High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

I came here with my family for lunch and we had a great time. The service was amazing out waiter was super nice and attentive. The place wasn't too crowded or loud. We ordered some appetizers to start off, some chips with salsa dip and then some boneless wings with the buffalo sauce on the side. -Chips and salsa- Delicious and we ate them all up, the serving size is perfect and they provide more than enough salsa. -Boneless wings- These were super tasty, the buffalo sauce we got on the side and it was a hit with my family. We loved the taste of it and even dipped some of our tortilla chips in it. They also give a good amount of boneless wings, there were six of us eating the appetizers and we were all satisfied when done with them. I ordered the Shrimp N' Parmesan Sirloin which my father also ordered. -Shrimp N' Parmesan 9 oz. Sirloin- The sirloin I orders medium and it was cooked perfectly! My dish consisted of a sirloin covered with Parmesan and shrimp with a side of carrots and broccoli and another side of mashed potatoes (or your choice of fries). The mashed potatoes were delicious and creamy and the veggies were steamed to perfection. The shrimp and steak with the Parmesan were a perfect combination. I ate everything on my plate and was very satisfied. My father also loved his food and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. For dessert we ordered a triple chocolate meltdown -Triple Chocolate Meltdown- This dessert was a hit with my family. We loved it, the hot chocolate lava on the inside of the chocolate lava cake was delicious and the vanilla ice cream paired with it stupendously. An amazing end to a great dining experience. Overall, the experience and service were excellent and the food was amazing and more than we expected!

This Applebee's is often a pre-hockey game restaurant for my dad and I. We've traditionally had decent service and consistent food, otherwise we wouldn't go back. We're both hoping last Sunday's poor experience is a blip. About 1/4 of the restaurant was empty, but we had a 20 minute wait to be seated for a party of 2. No big deal. We figured they were short of servers for the night. Later, after being there for more than 2.5 hours just to eat a cheeseburger and a cheesesteak, and seeing a manager delivering food to tables, we figured they must be extremely short in the kitchen, and bar, and servers, and managers. The service was TERRIBLE. Our waiter was practically nonexistent and eventually had to be flagged down to order drinks, to order food, to ask for silverware and napkins, to ask for our bill, and to have him take our cards to pay. Ugh! Other tables in our section had better service, but still extremely long waits for food. Like over an hour. When they seated us, they should have told us that the average wait time for food was at least 45 minutes. We could have decided whether to stay or go, and wouldn't have ended up frustrated from the wait. I gave this review 2 stars instead of 0 because the food when it finally came out was good (and for previously good experiences at this location). My cheeseburger was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare. It hit the spot. My dad ordered a new menu item, the Brewpub cheesesteak. He said it was excellent. I had a little entree envy to be honest, even though I had just had a great cheesesteak from Mac Daddy's the day before. Hockey season starts in a couple of months, and we'll give this Applebee's another chance- mostly because it is conveniently close to the BB&T Center and for previously good experiences. I'll update this review then.

I don't usually complain about service but this restaurant has the worst service of all places I have ever been to. And trust me I have been to many. At first the the host didn't want to be there. You could tell by his face. He didn't seem like a host at all. Next we sat down in a booth. The chair started vibrating so we complained. So they told us to move. The waitress left without even helping us move our drinks and plates. Unfortunately the table we sat down wasn't firm on the ground. It was swinging. So we moved again. This time the host just stood there and only helped us with one drink. Like that wasn't bad enough, another family came after U.S. and the host made them sit on the same booth even though the place is empty. WORST SERVICE EVER Just got the food. It wasn't up to the standards of Applebees. The waitress left the check before we even finished our food. We were going to end up ordering desert but not anymore. Hope you guys don't have to go through what we did

Again my expectations are not high when it comes to chain restaurants . They do have steak and potatoes that leans on your pallet with such fines . The server was stretched thin but she still had great commitment to customer service and maintained tasteful professionalism. Such a tender piece of beef with flavor to just replays the word euphoric again and again through my mind . If I could change anything it would be the portion size , sticky floors , and the odor that it has .

Everyone is super nice, the hostesses even double as wait staff when needed. Always smiling, and loving the new menu! Try the frozen lemonade selection if you want a drink to last your entire meal that is a thirst quencher.

First off. Tighten up on service. It took me 15 mins to get my beer, and there was no one here. Second, I ordered a Medium steak, and it came out well done. Loose the weight and let it cook. Over all, I probably wouldn't come back, although my girlfriend said the pasta was on point, but that's probably because it comes in a bag that is all..

Purchased a $50 gift card. Horrible food! My potatoes & chicken plate tasted like chemicals! I didn't even swallow it in fear that I might get sick. Switched entrees, it was OK. Didn't get any type of discount on my bill. I asked for one, got $5 off only! Then I went to pay with the gift card and the remainder on my debit but they "didn't see the gift card" so put the full $78 bill on my card, then instead of giving the cash back they voided it so now I have to wait 5-7 business days and will be short on Christmas presents for my fam! Because in total Applebee's deducted about $120 from my card!!! I will never go to Applebee's again!!!

Well since the voiceovers on the commercial are done by the actor who played "Aidan Shaw" on Sex in the City, I've always had a soft spot for Applebee's and since I was able to upgrade my cleaning crew pals from Golden Corral to this spot - youbetcha Applebee's is A-OK with me. This particular branch is on the edge of the megalopolis of shopping known here in South Florida as "Sawgrass" - and trust me - after forging through those crowds in too many stores to remember just for some clean socks and undies - damn, you need a drink! Applebee's does not disappoint. Like other similar chains (think Longhorn, TGI Friday's and Olive Garden) there's always some saccharine sweet wine infused Sangria; a Long Island Iced Tea to remind you of your foolish collegiate days and a do-able beer list. Appetizers are filling and while probably not to kind to your waistline, are still generous for the hungry bellies recuperating from shop-a-thons; I actually liked my bread sticks that came with a lovely beer flavored saucey dip. If I dare to brave Sawgrass yet again, I just might be back. Shout out to David our server who greeted customers enthusiastically and also expressed concern for elderly patrons braving the elements that day (rain and more rain).

Everything went wrong last night. I went with my wife and girls and we had a very bad experience. Although the restaurant was less than half empty, the menu I got was ripped as something had glued two inside pages and then ripped appart by someone. I asked for a medium well steak (took more than regular time) and came out well done, the potatoes that came with the steak where overfried in old oil (bad taste). My wife asked for an onion soup (no good), one of my kids (cheeseburguer eater) left one of the mini burguers in the plate. Very dissappointed, second and last, not going back.

I was not sure if I should go with the 3 or 4 star. But my meal was actually good. I expected the worst and it was pretty good. Service for me was good but looked a little slacked around us. I ordered the 2 for 24 and got Napa chicken & portobellos, boneless wings for a starter. I asked for extra spicy wings and none spicy but they could not do this so they gave me the spice on the side which was way to salty. Wings were ok!! This cost them a star.

The food was good, but the service was horrible. The waitress was attenative but the ticket time on the food must have been like 45 mins or more. It was a crazy long wait for a place that wasnt even that busy. Just for the long ticket time I probably wont go back.

I don't want to say that I hate Applebee's, but why would anyone ever eat there? I first ate there a few years ago when I worked in an office across the street from one and everyone also seemed to want to eat there because of the convenience. I didn't really enjoying the food I got there, but it wasn't bad enough to stop going every once in a while with my co-workers. Then came the other day when it was decided after watching a movie and wanting to eat somewhere but not have to wait, to go to Applebee's. It should have been a hint that there was no wait when all the other restaurants were packed. The food was by far some of the worst tasting food I have ever eaten. My boyfriend ordered steak which wasn't a smart move since it is commonsense that it probably wouldn't taste good at a place like this. He did anyways and was severely disappointed. He said the potatoes weren't too bad and the veggies were fine. I had the ribs and I don't know how to describe why I didn't like it other than it was just terrible. The fries too. Cole slaw was surprisingly okay. We started with the mozzarella sticks which also weren't good either. I don't know exactly how you mess that up. All the food was lukewarm and tasted like leftovers they attempted to warm up but didn't feel compelled to fully do so. The service was horrific too. Dirty plates were left on the table the entire meal and the waitress never bothered to check in on us. Please just do yourself a favor and avoid this chain or at least this location.

I came here with a party of 6 for a celebration lunch after my brother's graduation ceremony and we spent over $100. I got the $10.99 deal with the lettuce wedge and the steak and potatoes. The potatoes seemed like they were left over from a large batch because I only got 4 and a half and the rest were little potato bits and they were cold. My steak was supposed to be medium rare but I received it medium well and it was very chewy. My brother asked for no mushrooms on his enchilada and yet there were still a couple on there. My father asked for a burger medium rare and they told him they could only do medium or well. This leads me to wonder if that is due to a bad quality meat or simply the skills of the cook. I've had medium rare burgers at small restaurants for much cheaper that were cooked perfectly. Everyone had little issues with their meal and each said they wouldn't eat there again. (I asked.) I definitely won't go back there again. I would suggest you don't either. The service was good, our server was named Sam. He was very attentive. If my fellow diners weren't embarrassed of complaining about the food, I definitely would have sent my steak back. To summarize: Good service, bad quality of food, food cooked incorrectly, and over priced in comparison to the food we received. I wouldn't recommend you eat here.

I tend to go to Applebee's when I am bringing my daughter back home to her mom. My daughter loves it, I think is ok. Nothing special, the last steak I had there was a bit tough to eat and their menu seems not have change in a while. I used to love Applebee's but I am not a big fan now. Nevertheless, it is conveniently located for me and my daughter to stop for dinner on Sundays nights.

When I was a kid, I basically ate nothing but chicken tenders. I could go to a fancy restaurant where they cost $50.00, and I'd still order chicken tenders. That being said, Applebee's has the best chicken tenders EVER. I love the 2 for $20 menu, and I have a hard time choosing which appetizer to get off of it. It is just wrong for them to give me the option of boneless wings, mozzarella sticks, spinach & artichoke dip, AND queso blanco all at once. (And onion rings, but those are gross.) As far as entrees, Applebee's has a good selection of options that will satisfy just about anyone, and even five entrees under 550 calories. I'd definitely recommend this location.

Its been over a decade since i've visited Applebees. I remembered not being impressed with all the strange chooce in ingredients. But today i dined there and loved it. Their overuse of applewood bacon does not come unloved. Who doesn't love bacon, right? They have a great balance of favs not unlike other chaims like Chilis and Fridays, just with MORE bacon. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Great place to hit next sporting event!

Lunch time was good. It wasn't crowded and it was quick. We were driving around seeing where we could get a bite for lunch before we came home after taking care of some errands down south. I gave the stuffed meatballs with noodles another shot and it was cooked absolutely perfect. I asked not to put all the spices on it because I can't stand to eat something that is going to have me drink water more than I can even consume my own food. It was a lot and I finished most of it. We split the the spinach dip, which is one of my favorites anywhere. The only thing that I didn't like about this place is that they didn't take the V.I.N. cards to build up points on my card on the purchase. They said that they are not affiliated with the program, which I thought was kind of odd. They are an Applebee's, so what kind of crap is that? Oh well, the service and food was good. The place is huge and has a lot of stuff to look at on the walls. It's good for groups or a date night. Remember to go shopping at the Sawgrass Mills before or after your stop here.

For applebees this place is a great spot to watch a game, have 2-4-1 drinks with friends and enjoy some wings along with their awesome spinach and artichoke dip. Never overcrowded, even when the Dolphins are playing...
