This was our first foray into Cuban cuisine and it was kinda hit and miss, but when it hit, it hit BIG! We ordered the Cuban sandwich with fries, and the smaller portion of the Churrasco steak, with tostones and yuca fries with mojo sauce. The Cuban sandwich was good, but I think we missed the point of combining pulled pork with ham and pressing it flat. Good, but not $8 good. Same with the tostones and yuca. The tostones was too salty and the yuca was just bland, as was the mojo. Just not our thing, I guess. But then came the Churrasco. Oh my! I used to think I hated Chimichurri sauce! This was so good that we ordered more to take home with us! And, knowing the pitfalls of skirt steak, I wondered at our server's description of a tender skirt steak that is still an inch thick after being pounded. Yes, it was tender, and yes, it was still an inch thick. The BF's family are ranchers. We regularly get the very best in home grown, grass fed, organic beef. The Churrasco was as good as the family beef. Our server was a delight. She recommended the Churrasco and she was SO right! She said the desserts are home-made by her aunt. We were mightily disappointed not to have room to try one. They ALL looked AMAZING!

Our favorite local Cuban restaurant currently after a few initial great experiences. The staff has been friendly and prompt in each of our visits. Between our friends and ourselves we've had many of their dishes now - my favorites are the sampler, Ropa Vieja, and mofongo. Desert-wise they have lots of tasty options but I recommend their Tres Leches.

I've been to Las Palmas twice now and it didn't disappoint either time. The first visit I had the Picadillo which inspired me to go home to WI and make it! This time I had the roast pork and it was fabulous. I love the plantains and they do them perfectly. Definitely a great place to stop for your Cuban food fix!

We have visited many Cuban restaurants but none better than Las Palmas-- in fact, the vaca fritas was one of the tastiest dishes I have eaten in recent memory! Prompt, friendly service, very reasonable prices, large portions, an extensive menu... not to mention the tastiest Cuban food anywhere. We live very far away but would go out of our way to come here again.

Terrific food & ambience. Although it was obvious that they had not expected such a large crowd late Sunday night the staff kept things moving. My redfish was worth twice the price & my wife raved about her Cuban sandwich. Only downside is that the waitstaff does the bar tending also.

This place is incredible! Authentic Cuban and Puerto Rican dishes. I had the Ropa Vieja along with the Cuban sampler. My Dad had the Cuban Steak Sandwich. We were both VERY satisfied with our meals. To top it all off..our server Luisa was AMAZING. Super friendly, knowledgeable and patient (with my Dad!). We adored her! Can't wait to go back when I'm in town again. Highly recommended! There is something for everyone on the menu!

I just had one of the best meals of my life here at Las Palmas Cuban Restaurant!! The Paella Marisco (Seafood Paella) is one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. First off how I got to this great meal and place; When I got to the Sebastian area I saw this place on Yelp and wanted to get a good Cuban Sandwich. I saw the restaurant in a strip mall driving around and figured I'd give them a try for lunch. I had a beer there while waiting for the sandwiches to go. The staff was friendly and the beer was cold. The food that went by when I was there looked and smelled great. The decor was bright and festive and I began to like the place already. I looked at a dinner menu while waiting and saw Paella. I said then and there - if the sandwiches were good - I'd be back for Paella. The Cuban Sandwich I had was most excellent and the Steak sandwich Monica had was great. It was the eve of Valentines Day and we decided to beat the rush and go out for dinner. We decided to come to Las Palmas for Paella. On arriving we found the restaurant rather crowded but we got a nice booth with no wait and there was even live music. Our drink orders were taken and delivered quickly by the lovely Victoria. We had the Garlic Shrimp appetizer and it was fantastic!! Great garlic flavor and shrimp cooked perfect and served with great bread. We had salads that came with the dinner and got the house cilantro dressing and it was full of great flavor and the salads were fresh and tasty. When the Seafood Paella arrived I was blown away by its beauty and aroma!! It looked better than I could have imagined and smelled like heaven!! Our fists bites were followed by moans of joy!! The flavor was instant joy!!! The rice and all the seafood were cooked perfect. It was moist and tender and it was so loaded with flavor that we both felt we found nirvana!!! Victoria our server checked on us often enough and refilled our drinks as needed and always re-apeared when we needed her. (And she was gorgeous too). The prices are very reasonable here. (and much better value and flavor than places on the water a few blocks away) Don't postpone joy - try dinner at Las Palmas. I can't wait to return. I've added pics.

This place was great and I'm real picky with cuban food! With a selection of cuban, Mexican, and even some Puerto Rican dishes; I want want much. I am happy I was wrong!

The place was very cute and clean, there was music and a relatively nice atmosphere. However the service, although polite, was incredibly inexperienced and slow. My table ordered water and it literally took 20 minutes. We had not yet put in our food order, but once we did we waited an additional hour to get it. Overall the food was okay, not great but my moms was pretty bad. She couldn't even finish it because it was so salty.

Good food, friendly service and the happy hour wine glass is full! It's been a year since we've been there, and I'm looking forward to lunch or dinner here next week!

Went there for dinner during Belmont Stakes. No tv's had the race on so we asked if one TV could show the race, as it was predicted to be historical. The server came back saying "the chef is the only one in control of the remotes and he's too busy to come out and change it". Seriously? And you want someone to come back during a popular sports event? Not a chance. How long does it take to change the TV?

What a fun surprise in a strip mall in an out-of-the-way place. Good, authentic Cuban food, friendly neighborhood feel, great service. The Cuban take on paella was delicious. The mofongo was worth the try. Very friendly place with an entertaining decor.

I am Cuban and have to say this is the best, most authentic Cuban restaurant I have ever been to! Service was off the hook and the mojitos are bomb! Don't pass by this gem. You won't regret it.

Me and my mother just shared the whole fried snapper with some carne tacos and everything is AMAZING. The snapper was particularly delicious and cooked to perfection, we had to take our time to savor and remark the taste of everything. Our server, Mazi , was so sweet and awesome~ She kept us very comfortable and updated with our orders~ Superb service!!!!

Nothing like some good Cuban food! We spotted this place off US1 and thought Cuban food sounded good for lunch. We ordered the potato ball with beef as an appertizer, very good and flavorful. Bread came out early before the appetizer and was very good, hot and crispy. I ordered a steak sandwich and my counterpart ordered a pork sandwich and soup. Great food and portions. Sandwiches were flavorful and well made, soup was delicious. I also would like to mention for an authentic Cuban sit down restaurant the prices were very reasonable, especially when you don't want to spend a million dollars for lunch. I'll definitely be back!

Went for first time last night. Ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was just OK. The waitress looked annoyed that we were a party of 7. I asked for a margarita and was told she would try "her best". What? I got an iced tea instead. Sandwich was pretty dry and not what I normally expect from such a good sandwich. Also tried a sampler if different appetizers that all pretty much tasted the same. Probably won't go back.

Florida has some of the best Cuban food anywhere! And this place is no exception. Happy hour all day? Yes! Fantastic (and strong, mind you) mojitos were two for one. $6.00 for two (strong, tasty) mojitos is unheard of! Chicken medallions sauteed with carmelized onions, yellow rice, black beans, boiled yucca and sweet plantains- all excellent. Tasty, tender, just right.

Fantastic food. I was craving Cuban cuisine while we were here in Vero. Hubbie kept finding cuban sandwich places and widening our search found Las Palmas in Sebastian with a full Cuban Menu. I had the Masitas dela Puerca with Yuca Frita and a Side Salad with Flan for desert. Hubbie had Fricase de Pollo with Yuca Frita, Tostones, and Side Salad with Empanada de Guava y Queso for desert. Everything was beautifully plated, wonderful flavors. Our previous favorite for Cuban Cuisine was Columbia (Tampa, St. Augustine, etc.) and this Resaurant topped the Columbia.

The owner, Edna, contacted us and apologized for the service, explained what was going on that night and then invited us back. We went this afternoon. Our lovely waitress, Jackie, could not have been more accommodating and the food was -as always- amazing. The great thing is, she didn't know about our conversation with Edna; She was just an awesome waitress and we appreciated the stellar service she provided. Was I too harsh with my prior review? Yes I was. We were tired and hungry, the restaurant was having (unknown to us at the time) technical issues and it a bad night all around. Edna, you have the best Cuban food in the County and you have heart. Thank you.

My girlfriend and I love Cuban food...but until we visited Las Palmas, we had decided Zero Beach had nothing to offer. Although we'd driven by the restaurant several times, we didn't dine in until last Saturday. The restaurant is plenty big to accommodate large crowds, offering a choice of seating at tables, booths or the bar. The decor is semi-garish with lots of yellows, reds, greens in a style resembling 1950's Havana - from what I've seen of movies cast during that period. The menu is chock full of hispanic dishes - not restricted to Cuban cuisine. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, Wanda ordered something similar. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The portions were large. Service was what one would expect from a Saturday night crowd. Not exactly slow...but we had to wait longer for our food and our check than we've waited in other restaurants on similar evenings. We both commented on the noise which left it almost impossible to carry on a conversation in a normal tone of voice. One other negative was the server had her arms and legs covered with tattoos. And our appetites began to vanish! I'm not sure what the tat craze is all about - but nearly everyplace we go we encounter wait staff and other employees sporting body art. Ugh! I doubt if anyone else commented on this, but if I owned LP, and my employees had tattoos, I'd insist they wear long sleeves, long pants or other clothing that covered them up. We'll probably go back. There were some dishes that were delivered to nearby tables that looked interesting and delicious. Maybe we'll go at lunch on a weekend to avoid the noisy crowd.

Was in the area and looking for a good Cuban sandwiche so found this place. It was nicely decorated, clean and the staff was friendly and very attentive. The Cuban sandwich was just average for me. I have had better and I have had worse. The pork was chucks of pulled pork not sliced. They served the sandwich with a side of fries which were overly salted. I mean over the top. One thing that concerned me is that had a guy standing outside with a sign jumping up and down on the sidewalk trying to get business. You ask me it is kind of cheesy and says we must be desperate in the need of customers to try to gain this kind of attention. A classy place doing well would not stoop to having a man with a dog dancing around with a sign to promote,

I have eaten at some of the best Cuban and Latin restaurants in South Florida (lived there forever) and I have to say that this place is one of the best Latin restaurants that I've been to in a while. My family has been there twice now (recommended there by friends who also frequent the Sebastian area often). Both of our dining experiences have been excellent overall. I am going to rate the food, not the possible wait on a Saturday night in season, noise due to being busy, staff's body art, etc as others have done. If you don't like tattoos, OK, my advice is don't go out to eat then. Unfortunately, everyone seems to be covered to some extent nowadays. But, to blast a family restaurant because some wait staff have body art, or because there was a wait because the place is busy, or due to this, the place is a bit noisy and other similar complaints seems odd to me. This restaurant is just a down-home family place that serves top-notch Latin cuisine. The MOFONGO RELLENO DE CAMARONES AL AJILLO was just fantastic. Not many places do Mofongo at all, let alone well, but this place does. It was just amazing, one of those dishes where you drop your head, close your eyes, start chewing very slowly and relish the moment. I'm not going to break this dish down. If you've never had mofongo, just get it and experience it. I suspect the secret ingredient might be crack combined with black tar heroin. Only from what I've read, of course. The WHOLE FRIED RED SNAPPER was also excellent and the presentation was great. My wife and kids might say otherwise because it looked like it was swimming on the plate, and of course it was head on, but it was just a fantastic dish. The kids got a kick out of that one. The snapper was very crispy yet succulent inside, and flavorful. Perfect execution and presentation. The kids tried the adult Cuban sandwich, and it was very good. Instead of using pork roll as one of the components, as most places do, they use house-roasted pork. I remember someone complaining about that here. Really? You'd rather have a Wally-World processed meat sandwich? Just go to MickyDs, get your Happy Meal and go home. My wife ordered the VACA FRITA and absolutely loved it. I tried it and also thought it was fantastic. She called it food porn, and complained that she could not stop eating it. She said that it was so good that it was just wrong; it was forcing her to gluttony. It was amazingly flavorful. She also had the GARLIC PORK CHUNKS and loved that dish too. I also really enjoy that dish, and it did not disappoint. It was one of the best renditions that I have had. It was very flavorful with garlic and lime, was crispy on the outside yet very juicy on the inside. We also had the boiled yucca with the lime/olive oil/garlic sauce on top. It was good, although I really enjoy it with fresh oregano on top as some places do. With an extra squirt of lime, it was quite good. The black beans and rice are pretty good, although I make a better version at home. I just make a simple sofrito with extra garlic in olive oil after cooking the black beans as you normally would, then add that in. That adds a ton of flavor, but it probably is not traditional. This restaurant is one of my favorite places in Sebastian now and I can't wait to go back.

I am a Cuban from Miami, where you supposedly find the best Cuban food in the world. Well La Palma gives the Miami Cuban restaurants a run for their money. My wife had the Churrasco Ranchero which was amazing and I had my all time favorite dish, the Bistec Milanesa de Res. Neither disappointed coupled with the fact that they give huge portions and not huge plates with a bite size appetizer in the middle. You definitely get your bang for the buck here and I look forward to coming here again. The service was excellent and the place was just perfect. Please open a location in Miami. Thank you for reminding me of home and kicking it up a knotch!

The food here is amazing. This place was recommended by my boss and his wife and they were right about the flavors and quality. Portion sizes are good for what they charge. We started coming in regularly last year and stopped coming in for dinner because it took forever for the food to come out when we came with my inlaws and ordered Mofongo on a Saturday night. We started coming in for lunch during weekdays because the food came out very quickly but the last time the service sucked. If that had been the first time we'd visited it would've been the first and last. We ordered sweet teas and the waitress refilled them with unsweetened and then disappeared. My husband had to go up to the bar to get a sweet tea refill because I physically needed the drink. Overall we'll probably be back for take out in the future but are avoiding the place for now due to the horrible experience we had the last time.

Always a great meal. Service can occasionally be a little slow but not anything to get upset over. Just be prepared. The servers are very nice and very sweet. Cafe con leche is perfect for after a meal. Businesses can either tank or excel when moving locations and this place EXCELS!

During our vacation to Vero Beach, we wanted to try all kinds of different foods that we can't find in MI, Cuban was high on our list. Not knowing anything about Cuban food, we asked our waitress a TON of questions & asked for suggestions, she never seemed to be bothered by us & our ignorance of Cuban food, this place was great, my 6 & 9 year olds loved it too, the kitchen made things less spicy for my 6yr old, which was totally appreciated, my 9 yr old had paella, my 6 yr old had lobster tails & I had the best black beans ever! Not to mention the Cuban coffee... Why did I not know about Cuban coffee... The 2nd best shot of coffee I've ever had & I'd have never know about it, if it weren't for our kick a*s waitress.

Home-style Cuban! I am pleasantly surprised that this far north from Miami, and this far south of New York, you can actually find great tasting, fantastically aromatic, deeply flavorful, traditional Cuban cooking. Economically priced, clean and comfortable surroundings, family friendly and great service is the icing on the cake. Highly recommended - I'll keep going back!

2 for 1 Margaritas!!! Big and delicious!!! Scenery as well as waitress was pretty authentic. My boyfriend got the Cuban and I got the chicken entree that came with two sides. SO MUCH FOOD! Our bill was somewhere around $21... Cannot complain at all!!!

We ate at Las Palmas the first night of our camping vacation (at Sebastian Inlet State Park). After much discussion about whether to eat at a waterfront location or look for good food(very rarely have we found both in the same place), we decided to look for good food. We found it at Las Palmas. We were seated quickly and our first server took our beverage order. we asked her for recommendations and she gave us several. Our waitress came with the beverages and we asked her for recommendations as well. One of the items that both of them mentioned was the Pork Chunks. So, we ordered those (to share) with the Moro Rice (Cuban Rice and Beans) and The Fried Plantains. The Pork Chunks were good and the Moro Rice really added some authentic Cuban flavor. The Fried Plantains were like candy. It was like having dessert as a side.

We've been to Las Palmas a couple of times and have never been disappointed! The empanadas are great (though a little greasy), the cuban sandwich is great (though not Miami-Cuban great), the mofongo is delicious (but overpriced). Fun environment, great service, we'll be back!

Had the Cuban Sampler, Havana Tapas, Mofongo Drops, Marquitas, and a Churrasco. Excellent food. Next time we are in Vero Beach we will be coming back.

Love this place. All the pork dishes are excellent. But in my opinion their Black Beans are to die for. They also have the best Cuban Sandwich I've ever had. Love the two for one wines, they just come in one giant wine glass.
