Father's Day at the Sonny's in Stuart, FL - 6/21/15 - husband only wanted Baby Back Ribs. We go and get there at 7:00'ish, we order, we're told they are ALL out of baby back ribs. :( Then the all you can eat chicken is on their 'specials' board, told they were all out of that too. Said, 'the lady in back shredded it all'. Offered shredded instead. Opted for the salad bar & soup. Then in my sandwich I found two tomato slices - both slices had the hard end - see photo. Gross. I mean, come on... The restaurant did give my husband's meal at no cost. Experience was disappointing and unsatisfactory, to say the least.

Awesome place to eat - particularly if you're bank account is a bit on the thin side. Wait staff was attentive and friendly! I will definitely go back.

I've grown up at this place. The prices are more than fair and the portions are generous. Just simple down home southern cookin. Never leave hungry or mad with this place. Really sweet waitresses work here. Make you feel like home. I like it a lot.

Worst experience I have ever had at a Sonny's. Management has no guest recovery skills they were out of regular ribs. They offered all you can eat baby backs for $19.99 when asked if they can sub the normal price for those they said no also they don't have all you can eat brisket at this establishment. I have been to over 25 Sonny's and they all have the brisket for the all you can eat. The manager that I delt with was Kathy. I wound up not ordering anything from this place at all. Because ribs at Sonny's is what I look forward to. I suggest you take the small trip up to the Sonny's in Port Saint Lucy for a far better experience

One of my favorites. I love everything about this place. Good food and good service. Eat in or pick up the food is consistently yummy.

I decided to have the brisket sandwich with two sides. I also ordered the endless salad bar. The salad bar was only regular lettuce no Romaine and the sides were fresh as well. The service was excellent the waitress was attentive she made sure I had everything but apparently there's not a big dessert menu because as soon as I was halfway through my meal I received the check which I do not like whatsoever hence the four-star rating. But in all the meat was a normal portion, the garlic bread was fresh, the sides were excellent and plenty full - you do get quite good portions here.

I've been coming here for about 15 years with my family. It is our go to place for a quick, cheap, and yummy meal. The wait staff is kind and very conversational. The building itself is clean and there's plenty of parking. I've grown up on Sonny's BBQ and I love it.

The service was very good, food was good fries could've been a little more fresh. But for what we ordered it came in a timely manner. Friendly staff

Sonny's BBQ is a chain BBQ restaurant originating from Florida and comes highly recommended by my partner Robyn. We were so enamoured with the place that we ate at three different Sonny's locations during our week in Florida. I have tried the baby back ribs, the St. Louis ribs, the pulled pork, the beef brisket, and the smoked turkey. The winner among the pile is the tender baby back ribs. Paired with the Sizzling Sweet sauce, this is quite simply an extraordinary combination. Kudos goes to the sweet corn fritters, nuggets of sweet corn fried to a golden brown and topped with powdered sugar. You will fall in love with them as I did.

This was probably one of the worst meals I have ever received at a restaurant, not to mention the service was sad. I ordered the half-chicken, all white meat with BBQ beans and fries. When I finally got my entree, I couldn't believe it. There was enough chicken to get maybe two bites off the large piece (I believe I received a thigh and leg, not white meat). The skin on the chicken was mushy. The beans appeared to have set all day, fries were lukewarm and looked like they were poured out of an ore Ida bag. Husband ordered the salad bar and pulled pork. My husband was not able to get much from the salad bar, first because waitress forgot to bring plates and second, because the bar was empty. He received a small portion of pulled pork which he had to eat by itself because he couldn't get anything from salad bar. The waitress also did not bring his bread or come back to give him a refill. Keep in mind we were at this restaurant for about an hour and fifteen minutes (did I mention it was ridiculously slow?) and the salad bar did not get restocked until we had already received our food. I complained to the waitress about the salad bar and my chicken. She said she messed up my order and gave me the "lunch" portion and brought me a chicken breast which took about 2 minutes. If they can bring a chicken breast that fast, why did our food take almost an hour to get to our table??? She said she would send the manager over and the manager NEVER showed up. I guess on the bright side we got a $2.00 discount... I have had better food and service at McDonald's and didn't have to pay $20 + tip. To top this whole experience off, we were sitting on wooden benches that were extremely uncomfortable. I will never eat at a Sonny's BBQ again.

I grew up eating at this place. It's cheap fair with good portions and heaps of southern hospitality. The waitresses will get to know you (to the point where I'm jokingly berated about where I've been when I visit). The place can get a bit busy before high school football games or Sunday after church but the quick service helps keep table turn-around high. Hungry? Go for their all-you-can-eat. Wanna eat healthy? Good luck, though they have a great salad bar. Must try: "Big Deal" with pulled pork and mac-n-cheese (a new menu addition)

No thanks. The salad bar gets gross. The meats are so dry my mouth gets chapped. Hmm...I'll try to say something nice, so....it's cheap? There, I said something nice.

I don't understand how they make money - endless salad bar is just $3.99 at lunch. With the prices of produce highest since 2007 crisis this does not make sense - and yet Sonnys seem to be doing very well. Having said that the main attraction is not the salad bar (even though it is quite good), a holy trinity of dixie cooking (pulled pork, brisket and ribs) are made on premises and offered at reasonable prices throughout the day. Both pork and brisket could be ordered in a generic southern style or as dry north carolina style dish. Sonnys will also do sliced pork, which is unusual. The staff is super-attentive and will accommodate any reasonable request, for example they offered to and then grilled chicken for us even though they didn't have it on the menu. I would hate this place to go under, so please consider raising prices 5/5 - simple, unpretentious southern cooking

  • Tim D.

In reality, there is nothing special about Sonny's, but one thing you can say is that it's consistently decent BBQ for a decent price. My one complaint is that with AYCE platters, they invariably bring you a nice portion the first time, and subsequent portion are the unappealing scraps. For instance if you get the AYCE ribs, the first plate has a bunch of meaty, tender ribs. After that, though, you get lots of dry bony ribs that just make you want to stop eating. For that reason, I tend to stick with a combo platter (the Super Combo is good when I'm really hungry) or just a sandwich. Every once in a while I just have to have AYCE ribs, and I'm reminded why I don't get them that often. Overall, this is a frequent stop when we're just looking for quick, cheap and filling, like those nights that we don't want to cook but don't want dining out to take a long time or cost too much.
