried to ban all pizzerias from the city.

Everybody is dogging on the service, but we had a group of 8 with 4 people being from new jersey (They always want substitutions and every sauce and dressing on the SIDE) and they did a fantastic job with dealing with us, including 2 kids who are very picky. Their portions...are HUGE. Like ginormous. Honestly, this guy can make way more money by cutting the portions in half and charging the same price. (You would still have left overs) Everything I tried was pretty good. baked ziti, zuppa di pesce and I got the florentine which is layers of proscuitto, chicken, tomato, egg plant and mozzarella. We went on a day where you get a pasta and get a free pasta so that was a deal! It came with salad too, and to make it easy for us, they just gave us 2 big salad bowls so we can just grab what we wanted. Also- garlic rolls- delicious, oily, buttery, garlicky pieces of yum. The owner came around too and chit-chatted a little bit with us too at the end.

We wanted to go to a locally owned Italian restaurant for a birthday celebration. I am so glad that we found this restaurant. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and extremely polite. The food was fabulous. The portion size is huge. We will go back. Thank you! :)

Dissapponted. Ordered delivery on 10/16/14. Ordered close to $50.00 worth of food. Pasta fagiole soup was 95% beans, chicken milenese breading was burnt, dressing for salad was a weird brown color and tasted bitter. Rigatoni, garlic rolls, and baked ziti were good. All-in-all I would not eat here again. I do not feel it was a good value for my money.

I LOVE THEIR FOOD! When I at am work I order from them on almost a weekly basis. I always get either the Italian Wedding Soup or the Eggplant Parmesan Sandwich and I am never disappointed. Their pizza is really good as well. They are definitely in my top ten places for pizza.

I'm torn between writing about the food or the service. Yelp to the Rescue ---- I'm hungry in an unfamiliar neighborhood. I find myself a place to eat. Walking in ---- I am met with a photo of an officer at the 9/11 WTC. I pause --- as I soak in the rest of the photos, I realize this is family and this is the family and friends album. It goes right to the very center of me. (but I say nothing, for I am hungry and have just left a dear friend who is recovering from a severe stroke) I am greeted warmly as I settle on to a bar seat. Of course, a glass of house wine (oh no, 2 for 1) Every thing looks wonderful (ah, because it is Italian?!) As I write this now, I cannot tell you what I ordered. What I remember is that the rolls where just like I use to make when (so long ago), I worked in an Italian family restaurant. I am so picky about those rolls. What I do remember, was the feeling of being welcomed, of delicious food, good drink and a deep and personal conversation about 9/11 that brought back the feeling that we are all so closely connected. Normally, I would hold the food sacred above all. But there was true love and family that fill this restaurant that made me, a stranger far from home, feel welcomed and comforted.

Ate here last night with a Golf Club from the local area. It was Fabulous. The food and serfvice could not be beat, or closely matched. We had a blast with way too much DELICIOUS food. It was like being in mama's kitchen with the Pyrex casseroles flowing and all the foods we love. Many of us have already made plans to revisit the place with many more people. Watch out guys, Tamarac is in the house. THANKS

I come here a lot with friends. The good is always good and comes out fresh and piping hot. Which is always a good sign. The garlic rolls are great also. They always have great specials. I love buy one get one free pasta night. You will always have left overs to take home. The portions are huge. Service is not always the best but you can deal with it.

I came here for dinner on a Friday night with a friend and my father. It seemed to be a pretty slow night for the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and well lit. We were greeted immediately upon entering and our server, Michelle, was amazing. She was very attentive. We ordered wings for the table, I ordered the chicken parm, my father ordered the chicken Marsala, and my friend also ordered the chicken penne a la vodka. All three of us were very satisfied with our entrees. The garlic rolls they serve are very tasty as well as the wings. What's cool about the wings is that they are baked, not fried! The servings are generous, enough to take some home. Overall I had a great experience here and will definitely come back. I don't understand the low ratings from other Yelpers, I would say to give it another shot if you had a bad experience once before. Oh.... and the cheesecake...... save room for the cheesecake! :D

The pizza is OK but I'm not quite sure if they know what they're doing in there. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to make me 2 slices of pizza. I had 0 lunch break left to eat it. That was ridiculous. I'm never going back because of that.

The service is inattentive bordering on rude. The food is okay. My calzone was kind of oily and could have used some spices in the cheese mixture. There is no changing table in the restroom, and this is supposed to be a family restaurant. There's definitely room for one. When we mentioned it to the owner, his only comment was that yeah, a lot of people ask about that.

I went again with my cousin and her boyfriend. Once again we got lunch specials, (Chicken Francese, Chicken Marsala, Baked Ziti). Also, note that the menu that they give you (I assume for lunch) is not the full menu because they actually have a lot more dishes than the regular menu which is lunch on one side and dinner on the other. The garlic rolls this time had a good amount of grated Parmesan cheese on them and were more crusty/crunchy this time instead of very soft since I last came here. What was a little puzzling was whereas last time we were served I think 5 garlic rolls for 2 people, this time we were only given 4 for 3 people. I got the Caesar salad this time with my lunch and I'm pretty sure it's made fresh which is great because too many places make it beforehand (not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that) and by then doesn't taste as fresh. My cousin's Italian salad she said was still a bit on the saucy side. As for my Baked Ziti, it was quite good, a big amount with the right amount of sauce (although I'm the type that prefers more sauce) and a hint of ricotta cheese in each bite. My cousin's Chicken Marsala this time was swimming in sauce which I think isn't that great for the dishes because they're square with raised rims around the outside that can easily spill sauce all over the place if you're not careful. She said the Marsala wine wasn't completely cooked out and there was too much of a butter taste...I didn't really taste the wine and I don't think it was terribly heavy on the butter but I suppose I would like more of the Marsala taste. Her boyfriend's Chicken Francese came with rigatoni as opposed to spaghetti/linguini. I haven't had Francese too often so I can't comment on how the sauce should taste like, but it also had a bit of a butter taste to it but not terribly overpowering the lemon white wine combination. The chicken was very tender which I like but others may find too mushy for their tastes. I also had a big slice of cheese ($2.25) which was on point and thin NY style like when I get some at Bleecker St Pizza in Manhattan. All in all this is probably my go to place for Italian since I live so close but come very hungry because between the rolls, salad, and big portions of your entree, you'll be full. Also, the waitress was very nice and attentive.

Terrible food. Overpriced and no flavor. Ordered wings, garlic rolls, meat lover and veggie supreme pizza It cost $60 dollars and I actually gnawed on and ate some of the cardboard box and got more flavor than 90% of the food that was delivered. I can't believe how much it cost and how crappy it was The pizza was completely saturated and had the crust had the consistency of a wet noodle. The veggie pizza tasted like wet bread and olives.....that's it. The garlic rolls were burnt, floating in melted butter and crispy due to being stale more than actually being toasted. The only almost saving grace, was the meat-atarian pizza which had some flavor, but looked like 'pizza the hut' from spaceballs with little appealing qualities to it.

I ordered take out late one night. The lady, who I assume is the owner, was very rude on the phone. I went to pick up the food and the same lady was being very rude and obnoxious to guests who were there for a breast cancer fundraiser. Not too sure if she was drinking, but she was walking by and bumped into me to the point that I lost my balance and she didn't even apologize. I'm not too sure what those people did to her but I heard her calling them a wholr bunch of inappropriate names. Very unprofessional. Now on to the food. I got a cheese pizza and some garlic rolls. The garlic rolls were dripping in grease. The pizza, which they gave me a pepperoni instead of cheese, was super greasy. You can tell the food is made from cheap products. Will never eat here again probably.

Food was alright for a local Italian restaurant. The kitchen on the other hand is slower than molasses. Our waitress was gave us attention, but a couple others were bogged down and had sour pusses on their faces. Probably going to take a picture of this place, cause I am not coming back.

Not so great! We went here awhile back. Slow service, food, mediocre at best. Its local, let's give them a chance to redeem themselves. Redeem, I think they buried themselves deeper. More than half of our pick up order was wrong. Called to discuss the problems...here are a couple, like half of the toppings missing on our salad, incorrect toppings on our pizza, yadda yadda..It all of the sudden became my fault. The lady was arguing with me. THE CUSTOMER. Do yourself a favor, find yourself the next Italian restaurant. There are a million out there.

Don't be fooled by all the negative reviews! Yes if you're in a hurry then you won't have time to eat here because everything is made fresh to order. The food is excellent and the portions are ginormous! My favorite is the Penne Alla Vodka but I've had lots of other things as well. Everything I've had is great including the garlic rolls which the garlic sauce is made from scratch along with the salad dressing and everything else. The food does take a little while but that's because again it's all made fresh from scratch! They also have great specials Mon is 2-4-1 pizza Tue buy 1 entree get the 2nd half off and Wed 2-4-1 pasta entrees. And you get a ton of food enough for you to eat and take left overs for lunch or dinner the next day. So again don't be fooled by the negative reviews this place is great!

The service was ok, I didn't have to wait too long for the food. I ordered pizza margarita and was good. The iced tea was terrible, I changed it for a lemonade and was too sweet that couldn't drink it either. I ordered the canoli dessert and wasn't bad but not great.

I almost didn't try this place because some of the reviews were negative. So glad that I went anyway. The garlic rolls were delicious! Instead of being coated in garlicky oil like most Italian restaurants, they use melted butter. They were so good I had to restrain myself so I didn't lick the bowl. They were also free. Most restaurants will give you a few when you order a meal and you pay extra if you want more, but not here. I thought about canceling my pasta and asking for about 50 more rolls- they were that yummy. Thank goodness I didn't. The rigatoni with bolognese sauce was just as delicious as the rolls. A very generous portion and the price was reasonable. I had enough leftover for dinner the next night (yay!). The waitress (a member of the family that owns it) was kind enough to give us extra rolls to take home to eat with our leftovers (double yay!) My son had the kid's spaghetti and meatball. Also a very generous order that he took half of home. Average price for a kid's meal $5 or $6, and his drink was included. I don't know if "my" caesar salad was good or not because my son ate it all. I'm going to go with yes since it disappeared pretty quickly. That boy loves caesar salad! Anyway! We have eaten here a second time in less than a week now. The second trip, I tried the Chicken parmigiana dinner. Let's just say the plate was empty when it went back to the kitchen. I'm pretty sure I had a dream about the rolls last night....

First of all, there are several items on the menu that are misspelled. Sorry, but if you're an Italian running an Italian restaurant, you should know how to spell words like "gnocchi." The staff was nice but service was slow, and it wasn't busy. Then there's the food ... Blech. The garlic rolls have this weird sauce that tastes like it comes out of a bottle. They're garlic rolls; no need to reinvent the wheel! The salad was served in a tiny square bowl that made it really hard to eat the salad. Again, don't reinvent the wheel. The dressing tasted bottled, too. The pasta we had was mediocre. The sauce was oily. My husband did say that the broccoli in his pasta tasted fresh, but we both had upset stomachs that night, so there's no way we'd ever go back to this place!

The closest thing to New York pizza when not in New York. the pizza was made fresh and very tasty could not eat it all the salad who needs Olive Garden when you have a great salad fresh made in a big bowl the garlic butter rolls well it all up will be back even though we're 15 miles away it is worth the drive. I don't understand the other reviews must be from cheap as grumpy people

Decided to finally stop by and try out the food. The placed was packed on a Friday night and I was immediately greeted and treated to a soft drink as I waited for my take out order. The stuffed ravioli my son had was delicious. I loved their red sauce! The italian dinner salad and the caprese wrap was very tasteful. We then placed an order for delivery and they were on time (45-1hr they had stated) and the veggie pizza and baked zitti was delish! So far so good!

Tried the place a couple of times and that's a couple times too many. The pizza isn't horrible, but close to it. My girlfriend visited once and said everything was terrible, flavorless, poor quality and the service was "eh". The delivery took a long time to show up and it's expensive at that. And if that's not enough, the owner Joey Scuotto is a Sunrise Commissioner and very self-serving. He's trying to shut down food trucks to give himself an advantage - that's dirty and good enough reason for everyone to stay far away from this dump. Food tasted bad, questionable quality, slow delivery and a terrible owner. Not a single reason to visit this place.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
