We found d'corato's through restaurant .com. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, and has a special occasion feel. The waiter, the owners son, is friendly and attentive, but doesn't hover. We were served fresh baked bread, and my husband and I shared the Caesar salad. The portion was nice, and the salad was fresh. I found the dressing a bit sweet, but my husband did not. For our entrees my husband had the veal saltimboca which was delicious, and I had the pasta di mare. The sauce on my pasta was garlicky as requested but slightly heavier than I prefer. The seafood was incredibly fresh and well cooked. I'm giving this restaurant five stars because the food is good and it's the kind of family run establishment that makes you feel like part of the family.

Terrible restaurant. The alleged wine list was waterlogged & dirty. Menu dirty. Ordered Caprese salad - "bufalo mozzarella" was NOT- it was the cheaper stuff. Porcini ravioli was listed as having a dried porcini sauce. NOT. Just a poor tomato sauce. This is probably the saddest excuse for a restaurant in Sarasota.

My friends and I were searching for a good authentic Italian restaurant to eat at and It was recommended we try this restaurant. Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Sarasota. The family that owns the restaurant are so incredibly polite. The ambiance was perfect! My friends and I sat outdoors and it reminded me of a restaurant I've been to in Rome, so relaxing, inviting, and truly the perfect place to sit, talk, and enjoy an incredible meal. I highly suggest everyone try this restaurant, I promise you will want to come back!

D'Corato features the finest Italian cooking in the Sarasota area. Although it's only yards away from Main Street it's a little hard to find but well worth the effort. The service is congenial and competent and the surroundings spotlessly clean and cheerful. I am a frequent customer and have never been served anything but the best.

We went to D'Corato Ristorante with a $25.00 certificate from Restaurant.com . It used to be Bellagios. We have been searching for an authentic Italian restaurant for awhile now and our search has ended. The décor is warm and inviting, as is the staff. The service is excellent! Our server was a very nice young man named Savino who is the owners son and was quick with a smile and service. I ordered the porcini ravioli with a porcini sauce. It was out of this world! The depth of flavors was astonishing. The dough was very thin with the perfect amount of filling. After I finished the ravioli, I mopped up the sauce with a piece of their delicious toasted bread. My husband ordered the Saltimboca. There was layer after layer of flavor. I have never tasted a better prosciutto. The vegetables tasted like they had just been picked from the garden. You could cut the veal with a fork, it was so tender. This is our new go to restaurant. You do not want to miss going to D'Corato Ristorante. Best authentic Italian food without going to Italy!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
