Freshly sliced meats and veggies piled on your choice of bread is the best way to describe the deliciousness of that sub. The biggest drawback is the time it takes for your sandwich to be made. However, with the meat and cheese for each sub sliced just for you and only the owner behind the counter, I think the extra time is expected and fair. My biggest recommendation is to fax your order in ahead of time so it will be ready for you to pick up when you get there.

I had The works sandwich the name says so much definitely worth going out of your way to try this sandwich shop pictures don't do it justice so I ate mine before I made this review it was so goodI feeling guilty I didn't get two. The owner keeps blasting disco era music from his DJ days while waiting to get your sandwich it was stirrup all kind of memories if you're of the disco 80s I'm a fan of the disco age and the sandwich shop

I've passed this place 1000 times and never saw it. Found it here on yelp and happy I did Owner, Louie is a very nice guy and he makes a mean sandwich. Fresh bread, fresh roast beef and lots of it I will be back for sure

After spending a morning full of fabulousity and bellinis with my bestie, my hubby announced that he was taking us out for lunch. We weren't really sure what we wanted to eat but trusted that he wouldn't disappoint. We got to Louie K's and we were immediately impressed by how clean this place is. Im a HUGE fan of cleanliness and this place its as clean as it gets. The owner greeted us and started working on our sandwiches. (Cool side note; you have a checklist for your sandwich and you get to pick and choose meats, cheeses, and condiments) I order a medium, ham and roast beef, toasted sandwich with provolone and swiss cheese and ketchup, mustard and mayo, banana peppers, pickles and tomatoes. WHOA! My sandwich was probably the BEST sandwich i've ever had! I was blown away by how fresh the ingredients were (he sliced the meat and cheese right before putting them in our sandwich). I was really stuffed half way through but I couldnt stop eating..its was THAT good. I sacrificed dessert, I couldnt let half of that goodness go to waste. I cant wait to come back and try some other sandwiches. I was really really impressed and I would recommend to anyone looking for good good food.

I have been going there for quite a few years. His preparation is excellent and the place is always spotless. Another benefit is that Lou is a HUGE music fanatic. On any given day you go in you may hear R&B, Blues, Classic Rock or Pop. You never know, but the sound system is always cranking out some good music and Lou's library is endless. This place is better than ANY chain sub shop you can go to and he is 100% consistent.

The sandwich i had was very tasty, for being deli subs i would say they are very tasty. Its not a fast sub shop so be patient as it will taste good or order ahead. Definitely worth a try or drive if you dont live nearby. Bread was good and meat seemed of quality. No complaints

If a place has this many 5 star reviews, you know they're doing something right! What can I say about Louie K's? It's a hidden gem of a sandwich shop in a Sunrise strip mall. Honestly, I never would have discovered it if it wasn't for Yelp, but I'm so happy I did! It's a small store, and when you walk in, with the dim lighting, purple walls, and killer soundtrack playing, you'll probably think you're in a club instead of a sandwich shop. It's a fun atmosphere and unique vibe, for sure. The place is also incredibly clean, which is very important to me. You choose what type of sandwich you want, everything from bread to cold cuts to toppings, by checking boxes on a form and handing it over to Louie. At first I was pretty intimidated by this setup (the form is pretty intense!), but the more I've done it, the more I realize that it's actually pretty efficient and smart. If your order is wrong, you have no one to blame but yourself - you filled it out! Louie makes all the sandwiches himself, so it can get crowded at peak times, but the wait is worth it for the quality you get. The sandwiches are well-crafted and he doesn't skimp on anything, whether it's meat, cheese, or toppings. The bread is soft and fresh, the meat is high quality and sliced to order, and the veggies are fresh. I especially love the roast beef sub - the beef is always rare, juicy, and perfect - a rarity in the world of roast beef. They have lots of other specialty and combo subs and a great variety, but I love the roast beef so much, it's hard to stray. This is definitely a place where the owner cares about quality and making a damn good sandwich, and the proof is in the sub. If you're on the lookout for a great sub, head to Louie K's - absolutely fantastic!

The ONLY place to get a sub! The subs are HUGE! I'm not exactly a small guy and could only finish half of a 12" sub. The owner was the guy behind the counter and he was meticulous with the building of the three subs we had ordered. (3 12" subs - that was a whole lot of meat...) We were there at the "height" of lunch hour on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy - I was a little concern over the other reviews that mentioned a backup during lunch time. I'm thoroughly surprise that the place isn't swamped all the time given how good these subs are. Also surprising is how connected the business is to social media - yet no official website that I could find. There were some outdated menus online at other sites etc. I always like to check out an establishment online before I visit in person. Anyway - I don't think you can go wrong here. I'm looking forward to getting to try the other menu items - the pics of the garlic bread subs are just killing me. I. Need. One. Now.

Great sandwiches made me come back the next day to see if was real or see if I was really hungry.

I love a good sammich. This goes beyond good. It was literally one of the best things I ever ate. Saw the YELP reviews and was driving through during work and stopped here for lunch. I will be going back now every week. Hand made, great bread, toasted right, fresh fillings, nice owner, clean location, I have nothing to complain about. Except I had to wait to drive back to work to eat it. This is worth whatever drive you were thinking about to get here. It is that good.

Jimmy who? Subwhat? Just tried this place for the first time. Walking in for the first time is an experience(LOL). I did notice how clean this place was right away. I worked in a few delis growing up and I know how hard they are to keep clean. Big thumbs up to the owner. The sub was excellent and I will be coming back. The only thing I didn't like was the lettuce. They use whole pieces of lettuce, but I prefer shredded lettuce on my subs. Try this place out!

  • John R.

Not sure how I've been driving past this place my entire life without knowing about it! Happy I finally made it in, and I'm 100% sure I'll be returning! I had a large sub with Roast Beef and all my usual fixings, yummoooo!!! Tiny hole in the wall places can sometimes be the best in the business.

I've been coming here for YEARS. Louie is awesome and his sandwiches are nothing short of a masterpiece. I love the "kitchen sink Sub" on the hot press along with the Funky Fusion Dirty Chips. My 8 year old also LOVES Louie K's. he would eat there everyday if I let him.

  • Salvatore J.

Very good subs. You pick the type from a chart, and Louis makes it the way you want it. This place kicks the crud out of big chains like Subways, Quiznos, and so forth, so if you're in the area and you want a sandwich, check them out!

  • Jessie L.

This is my favorite sandwich spot in Florida. I worked nearby when I lived in Florida and I came here frequently. The owner is a cool guy that makes sure your order is prepared exactly how you want it. He takes his time, you will never get a sloppy sandwich that was just rushed. The restaurant is clean, there's always a great playlist of old school music playing in the background, everything tastes fresh and well prepared. Every time I visit Florida I always come to Louie K's!!

I could see why locals find this a great place. The food served is so similar to where the owner is from, New Jersey. That is the flaw with this place though, having grown up in the tri-state area, this sandwich shop is nothing special to me. It is definitely very good, nothing bad to say, but it's just not unique. The only real issue I had is that on my chicken sandwich was a hugely insanely thick piece of chicken. I'd say about an inch and a half thick. I bit into it and it was inedible. It was like a cooked piece of rubber. I'm not sure why it was in there. The entire rest of the sandwich was really great. This almost ruined it for me though. It is a pretty dark place, with 3 high top tables. Your choice of drinks is very limited and there is no bathroom. The prices are perfect I'd say and the owner, Louie is friendly. I could see this being a great dive spot for late night eats, but I would not make it a usual place.

I have said it before, I LOVE turkey subs, and I eat a lot of them. I think one of my purposes in life is to find the perfect turkey sub. This place has been on my radar for awhile because I have read the rave reviews, but it is a bit of a drive for me, and I don't love going that far west, but I had an appointment in Plantation around lunch time so I jumped at the opportunity. I was impressed...this is definitely a great turkey sub. Things I liked: The order from- when you walk in there is a stack of order forms and accompanying pens. You check off everything you want. I like the organization of having everything written down, and you have time to think about what you want with all the choices laid out in front of you. Boar's head turkey-to be one of my favorite subs this is pretty much a prerequisite. Sandwich structure- I really like how the toppings were sandwiched between the meat and cheese, not just on top, it makes for a more even each experience, and I don't see this very often. Variety- they really have thought of everything. I ordered hot sauce and it was sriracha, very impressive. Cleanliness- the restaurant was very well kept, everything was organized and spotless. Sub shops can get a little messy with all the toppings and cutting going on, but they obviously stay on top of that here. Value- my sandwich and chips (kettle chips btw) came to less than $10. For the quality/size of the meal, this was a really good deal. Things I didn't love (held me back from that fifth star): Lettuce- the lettuce was leaves of iceberg instead of little shreds, I like little shreds. I know this is a picky personal preference. Atmosphere- maybe it was because I came in in the middle of the day, and I do get the this is a "club" but the colors and black lights felt a little weird, and I sort of felt like I should be renting a movie instead of getting lunch. Overall: I'm so glad I finally got to give this place a try, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Whenever I am in the area it will for sure be on my radar. A note: this is a small owner run place, and when I paid with my credit card he was using a phone app to swipe, so I think he would really appreciate cash...I know the credit card fees can put a dent in profits, especially for small places. I didn't have any, and I don't have a good track record for remembering my pin number (there was an ATM in the restaurant) so I felt a little bad using credit...in the future I will make sure I have cash.

It's another 5 star for Louis k. The sandwiches were loaded and great..He puts an Italian sub on a home made garlic hoagie!!.makes the garlic bread when u order it.then piles your sandwich on it...it's so good nothing less than a five will do

    (5)
  • Damon N.

I've been here 4 times now and every time the subs are delish! I would say one of the best subs in south Florida. I love pressed subs and got mine pressed and it was great! I've also had just the melted toasty sub and that's awesome too! If you like really good sandwiches, go here when nearby!

    (5)
  • Michele P.

THEE best sammies around !!! And a grest guy who owns the shop and makes them...on his own! MMMMM!!!

  • Chrisy Y.

This guy is amazing! You want a good sandwich spot in Fort Lauderdale, here is the place to go! Louie is a super cool guy; he made each of my party of 12's sandwich in under 30 minutes. The sandwich meat was moist and perfect. Wish he moved out to Cali! Definitely reccommend this place.

  • Daniel B. O.

SUBS ARE AMAZING! Very tasty and generous portions of meats, but that's not all. The place is pristine, super clean. Best of all.... the owner Louie Kalinsky makes it all. Freshly cuts the Boar's Head meats and makes the sub to your request with anything you want. Cold, grilled, toasted, you got it. The decor is from his days as a DJ, which by the way, the music you hear are his own mixes. He himself very nice person always following up if everything is ok. This is one of the best sub shops I've been to, not only because of the good subs, but because of the experience. Nicely ran local business.

  • Alexis D.

I am very picky with subs and I can tell you honestly, this sub shop is Amazing!!! There is a cool old school club vibe and the place has such good energy.. To sum it up, I live in south beach but travel to sunrise quite frequently for this sub. It is THAT good..

  • Debbie H.

When looking for a sub in America, we have certain expectations. The bread must be fresh, the meat must be moist and plentiful ... and the veggies have got to be crisp with the right amount topping it all. Louie K's accomplishes all of that. And we get the added bonus of helping out the local small business. Louie did his part including keeping the shop hospital clean - not a spec of dust or anything out of place. Anal would certainly be an adjective I have no problem just throwing out there - it comes across from the space to the quality of the product you receive. I have been in this shopping plaza several times over the years; today was my very first visit, and I can say with certainty will not be the last.

Yes yes and yes. Got the hot Italian. Bread, meat and quantities of everything are proportioned just right. Very clean inside and cool owner to boot. Do yourself a favor... check these guys out!

  • AmaSynn W.

Love this spot.I would have given five stars but the fact you can't call ahead and order I took one away. Besides that everything was great the bread to meat/ cheese ratio was perfect and the veggies were crisp and fresh..so yummy!!! I actually came to yelp to call them but they're closed on Sunday boo :-(

  • Tiffany P.

Amazing subs. If you get the one with 2 meats, it can definitely be shared between 2 people. We each got a medium with 2 meats and couldn't finish it. Next time I'll get the small or share the medium. And yes there will be a next time. Thank goodness this place is only 10 min away.

  • Risa W.

Amazing subs! Went here with my fiancé for the first time. Sad we never noticed the place before!! Be prepared to have your taste buds amazed! The owner was working, he was very nice and took his time to explain to us how the place worked. You check off on an order sheet everything you want. We were both pleasantly surprised with how delicious our sandwiches were. We will definitely be going back!

My boyfriend had the Cuban and I had a garlic bread sandwich and they were amazing! The place doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is amazing!!! The portions are huge too you definitely feel like you got your money's worth:)

Awesome subologist. His ability to put the sub together is right out of Alton Brown's handbook

    (5)
  • Jodi C.

As good as a sub gets! Fresh wheat bread, nice selection of meats & plenty of toppings. Friendly service & reasonable prices. I had a turkey on wheat & loved it. Can't wait to go back & try the low carb lettuce wrap.

  • JL R.

Believe the hype: Louie K's is about as good as it gets. I stopped by recently for lunch and had probably the best sub of my life. Add to that a decidedly unique ambiance and a friendly owner, and you've got a budding institution in Sunrise.

    (5)
  • P L.

Wow. Not quite sure how he was able to get those flavor into my sub. Sounds cliche but best sub ever. Worth the trip.

  • Todd S.

If you are looking for a good sub shop, look no further. Louie K's is the best! The subs have tons of meat and the place is super clean. I strongly recommend this place if you are looking for a great sandwich!

    (5)
  • Brett G.

It may be just a sandwich shop, but it is one of the best sandwich shops you'll go to. Louie K's nails every benchmark you would hold a sub shop to: 1. Clean 2. Fresh, quality ingredients 3. Reasonable prices 4. Great atmosphere 5. An owner who interacts with/cares about customers All in all, a great eating experience. You couldn't ask for more from a place like this. Just be careful about going around lunchtime, the owner runs the shop by himself and it gets swamped in there between 11:30-1

    (5)
  • Jeffrey W.

Great sandwiches at a good price! The owner is very nice and I will definitely be going back.

    (5)
  • John Z.

I just had the pleasure of eating at this place and let me tell you it's great. I had the large Cuban sandwich and it was delicious. The sandwich was pressed nice and crispy on the outside bit soft in the middle. The cheese and meat were hot while the pickles were cold and crisp. The owner was friendly there were a few people ahead of me but he assured he would be right with me I maybe waited 5-7 min for my sub. If you're looking for a great lunch stop in and eat a proper sub

    (5)
  • Steven H.

One of the best sandwich shops in the area, $10 bucks gets you a delicious, HUGE deli sandwich with all the fixin's.. I always try to stop by when I'm in the area and in need of a quick & healthy fix

    (4)
  • Steve A.

It must be me, but I just walked into this place after reading the reviews and I walked right out. The Owner totally ignored me and took customers ahead of me. Dance Music was blaring, the place looked like an after hours club not a sub shop. maybe the food is good here, but the owner does not need my business!

    (1)

love the subs that i get when i stop by for lunch

  • Orlando S.

This tiny sandwich shop was an AWESOME find this morning for lunch. The meats are sliced on order and the service is perfect (albeit a confusing ordering system). Stacked (and I mean STACKED) Boar's Head on soft bread... what a treat. Did I mention they know how to stack the meats for a sandwich? Truly a great lunch spot. Will be a regular now.

    (5)
  • Joe S.

This is one of those places that you go by word of mouth. Located in a very unappealing plaza, you would not feel compelled to stop by from its external looks. I've been there a few times with my colleagues from work and we have never been disappointed with the quality sandwiches served there. You can customize pretty much everything: #1 choose prep style (cold, toasted, grill pressed, etc.) #2 choice of bread & size #3 meats and cheeses (up to five) #4 toppings and dressings they use Boar's Head ingredients. You can even fax in your order ahead of time (954-746-9994). Highly recommended.

    (5)
  • Chris S.

Great sandwich! High quality meats and the place hasn't had a sanitation code violation in a decade! Don't know about you but clean is important to me! Check this place out of on the area. Will not be let down

  • Cassandra S.

The best sandwich place I've ever been to!! The reviews don't exaggerate, GET THE GARLIC BREAD! Sandwiches made exactly how you want them, the order forms are awesome, and he makes each sandwich with the same care/effort as if he was making it for himself! Loved it!

    (5)
  • Blake B.

Super sandwiches made exactly the way you want them with Louie K's cool order forms... I love the quality of everything: * super fresh breads - I recommend getting garlic bread * top quality meats that he slices right when you order * really fresh produce * impeccably clean The eponymous "Louie K" is the person behind the counter making every masterpiece sandwich in a small, but super clean, location in the heart of Sunrise... Others have said it - but I'll repeat it - Louie takes pride in his sandwiches - I'm not exaggerating when I say he's a craftsman. The first time I went there - I brought a roast beef sandwich with provolone on garlic bread home... The family had said they didn't want anything; until they saw my sandwich - I was lucky to get a bite! Since everything is sliced and made when you order and it is a small shop -- be patient, these things take time -- but the end result is totally worth it. Just make sure to bring enough for everyone!

  • Gyzettet P.

Now that's what I call a sub! Hands down the best sub joint I visited in a longtime. Can't believe I been living in south Florida (broward) for such a long time and I have never seen this place. Thanks yelp! The owner runs the place. Super nice guy and knows what he is doing. This place has been violation free for six years in a row! Talk about a clean place. You can eat off the floors. (Not suggested though lol) I had the cooked pork on the garlic bread!!! OMG.... Amazing.. Definitely will be my new favorite sub spot!

  • Caroline D.

I love a good sandwich. I read the reviews on good sub shops in the area and thought I would give this place a try. The place is quaint and when you walk in you see that the walls are black, which makes it seem slightly smaller but are dressed with celebrity signed pictures. The owner's concept is genial and the sandwich menu isn't complicated at all. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and it was 3:20pm, this place closes at 4pm. There was no one there but the owner I assume; who also did not greet us when we walked in. As a first time customer, this isn't a best first impression when it wires down to customer service. Maybe he was anxious to leave or having a bad day? I kind of felt unwelcomed but since I had my heart set on trying the subs, didn't mind it. There was music in the background playing but I did notice that the stools were all upside down, and so I thought he might be closing early? I asked what time he closes just to be sure and he said that he closes at 4pm and that we can either have cold or toasted subs, that the Panini grill is off all in one breath. I was actually looking forward to having my sandwich pressed but didn't bother asking as he clearly didn't seem amused that we were there. The two sandwiches plus a soda/chips we ordered came up to $20 or so; which I thought better be worth it. The sandwich I custom ordered was THE BEST sandwich I've ever had. The bread is so fresh; I had the garlic bread and the way the sub is built is perfect. Made me forget my experience in the shop and I will go back and give it another chance because I do want to try a Panini pressed sub. I would give this place 5 stars if only the customer service matched the caliber of the subs sold.

  • Mariela A.

I have to rave about this place! I had a Cuban sandwich and it was PERFECT!! the place is immaculate. Service is 5 stars. And it's a cool set up filled with autograph from artist and professional players. This place is a true Gem will definitely become a regular!!

  • Megan K.

Best sandwich place in south Florida! Order the turkey, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet peppers, salt, pepper, mayo mustard on garlic bread. Make sure the bread, meat and cheese is toasted. Lou is awesome ! Music and ambience is great! Joint is clean and the is so fresh and delicious! Can't wait to come back!!!!!

  • Daniel O.

I came here due to the high rating and it did not disappoint. I had a small Italian on garlic bread and it was so good. The guy is really helpful, nice, and puts such care into making your sub. The place looks immaculate (they've had zero health code violations according to the two letters hanging on the wall).

  • Kay H.

One of the best cold cut sandwich I've had in a long time. I got the Kitchen Sink on Garlic Bread and it was awesome! I like the fact that you can fill out your own custom sandwich form. My sandwich was filled with a lot of flavor and fresh. One thing for me, I'm always looking around for cleanliness and organization mostly because I'm also a food retail store manager and this place definitely doesn't lack that. Everything from the counter, work station and entry was clean and food wasn't being left out. Would definitely revisit.

After many attempts to try this supposed sandwich Mecca with fail due to conflicting hours, I finally consumed one of these subs. Verdict: Louie K is the Jesus Christ of sandwiches. If this comment offends you, get over it. Hark! All hail thee: greatest sandwich maker in all the lands! I asked Louie why he wasn't open on Sundays I figured it was because he needed a break at least once a week.. To my surprise, his answer was that in South Florida his bakery doesn't bake bread on Sunday's and he refuses to freeze the bread from Saturday for Sunday. Ladies and gentlemen that's called product integrity. What I consumed could only be described as the greatest sandwich I have ever eaten in my entire life. The roast beef was perfection, the garlic bread made me wonder why I'd never had that before. Anyone that dares give him less than five stars should be hung and beaten in the town square. I seriously can't wait to go back and experience pure bliss once again. P.s. Louie K himself is also a stand up guy. Support this business by any means.

  • Jamie D.

Walked in for the first time today. Was a little different but it was a new experience. You get a sheet of paper of the wall and check what you want and leave blank what you don't. I had a Cuban but with a little twist. It was very good. I would come back again!

    (5)
  • Kate T.

Really really delicious hand crafted sandwiches! I loved the ability to make my pick everything in my sandwich and the garlic bread was a great menu option!

Add me to the 5-star club. Just found the place (thanks Yelp!) and I've been back several times. Sandwiches are great. Ordering looked like it would be hard with the form but it's actually much faster and easier than anticipated. I prefer it over the stand and point at ingredients method. The place is CLEAN. Like, really, really clean. A letter on the wall from the Florida Governor mentions that Louie K's is one of about 40 establishments in the STATE to not have any violations what-so-ever. No scratches or dings on the walls, carpet spotless, every bag of chips and soda can in it's place. Behind the counter everything labeled, stored properly, cleaned, etc. I dare you to find just 1 piece of dust. Unreal. I don't eat meat so I get my sandwiches with just cheese. Louie loads it up with quality ingredients and it's damn good. Meat eaters get all kinds of options. Hot subs, cold subs, pressed, wraps, chicken parmigiana, you name it. Great job Louie! I look forward to coming in regularly.

Louie K's is a great place if you're looking for a Good Sub like you might make at home. The inside is comfortable and well air conditioned on a hot South Florida day. Louie is also very fun, entertaining, and nice. Awesome guy, Awesome Subs.

I think Sue B did the the most comprehensive review that could be done! It certainly made me curious about Louie K's, so I had to make the trip to see what all the fuss was about. If you haven't read hers, please finish mine first because you won't need to read mine after reading hers. Like Sue mentions, Louie has a very well thought out and organized form that allows the customer to select the exact ingredients and preparation method for each sandwich. It really takes the guess work out of ordering a sandwich. No back and forth with the sandwich preparer answering 20 questions. It's all right there on the form, very efficient, which I love as a consumer. Now as for my thoughts on Louie's, I have to say when I first walked into Louie's, I was taken aback. I walked in and the place seemed more like a bar than a sandwich shop. There were classic rock tunes playing (which I love actually) and the lighting was quite dark. Knowing that I was there for the sandwich not the location, I went ahead and got down to business remembering there are forms; I quickly located them and selected my options. Even though I had seen the form from other Yelp reviews, it was still hard to remember everything I wanted, and Louie really has a LOT of options to choose from. I started with my go to Sub: a small turkey, ham with bacon on white bread. I added lettuce, tomato, provolone and mayo. While I waited, I walked around listening to the music and checking out all the photos and items posted on the walls. There are black lights, which are all around the shop and and with the oldies rock gives the place a retro feel. Back to the sandwich, it was tasty and packed with meat, which I expected from reading the other reviews. So, I had to come back and try some more items. Second visit I got the tuna melt. I forgot to select my cheese, but thankfully Louie asked if I wanted cheese. I was glad to see that he wasn't so rigid about the form, which I could imagine someone being with all the consideration and preparation involved in creating that form. "Hey, honey! You didn't ask for cheese, so you get no cheese!" In my case, it was, "Do you want any cheese on that?" The tuna melt was good also, but I made the mistake of adding mayo. It really doesn't need it, but add bacon...that was a winning move! So, if you are a tuna lover, Louie's tuna has all the tuna and seasoning you need as is. Today I thought I would go for the motherload, the "kitchen sink!" I had that on garlic bread (OMG the garlic bread is a secret weapon of sandwich heaven) along with my usual lettuce, tomato, mayo and this time balsamic vinegar. This sandwich was the bomb! It was such a great combination of flavors and textures that really made this place a 5 star experience for me. At the same time, I got a large which allowed me to take half home for Hubby. He really loved it also. So, thanks to Sue and Yelp for helping me find a great little sandwich place. Also note, that you can order delivery from Louie K using Delivery Wow, which I use. Louie is out of my delivery area otherwise I would likely order from here at least twice a week! LOL

Hands down best sandwiches ever!!! I've never seen a cleaner restaurant in my life. The concept of ordering is so easy and the atmosphere is very unique. I defiantly recommend trying the kitchen sink it was epic! I will definitely be a return customer.

So we finally went to have lunch there. This place is so clean. The sandwiches were awesome!! Freshly made, to order. The owner Louie takes pride in making his sandwiches!! My wife had the Italian on garlic bread and toasted, I had the turkey on garlic bread with provolone. The order system is easy to use, just check off what you want and turn it in. Louie makes a masterpiece!! You gotta go try it out!! Oh and a bonus is the music he plays is some kick ass old school house music!!

This place is a hole in the wall. Well worth the find. Walk in and hear the club music pumping. The walls are painted black and lined with local talent pictures as well as national celebrities that have left their mark. The purple neon adds a club feel. Step up and fill out your order and hand it over to be custom made. The sub I had was awesome. Quality meats and cheeses can only add up to a great sub. This place is where the locals come to have a CLUB sub. Great job! I'm happy to give 5 stars.

This is my new favorite spot. Louie consistently puts out high quality subs and I can say with absolute confidence, these are some of the greatest subs I've ever had. Just look at the photo I posted. Roast beef is on point. The layering of the sandwich is phenomenal. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs a lobotomy.

There's a reason why this place has been around for 16 years and is rated 5 stars, it's because their sandwiches are out of this world! I had the large kitchen sink on garlic bread and it was a monster. If I didn't just get done working out I would never be able to finish it. Lou the owner is very friendly and made my first time in his establishment feel like I was a friend not just a customer! Anyone in the area should make it a point to stop in and try this diamond in the rough. If you're from up north, NY/NJ, this is the closest place to find an authentic "HERO" like the one's you'd get at the corner Italian deli!

2nd time here and not disappointed. The place is spotless, decor funky in a good way, and I love the music. I haven't ventured past the Kitchen Sink on garlic bread because it's so delish. The medium is huge (tons of meat) not to mention packed with flavor...garlic always does that. I will be back again without a doubt. Everything about the sandwich is good. Soooo good!

An amazing one man show of a sandwich shop. The menu is a check box to build your favorite sandwich from a giant list of ingredients. You pass it off to the owner of the shop and he does the rest. The sandwiches are enormous with a more than generous helping of meat. You could order triple meat at subway or some lesser place and you still wouldn't get as much as Louie K's. The location is a little small, offering minimal seating. The walls are decorated with signed pictures of celebrities and dolphins players who are fans of the place, a fun way to kill some time waiting for your sandwich. 80's music is blasting making the setting that much more awesome. Leave a big tip for this guy, he works alone and works hard making some of the best traditional deli sandwiches around.

Good, so good!!! I will admit that I was dubious this place could prepare anything close to LaSpada's famous subs, after all I grew up in the same neighborhood as the original LaSpada's beach location so I know my subs....well Louie K's proved me wrong, I won't say that it's better but I will say it's a really good sub and a top contender for best subs ever. The meat is sliced to order, the bread and fixings are fresh, the subs are massive but most importantly they are delicious. The concept is you fill out an order sheet which lists all ingredients for you to custom construct your sub or you can also choose from a selection of classic subs like the Italian or Cuban, you hand your filled out order sheet to Louie and he will build your sub exactly as you specified on the order sheet. My favorite is the roast beef, the meat is rare just like I like it, the order sheet gives you plenty of preparation options like wraps, toasted melt, grilled pressed, low carb lettuce wrap or salad. The location is small with just a few high top tables and small TVs, it is supposed to have a nightclub theme so it's dark with purple lighting which is a bit odd for lunch, but other than that the place is spotless. Louie works by himself, he is super friendly and takes his sub craftsmanship very serious, this is not Subway, these are quality custom subs which take a few minutes to construct, also sometimes you walk in and its empty but that's because most people take their subs to go. Credit cards are accepted.

Still Real Good! After eating a crappy sub on Monday from a place near the BB&T Center I decided that Tuesday is a new day and I need to reward my taste buds for that debacle yesterday. So this joint came into my mind right away. I fax my order in and get an Italian sub on wheat. I show up about 45 mins later and my sub is ready to go. I buy some water and some chips and I'm out. I drive to a park in Plantation and have lunch in my car. As I open the bag and unveil my sub, a grinch that stole Christmas smile, streaked across my face. This thing looks so good. I sink my teeth around this bad boy and say fuck this is so good. This guy Louis who is making these sandwiches is a one man sub god. Just amazing. Listen, if you are a sub connoisseur like me you need to come here. Remember to tell the Sub god Dan sent you and Stay Hungry!

WOW! I hardly ever write reviews since moving to FL, bc most things are underwhelming to me here. But this... THIS IS THE BEST SUB I HAVE EVER HAD. Period. I left thinking, "hmm better be good for $9." This place has 5 stars for a reason. It's that good! Simple concept, great bread (I got garlic), great meats (Italian) and variety of toppings. And... I could only eat half! I wanted to keep going but I am full! There are plenty of reviews so I won't gab on... just go get a sub!

Go anywhere in Broward County, throw a rock, and chances are you'll hit a sub shop! You can even go to a supermarket and get a sub. The food isn't exotic, many places use the same brand of meat and cheese, and the 'recipe' is basic. So why would you make a special trip to Louie K's Club Sandwich shop? Here's why: Your time is respected: If you've ever shifted your feet in line, behind someone who couldn't figure out what to order on his/her sandwich you will love the fact that Louie uses an order form. Forms and pencils are at the door and next to the counter so everyone grabs a form, fills it out, and gives it to Louie. Looking at the form, you get insight about this highly organized sandwich chef. Here are the areas of the one page form: #1 - Prep style (toasted melt, grill pressed, low carb lettuce wrap, etc.) #2 - Bread type (white, wheat, or garlic bread or wrap) #3 - Meats and cheeses (fresh deli slices of Thumann's - high quality cold cuts - or breaded chicken filet) #4 - Toppings and dressings (veggies, spreads, sauces, etc.) Classics box - combo subs (Italian, chicken grilled wrap, Cuban, chicken parmigiana, etc.) Combo box - add a drink and a bag of chips (excluding the Dirty Chips brand) Slider box - small combo subs, served cold only, and a choice of veggie toppings Upcharge boxes - price for adding 1 to 2 or 3 to 4 or 5 or more meats or cheeses, and regular or thin sandwich thickness This form could have taken 10 years to perfect. This is a man who has REALLY contemplated his products. He knows that if he's going to work alone and produce great food he's going to need to know what his customers want up-front. He can't be interviewing people who slowly think about whether they want hot or sweet peppers. So, assuming you are not intimidated to fill out the form, you are in for a delicious treat. First the treat for your eyes and sense of cleanliness: Louie slices the bread and meats/cheeses for your sandwich. He lines up his orders to slice the same meat for more than one sandwich to further save time and effort. He wears gloves and changes them out after he touches cash. He sprays a mix of vinegar and water on the press after each sandwich is pressed. He lines up his bottles of sauces and dressings. He places containers of meat and cheese back in the fridge in-between making sandwiches. He has one hook to house his tongs when not in use. For the chicken parmigiana on garlic bread, he toasted both sides of the bread first and then removed one side from the heat to put the side loaded with meat and cheese under a salamander to melt everything down. He joined the two halves after squirting tomato sauce in a repeating pattern from one end of the bread to the other to evenly distribute the sauce. He puts completed sandwiches under a heat lamp so when he hands you the sub it's nice and hot. What courtesy! Some consider me a 'neat freak' and I'd LICK his counters without a second thought. The best part, however, has to be the taste. Even though he is diligently working and not making small talk, Louie lets his food talk for him - obviously he loves us because his sandwiches taste like they were made with love. A few groups of police officers came into the shop - they know the neighborhood and where to eat - a father with his young baby was in the shop, a group of guys were eating there and making small talk with Louie's back - telling him that everything was great, as per usual. I was the newbie and I realized that, beyond the pics of celebrities on the wall, locals recognized Louie and his shop as THE place to be when it comes to getting the BEST subs. And now I know it too.

Who doesn't like a good sub? I surely do, so when I turned to my yelpers I knew they would deliver. Oh boy did they deliver! The owner's name is Louie " but of course " and Louie can make a mean sub! His spot is small by standards but his subs are empire city like in stature. Massive! Louie could tell I was a newbie to his spot so he explained to me how it works. You crab a sheet of paper where you pretty much check off what type of sandwich you want and what you want on it and hand it to him once your done. While waiting you can't help but to notice this place looks like a 80's disco club, black and purple with neon lights and autographs of celebrities on there wall of fame. In addition, Louie explained how he takes pride his restaurant and is craft. He explained to me the type of deli meat he uses and why he like to run his own operation. You have to admire that. Furthermore, I couldn't help but to notice Louie's was one of few restaurant's to be featured on local TV and recognized by the Health Department for having ZERO violations, so you don't have to worry about those horror stories you see on TV or read on your local web articles. I ordered a turkey and ham sandwich with american cheese and onions, lettuce and tomatoes I added salt and pepper with oil and finger and BOOM! Masterpiece!!! For a medium this thing was massive! he cut the deli thicker than usual which gave it a meatier appeal. However, that didn't dismiss the veggies which were fresh and had amazing flavor, that oil and vinegar added that tang I wanted that made everything go together. Louie asked me if everything was good and if I enjoyed my sub, boy did I !!! I thanked him and he seemed grateful and took pride in me enjoying my food. Not only did he prep and good meal for me but the hospitality and customer service was better than any mom and pop place I have ever been too... I'll be back again and bringing some of my co-workers with me since our office is a few miles away.

How could I have missed this place for 13 years?!?! After browsing Yelp for nearby food I stumbled on Louie K's. After looking at some of the photos I was craving a sub. (Of course it was Sunday and Louie K was closed.) Skip to my next day off and I was outside the shop, waiting for the open sign to click on at 11am. Louie was there (I guess he's always there), I filled out our order forms, and he made my 'custom subs' in a few minutes. Holy goodness. When this man says a large sub...it's a large sub! You can split a large between two people. Easily! I wimped out and only got one meat, but next time I'll get two. And there will be a next time. This is my new sub place!

Very interesting hole in the wall. This is why Yelp exists - to give places like this the right recognition. Very small club-like interior so make sure to come at an off hour or order to-go. Sandwich was amazing especially with garlic bread and balsamic vinegar. Will definitely be back - maybe for a smaller sandwich but it's always good to complain when you get too much food.

Writing my first Yelp review, but I had to after finding this amazing sandwich shop. Explosion of great flavors! Recommend the garlic bread. I had the "Kitchen Sink" combo and gf had a Chicken Bacon Ranch. Loved both! Perfect spot, forget about Subway, go check this place out!!

The name is perfect! You think you're entering a Club when you walk through the door. Kashmir was playing on the sound system and the black lights were shedding a cool purple haze on everything. The place was not crowded though. There was one guy sitting at a table and another one filling out a job application. The owner knew I was s newbie 'cause I just kind'a stood there in line. Then he said "This your first time? You need to fill out your order on that paper there on the wall. The pens are there too." Then I thought "Oh. I see. So that guy isn't filling out a job application. He's filling out his order form!" :-0 As for the order form, make sure you select the cheese you want 'cause I forgot and the owner questioned me on it. Don't get me wrong, he was nice enough about it, but I couldn't help remembering that Seinfeld episode. Remember the one about the Soup Kitchen Nazi? As for the sub, all the posts here are correct, 5 stars all the way! The meat was so fresh. I had roast beef on mine and it was so pink and tender. No gristle at all. I had roast beef, ham, turkey and provolone on white with all the fixen's. I paid extra to add bacon. Everything is better with bacon, right? The next bit was not to my personal preference: The bread was cut all the way through, top from bottom, instead of keeping them connected. This makes it harder to eat. Everything squisshes out the side! Also, the mayo was not spread on the bread, but rather squeezed on in the middle afterwards. Do yourself a favor and go eat here. You'll absolutely love your sub!

It's very simple... You walk in, grab a pen and paper and fill out on the chart what it is you want in your sub. Hand paper the Louie and he creates a beast of a sandwich. I prefer this over a Publix sub.

Instant access to the Golden Circle of sandwich crafters. Louie cares about what he does and it shows, most importantly in the food, but also due to the fact that everyone shouts "bye Louie" on their way out. More like a family than a business. A 'small' Italian approximated the size and weight of an NFL football. At least that's how I remember it. The hot peppers and hot sauce were more warm than hot, but that didn't steal from the quality overall. Some people take sandwich making to an art - so buy one now, because this guy's work will be in Sotheby's one day. If you want to talk to whoever you're with, it's best to take them out - the place is a bit loud for that. Not too loud - just tough to hear conversation. It's part of the experience, and, like the sandwiches, the sound system is first rate. Cannot wait to go back and try more from this joint.

Can I say best sub ever? Yes...with out a doubt...BEST. SUB. EVER! Now, the first time I came here I had just left the dentist and half my mouth was numb. EVEN with half of my tastebuds asleep I could tell this was a great sub. I destroyed my mouth chewing, since I couldn't feel when I was chewing my cheek....it's ok - it was worth it! Naturally I had to come back and get a real mouthful of active buds to properly review this spot. GLAD I DID. Walking in it really is a "club" with neon lights, a great soundtrack and a wall lined with autographs from VIPs. As small as this spot is, the atmosphere Louie creates makes this place bigger than life. You grab a sheet and check off all of your choices. Bread, meats, cheeses, veggies, sauces, sizes, ect. All of the meat is sliced on the spot - which is probably why they taste so good. Some of the cheeses are also sliced on the spot - which (again) is probably why they taste so good. My wife got ketchup on hers (she was so happy to finally have a sub place provide ketchup, since she loves ketchup on her sub) and Louie actually wiped off the ketchup from the top before he put it back. It's that kind of attention to detail that makes this place top notch. Posters adorn the entrance "No Health Violations" and even a framed letter from the state saying the same. I used to work in a nightclub and I can tell you...although this LOOKS like a club inside, it is definitely not treated as such when it comes to cleaning. I got a turkey, medium, regular meat, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, black olives, mayo, mustard, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar - not toasted. WHOA! They sure are messy to eat, but trust me you will not care and scoop up all of those toppings with no hesitation when they fall on the butcher paper they come in. The two ladies I was with (one was my wife, no need to panic) were mumbling things between bites. Things like "thisisthebestsubIhaveEVERhad" and "Ohmygodummmthisissogoodohmy" at least that's what I kind of made out from the mumbles. Check in offer for a free soda? SWEET! I got a grape soda - YES...THEY HAVE....GRAPE SODA!!!! This guy has thought of EVERYONE. Ketchup for the wife, grape soda for me! I will be back, very soon. VERY VERY soon! PS - did I mention the owner Louie does it all? He is a one man team, making each sub by hand, cleaning, cashing out, EVERYTHING!

Stopped in here because of the 5 star Yelp review. Louie K's sandwich really does stand up to the 5 star review. It's very simple.. There are 4 steps to ordering: #1 - choose your prep style #2 choose your bread #3 choose your meats & cheeses #4 choose your toppings & dressings. I ordered an italian and my boyfriend ordered the kitchen sink. It's great Louie K's has multiple options & varieties to sandwiches. Not to mention, the portions are huge & the meat is sliced right in front of you, oh & they use Boar's Head lunchmeat. I will be back.

It's a sub shop so leave your fine dining expectations at home. That said, it's a great sub shop. Great food and above all, the place seems really clean-the inspection reports back up my impression on that. I have been there a couple of times now and would be back in a heartbeat. Just thinking of it right now while writing the review makes me think I should skip the salad I brought for lunch and have a sub instead.

If you build it... they will come!!! I see my fellow Yelpers love subs just as much as I do and the reviews across the board have been stellar. I stopped in late afternoon when no one was there. This gave me time to scope out the place with no pressure. Louie directed me to the order form, which is self explanatory. I quickly checked off my favs and Louie got to work slicing and building the perfect sub. There was no meat sitting around- it was sliced to order. While he constructed my sub we chatted about Yelp and like any great restraunteur he knew my fellow Yelpers by name and sub lol! Shout out to Sue B. and Charmie :-) I used the free soda check in offer with no problem and took my sub to go. I got home and in the bag was my LARGE sub with my order form neatly taped around it. As a perfectionist, I think this is great! I opened my mouth super wide to get my first bite and it was delicious. Fresh bread, fresh meat, fresh veggies. My only constructive criticism is that I prefer shredded lettuce on subs and perhaps Louie could add this option? Other than that, I highly recommend this spot that could easily be overlooked in a strip shopping center. GOOD TO KNOW: Louie does sub platters for catering in case you need something for an event.

My family of three went here last weekend. The place is very clean. The sandwiches are excellent. I would recommend to anyone. My only tip: there are only 2 or 3 high-top tables that are comfortable for 2 people. So, keep that in mind if you are looking to eat in.

I am glad to see this place has so many 5 star reviews because if someone put any less, than THEY are the screwed up ones. The sandwiches here are the way they are supposed to be. I would drive by 5 Subways to come here and maybe spend an extra buck or 2. The owner Louie takes a bit to get used to. He comes across like the sub Nazi at first but don't let that slow you down. He doesn't bite! The sandwiches are jam-packed with meat, not filled up with veggies. You can get any topping you can think of and he always gets it right. The meat and toppings are always so fresh and you won't find a cleaner restaurant in South Florida! Try it once, you will definitely be back!!!

When I saw Blue's picture of this humongous sub, I immediately bookmarked Louie K's. I finally got the chance to come in and try it. This is a great little mom and pop shop. The atmosphere is awesomely dive bar with a couple of old school tvs playing and a few high top tables. This is more of a takeout spot, but we were hungry and devoured our subs right there. The way it works is to create your own sub. On the order sheet they list the different choices for bread, meat, cheese, and everything else in between. My sandwich was so good. The small size was filling enough for me since it was piled so high. What I do suggest: -Garlic bread: gives a nice garlic touch -Prep style go for toasted melt or grilled pressed. Toasted melt gets your meats, cheeses, and bread all warm and melty. Grilled pressed gets a nice little crunch to the bread. Everything else you can't really go wrong! The owner was great. It did take a few minutes to get our order, but everything was fresh, toasty, and just plain yummy.

Louie k's sub sandwiches are hands down the best sub sandwiches in the area. The Italian and the kitchen sink on garlic bread with whatever toppings you like are my suggestions. Try it out, great lunch spot!!

My wife found this place on yelp and knowing how much I love sandwiches, said we have to try it. Well we just left and believe me all the 5star reviews were correct. AWESOME subs no matter what you get. I had the kitchen sink and my wife had the Italian toasted. The garlic bread is definitely the way to go. The owner challenged my wife saying she wouldn't get past 1/4, well she proved him wrong and only left 1/4. This was our first time there but it definitely won't be the last.

This is the best sub shop I've ever been to. The decor is a throwback to a happier time, during which people like Prince regularly graced the airwaves sharing time with the Eurythmics. The place is absolutely spotless. I mean spotless!!! The meats are fresh and full flavored. I highly recommend that anyone looking for the ultimate in sandwich experiences make the time to visit Louie's.

As my sister and I pondered where to satisfy our craving for a nice sub, we weighed our options: Quiznos, Subway, or Publix, but neither got us excited. We went on yelp, and found this place down the block. I never heard of it but it had awesome reviews. I am so glad we decided to try this place. It was awesome. Sub was huge for a medium. Tasted super fresh and the selection was nice. The guy Louie was really nice and made us feel at home. We can't wait to come back!
