A family restaurant will usually not stay in business for almost 40 years without having excellent food and service. This is why Crager's is still around since they live up to these standards. Their servers and cooks are fantastic and they make sure to bring your orders EXACTLY the way you like them!! They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with daily specials to enjoy and conveniently close to the airport. Be sure to call ahead and order their pan fried chicken, it is WAY TOO GOOD not to have it at least once! Also, to make a correction on Tod W.'s review, the $3.98 stated for coffee is for 2 orders and not 1, they charge $1.99 for coffee. In Sarasota, Crager's means comfort food!

If you are a diner fan, don't passed this place too many times before stopping in. The staff are friendly, always a smile, the food is better than most and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The prices are more than reasonable and you will leave with a full belly. They have homemade jams, hand squeezed juice and a signature pancake recipe that's never disappointing. Everything a family diner should be... And they offer pick-up ordering. So great for those fly-by mornings to work. I call as I'm getting in my car, by the time I'm passing them, my food is hot and ready. I'm back in the car in 3 minutes.

Great breakfast will make it back for dinner. Nice people. The pancakes seem to be missing something.

Food was great, server was awesome but the manager was racist. My hispanic family was asked to leave immediately after we finished eating so that other white folks could sit down. They passive aggressively suggested that our staying would cause them to loose business because we were were taking up precious seats. Great food but a terrible experience.

Your typical dinner. The food was not worth the money. The coffee is outragously priced at 3.98 for a bottomless cup. The coffee was run of the mill it was week. If i wanted to to pay that for a cup of coffee i would go to starbucks. Overall iI would not recommend you waste you time even atopping here to eat

I was surprisingly really impressed with this diner. My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised with this place. Large menu with lots of typical diner choices. It wasn't exactly the cleanest, but it was fine. This place filled the diner void. I will definitely be back!

This is one of those times I wish Yelp had a half star. My wife and I stopped in on a whim and weren't dissapointed. Cragers has been open for 38 years and it is still going strong. The prices are more than fair and the portions were generous. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating, they have a plethora of menu items and great specials. Stop in and try it for yourself, you shouldn't be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this cute family run diner on our way to the airport. Just needed a quick bite before our flight and got just that! Staff was very friendly and welcoming:)

Lots of options, fast service, and good food. Great place to stop for a quick meal. Try the waffles!

This place reminded me of a Denny's. People love it because the food is cheap. You get what you pay for. The food was bland. Your typical greasy spoon. Then again, I am more of a foodie, so...

I have been going here for years and for a quick meal, you cannot beat this diner style place. The food selection is vast and the service is always very friendly. I have not had anything on the menu I would not order again. They are open for all 3 meals and are usually fairly busy, but turn tables quickly. We usually have a burger and fries for lunch and are not disappointed. Make sure to check this family diner out if in the area.

Came in for breakfast on Memorial Day. There was a short wait, but not bad. The food was exactly as ordered: creamy grits, perfectly cooked eggs, crisp bacon, and a delicious bone in ham steak. I didn't give it five stars because the decor is dated, but for a good, straightforward breakfast with excellent service at a fair price, it's the place to go.

Hello? Does Bradenton have health inspectors? Don't take my word for it- just look UP when you're there. The dirtiest, filthiest air vents in Florida are above your head, raining down dust, dirt, and filth upon the food, and the top of your head. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the Jimmy Carter era, and the men's room makes the vents look like an operating room by comparison. I'm amazed that no one has noticed this. Booths, tables equally disgusting, old, and uncomfortable, no doubt caused by all the three-hundred pound lardasses who frequent this place.. By the way, how do you screw up pancakes? Dull, flavorless blobs of four & water. Yeech! Didn't think it was possible, but they managed. Look alive, Bradenton health inspectors: Just pay this skeevy dump a visit and you can hit your monthly quota of citations/closures in a matter of hours...... Good for late night? Yes, but only when it's CLOSED!

Decided to come here instead of the restaurant in my hotel next door and I'm glad I made the choice. Both the food and the service are not what you'd expect from a small roadside diner. This is a rare find - sort of "old fashioned", which also describes the clientele. They have a few local favorites, but I had the taco salad, which was great. Will definitely be back.

We used to live in East Bradenton and this place was always a favorite. Now we have moved closer and it is even more so. Any excuse to go to Crager's is a good one. Favorite items are the Country Fried Chicken, definitely the best anywhere in the area, the fist and chips--better than Anna Maria Oyster Bar which is just up the street, the Angus Pot Roast, the Prime Rib Sandwich. Frankly I have never had anything at this diner that I didn't enjoy. The service is always very friendly, they treat you right.

Walked in during the middle of the afternoon. The food was great homemade food. Real mashed potatoes (lumps and all), green beans with some flavor of ham. The chicken breast cooked perfectly without drying it out. To top it off I added a lemon pie. Very reasonably priced. Very clean, friendly. Nice relaxing visit. I will be back.

Perhaps I like this place so much because it is right down the street from our place, but every time we have had breakfast there; it is great. All of the servers are very nice. There may be a wait if you go on a busy Sunday morning, but its worth it. Be sure to try the fresh squeezed OJ or Grapefruit juice, the Amish bacon and the scrambler. Good food at great prices; much better than IHOP or Perkins if you are looking for a great breakfast.

This is one of my favorite "go to" restaurants. Good quality food at very reasonable prices. I personally love the waffles with strawberries and a teeny bit of whipped cream. The bacon is terrific and the home fries are the best. I don't know why people have complaints about the restaurant. It's not the Ritz but it is a great place for extremely good solid food.

I have been going here since I was a kid. It's right around the corner from me and I can get whatever I'm in the mood for. The breakfast is off the chain especially that Amish bacon and biscuits and gravy. The lunch and dinner is great too I feel like I'm in a friends kitchen and all the lady's who work there are super nice and you just feel at home. We used to go every Sunday before we went out on the boat and it was the perfect way to start the day. Now I go at whatever time I can squeeze it in my busy schedule.

Stopped in for breakfast on a whim during our weekend visit to the area. This place is a typical kind of diner establishment, but with a little extra care. Friendly employees and very good food make this a sure bet if you happen to find yourself on this god-awful-ommercial-America-gone-amuck stretch of road. We had a smoked sausage and eggs breakfast along with the standard bacon, sausage and eggs plate. We asked for the has browns to be crispy and they were just about perfect. If our visit is any indication, you will definitely want to seek this place out f or a good diner-style meal.

We are looking for a good locally owned diner for breakfast so decided to go to Crager's. We went around 9:30 a.m. and waited for about 10 minutes. Breakfast was quick, hot and reasonably priced. I had 4 (half) pieces of french toast, 2 eggs, 2 bacons, and 2 pieces of sausage. The french toast was great as well as everything else.... very tasty. My husband had a skillet of eggs, ground beef, hash browns and cheese with a side of corned beef hash. The corn beef hash was clearly canned but it was browned nicely and he said it was good. Will definitely go back for breakfast until the winter visitors come down and then you probably won't be able to get into the place without waiting for some time.

I love crager's, I've never had a bad experience here. The service is always fast even if they are super busy. It's really quaint and has a great family feeling. The food isn't amazing but it isn't bad. I just love going there because it's very comfortable and chill. I love the fact that the glasses they use are mason jars. It is adorable.

Mmmmm..... You are first greeted by a tray of fresh squeezed juice at reasonable prices! Shocked, you take a glass of OJ, and secretly roll your eyes at the fact that it's only back home in Chicago that they rip you off for a glass of juice. Shortly after, a sweet lady comes by, and brings you water in a mason jar. You HEART drinking out of mason jars. Then, out comes your meal, deliciously bacony with 2 lovely, runny eggs. After gobbling it up, you realize, you are the youngest one here by 50-60 years. Oh well, you leave and walk out in to the nice warm sun, yay Florida!

Classic American diner food. Veggie tip: the "bacon and mushroom omelet" can be made without the bacon and is quite good, lots of swiss, mushrooms, and onions. Great place to go with a hang over. Great service. Extremely, ridiculously cheap. Very unimpressed with the biscuits, but it's ok.

Good prices, the breakfast was well made, service friendly. In my own tack, if they were local to me, I'd probably be going back a few times to check consistency. Nothing fancy about Crager's. A good meal (at least as far as breakfast is concerned,) at a decent price. Three stars since I only had one opportunity to eat here while in town for a few days.

Service is exceptional, however the fried chicken tasted like the fry oil was a week old (and not in a good way). Maybe its great for breakfast as the other reviewers stated. My wife liked the meatloaf though.

Have been here several times and always sat at the counter.. During the last three visits was overcharged on my check. This time I brought a hand held calculator and added up the menu prices before I ordered. I was stilll overcharged, but this time it was the sales tax. They are charging everyone 7% sales tax when sales tax is 6.5%. Food is good diner food with fast service, but watch out for bill padding and any extras.
