What a find! Charming staff and excellent food! I'm not sure if I'm remembering the name correctly, but I think I ordered Fusilli alla Eddie. It had arugula and shrimp and tomatoes, and it was delicious! My husband ordered a chicken dish that had some grilled vegetables, and he loved it. Dessert: profiteroles. (YUM!) They gave us some complimentary bruschetta before our meal (amAZing) and limoncello afterwards (mmmm). We will definitely be going back.

This place has amazing food. You can't really go wrong with anything you order. Italian dining at it's finest. Most definitely the best authentic Italian eatery in Sarasota, Fl. If you're a local, or just visiting, you owe it to yourself to check out this spot. Great food, service, and atmosphere.

Food wasn't really impressive. The owner was really nice, so I feel bad giving it a "bad review". I had an Amazon coupon so that's the only reason we came. We wouldn't have eaten there just by walking by. The waitress was nice. The guy that brought us our food was slightly creepy. Almost thought he was hitting on me when we said we were on our anniversary dinner. They brought us bruschetta for free... Not sure why. But the food was bland. The broccoli was overcooked. Portion was very small. I left and was still hungry. Maybe I got the wrong thing on the menu?

Waited literally a hour for our food! Waitress and owner were nice and apologetic. But the wait was so long that not even the food made up for it. It was tasteless and not what I consider homemade, fresh and authentic Itailan food.

Love coming here! Just walked in on a Friday night and "Lady Jazz" was singing her Ella Fitzgerald type music. Such a nice accompaniment to dinner out!!! Aside from always ordering the grilled octopus, tonite I had the Shrimp with Gorgonzola Sauce. So, so good. It's a must! Ask for Marco the waiter!!!!

We WILL be back! Although the service was spotty at times, the server 's cheerful attitude made up for that and the ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars. Kristen WAS the only server in the room @ lunch and we were a table of 5. Two of our party ordered from the Savor Sarasota menu and the balance from the regular lunch menu. None of us had any major problems with the entrees except that I ordered the penne dish with a red tomato sauce and it came with a white wine sauce which was cheerfully remedied in short order. The two veal dishes (one parmesan and one with lemon) were rated excellent. The spaghetti pescatore was very good except for slightly overdone calamari. I had the penne with mushrooms and home made sausage. The tomato sauce was nicely spiced, the sausage had a slight bit of heat and the penne just over al dente, which I prefer. Some house made bread with olives and a dipping sauce was hot and tasty. A bonus bruscetta made its way to the table in between courses. Nice touch. The two who had three courses choose one regular tiramisu and one profiterole. The tiramisu was the lightest I'd EVER had and the clear winner until Giuseppe graced us with a HUGE glass of dark chocolate mousse. Each one of us forced at least two spoonfuls in a already overfull stomachs. All took much of the lunches and two takeout dinners home. Put this downtown gem on your dining out list now!

By far the BEST Italian restaurant in Sarasota and the entire state of Florida! My wife and I sort of stumbled in here on this pre-Mother's Day Saturday night and man we wish we had not waited so long to try it. The food is beyond incredible!!! It's an awesome find and we will come back very often and would recommend this place to anyone living or visiting the area. We moved here from Dallas and I am originally from Chicago and I have had some great Italian food and this one tops them all. Pasta is made there fresh daily and so are the sauces and desserts. We had a nice chicken with asparagus and pasta with a very tasty white sauce but we could not stop our mouth from watering and anticipating dessert: fresh made tiramisu but this was a strawberry tiramisu.. It was the best, freshest and lightest tiramisu ever. Giuseppe's stopped by our table and introduced himself. He is very friendly and mentioned his new chef is from Naples and he has been there a few months. Well the food was by far the best we have had within 500 miles and we will now be regulars. Don't waste your time and money on other places... Please stop in and give it a try like we did. You won't be disappointed. We even ordered a tiramisu to come home with us and also got a nice sample of the red sauce for later. Great service, fun live music and cozy, clean atmoshphere and the food is not to be missed.

I must be in the minority. I found the majority of the food we got to be less than stellar! The mussels fra diavalo had no spice, the lentil soup needed salt and some flavor. The pescatore pasta was good. Seafood cooked well, but not a place I'd hurry back to!

Words cannot describe how amazing Giuseppe's is! I was skeptical reading reviews of the best Italian in sarasota, but I have to say I'm a believer!!! And finding Italian food anywhere near as good as we are fortunate enough to have in providence, RI is extremely difficult, but this restaurant absolutely exceeded my expectations! To make our dinner experience even better, our server was OUTSTANDING! She was so sweet, funny and personable I swear we'd be best friends if I lived here. Put that with the strawberry shortcake dessert and meeting the owner and I'd easily make this my number one go to spot in the state of Florida. For reference we had the bolaganese, the spaghetti alla chacce, and fusilli with broccoli and sausage in Olive oil. Each dish was made to perfection with fresh made pasta and fresh ingredients. Thanks so much for our meal!!!

Truly my favorite local Italian hangout! I love the cappuccino and Tiramisu, mais bien sur!! Every time I've been there I have felt like I've received the most gracious service. If you're not on a no carb diet - EAT HERE!

OK, I'll admit that I seek out the small Italian restaurants that are usually located in a strip mall, or in this case a small downtown store front. I have found that these places almost always have the best food, and Giuseppes's is one more proof of that. This place can be easily missed, so make sure you enter the address in the GPS to find it. Once there, you will be greeted by a friendly wait staff. I ordered the veal Marsala, which was as good if not better than any that I have had anywhere. They have a little different take on the Marsala sauce, which is very tasty. My wife order the Salmon which was smothered in a tomato based sauce and served over spagetti noodles. A note here, my wife is not really a pasta person, so to see here eat all the spagetti, was a first. The sauce was that good, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. Don't miss this place if you are vacationing in that area, as we were. It is worth the drive in from Siesta Key for this great food.

This was our first time there and it not be our last. The service was excellent and the food was better then excellent. We spoke with the owner abscess told the chef was from Naples Italy and you could tell by the way he cooked. We both had an appetizer the grilled octopus and fried calamari both done very well for main course Veal Milanese and Chicken Parm also done to perfection. Owner Giusseppe sent over a piece of home made Ricotta cake that was the best I ever had.. All this and a bottle of wine and the bill was less then $100 I will definitely return....

My husband and had dinner here tonight after it was recommended by a local hair dresser and by our college age daughter. The food and wine were were excellent. We shared the mussels for appetizer and they were fabulous and the sauce was delicious. Great bottle of chianti too. Sharon our server was great as was Giuseppe the owner. We had told them that our daughter had been there recently and after seeing her picture totally remembered her, Sharon actually remembered her name and what she ordered. We will be back every time we are in town.

The food is exceptional, but if you are lucky enough to have Marianna as your waiter then you are in for a treat! She will make you feel as if you are dining in Italy. Six people in our group and everyone was very impressed with every aspect of our dining experience.

I have to say when I first walked in I was a bit skeptical both because of the multiple groupons I've seen advertised and their multiple special "deals" they offer when you first sit down. But boy was I wrong, everything was amazing. I rarely ever get dessert and I was glad I did this time. Everything was picture perfect!

Had dinner there this evening, and it was wonderful! Grilled octopus app to start - perfectly prepared. Then salad & soup of the day, both excellent. For entrees, I had the spaghetti pescatore (white wine sauce) - the seafood was perfectly prepared! - and my fiancé had the veal Marsala, and loved it. Our only qualm was in the timing of the entrees, which came out too quickly as we were still enjoying the soup/salad. But, other than that, the service was good - attentive and gracious. We highly recommend this gem on Main!

Giuseppi's stood out in the Yelp reviews. I walked in at 8 pm in the middle of a Pavarotti imitator's last few rounds, a full house, and a prix fixe meal (pardon my French). Giuseppi's tucked me in at the bar and fed me. Staff was very friendly. Caesar salad was good, not outstanding. Giuseppi recommended Spaghetti Pescatore, which was very nice, and approved of my choice of a glass of Grillo to go with it. The Pavarotti was droll background - whole place lovin' it. (Mickey D., take note!). April 22 he'll be back, for those of you not here tonight! This place is a find.

Excellent Italian restaurant. We ate there last night and I had the veal with lemon and my partner had the chicken with asparagus. Both were delicious. We also had the special salad which was greens with strawberries, walnuts and goat cheese....excellent!! Very nice atmosphere and there was a jazz singer performing...very subtle sound....sooo nice!! It would have been a perfect meal but was it was soooo hot in there. It was very uncomfortable.

Giuseppe has a new chef from Napoli and he is awesome. The grilled octopus was tender and had the right amount of char. My brother and I had 2 veal dishes which were terrific.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
