We go at least once a week, I love this place, the food is awesome, the best bbq I've ever had. They have all you can eat specials all the time & the sides are good too. Dont forget dessert, the homemade banana pudding is awesome! Also we love our waitresses ;)

Awesome! Last minute choice, for some hole in the wall BBQ, very clean, and wonderful service. We ordered the family platter and it we still had left overs. The ribs were a lot bigger then what we were expecting, and they had a good amount of meat on them. They could have a little bit of barbecue sauce choices, but that's not a big deal. I would recommend anyone looking for a home style country meal, try this place. I give it two thumbs up!!! Hope to try it again sometime

Just okay. Nothing was overly exciting. Neat picnic bench tables. Kids came with and they wanted burgers...holy cow it was expensive. BBQ was good though and if it were just me I'm sure it would of been fine. Clean place and friendly staff but not sure I'd go back anytime soon.

Food quality is spot on. Their BBQ beats the other chains hands down. I may or may not have said that my Southern Alabama-raised grandmother's okra was not as good as the okra they serve...but I'll never tell! Seriously, I can eat the stuff like some people eat movie theater popcorn. What deducts one star for me is the order accuracy. Something disconnects between what we order and what the kitchen puts together, and we've had a run of incorrect orders. It's not all the time, but it happens more often than we would like. We will continue going there because we love their food; we just have started checking our orders before we leave.

We decided to come here based on other Yelp reviews. Maybe we came on an off night. There wasn't much special about this place. I got the sampler meal and my wife got brisket and ribs. The ribs, drumstick and fried okra were all good. The rest was mediocre at best. the brisket and pulled pork were both very dry. They didn't do well as leftovers either. The Hellacious Hot sauce isn't really that hot, but it does mix well with the smoky sauce for a nice flavor. The corn bread and garlic toast (which had no taste of garlic) were really good. The sweet potato had good flavor, but was incredibly dense. I doubt I'll be back unless I'm really craving okra and cornbread.

I pit-stopped here because a friend suggested it. Not being big on BBQ it takes a lot to win me over. I made my to go order of a pork BBQ sandwich, black eye peas, and green beans. The sides were nothing to write home about. Maybe I should have taken my servers advice and gone for one of the starchy options she suggested. The sandwich was good though. There was sauce packed up in small containers so I could pick how much I wanted on my meat. Considering I've been to places where I wasn't fond of the sauce, this was much appreciated. The interior of the restaurant is no frills, my server was nice, and overall it was a good experience, but nothing really blew me away or had me wanting to go there the next day.

Let me tell you I was not happy when I left there ! The only thing nice was the staff. The food for the price that we paid was horrible (36.21) for two people. The cook needs to be fired. These people on here saying its good food must be friends or get paid because, our first time will be our last. first we ordered our drinks (lemonaid) which you can taste the powder, then the appetizer a basket of fries to share 10 to 12 fries, the place was not even that busy and we were there on a Saturday afternoon. The seats in the place were crazy the place needs remodeling. My husband ordered the all you can eat chicken and ribs , mac n cheese with a baked sweet potato and corn muffin. He did'nt even make it halfway through his plate,it was dry and needed to be drowned in bbq sauce. I ordered the bbq sampler with mac n cheese and fried okra and garlic toast. The okra was burnt beyond all hell and my meat was cold ,and needed to be drowned in bbq sauce as well. Both our mac n cheese cups were imitaion cheese sauce and it had a watered down taste we agreed the only edible food was our bread after all this my husband still left a tip...

I went here on a Saturday night. our party had 8 adults(4 Of them were growing teenage Boys) and 2 children. it is no frills. we sat at 2 picnic tables. our waitress was attentive and quickly took our drink orders and then our dinner orders. we ordered country ribs, brisket, pulled pork and chicken all the servings were large and very tasty. the best sides were the collard greens, fries and Cole slaw. the mac and cheese was ok. We didn't have room for dessert. Total bill for the 10 of us was $107.00 and that makes this place an awesome deal. This will be a regular place for us from now on.

Hands down best BBQ place I've been to date. Great food, great service, clean, inexpensive and so many menu choices. That's kinda why I'm giving it 5 stars. I'd make the 20 min. drive to eat here. We came for lunch, I had the BBQ sandwich for $5.99 with two delicious sides (Cole Slaw and Mac). Delicious, great portion and price. My daughter had the kids ribs $7.99 with two sides (potato salad/green beans) and garlic bread. Again delicious, great portion and price. Our server was Collette. She was the only server on, with 10 full tables when we arrived. I know she felt like she wasn't on the ball being so busy ...but honestly she gave awesome service too. I am surprised by some of the bad reviews, I am kinda surprised. I mean the last time I checked a Sonnys BBQ out, I was thinking McDonald's would have been a better choice. Then we tried another well rated BBQ place in Carrollwood that was overpriced and underwhelming...so give it your own shot. They also do $11.99 AYCE if that is your thing.

Did not care for this at all. I asked for cheese fries and they gave me French fries with unmelted shredded cheese. The food was pedestrian. The "All You Can Eat" could not be ordered to go. I don't recommend at all.

I love the bbq here - the pulled pork is plentiful, the chicken is not dry, the beef brisket is flavorfull, and they have excellent ribs. My preference is for babybacks and Harrys does them st louis cut with plenty of extra meat. Its also one of the few places in town that carries conventional sweet and smoky sauces alongside mustard/spicy mustard bbq sauces. Having grown up in the North Carolina area I have a taste for vinegar based bbq sauces which their Land O Lina sauce does nicely. Having recently gone low carb I cant do much with sides at a place like Harrys so green beans and collard greens are my only real choices. Still my wife likes their black eyed peas and cheesy mac and I can say their cornbread is decent based on past experience. Dont expect alot from the atmosphere - its a dive bbq place (as the best are). On the other hand they have all you can eat ribs Fri/Sat/Sun for cheap. I highly recommend for take out or some down home southern bbq feasting.

I read the reviews before I came here, so here we go . SHUT THE DOORS NOW!!! My Mac and cheese was like soup the ribs, chicken and pork that comes with the he man meal was disgustingly bland. No seasoning BBQ was to bitter. The garlic bread was the best part of the meal AND TO BOOT THEY DONT SERVE DR PEPPER OR MR PIBB!!!!!!. (What) my waitress was nice. Altho i was battling gnats the entire meal.To be nice I took my food to go good thing I saw some stray cats running around outside I hope there not as picky enjoy kitties. As for humans there are better place to try I'm sure.

Some friends came by from Tampa, and wanted BBQ, so we decided to try this place. It was once called Rodeo BBQ, then Floribbean BBQ, then Hungry Harry's Famous BBQ, and now simply Harry's Family BBQ. We all had the all you can eat chicken and ribs I had the collard greens, and a baked potato for my sides. The greens were a little better then canned greens, but tasteless. They needed the vinegar I put on them. The baked potato was ok. The BBQ Chicken breast was moist and tender, but tasteless w/o any sauce. The ribs were not very good, and tasted like they were cooked in an electric smoker, vs a real oak wood smoker. What little smoke flavor they had was not authentic tasting, and the color of the meat showed little evidence of a smoky cooking environment! Folks, this is Not real BBQ, I am sorry to say. The sauces were decent, service was good, the prices were reasonable, the place was clean. Sorry I can't give this place a higher rating.

As far as BBQ in Tampa goes, this is the TOP OF THE LINE. Not the (not)fancy building, (not)fancy interior, (not)fancy bathrooms - this is definitely a no frills kind of place....But if you're looking for really good BBQ, you HAVE to try this place. It's not GA or AL BBQ....but for Tampa, it's the best around. My husband was telling me about this place a long time ago, the one in Land O Lakes and how he should take me there some day.... Well, that day never came. But, here we are on the way home from the east coast, passing through Brandon, we decided we'd take a detour to this place and sure enough it was open! It's open 7 days a week, same hours every day....Yelp'd it to make sure and we were the only folks there on a Sunday night at 7:30 pm and Sarah, the ?Assistant? Manager greeted us with a smile and a "Sit wherever you like." So, we did and we started perusing the menu, which is also your placemat, and they were having a special. All you can eat chicken and pork. Unlimited sides, etc (start off with 2). What an initial portion! I didn't need to get more meat. Sarah brought out 2 sauces, Original Mild and Sweet & Smokey. My husband wanted the HOT BBQ sauce, so Sarah got it and warned us it would "knock your socks off!" Well, we like it hot. And mixing it with the Sweet & Smokey was the perfect concoction. The pork was pulled just right, the chicken was tender, had great flavor and started eating and eating and eating... My first set of sides were baked beans and sweet corn casserole. Well, the beans were just as good as any, but this sweet corn casserole WOAH! that was so good....I had to get more. I also tried the mac n cheese which was also very good. My husband got the special too, he could only eat one portion of meat and started off with the black eyed peas (were kind of bland but he said were great) and potato salad (which he loves their potato salad). 2nd set of sides were collard greens and green beans, my healthy man....those were both good....you wouldn't believe the collards were edible (to me). I've never found a collard I could eat. TIL NOW! All in all, the food and service were fantastic. I would drive out here for BBQ when I crave it. Because it HANDS DOWN beats any other BBQ in the Tampa Bay area!
