Love this place!! Chef salad is bomb, garlic bread, pretty much everything!! They deliver, but sometimes they can take a bit during lunch time because they are a small restaurant. Def worth the wait. Even the drivers are courteous!!

My husband and I used to always order from here when we lived out that way. Being that we were visiting family not too far, we decided to order from Poppys. We ordered 3 large Philly Cheesesteaks and an order of Cheese Fries. When my husband came back, they left out one of the cheesesteaks. He didn't feel like trekking back so I ended up sharing half my sandwich with him. Although the food was delicious, they should make sure they are giving their guests what they want.

This place is an EASY 5 stars when they cook to order. Last night was the 3rd time in 6 times I've order and received a pre cooked reheated slice pizza pie as the pizza pie I ordered. I ordered a large and they gave me a XL pizza being in the Italian restaurant industry this is a "deeeeead giveaway", also I order 20wings while I was there a customer called and canceled "a 10 piece wing" well when I got home it I had two 10 pieces instead of a 20 piece in same packaging. I understand you don't want that to go to waste but that part of the business don't pawn that on me that is paying for fresh cooked food not food canceled by a customer. All in all when cooked to order there is no better just disappointing that such a busy place try's to cut corners and cost at the paying customers expense. I will eat here again but I will be sure to mention "fresh cooked food" before we hang up.

Poppy's was my go-to place for food on my way home from Piper HS. Today 11 years later they are still so good. I've had their hot and cold subs. I love their fresh bread, and the meatballs are so delicious. A pizza slice or whole pizza is amazing, the dough is fresh and the cheese is cheesy, lol. I've also enjoyed their baked pastas and dessert Zeppelin. The only thing that's annoying for me every time I pick up my order is the crowd of people inside waiting for their order as well. The space is ridiculously small.

GOOD PIZZA FOR A GREAT PRICE!!! The only downside is that delivery takes a little longer than other places but that's no problem because it's right by my place so I can go pick it up.

3:00 Monday 2/2/15 Soo ordered large half cheese half pepperoni and two liter over forty five minutes ago.... Still no pizza. Delivery was to a home very close to restaurant location. 3:15 back was told very professionally the pizza was ready but there was no driver to deliver our order. Was not offered a fresh pizza, a discount, or anything. 3:20pm Called back again. Asked to speak with a manager. Dude was super rude. Basically yelled at me. Cancelled order. 3:24called papa johns. Received great service. I'm a fine dining restaurant manager and couldn't imagine how you could keep customers with service like this. How good could the food be? Guess I'll never know because I would never try and order it again.

The best pizza in South Florida. The pepperoni pizza and the "special" are my top two from an excellent menu. You can get a regular style or a deep dish. The deli sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and wings are noteworthy as well. You really can't go wrong ordering from Poppy's. The location has zero seating available, orders to pickup your food or delivery are your only options. When picking up, there is about a five foot by five foot space through the door you walk into and pay. You can see the entire staff working away putting together orders. The staff is short and to the point. Those who are easily offended will find them off putting, but I have an appreciation for it. They want to give you excellent food and get you out the door so the next guy can get in. I frequent this location, mainly during football season when it's time for pizza and wings.

Great pizza!! delivery was fast. The pizza was how we ordered it. I was very happy will order from here again again. I can't wait for pizza night. My only complaint was the garlic rolls were very over powering with garlic.

When you first saw pictures of BP's oil spill, did you immediately think " God I want to put that in my body", if so, you still might find poppy's pizza ( more like grease'zza) a bit too oily. That being said, the rest of my family loves it here, and even I cannot deny that they have both excellent prices , and very generous staff

Excellent, delicious and inexpensive!!! I am very picky and this is one of my favorite places. You can pick up or get delivery if you live in the area. I love the pizza, chicken parmigiano sub and the Philly cheese steak

The guy making the pizza was so lazy that he didn't roll out the dough enough. As a result I got a half cooked sponge with sauce and cheese. This place is weak! I doubt I'll go back. I also don't get all the 4 & 5 star reviews of this place; they must be by people who like dominoes, Pizza Hut, and papa johns. There are so many people writing reviews on here that don't belong.

Had the sub here out of desperation & its mediocre as it gets Average amount of meat Soft bread but too much of it & not enough veggies sauce on that so called chicken parm would make chef boyardee roll in his grave

Great neighborhood eatery.....,weekly Friday night ritual after football games wings are the best. The subs are substantial portions I can NEVER eat a while one in one sitting. A little cramped so try to order for pick up.

I'm downgrading my review to 3 stars because we ordered a bunch of stuff from them on saturday night and it took them an hour and a half to deliver the food!! They are just a mile up the road from us and it took them that long, even though it was saturday night theres still no excuse. When the delivery guy got there he said NOTHING, not even a hello or anything. No personality whatsover and we tipped him $15.00 on our credit card. I think the pizza has gone downhill over the years. I remember the pizza at poppy's was much better in the 90's. Plus the other night I was comparing it to the pizza we get here in coral springs at giovanni's and giovanni's pizza is MUCH better. Their wings are really good and so is their salads. I will give them that. When we visit my parents home in sunrise we will probably continue to order poppy's if we can't find another place to order from but we will try to find someplace else. This hole in the wall is starting to turn into a hole in the wall.

Don't let the appearance of the plaza affect your decision to try this little carry spot. The pizza and garlic rolls were great!! And so was the customer service. We ordered a pizza with sausage, pepperoni, bacon and meatballs...... yummy!!!

This place is great. I've been eating Poppy's for about 13 years now. It's a small, hole in the wall place, in a ghetto little strip mall... But don't let appearances fool you. The pizza is great, the garlic rolls are garlicy and yummy, and the pasta with eggplant dish is delish! Get an order of zepps, fried pizza dough doused in powered sugar.... They are to die for!

Great hole-in-the-wall pizza place on the southwest corner of University and 44th street! It's right across the street from my new job, so I just walk there. They have a 2 slice NY style cheese special with a can of soda for $5 (cheaper than Annie's in Coral Springs and the slices are just as big). That is a solid deal. It can get crowded during lunch hour, so it would be best to call ahead, place an order, and pick it up later. There is no table/chair/anywhere to sit besides the sidewalk; Poppy's is a place to pick up good pizza and go back to work to enjoy it.

We tried this place from a tip on a local blog. We were just going to pick up something quick to take home for dinner. When we got there, the tiny place was pretty crowded, so I figured it was going to be a good experience. The crowding, however, turned out to be an issue. There was no place to sit, which was an issue for me, and I ended up going out and standing in the sun, just so I had room to breathe. It took a lot longer than I thought it should just to get a sub. My daughter and I had decided on the meatball sub. We ordered the "extra large," so we would have enough for the two of us and at almost $17 we figured it was going to be a mammoth sandwich. It was large - pretty much in the way a Subway footlong is large. It wasn't extra large and certainly not a $17 sandwich. It was barely enough for the two of us. It was however, good and I'm pretty picky about meatballs. I am curious about the pizza, but probably won't be going back.

This is a place that you would typically drive by and not notice but had a friend recommend it so figured I would give it a try. I have been to this place once. Ordered the meatball sub. The sandwich was fairly big, large enough to share but expensive for what you got. I haven't tried anything else. I'm curious to try the pizzas but would definitely try to go during a time when they were running a special.

Poppy's is great, easily the best "TO GO" pizza west of 95. You can't eat in at all, and the pick up space is standing room only, and often very packed. I have tried several places and this one is always delicious. We've turned some friends away from their usual, closer pizza joint into Poppy's lovers and now they make the drive when the get a pie. If you don't believe me just pick up a pizza and see how it is always packed! The staff is blunt and sometimes rude, but it adds to their charm, and the pizza is so good it doesn't even hurt their business a bit. If you aren't a jerk or dummy then they are great to work with and give me a laugh while I'm waiting when they refuse to take crap from those customers who are a bit denser. They deliver too if you don't want to stand packed in with a bunch of other folks waiting for the best pizza around.

I have been eating Poppy's Pizza since 2002. The things I love the most are: The pizza (cheese, whilte, sausage) The Chicken Caesar Salad The Tuna Sub Zepolies I have always had this delivered so I cannot comment on the actually place but i LOVE to order from here when we order from work. The slices of pizza are pretty big and even the smallest sub is a pretty decent size.

We've done delivery or take out from this neat hole in the wall place three times so far since moving to the area several weeks ago. We love it! We normally get the deep dish "special" and I would recommend it. We recently ordered the medium wings and although they weren't as spicy as we expected they had a decent amount of meat on the bone. With football season underway I foresee us ordering from here often. We've had no problems with service. Keep in mind that this place has no seating. It's take out and delivery only.

pizza was greasy , but not in a good way. took for ever to get my order, and after they had to re take it because they messed it up it came out way overcooked, so we decided to just leave right then . would never go to this place again.

I Have been ordering from this place for years.... Last night we ordered a pie and my girl friend wanted chicken wings... The food came and chicken wings were not up to par... Almost tasted rubbery.. My girl friend called them to see if they could just give us a credit to replace the wings the next time we order... The girl she spoke to was real rude and told her that "we would only be able to replace them or give you a 3 dollar credit for our next order." My girl friend explained that she could just eat some of the pizza and that if they would just give us a credit for the next time that would be great the girl told her again we could replace them or give you the 3 dollar credit. Mind you the wings cost 8 dollars and change. She must have handed the phone to her boss who told her they could replace the wings, or give us the 3 dollar credit, or now the third option was to have the delivery driver come back to our house and pick up the wings and give us back our money, but according to the guy she spoke to "when we pick them up there better not be 5 wings missing!" (There were 9.5 of the 10 wings left) The guy then explained that there haven't been any complaints all night about his wings and was obviously trying to accuse her of attemping to scam them. She told him that we order from them all the time (which we do) but he didn't want to hear it. They ended up agreeing to send the driver back to pick up the wings and give us a refund. Which we thought about it and with gas at 4 dollars a gallon again it wasn't fair for the driver to have to come back, so she called back once again and told them that we would drop them off. When she did got there they were still as rude as could be even after seeing all the wings were there... No apology or anything ... Don't know how these people have been around so long treating their loyal customers like this but I can asure you that we will not be back and will certainly share our experience with everyone we know.

Ok so there food is the bomb!! My favorites are the tuna, Philly cheesesteak, chicken cutlets, wings and the pizza. As far as the service, One of the chicks that answer the phones is a total biatch!! and one of their drivers is really creepy, always trying to walk in my house and ogling me and saying creepy stuff. But I still love their food more than I hate their service.

I'm actually really surprised about all of the good reviews that this place has on here. This place is disgusting. I've ordered from here many times, and it seems to have gotten worse with each visit. Tonight I got the eggplant parmigiana, and I must have forgotten how horrible it is because it almost made me sick. It cost me a hefty $13.25. Way over-priced for poor quality. Big Louie's on Sunrise Blvd. on the east side of town charges $10.99 for their eggplant parmigiana and the quality is much much better there. The sauce is gross here and there was an ant crawling out of my salad box. The girls taking the orders are rude. I get there and it's crowded out the door to the point where I couldn't even walk in. It's tiny and dirty inside. Again, surprised at the crowd. Over-flowing with idiots that don't know real Italian. They used to be slightly better, but it has gone straight to the dumps.

Best pizza in the area! Huge slices, better than any other pizza place in the area by far. The place is really tiny so if it's busy you might not even fit inside. There's one lady on the phone that other people seem to complain about that has an attitude. Other than that the pizza is great. A rude lady on the phone won't deter me from getting some excellent pizza.

First time ordering delivery from Poppies, was in the mood for a great Pizza, seems hard to find in the Plantation... Sunrise area...This pizza arrived luke warm and was pretty good but not GREAT! Meatball appetizer was diappointing, very small meatballs! Friendly and helpful staff

GThe pizza here was really good and their tuna sub was out of this world. I am still for the search of a great pizza joint, but this one came close. It is a very small location and they only do take-out and delivery. The location is a little hidden, but the staff is very friendly. I would definately visit here again.

  • RP L.

I was at the salon when the stylist kindly suggested to place an order at Poppy's. When we called the lady who answered the phone had a very nasty attitude. You don't keep business that way! No one originally gave us a window on when the pizza will get there but when we called back 30mins later on the status of the pizza the Lady was so nasty on the phone. The first person we talked to seem to be a younger girl she was nicer but seem new. But that other ONE was a piece of work and I just happen to have the phone on speaker and everyone in the salon heard how nasty she was and decided they won't order from there again. We cancelled our order too because we couldn't buy from someone who spoke very nasty and in a demeaning voice. This person couldn't have been an owner because the owner of a business take pride in the customers they get and do everything they can to keep them. This is the first and last time I will order from there.

Im so surprised that there no reviews for this local joint. One of the best of its own. It s a take out pizzeria but they are famous for their subs. Their best is the Tuna! OMG, i have no idea what they put in it but let me tell you that it is to die 4! Always fresh food, fast service and friendly staff. Huge portions and very moderately priced.

GThe pizza here was really good and their tuna sub was out of this world. I am still for the search of a great pizza joint, but this one came close. It is a very small location and they only do take-out and delivery. The location is a little hidden, but the staff is very friendly. I would definately visit here again.
