Service, top notch. Quality, outta this world Easy-to-shop, yay! Cleanliness, way beyond expectations. Selection, better than all the rumors. Price, well, just be sure you have a BIG grocery/luxury line item in the budget. All said, it's well worth the price for the quality and superior items. I'm sure only a very few can shop here on a regular basis. I walked away with one grocery bag and one bakery box for $85. Still ... I'll come back again and again for that just-right, must-have ingredient or special occasion bakery item.

Service was 2 stars and the pastries could be a 2 1/2, but the dirty chai latte was a 4.. t h e new employee did not know much of anything. We had to show her what the French macarons were. We bought one of flavor for $1 each....cheap I know and ya get what you pay for. They were not good at all. The cookie had no crunch or true body. The fillings were lack luster, one just has jam. The other employee that was training the other dud not know what a dirty or hippie chai was. Even though I had to tell her what to put in it, the chai was from loose leaf and it tasted amazing. The service was way too slow and they need to train a bit better.

This place is amazing! Great service, a bit pricey i got some spanish picos since is so hard to find but i think $5.99 for a bag of them is way too much when you can get a bag of it in spain for no more than a $1 but the selection was great and wanted to spend more time diacovering more things!

Morton's is the place to go when you want to find something special like handmade chocolates from San Francisco, fresh made sushi, smoked salmon and imported and American cheeses. They have high quality meats and seafood, it's the place to get the best fowl for Thanksgiving. I am not a fan of their hot prepared foods as they are in most cases very heavy on the garlic or of the desserts, which are very industrial tasting. Their pre-made tuna, chicken and salmon salads are good. I do love going in and exploring their shelves, I usually find something delicious that no other store carries.

We were thrilled to find this upscale market; that is, until we tasted the food. We brought home a variety of pre-made dishes and they ranged from fair to terrible. The worst item was the pulled pork, which was comprised of tough-as-nails strings. Even our dog was unable to chew it. The rest of our purchases were just fair. I'm giving the market two stars rather than one because their produce and meat was very nice.

All I can say is... YUM! Endless selection of quality foods. Anything you want, they will have it here, fresh and delicious. LOVE EVERYTHING. Must come to Morton's if you are in Sarasota!

Best place to get gourmet foods in the area. Stop by and get some blue cheese stuffed olives and stuffed grape leaves. And have a picnic outside at their tables. Everything is delicious and the selection is fantastic. Don't forget to stop by the bakery for a cup of coconut coffee and some sweets. This is a fun place to swing into for cooking inspiration.

If you are a foodie - this is your mecca (well in Sarasota ;-) It's small but it has EVERYTHING .... we went here every other day and found something new every time. Their meat counter has a lot of choices including buffalo, ostrich, boar along with the usuals. There's a good amount of wine selection, cheese, organic produce, prepared foods, jam/jellies, chocolates but their bakery and olive bar are a little light. The best though is their chili - absolutely fabulous!! Go and discover - enjoy!

This review is for deli sandwiches, specifically roast beef on rye. This sandwich is a religious experience when delivered from a capable deli. However, although the servers at Morton's are wonderful, they're working with substandard materials. The quality of deli meat is not what I'd expect from a gourmet market. Thumann's roast beef is really nothing special and the rye bread served here was unrecognizable as such - maybe whole wheat? You'd probably do better at Publix. The pickle was ok though I didn't buy the sandwich for the pickle.

What a fabulous specialty grocery store. My 4 stars is more based on the fact that the only thing I have bought there so far is Pickles - the only place we can find fresh dill pickles that we have become addicted to. Don't go at lunch time if you want to look around - do go if you want to find something great for lunch. There is a pastry and coffee shop attached, I didn't dare go in there!

Try the "Waldorf Salad"!! In the Southwest, this dish is known as a Sonoma Salad. It contains large chunks of chicken mixed with nuts, grapes mayonnaise, raisins, pecans, celery etc., A lot of franchises make this salad but they use a LOT of mayo and the other ingredients to save on the chicken - not Mortons. Their Waldorf was the best. Also, the shrimp salad was recommended by the young lady running the deli counter. She was right, and i'm glad I listened to her. That was the freshest shrimp salad I've had in a very long time. Everything I've had from this gourmet market says "quality". Great service, and great food.

How have I never been here before? Oh my! I was planning on grabbing a coffee at Perq today, but when I drove by and the parking area was full, I proceeded up, and caught a glance of the bakery...and then, the store! What?! A gourmet grocer that I had not yet visited in town? This had to be remedied! I had to circle the building, but then I found a spot in the rear lot. Woot! Inside, I was once again breathless - there were so many amazing smells, sights and the energy...! I was pretty much in heaven, especially after sipping on my latte from the coffee shop, which was prepared for me right behind the gorgeous display case of scrumptious looking cookies, cupcakes, tarts, mousse cups and more. I was tempted by so many items - especially the sushi, which was being freshly prepared as I walked by - but I decided to leave today with just one basketful of items, including a prepared "Brazilian Cobb Salad" (which contained peppers, black beans, corn, cashews atop fresh greens) and some local chocolate bark for my Valentine :) I will be back!

Today I received my 3rd gift from Morton's Gourmet Market. Each time these desserts have been amazing. The first was a cupcake from my wife, a pecan pie from friends, and now a small key lime pie. This place rocks!

I really enjoy going to this market. They have a wonderful selection of groceries that are simply difficult to find. Unusual drinks, spices, teas, meats and cheeses can be found here. In addition to the fun grocery items, there is also a wonderful selection of hot, prepared foods and deli foods. Everything we have tried, thus far, has been great. Super yummy and flavorful. Attached to the side of the market, you will find a small coffee and pastry shop. Coffee is only ok. Pastries are decent, not fantastic, but good. Pros: Wonderfully attentive service, great selection of products, patio seating if you want to enjoy a meal right there, really yummy and reasonably priced hot foods and deli salads. Very warm and pleasant atmosphere. This market is extremely popular, and it's no wonder. The staff remembers frequent shopper's by name and will spend a few moments with you, without hesitation, should you have any questions. It's quite a refreshing experience to a large supermarket chain. However, this is often a challenge in season, as they afford each customer this courtesy. During the busy season (Oct - Apr), they maintain the same level of attentiveness. I actually respect that, but just don't think there is any chance you can, "run in and run out." Cons: For every day grocery shopping, it's very expensive. We do most of our shopping elsewhere, but we buy specialty items here. Parking is a premium. In season, it's a challenge to find a space. Off season, you are fine. If you are a coffee fan, you won't be impressed with the coffee shop. Everything is pre-brewed. It's only ok. I found the desserts only ok, as well. This place is packed in season. So for those of us who live here, it's a challenge to actually "shop" here. You will have your cart bumped, foot stepped on or be elbowed in the check-out line. Be prepared to wait and not casually shop, as it's often so crowded, you can move a cart through the aisles. Regardless of the crowds or prices, we will continue to support Morton's. They are still a family-owned and operated business, with quality products and excellent service. There are not a ton of business left like Morton's, so as long as they are around, we will continue our proud patronage.

We really enjoyed our shopping experience at Morton's gourmet grocery today! Garry was so cheerful and offered a warm welcome. It is our second visit, and Karen the manager was so helpful in assisting us in setting up our warm chicken dinner and slice of pizza and offered us two wine glasses and bottle opener to enjoy our bottle of red wine. Alfredo n I dined in the bakery area. We had chatted with the bakery sweethearts, Kiersten and Charlotte, they recommended their personal faves from the plethora of a dessert choices and inspired us to try the pineapple upside down cake & lavender honey creme brûlée & a sample of coffee! Two great choicesWe entered back into the store to wash up and realized we forgot our stuffing mix that cutie pie newbie Toni went above and beyond to figure out where it was located... So thank you for making our day off, a fine example of sincere customer service. Building strong relationships all week long is what we do and today the Morton's family should be proud! Melissa & Alfredo new to Bradenton!

I guess my review is probably not worth much since I can't even afford to shop here, but therein lies the problem: they GROSSLY OVERCHARGE for pretty much everything. Many of the times they sell can be found at regular, non-gourmet supermarkets for about 50% less. Also, for a market that tries to pass itself off as gourmet, I'm surprised that they sell brands like Pepperidge Farm, Progresso, etc. A few other criticisms: -their pastries are good, but nothing to write home about- probably similar to what you could get at Sam's Club or Wal Mart -I tried one of their soups (chili), it had OK taste but it was extremely salty (but I've had better at gas stations, seriously) -customer service is rough around the edges (again- maybe Wegman's, a supermarket chain in the northeast, set my expectations too high) -I saw a few words misspelled on signs in the store (specifically, the names of foods) and a few other things, which, to me, show an inattention to detail (and I think that details matter) I think if the store offered better value in terms of price, quality, and/or service (kind of an ambiguous term, I admit), then this review would be less harsh, but frankly, the one star rating is well-deserved.

I go here if I need a speciality item or a good bottle of wine. They have delicious sandwiches, soups, an awesome little bakery, and a good meat and seafood selection. When I am making my own sushi I always go here to buy tuna and shrimp and its always very fresh. They have a great wine and cheese selection!

This is a great place to get quality food. I usually go here if I'm having a dinner party, to get some unique apps or real high quality proteins. The staff is always helpful and it can be fun talking to them about different ideas, foods, wine etc, and they seem to enjoy taking the time. That really adds to the experience. Went to get a REAL good steak and spoke with the butcher there for a while going over different cuts and what I should expect and how he would cook it. Ended up with a big 'Fred Flintstone steak' as I call it and it was amazing. Cooked it out on the BGE grill. Service - 4.5 stars. as above, always very good. Quality - 4 stars - again, always very high with items I've purchased. Cost - 3 stars. Pay for what you get. On the expensive side, which is why I don't come more often. I reserve this for special times, or holidays. Atmosphere - 4.5 stars. They did a good job with the place and the atmosphere adds to the overall experience.

Everything in this market is fresh and delicious! We always stop here when in town to grab prepared foods, fresh meats and delicious pastries. The salads sold by the pound are always fresh and different but pricey.

LOVE LOVE this place. It is very expensive, not gonna lie but everything is SO good. The bakery is just absolutely amazing. I could have eaten the whole place. My husband devoured the cupcake that I got him. The market part has awesome cheeses and meat and although expensive, they're pre-made food is fabulous as well.

I really don't understand the rave reviews and positive response to this market. I've shopped there three times in the past month and feel that "three strikes, you're out!" You know how you're driving down Osprey and thinking about cooking dinner and see Morton's Gourmet Market & Catering and think, "Hey, I'll just stop at Morton's Gourmet and let them do the cooking. I can stay out a little later and still serve a great dinner?" Well, I've been burned all three times. The first two times were just so-so. Will I ever learn? Yes. Last night I stopped and got (their description) fresh grouper stuffed with crab, delicious sautéed Brussels sprouts and butternut squash ravioli. Yum! Imagine my horror when, after following their directions for warming, I put this on the table for me and my friend and tasting it and finding out that it was an epic disaster. Not only can't the chef cook but is a liar. I can promise you it was not grouper. I know grouper. I eat it all the time at my favorite restaurant here in Sarasota and also buy it fresh and cook it myself. This was some nondescript white fish that had been sitting around for a week and tasted like something out of the dumpster. The Brussels sprouts were tasteless and bitter and the butternut squash thing was just mush and also tasted like cardboard. I took up both plates and scraped the plates into the disposal and popped a frozen pizza in the oven after apologizing to my friend. Oh, I forgot to mention that the crab stuffing had no crab in sight. Just a lot of bread with sage. I was looking for the turkey. Shame on you Morton's. That dinner cost me $53 and I'm appalled you would call that gourmet. I'm furious at being duped by you three times! Never again. And I can get perfectly good components for a GREAT meal at Publix. I gave the place one star because you can get some good stuff there in a can or a jar.

I have been shopping at Mortons Market for over 25 years. Locally owned by a great Family.they are the best! They know me by name and never hesitate to answer my questions or find out if they have anymore of something. That is great service and building relationships! Lots of choices in the cheese dept,wine,etc...The meat department has fresh great quality meat, and fish. There is a self serve salad bar, sandwiches to go,all kinds of prepared food to take home or you can have a slice of pizza and sit outside at one of the tables in the front or back of the store. Besides the Bakery with yummy deserts and fresh bread, they have all the coffee specialties...to go or have a cup with a chocolate cookie and your good to go.

This is for the customer service. After a disappointing experience trying to order a gift basket with Floribbean Flos, I called Morton's Gourmet Market. The women I spoke with was so much nicer and she helped me customize a gift basket for my coach's birthday, to be delivered the next day. I live in San Francisco, so I couldn't see the finished product, but fingers crossed it's a hit!

Through 25 years of living in Sarasota, I have counted on Morton's (ok, not so much during the Bill G. years, but . . . ). Some of the staff can be a little cranky by the time I arrive between 7&8 pm, but most are incredibly helpful. And Wally has saved me on more than one occasion when I forgot my cash (I am known to them & grateful that they will extend me credit for a day or two. Please do NOT try to take advantage of this - I'm only stating it because Morton's is the only place in town that still functions like a small town grocer for its regulars!) Good quality produce; excellent wine selection; great meats & cheeses. And many people I know stop to take home a prepared dinner.

Get the caprese salad! It is beyond delicious and worth every penny. I order this frequently and Morton's even tops an authetic Italian market that I shop at in St. Pete. Morton's is reliable and delicious, I would suggest it to anyone. Whether you're looking for coffee and dessert, pizza, or fresh groceries, this place has what you need (as long as you're willing to pay a bit more). Everything is quality, the store is clean and easily accesible, and there are some great options for fresh made meals whether you get them hot or refridgerated to take home. The pot pie and the 2012 salad are also some great options and there is a freshly stocked salad bar as well.

I could LIVE HERE!!! Just moved to DT Sarasota, I think I have been here everyday for the past 2 weeks! The choices are endless!!! If you don't like to cook, and is always looking for something quick and easy! You will fall head over heels for Morton's. I haven't had one bad dish here! TOTALY YUMNESS!

Shopping at Morton's Market is always a pleasurable experience. From the moment you enter the trendy gourmet market until the moment you leave, you are greeted by friendly, helpful staff. The vegetables, meats, and prepared meals are always fresh and tasty. Their pizza is absolutely the best in Sarasota! But The bakery is my favorite with more choices than one can imagine. I've been there twice this week and enjoyed one of their incredible napoleons (sliced large enough to share with a friend) and a slice of my favorite raspberry chocolate cake. Company visiting me, often remark that they wish they had a Morton's Market where they live!

A fantastic gourmet market! Been shopping there for goodies several years now, almost every time I'm in Sarasota. Everything in the cooked food counters are good, whether you like the salads or the entree's. My favourite at the moment are the poached salmons... yumm. Always buy enough for 2 meals. Going along with that is the dauphinois potatoes, a French version of scalloped potatoes. A minute of two in the microwave and it comes out perfect. The seafood is also excellent... I think they are getting the pick of the catch. Dessert from the bakery is also good. They have good cakes with beautiful frostings. The wine shop is pretty extensive and while it has good (read expensive) wines, I like their current selection of inexpensive "champagnes" after I spend the check on food. A particular favorite now is the Spanish bottle fermented Segura Viudas Brut, white or pink. Great in the summer for champagne cocktails or mimosas. Pricey but quite a bit cheaper than restaurants and the food is better. They take great pride in the quality. They also have about a dozen tables under umbrellas just outide of the two entrances. You can just buy the take out and then eat and drink at those tables. You can see the outdoor restaurant seats right across the street where everything is about 3 times the price!

Great intimate grocery store. And the staffs provide incredible customer service. The house made deli was pretty tasty - their crab cake was densely packed with crab meat. And don't forget to pick up a desert. It is probably hard not to after you see the offerings in the display case.

I love this neighborhood market. If it wasn't in my neighborhood, I'd drive the distance. The selection of prepared foods, wine, and cheese is exceptional. But I'm going to rave about that salad bar. Whole Foods salad bar may be six times larger..but that salad bar is oh so lame comparatively. I go for the spinach, beet, blue cheese, chicken, and red onions usually, but if you want fresh berries, artichoke, garbanzo, fresh egg, pumpkin seeds, .. It's here. I might add that the chicken is roasted. Yes. And sometimes still warm. I'm afraid to add that because I'd be really disappointed if everyone started stocking up and I'd be fresh out, but its the best.. so there you go. But, above all a good salad would be nothing without a good dressing. Their homemade balsamic dressing is absolutely delish (which they sell in bulk so you might want to stock up) You could drink this stuff it out of the container. Cheers!

The grocery is OK a little overpriced. The bakery makes great Hamentaschn, and all their treats are great. The hot lunch/dinner bar is just average normal food, but lots of it.

This place reminds of a Whole Foods or Wild Oats, but on a smaller/more intimate scale. They have some of the freshest produce I've seen (especially the tomatoes and corn!) and their meats are outstanding. I love the burgers with mix-ins (such as gorganzola, southwest, etc...) and their dijon chicken cutlets are the absolute best! Enjoy!

Morton's is simply the best for high end food. Want to drop $80 for stuff to munch on at home tonight rather than cook. This is the place. Always changing. Always interesting. Too many old Midwestern white people, but that's Sarasota. Can't wait for Trader Joe's to open down the street which will force MM to up its game as competition will do. Might stop in tonight before I go home.

I am happy just being in Morton's and I don't even have to buy anything. Of course I do though; the atmosphere is just so pleasing. Wish I could go right now and get something delicious. They have it all from desserts to gourmet food to upscale groceries. Out door seating in a very nice neighborhood.
