Have dined in and ordered delivery a few times. Nice inside. Staff seems a little inexperienced, but nice. The food is good, but a little pricey. My son orders a kids pasta, which isn't much, that costs $9. He enjoys it, but I'm still not getting my money's worth. Pizza is priced great and tasted great! Overall the food is pretty good, just some menu items are overpriced. Will continue to go.

My wife and I came here for lunch and were greeted quickly. This place is an eat in or take out hybrid. We chose our seats and ordered a few items off the menu. The service was fine and attentive. The first two items we ordered were the parmesan chicken wings. The window said they were voted best wings. I would argue... We also ordered some bruccetta*. Now I enjoyed the wings just fine however my wife thought they were dry. These wings were medium size and the crispiness was even. There were a few over cooked wings but they still had some good flavor. I did enjoy their homemade blue cheese. Well maybe not homemade but it wasn't the cheap stuff that most places use. The bruccetta was ok. Nice flavor but lots of bread. This item came out looking very nice. I ordered two slices of white pizza while my wife ordered some onion soup. Her soup was very bland. Not sure if it was a bad batch of what but every other item we tried had a strong taste. My pizza had an over powering flavor of garlic. I thought it was good but I desperately needed to brush my teeth after this one. All of the above was only $29. So good prices. We were stuffed. Sure we would go back again. But only out of convenience.

I have to say, this place has to have the worst customer service. I purchased a coupon book that Sals advertises in. Buy one pizza get one free. Well I ordered a pizza and they said I have to order 3 toppings 26 dollars later I got a cheese pizza free!! Plus they charged for delivery. I could have ordered 3 pizzas anywhere else for the Same price. Very rude on the phones as well. Had to do multiple orders to get more than 1 pizza delivered to the same place and they charged a second delivery fee as well. Fool me once. Shame on you!!! Never again!!

Great pizza place, good pasta and garlic rolls. But I have to say the tiramisu and cannolis are the best thing there!!!!!

Good pizza and pasta. We usually get it to go so I cant comment on the service but the restaurant is clean and our order is usually ready to go right on time.

The food is horrible and overpriced. Not only that, they gave us no utensils, napkins, salad dressing.,,nothing. Don't waste your time or money here.

Inedible. Nothing was good. Waitstaff and GM very nice but the food was so bad and not cheap. Very disappointed. Mozzarella sticks had no mozzarella in them because they cooked them too long. Veal Milanese was not veal. Chicken breast was so overcooked I couldnt eat it.

I was around the Sawgrass area heading to a concert at the BB&T and search for Italian restaurants. Found a good review for Sal's restaurant and decided to go. I was with mu family. The menu looks big with many options. We order the following: Fried Mozarella- they were not that hot but warm. Taste was bland My daughters ordered the kids penne pasta with Alfredo and marinara sauce. The marinara sauce was a little bit spicy for their taste and had to change to tomato sauce. My husband and I ordered the Fettucine Bolognese. It came with a split pea soup. Soup was delicious. The main entree taste good not great. It was also a warm plate and not hot. Overall maybe the location is more known for pizza but what we ordered I give from a 1 to 10, I would say a 7.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Service is terrible and food is bland. I am shocked this establishment is still in business. Prices were absurdly high for The quality of this cafeteria-like "hot plate" food

Greeted from the moment we walked through the door. Our takeout order was placed immediately and we we're only told 10-15 minutes. They asked if we wanted it cooked regular or crispy (of course I wanted it crispy). Pizza was walked to our table and we we're greeted on our way out by multiple employees. I will drive from Plantation to this location for pizza from now on :)

Delicious! Today we are having a pepperoni, onion, and cheese pizza and an order of wings!!!! I love eating here. The pizza is fresh and always served hot. The Caribbean grilled chicken salad is next on my list of things to try. Nice establishment and staff is knowledgable about what they serve. Ill definitely be recommending this place to a my friends for a quick lunch break getaway.

This is my 'I'm too lazy to cook' dinner delivery night. The kids love it. I have to say, their Sicilian pizza is to die for. And the prices are just right

Ok so we wanted pizza the other night and decided to try Sals again....well good news...,this time the pizza was definitely warmer than the first time and tasted really good!!!! Sals you have redeemed yourself!!! Woo hoo!!! I found my new take out pizza place!!!

First few times we ordered we loved the food. Last 2 times, terrible. Last time we ordered it was delivered cold and the salmon bruschetta had NO bruschetta. They re delivered only the salmon, we had to reheat everything else. Against my better judgement, we ordered again tonight. $78 worth of food. The chicken florentine had NO flavor and the pasta it came with had no sauce, not that it would've mattered, I added butter and garlic it still had no flavor. Just threw away all their menus. Will NOT order from this place again. I'd order mediocre Italian over this any day.

Really, 3.5 I have eaten in the restaurant 2x...both times at lunch having a special. First time had the 'world famous' lunch special. It is a slice of pizza, 1/2 sub and salad or soup. I tried the eggplant parm. It was a little mushy...but I am very picky about eggplant parm. Salad was good...loved the balsamic vinaigrette. Pizza was pretty good. I like that they serve pizza by the slice. Reasonably priced for lunch and for the amount of food...plus they have a buy 9 get 10th meal free (double punches on Mondays)...service was a little weird and we never were able to figure out who our server actually was, since 3 people took care of is and the person who took our order never came back...even after she offered us rolls (which we never received). 2nd time went by myself. Service was on point. Had the Sicilian and salad special. It was okay. Wouldn't really order again. It wasn't bad...just not the best. Salad was nice and fresh. In between visits we had a catering order. Everything was DELICIOUS! Food arrived hot and on time. They did forget a few things (minor things) and gave us a penne instead of linguine. We called. They returned in 10 minutes with 2 large linguine servings and the missing red pepper & parm cheese. Great service! Would definitely order catering from them again.

Lasagna was excellent prepared with fresh ingredients and tasty flavor, but mantains that home-made touch. Service is good and the ambiance really nice.

I alway spoke well to my family about their garlic rolls and had the worst experience. I bought a dozen to surprise them for dinner and they where stale/hard we couldn't eat them. For some reason when we order them at work there warm and soft.

This place is truly my "go-to". I'm Italian and sometimes I need a quick fix... Sal's always deliver to my doorstep quickly and with food that brings much satisfaction. From the pasta to the pizza, my favorite being the chicken parmigiana pizza, I easily give the restaurant 5 stars!

Sal's will definitely give you quality food and attentive service. I'm so happy I found this establishment. We decided to go for a family dinner. We needed seating for 11 people. Once we walked in within a few minutes the staff accommodated us. I enjoy the fact that the restaurant brings in the local crowd. You must try their wings, surprisingly delicious. Everyone raved about them, I know its random eating wings in an Italian restaurant. They are a good appetizer! Their pizza is very good, everyone compared it to the New York Pizza. One thing to note is that when you have big group dining together, the restaurant includes the 18% gratuity in the tab.

Yelp, you come through again! Moving into a new area it is tough when you don't know where to grab a bite to eat. I whip out the Yelp app, see Sal's and say..."You know what, I can do Italian tonight." At my old place we found this awesome Italian place that made amazing dishes but even better canolis. Now that that location is 45 miles away, we won't be going there anymore.....but thank god we got Sal's! I ordered over the phone for a pick up. The guy on the phone was so polite (I see that's how it's done up here) and told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I live 2 minutes away. Got there, picked it up and for $26 we got: 2 Soups - Broccoli cheese and eggplant. Eggplant a little salty but they were both good. 2 orders of bread - got garlic and non-garlic rolls. GARLIC is the way to go! 1 Lasagna - Large dish that I almost couldn't finish - but the combo of being hungry and it being SO good was enough to make me scrape the aluminum container. 1 Stuffed Raviolis - About 6 large raviolis stuffed with riccotta in a delicious red sauce (and I hate red sauce, but this was goooood.) 2 Canolis - they were HUGE! Had a subtle hint of cinnamon. They were good....not convinced they were GREAT - but I am willing to try them again to make sure...Oh, the things I do for Yelp! Overall it was a great Italian meal and will be our go to spot when ordering Italian. Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Sitting at the table right now! They close in two hours and they told me they stopped serving pizza by the slice. How does a Italian joint stop selling pizza by the slice? Salads are $10+ and pastas $15+! My friend wasn't even close to be done eating when the waiter gave him a to go box and the check (we were going to get desert)! Then he apologized that I didn't get my food, TO MY FRIEND, didn't even look at me when he apologized! My friends calzone was not good, the fried mozzarella tasted worse than bowling alley mozzarella sticks. Absolutely ridiculous, will never come back and will never recommend this place to anyone.

I normally don't post or comment on any places I visit, but in this case it's a must, last night aprox 9pm my wife and i and my two kids including a family of 3 others visit this place for the first time, the food had no flavor the new dish on menu when I asked the waitress if its prepared from scratch "she said no" ( I should have know then ) well we ate left and shortly after I got home started with stomach ache, yes diarrhea !!! Note: my wife didn't eat. I come to find out that the other family that came with us also got sick, yes all 3 members of the family with diarrhea adding to this that 11 year old had to pay a visit to the doctor today. Yes I will never visit this place again. I don't recommend to eat here ever.

Good food at a great price. The ambiance is laid back and the service is fast and friendly. We ordered the garlic roll. They were ok, but nothing out of this world. Missing more kick. The tomato soup was creamy and warm and really hit the spot. Flavors werent overpowering and mixed in a really yummy way. The pizza was great. The cheese was good quality and the sauce was just right. Great place to hit up before a concert!

Delicious food, served hot. Pizza by the slice. Gnocchi almost like my grandmother used to make (which is hard to do). Very impressed.

Was excited to see there was a Sal's close to Sawgrass. Had the best service of any restaurant I have been to in years. Great pizza, even better garlic rolls. Will be back soon.

2.5 Almost at 3... My issue with this location is that I can't seem to ever get a hot pizza. The taste is average, the crust is average and it's not burned or poorly made but I like my pizza to be hot, not like slightly warm, I am always having to tell them to please make it hotter. I do find that the pizza is greasy more than I would like or consider to be average. I like there Mozzarella sticks, there fried good, they use good oil because there nice and light not dark, but again I like them to be hot. There's nothing better than eating a Mozzarella stick has have the cheese drip down and melt. It's a bummer not to see that happen but the food is warm not hot. The Tomato soup is average, it doesn't blow me away and can be greasy at times but I guess you can say its hit or miss. I wonder if it's made fresh or if they take it from a can and then heat it up or keep it hot in a warmer ? There garlic rolls are pretty good, you might want to check those out. I like there espressos love them, I always make it a doppio. The service is average to above. I've never had a compliant or concern, this location is next to my job some I typically come in during lunch hour for there lunch specials or more often than not pizza. There is a lot of people and traffic in this shopping center to make sure to come early around 11:45 so you don't get caught up in the madness of people leaving the office for lunch.

Sal's - You are our bestest friend. We spend many nights together, and you are always there for us when we are hungry. We call you up and you deliver our food within 45 minutes. It's always fresh and hot; the consistency every time is spot on. The pizza quite simply rocks, as does the salads, chicken dishes, and even the buffalo wings! Thank you thank you thank you! In kind, we are loyal to you. We hope this never ends; we're enjoying the ride of having a regular italian pizza joint that delivers this close to home! See you again next week! Signed, Your Loving Fans!

Marinara sauce tastes like chef boyardee spaghettios. A la vodka sauce was like it has been in a pot all day. Gnocchi was also overcooked. The only redeeming quality worth a star was the friendly staff.

3-stars = just OK. Good menu. Good service. Clean restaurant. But the food didn't taste right. I cant exactly put my finger on it... but the chicken Parmesan tasted like a pre-cooked, pre-breaded chicken patty that was defrosted and covered with sauce and cheese. The sauce tasted canned. The soup was way too salty. The salad dressings from a jar. It just didn't taste fresh and scratch made. Just "ok"

Service is about average...food is below average compared to other Italian food places around here.

For a "chain", this was pretty good. Some creative menu items not found in a typical pizzeria. (We didn't have the pizza.) For appetizers, we had the eggplant bruschetta and stuffed banana peppers. The balsamic glaze on the bruschetta was thick and overbearing. I know balsamic is all the rage these days, but a subtle hint of it over a fresh caponato would be the better way to go. The banana peppers were good, and an "A" for effort in my campaign against bland food, but could have used a little more depth of flavor. For dinner, I had the veal with marsala cream. A little too much cream, not enough marsala. Pasta was cooked properly, and the veal was cut properly. The kids had the ravioli and cleaned their plates. The service was prompt , friendly, and unintrusive. All in all, if they do some fine tuning on their saucing, this place could be a real winner.

I like this place. Its not fine dining so don't expect it to be, but it is a great casual place. You get a lot of food for the price too. Go for it, they deliver too. The only thing I'm not crazy about is it seems like something is always missing from my delivery order, so be sure to check that you have everything .

Went in for a business lunch and ordered a chicken parmigiana sub. Should be pretty standard fare for a place called Sal's right? Think again! When lunch arrived I ate the first half of my sub which was simply OK. More like a chicken fingers sub but it's just lunch. Went to eat the second half and it's not chicken but eggplant! How did that happen? Server and manager were very nice and offered to "rush" the replacement. I put rush in quotes because the service here is awfully slow. I was ready to leave so I asked for it to go. Well I just got back to my office and when I went to put it in the fridge I looked in the container and it"s MEATBALL! Two chances to get an order right and blew both of them! Average food and mediocre service. Two stars is a stretch but since everyone was polite and seemed to be trying I'll give it to them.

Great little place near Sawgrass Mills. Typical pizza joint but a little more class. Clean and neat and the food is made fresh to order. Pizza slices are made to order from pre-cooked pizzas however (see display unit). Sal's offers a $7.99 large cheese pizza for take-out only on Monday and Tuesday. Cash only and NO delivery for that price.

I haven't ate pizza in years...why?because south Florida knows nothing about pizza. I've been craving pizza for a couple weeks and I ended up at sal's. I got the new Yorker. Wow.fresh ingrediants ...omg yes! Freshnesss. And not to much grease! Nothing worse then a slime pie. Ill be back.. it not the best...but I haven't found better in south Florida. The service was great! The decor is traditional and clean!

I am a huge fan of this place. They have a lunch special for $6.99. It comes with half a hot sub, a cub of soup or salad, and a slice of pizza. For a dollar more you can upgrade the slice to a gourmet one. The pasta fagioli soup was incredible. Next time I come here, I want to order a quart to go. Nice and thick, great bean taste, with al dente pasta. The meatball parm had the perfect amount of cheese and sauce on it. The bread wis light and airy. The pizza is on a thinner crust but is nice and crispy. i opted for a gourmet slice, it had mushrooms, artichokes, and gorgonzola cheese on it. It had a lot of complex favors going on. I was not able to finish everything but I wanted to. I had to catch a hockey game at BB&T otherwise I would have taken the food to go. The staff is all very friendly and quick. They constantly refilled our waters. The restrooms are also nice and clean. I am definitely coming back here.

Cheese pizza was okay nothing to write home about I've had a lot better. And for the price of this pizza and the quality of it was not worth it to me. I've been to New York Chicago Rome so I've had better pizza. On my stay here in Florida for the past five months I have been trying quite a few pizza places and I've yet to find one pizza that is actually flavorful and tastes like a real pizza. I read reviews of people saying this place in that place has great pizza not to sound arrogant or conceited but I really feel sorry for these people that think the pizza here in Florida is great. The only thing I can think of is that these people have not experienced pizza and other places such as New York City Chicago Las Vegas California and even Rome Italy. If I could share a real good pizza with the people of Florida I would certainly do it so that they could experience a real good tasty pizza in their lifetime because I've yet to find one pizza in Florida that is actually above and beyond what I've had in other places outside of Florida. Sorry Florida but your dining experience just isn't living up to the rest of the country!

Love Sals! Took my husband here to try something new. We love it. Their dinner special is awesome! Choose a dish, get salad, garlic rolls, coffee and dessert?? yes please! I really like their baked ziti, but have also enjoyed their pizza, eggplant parm, and this last time we got the calzones. Excellent every time.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
