We have eaten there twice. The first time was mediocre. That was the better of the two times. The second time I had eggplant parmesian. I ate only half. Self torture was never my thing. Add in rather inept service and you have a poor experience

My husband and I tried this one night when we were looking for a new restaurant to try. Their house salad with gorgonzola cheese is really good! The bread basket offers a nice variety of breads including small pizza like slices. When I've gone I've usually tried the stuffed shells or the ziti. Both are very good . . . this restuarant is affordable and the service is good. Definitely one to try.

1st time here...I hate slamming mom & pop restaurants but what a pathetic excuse for a pizza. Ordered the "special" pizza which is sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic. Since I come from the land of pies, I'm usually skeptical about my pizza but this... Starving for cheeses, Microscopically-challenged toppings, how do you get pizza that pureed all the toppings together and barely any sauce on the dough and call that a pizza? to their credit though the Minestrone soup was good, but a little steep for the price $6.95 for a bowl but... I'm cutting you off forever.

Stay away...worst meal ever..limp, soggy salads, microwaved bread basket.. Husband had mediocre veal Parmesan, my chicken pasta dish had TINY bites of chicken, totaling no more than 2 ounces of meat, both raw & over-cooked broccoli...when I asked the owner's wife if this was a normal amount of chicken for my dish, she actually said "maybe you already ate it" WHAT!!!! Then she grabbed my dish, took it to the kitchen, then brought it back & said "my husband is the chef & he says lots of chicken in it" Our aloof server stood by the kitchen entrance, never came to our table until she brought our check & asked if we wanted dessert or coffee..really???? The only reason for the required one star is that my husband said his veal stayed warm while he was eating it..prices are outrageous for poor quality of food tonight. A very poor excuse for a restaurant..previous reviewers must have been relatives :)

Have you ever driven past a place time and again and think to yourself, "One of these days I need to stop in there and try it out?" Well, that's how I felt about Mario's, a nondescript Italian restaurant that occupies space in one of the countless strip shopping centers that dot US 1 through Stuart. What intrigued me about Mario's was the simple sign over the facade and the fact that they had sacrificed a precious parking space immediately in front of the door to put in a small fountain and some greenery. "Atmosphere!" I thought. So tonight, after pedaling around the neighborhood looking at Christmas lights, I talked my wife into giving Mario's a try. Inside we found a very comfortable vibe--yes, it has the standard fake brick walls, reproduction of Italian street (and canal) scenes on the walls, and lots of greenery throughout. Although the menu was loaded with a wide variety of dishes (land- and sea-based), we were in the mood for pizza, so we ordered the large Stromboli pizza ($20). In less than 20 minutes we had what resembled a fluffy roll in a wheel shape, loaded with meats and cheese and cut into about 12 thick slices. Suffice to say, it was incredibly delicious--especially when basted with the accompanying marinara sauce--and filling without leaving us feeling stuffed. We boxed up the five pieces we couldn't eat and will enjoy them in the next day or two. One thing I noticed was the collegial atmosphere exhibited by the staff. At various times during our dinner we were waited on by several of the staff members, and there was never a hint of territoriality or competition among them; rather it felt like a team effort, which one doesn't often find in restaurants--or many retail establishments, for that matter--these days. I highly recommend Mario's and plan to return to sample other items on the menu.

"I have been going to this place since I was 13 years old and living in Stuart with my parents. I still drive there for dinner occasionally from West Palm Beach (Over an hour drive), the food is that good! I highly recommend the Veal Parmesan! The prices are very reasonable. The chef's special (Available daily) is Veal Parmesan dinner with a side of Baked Ziti. It starts out with soup or salad, garlic and pizza bread, and finishes with coffee and real home made Italian cheesecake all inclusive for around $18. Everything is 100% authentic, and the same family has owned the restaurant for at least 25 years. I have eaten in Italian restaurants from Chicago to New York and over to Las Vegas, Texas, California and Phoenix, I have yet to find a better Italian restaurant."

I have been into Mario's several times and each time I feel "ahhh", the food is ok, and the servie leaves quite a bit to be desired. The nicest person seems to be the owner? who will seat you and say hello. I have often found that I sit for long periods with no attention, or simply a server asking if everything is ok. To get a refill of your soda you have to ask the guy and he makes you feel as if its an inconvenience.

This was our first time dining at Mario's.It started out well with delicious pizza bread and garlic knots. We all ordered the special which was also very good.Unfortunately, it was when we received the bill that the bad taste was left in our mouths. When my husband requested a crumbly blue cheese dressing on his salad, we were told that there would be an additional $2 charge. Now you may not think that $2 is very much. But each of our entrees were $18, and to add an additional $2 for less than an ounce of blue cheese was ridiculous. After enjoying the meal, we left extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. When it comes to taking advantage of a customer, it's a demonstration of a lack of integrity no matter what the dollar amount.

I had an amazing meal here last night. As a previous poster mentioned, it also reminded me of the good Italian spots in the North End of Boston . Very authentic Italian food like my grandmother used to make. Bolognese sauce was delicious. hard to find good Italian food down here in Florida and this place is a gem. The service was great, also.

A pleasant surprise in a nondescript strip center Been to some great Italian restaurants in Boston, LA, SF but this little Mom and Pop spot was truly outstanding Amazing garlic rolls, fresh tender pasta and very very fresh and sweet seafood Get the Frutti di Mare special or ask for it One of the best renditions I've had anywhere Simple, reasonable and very fresh A little undiscovered gem

What isn't good about this place? We came here on a whim while visiting family. Sweet little old lady served us. We ordered what she recommended, and the food was to die for. Huge portions. Just be careful not to eat the whole (delicious) bread basket before your food comes! The best Italian food I've had in a restaurant ever.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in town. They have good service, friendly staff, and the food...oh the food! Everything I have ordered had been absolutely delicious, and very authentic. It tastes like Italian home cooking. Especially their minestrone - it tastes just like my grandma's recipe. I know that's something everyone says in a review like this but it really does. I cook a lot of recipes that have been handed down in my family and this place is the closest to home cooking I've ever had.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant anywhere. Their sauce is outstanding, their calamari and eggplant parmesan can't be beat. In a strip mall and run by mom, pop and their family. My heart will break if it ever closes! A must try if you are just interested in great food.

Great comfort food, and lots of it. Order one lasagne dinner that is enormous and will easily serve two, plus an appetiizer and still take home enough for lunch the next day! And the service is friendly.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
