    Super cute restaurant. Clean friendly staff. The food was delusions, far from the normal Mexican fare. I liked the bakery display, and the grocery store was adorable. We can't wait to go back for the food and the experience.

    Came here for dinner last night with my husband, our daughter and my brother and his wife. We were a little ambivalent because the reviews have gone from great to bad on Yelp really quick. And now we know why. The salsa is quite spicy and it's not the "American" salsa. It's kind of yellowish in color and very liquid with no chunks and nothing "fresh" tasting in it and it was served with hours old flour tortilla chips that were not salted so they had NO flavor. We asked for a non-spicy salsa and some pico de gallo. The non-spicy salsa was a yummy warm flavorful Mexican red sauce. And I used the pico to mix in with the salsa they originally brought, added some S&P and some lime and presto great salsa. OK the entrees- Hubby had the taco salad with chicken- the shell was fresh and crisp as were the veggies, the chicken NOT SO MUCH...it had the texture of chicken that was cooked hours ago and then reheated. (We came to realize this would be they way most of the food would be) I had the chilaquiles, the red sauce that was brought out to us in place of the spicy salsa was used in my dish so that was great but again my chicken was off. It had the shape and texture of canned chicken. There was lots of sauce and chips and yummy cheese but it was hard to get past the weird chicken. I also ordered a chile relleno, big mistake. The chile was obviously fried earlier and then reheated in microwave and covered with a not warm sauce, therefore the cheese inside was rubbery and it was not edible. Our daughter had 2 chicken tacos and one beef, thank goodness her food was good. My brother had the mixed fajita plate with corn tortillas. Again with the reheated food, his meats and shrimp were dried out and the veg was hardly cooked. My SIL had a burrito that she said was good but didn't have a lot of flavor. Those of us that had rice and beans with our meal all sent them back because they were ice cold and then when they brought back more they were dried out. What a hot mess this place turned out to be. So sad....Needless to say we won't be back!!!!

    First visit at Guerrero's. As noted in other reviews, the service is a bit scattered (but friendly). However, the delicious food and outstanding value will definitely bring us back again for more! Tip: Try the chicken enchiladas with the mole sauce. AMAZING!

    OK. I am officially addicted to this place. The chimichanga is AMAZING, Mexican Burrito is to die for, and the pastries...just get a bag to take home or to work. Prices are equally awesome. The tacos are perfect and $1.50 each. I've been about 6 times in the past month and make an effort not to eat here every night. Love it. This place is authentic as you'll see from the clientele. Food is on the spicy side! Try the pastry that looks like a muffin with cheese in the middle! YUMMO! WARNING - Mexican Steak is SUPER spicy.

    I have been going there for more than 3 years now. The food is good, it's different from most restaurants around. But it is so inconsistent. Sometimes it is great, sometimes it tastes like absolute crap. Waitresses, I understand that they don't speak English well, but they can be very careless. Sometimes I'd say "What's that the person having over there?" And they will reply with "Haha, yes." It's funny but it's so unprofessional. Again, inconsistency is the real bother for me. Half of the times, I feel like 30 dollars went to nothing.

    I just moved to Tampa and I'm going to miss this place. The food is incredible. The tacos, pozole, home made corn tortillas, the home made chips and salsa, el pan dulce which some was home made, tamales and the list goes on - are all amazing and priced at an affordable price. They also have a small Latin market. The staff at least to me was always extremely friendly and helpful. Occasionally they were a bit slow but hey... It was my spot. Parking sometime was a challenge.

    I decided to try it out because of a friend's recommendation. I don't care if a restaurant isn't fancy but I do care about cleanliness. We walked in for a late lunch and all the tables were dirty, nobody bothered to wipe them off. We ordered the enchiladas with red mole, they were flavorful but the tortillas tasted old, leather-like, the mole sauce was okay. The chips and salsa were mediocre. The lack of higiene in the dining room is off-putting, I don't want to think what it's like in the kitchen. The service was very friendly.

    I am down from Atlanta visiting relatives. I had the pleasure of dining here yesterday evening. This is an excellent, traditional Mexican restaurant and bakery. The food was fabulous, the place was clean, they were very busy and it was easy to see why. I will be back for more! I asked for sweet tea, they didn't have it. Shortly after, the very sweet waitress came over with a large glass full of excellent sweet tea that she made special for me, at no charge! A good place, with people that actually care and will go out of their way to accommodate you... This is a very rare thing these days! And she was really cute, great smile, I would love to find a girlfriend like that! Eat here, the food is good and fresh and home made, right down to the chips and salsa!

    Very disappointing!! Chile Rellenos basically cold and awful, the house specialty, sopas were bad, mole enchiladas also bad; felt bad for the witness - sweet girl; had a taste of sangria which tasted pretty good.. Will never be back to that place! Yuk

    This is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Sarasota. If you're looking for fine ambiance, polished service, selective cocktails, or plentiful parking spaces - don't come here! But is you want delicious Mexican food, a chance to practice your Spanish, and an ambiance that is both casual and friendly, give it a try. Only judge it on its own terms.

    All restaurants have their strengths & weaknesses. I would say that there are certain things here that are good. Not exceptional but good. The chips were fried homemade flour tortillas. Their salsa is good. Not great. But good. Very hot. They have negro modelo on tap which is HUGE (to me! ; ) You rarely find that, in my experience. The Service was quick & efficient. I arrived At 8:30 pm so a bit later than the norm. I ordered the enchiladas: one with Chix & mole. The other beef & green sauce. The entree came with the requisite rice & refried beans. (I always ask for charro beans but I forgot. Not sure if they offer them. Didn't see them on the menu). So: the Chix was fine but the mole sauce was abundant & is pretty darn rich. It was good. The sauce was good. The Chix was good. It was sprinkled with cojitilla cheese. The beef enchilada was ok. The green sauce was delicious but the beef could have been more lean. I wouldn't order it again. Perhaps the Carne Asada street tacos are the way to go here?! I am not sure?! I saw other people ordered Burritos which always perplexes me. It's great if you are a Runner b4 a Marathon but for most ppl: Carbohydrate overload?! I am thinking, that going forward, I will stay with a few menu items: soft tacos, chile rellenos, or cheese & spinach enchiladas . I luv Cerviche but only a good restaurant can prepare that well, in my experience. I will try some other Mexican places around town. This place was okay/good but I just wasn't bedazzled by anything. Their BAKERY looks fabulous! I will def come back to try some items from there. I hope this helps : )

    We are making this place a habit! Have visited now 3 times in 2 weeks since first wandered in - wow i've passed by this place on webber and beneva a million times. SO GLAD because the food is excellent. I get the Quesadillas packed w veggies and cheese, fresh pico de gallo, fresh sliced avocado and sour cream - he is hooked on the red and green chicken enchiladas, Portions and prices are just right Late night hours - great food 7AM - 11PM even Sundays! We got take out desserts from the cooler- The rice pudding is flavorful and different- in a good way! The flan is pretty good too. If you like authentic mexican food, this is a gem!

    Don't go here. Food is bland and awful. I don't know what the other reviewers were thinking, but, I've never had Mexican food that bad. The restaurant didn't have the air conditioning on, just fans running. This made the experience miserable. The servers weren't attentive, and unlike other reviewers who said because their English wasn't good- not so. They understood us quite well. Our waitress never came back to our table. Drinks were served without a glass of ice and the ice tea had 3 pieces of ice in it. They have a bakery display in the restaurant and the goods looked yummy, but when we bought sweet rolls and cookies- stale! Unbelievably dry and brittle baked goods. This place was so disappointing. It wasn't crowded so it wasn't that they were busy -just a poor excuse for a bakery and restaurant. I don't recommend it.

    This was my second trip to guerreros and this place just does not disappoint. Both times I've had lunch here (enchilada and tostado) the food has been amazing. They serve up huge portions and somehow keep the prices low. The service is great and the restraunt has a very homey feel to it. I will continue to keep coming back!

    This place tastes like home. It tastes like my great grandmother's and my grandmother's kitchen. What a find! It was so hard to choose what to eat on the menu because I wanted it all. They bing you homemade chips and the most delicious salsa that is just perfect. So many Mexican restaurants don't make their own chips these days. These were authentic, delicious and crispy! I ordered a small bowl of Posole and it was just what I had been craving for since my grandmother passed away. The small is actually a huge bowl big enough to share. Joe and I went with 3 tacos, he had carnitas and I had carne al pastor and steak. They come on the most delicious homemade corn tortilla. WOW! My Mexican tummy was sooooo happy! Since they are a bakery (panaderia) I could not leave without getting some Conchas/Pan Dulce (Mexican sweet bread). This was the perfect way to end the perfect meal. I no longer live in Chicago where fabulous Mexican food is easily accessible... this was the taste of home my soul has been aching for.... Muchas Gracias!

    This is one of the best mexican restaurants I've been to; better than a lot of places I've been to back home in San Francisco. The chili relleno is amazing! Others in our party had the beef enchiladas. Yum! Best of all is the basic beans and rice served with each meal that was superbly yummy in my tummy. Only downside were the chips that came with our meal. Too hard to bite into.

    I am never picky and I pretty much like every place. I had the steak enchilada with red sauce. The sauce had a dirty dish water flavor. The servers were nice but the food was gross. I LOVE authentic Mexican food! SO dissapointed .

    Fantastic authentic Mexican food with savory ingredients. Absolutely delicious! The shredded chicken is wonderful. Authentic tacos, nice hot sauce etc. We ordered several things including the sopa de habas (fava bean soup). Very nice. If you like the real thing eat here, If you want bland, Americanized Mexican food go elsewhere. It longer than average Mexican restaurants for the food which I appreciated because I know they took care while preparing it. Worth the wait. Absolutely wonderful.

    Service was slow, communication was difficult, atmosphere was nothing special, food was not that great, & music was loud & annoying. Server set down SPICY salsa in front our 6-yr-old (who burned her tongue) & no water; no apology. Took forever to get drinks when we arrived & to-go bag before we left. Not impressed; won't return.

    This is definitely a decent Mexican restaurant in town, but the food could use a little more spice. We ordered nachos as an appetizer and the tortilla chips were borderline stale tasting. My boyfriend had the beef tacos which he said were a little on the dry side. My quesadillas were delicious though so, I guess the food is a little hit and miss. Like I said, this is a decent Mexican restaurant for the area, but there are better options around.

    Without question this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Florida. The quesadilla served on homemade bread is perfect. I like mine with rajas. And did I mention the chocolate atoles / champurrado! The drink typically includes masa (corn hominy flour), water, piloncillo (unrefined cane sugar), cinnamon, vanilla and optional chocolate or fruit. This combo is blended and heated before serving. Generous servings, attention to details and great prices make this my favorite restaurant in Sarasota and one of the top Mexican restaurants anywhere.

    I LOVE this place! I stumbled upon this place since it was a block away from the house and couldn't be happier. I have a mostly vegetarian diet and this restaurant is always wonderfully accommodating of that which can be unusual for a Mexican restaurant. If you are vegan order the over a pound burrito and ask for no cheese or sour cream. Their quesadillas on the homemade corn tortillas are terrific and if you look at the chalkboard there are two great vegetarian options of either rajas, spicy peppers, or championes, mushrooms. Since the restaurant makes pizza they always have a ton of fresh veggies on hand. In addition to being veggie friendly this aces staples are terrific. The salsa is fresh with lots of cilantro and the mole is authentic. Save room for desserts, which is close to impossible with the ginormous portions. The pasties are made fresh on premises and replaced constantly because there is a constant stream of people loading up bags to bring home. Enjoy this place but don't tell too many people about this little gem.

    Great food at a great price how can you go wrong! The service would be the correct answer. They are lacking in the english department to say the least. I placed and order (normally I go in person and point and such this way there is no problems) but I was in a rush so I did it all over the phone. Two of the items were on point and very tasty but the burrito was a failure to communicate. I wanted a pork burrito but when I dug into it I notice there was a little extra chew to the meat which I chalked up to a small piece of tendon, but with every btie I noticed that it wasn't going away at all. Upon closer inspection I look to find out that I had gotten pigs ear chopped into small pieces. Touche Hombre! You win.. Im not eating that, its not my cup of tea... Lesson learned, don't say your order just point it out. The food is really good and would normally get rated 4 stars based on quality and value.

    The best Mexican in Sarasota that we know of. You're served chips and salsa before they even take your drink order. The food is fresh and incredibly tasty! Very casual atmosphere. If you're in the mood for Mexican this is a great place. Service is great too.

    Fantastic, authentic Mexican food that is virtually impossible to find in Sarasota. No snow-birds or tourists here. Expansive menu, good portion sizes and low prices. A great value. And don't leave without trying some of their baked goods.

    As I get older I've been gravitating toward stronger tastes, spicier spices and more flavorful seasonings. When the doctor I work for told me that this was his favorite Mexican restaurant in Sarasota, I took him VERY seriously being that he grew up in Mexico. There are so many Americanized 'Mexican' restaurants in this area that are more about tex-mex than authentic food, and though I have been a big fan of Mi Pueblo up until this point, I definitely have a new top pick. Guerrero's has a totally no frills atmosphere. It does not have the awesome decor or waitstaff in costumes that Mi Pueblo or Two Senoritas has, but the food is awesome, and I'll take that over looks any day. We sat right away and the waitress brought over warm, fresh, super crunchy chips and a bowl of very spicy salsa. Yum. These are already so different than most Mexican restaurants around that we knew right away we were in for some great food. We decided to share shrimp fajitas and steak fajitas which came with rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes with fresh cilantro (YUM). The menu said that it came with guacamole too, but the green sauce we were served was quite avocado-less. The waitress explained that it was what they call guacamole when we asked about it, but there was a language barrier that prevented us from finding out what it really was. There was also no cheese served with these fajitas- but It really didn't need it. The peppers and onions were caramelized slightly and served with the shrimp and steak in a sizzling pan. They were all quite good- but the standout were the REAL tortillas. What a difference to have those over the store bought ones. They were so full of flavor and texture- even though they did keep falling apart wrapped around our fillings. I guess we probably overstuffed them but we really couldn't resist. The only criticism I had was that the rice and beans were room temperature (and that's being generous) , not hot. I'm sure we could have sent them back, but we had enough other food that we really didn't care that much. Even though we were quite full at this point, we couldn't help browsing the bakery filled with homemade Mexican breads and pastries. We each chose one to bring home and polished them off by the next morning. There is no question that we will be returning soon. We live close by and the prices are extremely reasonable- less than $10 for an entree? Wow. Awesome find. Thanks for the suggestion Dr. G!

    My wife and I have been here a couple of times, and stop in quite a bit for the baked goods. The staff is fantastic; the food is cheap; helpings are huge and everything is authentic. We really love this place and like that it's a local business we're supporting.

    Tried this place for Cinco de Mayo and would not return. While their bakery items looked great, we were disappointed to find they only serve beer and wine and most of us were hoping for margaritas. Both their mild salsa and gaucamole were very spicy and when we ordered queso they brought out barely warm cheese whiz. Add to that exceedingly slow service and that my entrée didn't arrive until everyone else at the table was finished eating and it was a very negative experience. I ordered the steak quesadilla and found it to be greasy and surprisingly bland.

    Total hole-in-the-wall authentic Mexican place with great food! Best mole chicken enchiladas I have ever had. You can tell everything is made from scratch. Salsa is very unique, fresh, and delicious. Service was pretty slow but server was very nice. I did not try any of the pastries but they looked delicious. Would definitely go back.

    been there a couple of times and like some places they have there good days and bad days there waitress take to long to bring the check there food is sometimes good when they have the right cook in they need to work on the waitresses and they need to bring the to go boxes faster with the bill

    There are some stand out items on the menu.....the key is finding the right ones. I have a couple of standouts to recommend. One is the pozole soup/stew. It is highly seasoned and the pork falls off the bone. Worth trying......My wife really enjoys the chicken flautas. They are very authentic. They key is the salsa de arbol: it is made of red chilis and is hot and very flavorful. The perfect dipping sauce. I use this salsa with their chicken milanesa: it transforms from average to awesome in one dip! I would rate them higher, based on our favorites, but the service can be a bit slow: so don't go when you are in a hurry.

Sometimes I'd say "What's that the person having over there?" And they will reply with "Haha, yes." It's funny but it's so unprofessional. Again, inconsistency is the real bother for me. Half of the times, I feel like 30 dollars went to nothing.

    I just moved to Tampa and I'm going to miss this place. The food is incredible. The tacos, pozole, home made corn tortillas, the home made chips and salsa, el pan dulce which some was home made, tamales and the list goes on - are all amazing and priced at an affordable price. They also have a small Latin market. The staff at least to me was always extremely friendly and helpful. Occasionally they were a bit slow but hey... It was my spot. Parking sometime was a challenge.

    I am down from Atlanta visiting relatives. I had the pleasure of dining here yesterday evening. This is an excellent, traditional Mexican restaurant and bakery. The food was fabulous, the place was clean, they were very busy and it was easy to see why. I will be back for more! I asked for sweet tea, they didn't have it. Shortly after, the very sweet waitress came over with a large glass full of excellent sweet tea that she made special for me, at no charge! A good place, with people that actually care and will go out of their way to accommodate you... This is a very rare thing these days! And she was really cute, great smile, I would love to find a girlfriend like that! Eat here, the food is good and fresh and home made, right down to the chips and salsa!

    Very disappointing!! Chile Rellenos basically cold and awful, the house specialty, sopas were bad, mole enchiladas also bad; felt bad for the witness - sweet girl; had a taste of sangria which tasted pretty good.. Will never be back to that place! Yuk

    This is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in Sarasota. If you're looking for fine ambiance, polished service, selective cocktails, or plentiful parking spaces - don't come here! But is you want delicious Mexican food, a chance to practice your Spanish, and an ambiance that is both casual and friendly, give it a try. Only judge it on its own terms.

    All restaurants have their strengths & weaknesses. I would say that there are certain things here that are good. Not exceptional but good. The chips were fried homemade flour tortillas. Their salsa is good. Not great. But good. Very hot. They have negro modelo on tap which is HUGE (to me! ; ) You rarely find that, in my experience. The Service was quick & efficient. I arrived At 8:30 pm so a bit later than the norm. I ordered the enchiladas: one with Chix & mole. The other beef & green sauce. The entree came with the requisite rice & refried beans. (I always ask for charro beans but I forgot. Not sure if they offer them. Didn't see them on the menu). So: the Chix was fine but the mole sauce was abundant & is pretty darn rich. It was good. The sauce was good. The Chix was good. It was sprinkled with cojitilla cheese. The beef enchilada was ok. The green sauce was delicious but the beef could have been more lean. I wouldn't order it again. Perhaps the Carne Asada street tacos are the way to go here?! I am not sure?! I saw other people ordered Burritos which always perplexes me. It's great if you are a Runner b4 a Marathon but for most ppl: Carbohydrate overload?! I am thinking, that going forward, I will stay with a few menu items: soft tacos, chile rellenos, or cheese & spinach enchiladas . I luv Cerviche but only a good restaurant can prepare that well, in my experience. I will try some other Mexican places around town. This place was okay/good but I just wasn't bedazzled by anything. Their BAKERY looks fabulous! I will def come back to try some items from there. I hope this helps : )

    I am never picky and I pretty much like every place. I had the steak enchilada with red sauce. The sauce had a dirty dish water flavor. The servers were nice but the food was gross. I LOVE authentic Mexican food! SO dissapointed .

    Super cute restaurant. Clean friendly staff. The food was delusions, far from the normal Mexican fare. I liked the bakery display, and the grocery store was adorable. We can't wait to go back for the food and the experience.

    Came here for dinner last night with my husband, our daughter and my brother and his wife. We were a little ambivalent because the reviews have gone from great to bad on Yelp really quick. And now we know why. The salsa is quite spicy and it's not the "American" salsa. It's kind of yellowish in color and very liquid with no chunks and nothing "fresh" tasting in it and it was served with hours old flour tortilla chips that were not salted so they had NO flavor. We asked for a non-spicy salsa and some pico de gallo. The non-spicy salsa was a yummy warm flavorful Mexican red sauce. And I used the pico to mix in with the salsa they originally brought, added some S&P and some lime and presto great salsa. OK the entrees- Hubby had the taco salad with chicken- the shell was fresh and crisp as were the veggies, the chicken NOT SO MUCH...it had the texture of chicken that was cooked hours ago and then reheated. (We came to realize this would be they way most of the food would be) I had the chilaquiles, the red sauce that was brought out to us in place of the spicy salsa was used in my dish so that was great but again my chicken was off. It had the shape and texture of canned chicken. There was lots of sauce and chips and yummy cheese but it was hard to get past the weird chicken. I also ordered a chile relleno, big mistake. The chile was obviously fried earlier and then reheated in microwave and covered with a not warm sauce, therefore the cheese inside was rubbery and it was not edible. Our daughter had 2 chicken tacos and one beef, thank goodness her food was good. My brother had the mixed fajita plate with corn tortillas. Again with the reheated food, his meats and shrimp were dried out and the veg was hardly cooked. My SIL had a burrito that she said was good but didn't have a lot of flavor. Those of us that had rice and beans with our meal all sent them back because they were ice cold and then when they brought back more they were dried out. What a hot mess this place turned out to be. So sad....Needless to say we won't be back!!!!

    First visit at Guerrero's. As noted in other reviews, the service is a bit scattered (but friendly). However, the delicious food and outstanding value will definitely bring us back again for more! Tip: Try the chicken enchiladas with the mole sauce. AMAZING!

    OK. I am officially addicted to this place. The chimichanga is AMAZING, Mexican Burrito is to die for, and the pastries...just get a bag to take home or to work. Prices are equally awesome. The tacos are perfect and $1.50 each. I've been about 6 times in the past month and make an effort not to eat here every night. Love it. This place is authentic as you'll see from the clientele. Food is on the spicy side! Try the pastry that looks like a muffin with cheese in the middle! YUMMO! WARNING - Mexican Steak is SUPER spicy.

    Fantastic authentic Mexican food with savory ingredients. Absolutely delicious! The shredded chicken is wonderful. Authentic tacos, nice hot sauce etc. We ordered several things including the sopa de habas (fava bean soup). Very nice. If you like the real thing eat here, If you want bland, Americanized Mexican food go elsewhere. It longer than average Mexican restaurants for the food which I appreciated because I know they took care while preparing it. Worth the wait. Absolutely wonderful.

    I LOVE this place! I stumbled upon this place since it was a block away from the house and couldn't be happier. I have a mostly vegetarian diet and this restaurant is always wonderfully accommodating of that which can be unusual for a Mexican restaurant. If you are vegan order the over a pound burrito and ask for no cheese or sour cream. Their quesadillas on the homemade corn tortillas are terrific and if you look at the chalkboard there are two great vegetarian options of either rajas, spicy peppers, or championes, mushrooms. Since the restaurant makes pizza they always have a ton of fresh veggies on hand. In addition to being veggie friendly this aces staples are terrific. The salsa is fresh with lots of cilantro and the mole is authentic. Save room for desserts, which is close to impossible with the ginormous portions. The pasties are made fresh on premises and replaced constantly because there is a constant stream of people loading up bags to bring home. Enjoy this place but don't tell too many people about this little gem.

    Great food at a great price how can you go wrong! The service would be the correct answer. They are lacking in the english department to say the least. I placed and order (normally I go in person and point and such this way there is no problems) but I was in a rush so I did it all over the phone. Two of the items were on point and very tasty but the burrito was a failure to communicate. I wanted a pork burrito but when I dug into it I notice there was a little extra chew to the meat which I chalked up to a small piece of tendon, but with every btie I noticed that it wasn't going away at all. Upon closer inspection I look to find out that I had gotten pigs ear chopped into small pieces. Touche Hombre! You win.. Im not eating that, its not my cup of tea... Lesson learned, don't say your order just point it out. The food is really good and would normally get rated 4 stars based on quality and value.

    The best Mexican in Sarasota that we know of. You're served chips and salsa before they even take your drink order. The food is fresh and incredibly tasty! Very casual atmosphere. If you're in the mood for Mexican this is a great place. Service is great too.

    Fantastic, authentic Mexican food that is virtually impossible to find in Sarasota. No snow-birds or tourists here. Expansive menu, good portion sizes and low prices. A great value. And don't leave without trying some of their baked goods.

    As I get older I've been gravitating toward stronger tastes, spicier spices and more flavorful seasonings. When the doctor I work for told me that this was his favorite Mexican restaurant in Sarasota, I took him VERY seriously being that he grew up in Mexico. There are so many Americanized 'Mexican' restaurants in this area that are more about tex-mex than authentic food, and though I have been a big fan of Mi Pueblo up until this point, I definitely have a new top pick. Guerrero's has a totally no frills atmosphere. It does not have the awesome decor or waitstaff in costumes that Mi Pueblo or Two Senoritas has, but the food is awesome, and I'll take that over looks any day. We sat right away and the waitress brought over warm, fresh, super crunchy chips and a bowl of very spicy salsa. Yum. These are already so different than most Mexican restaurants around that we knew right away we were in for some great food. We decided to share shrimp fajitas and steak fajitas which came with rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes with fresh cilantro (YUM). The menu said that it came with guacamole too, but the green sauce we were served was quite avocado-less. The waitress explained that it was what they call guacamole when we asked about it, but there was a language barrier that prevented us from finding out what it really was. There was also no cheese served with these fajitas- but It really didn't need it. The peppers and onions were caramelized slightly and served with the shrimp and steak in a sizzling pan. They were all quite good- but the standout were the REAL tortillas. What a difference to have those over the store bought ones. They were so full of flavor and texture- even though they did keep falling apart wrapped around our fillings. I guess we probably overstuffed them but we really couldn't resist. The only criticism I had was that the rice and beans were room temperature (and that's being generous) , not hot. I'm sure we could have sent them back, but we had enough other food that we really didn't care that much. Even though we were quite full at this point, we couldn't help browsing the bakery filled with homemade Mexican breads and pastries. We each chose one to bring home and polished them off by the next morning. There is no question that we will be returning soon. We live close by and the prices are extremely reasonable- less than $10 for an entree? Wow. Awesome find. Thanks for the suggestion Dr. G!

    My wife and I have been here a couple of times, and stop in quite a bit for the baked goods. The staff is fantastic; the food is cheap; helpings are huge and everything is authentic. We really love this place and like that it's a local business we're supporting.

    Tried this place for Cinco de Mayo and would not return. While their bakery items looked great, we were disappointed to find they only serve beer and wine and most of us were hoping for margaritas. Both their mild salsa and gaucamole were very spicy and when we ordered queso they brought out barely warm cheese whiz. Add to that exceedingly slow service and that my entrée didn't arrive until everyone else at the table was finished eating and it was a very negative experience. I ordered the steak quesadilla and found it to be greasy and surprisingly bland.

    Service was slow, communication was difficult, atmosphere was nothing special, food was not that great, & music was loud & annoying. Server set down SPICY salsa in front our 6-yr-old (who burned her tongue) & no water; no apology. Took forever to get drinks when we arrived & to-go bag before we left. Not impressed; won't return.
