A cute little cafe with a beach town feel on the edge of a forest. The food was pretty good and there was a game of horse shoes going on outside in the back. We ordered coconut shrimp, the special... And a Spanish chicken breast dish of which I cannot remember the name. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. My only complaint is that the yellow rice is very dry. There was one waitress for the whole inside area but she was great... Always fast and polite. Good family place to eat.
Pretty cool serves basic beach bar food but only beer not mixed drinks. The atmosphere is Key West/islands-themed and the staff are friendly, but the food is only ok. My shrimp po' boy was fine, but not in any sense outstanding, and perhaps this is what we can most expect from a place along Highway 40 in the middle of the forest, but if they did have a full bar and built that up, I think it would only be to their credit. They do have an ample enough menu but really, if looking for a place more charming and such for a nice dinner after a day exploring the forest I'd have to suggest the Black Water Inn in Astor if headed east; if going back to Ocala though this might just have to do.
Wow! Loved this place. Accidentally found but we'll be back. YUMMY The Coconut Fish with Pineapple Salsa and The Fish Reuben sandwich. Also Great outdoor setting with Fire Pit, live music on the weekend. Owners and staff so friendly and accommodating. Don't miss this treasure!
