We went dinner a few weeks ago with a group of six. We ordered 2 meat dishes ,2 fish dishes and two vegetarian dishes. All dishes were excellent and perfectly done. They do not use any frozen stuff. Everything is cooked to order with fresh ingredients. Excellent food and service by the husband and wife team. Highly recommend!!!

Just finished a wonderful meal at this restaurant! Well worth the trip! We had a big party and the waitress and owners were so welcoming and accommodating. I live in NY and am use to good Italian and was pleasantly surprised to find such quality ingredients and food right here! Is definitely recommend this spot and will be back on my next visit!

Cute little place off the beaten path. Very friendly and attentive owners. I had my heart set on a sausage pasta dish that I didn't see on the menu and the owner happily whipped it up. Delicious cannoli. I could've eaten about 20 of those little guys. Yum. Everything was fresh and enjoyable. Will definitely be back!

Docimo's is located in the Longwood Athletic Club and is a great addition to the facility! As a tennis player at the club, I have had many meals at Docimo's and they really make great Italian food. They make everything from scratch and it shows. From the handmade pizzas to dishes like Chicken Saltimbocca, the food is simple, well prepared and delicious. The salads are fresh and the portions are good. One of my favorite things is their homemade soups. They had a great Cream of Mushroom and a Stratchietella that was out of this world good! Frank and his family are genuine, kind and also have some really nice, reasonably priced wine! The restaurant is located just south of University Pkwy. on Longwood Run Blvd. only a couple of miles west of I-75. It is well worth the five minute drive from the chain restaurants that inundate that area for some good home cooked Italian food!

This is a small restaurant a bit out of the way but definitely worth finding. It is family run and the owners are very friendly. Everything is homemade, down to the gelato and limoncello. I had veal picatta that was tender and tasty. My wife had veal saltimbpcca which was also excellent. We live near-by and this will definitely become a regular for dinner

Had a "nothing special" breakfast. While it was cooked to perfection...even though we were the only customers, the meal was served in stages.....friendly server and pleasant staff...but no WOW factor.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
