These sandwiches are the absolute greatest you will ever have! Try the surfer. It is exceptional!

Girl at register nice otherwise would be 1 star. Oh u want pickles on sandwich? We have pickles but only on the side - we wouldn't dream of slicing it and putting on a sandwich ....Russian dressing ? Don't have that either. Oh avocado? Nope ... Ugh ok so let's do hot peppers ...nope don't have those either. Ok fine I will have egg salad on pumpernickel toast. - ohhh u don't have a toaster. ....ok - I will take whatever just take my American Express card and charge me. Oh u don't take Amex. Will not be back

First trip to Siesta key. Stopped here for lunch because it was walking distance from our accommodations - house of sun. Overall, food was good. However, employees didn't seem to appreciate our business. Kids ended up splitting a turkey sandwich. My wife had a salad. I had pastrami. The food was fresh and made quickly. Since it was our first visit with small kids it took us a few extra minutes to finish our order. I wouldn't say the staff was nice with helping with the process. No other customers were behind us when we started. There were two customers when we finished. My wife has a pretty strict diet because of health reasons. She started with Italian dressing with her order but found out the ingredients had corn syrup. After she inspected it they gave her a ranch packet which was good. However, after she started eating when she asked for one more packet of ranch because the first wasn't enough for the salad the gentleman that took our order rolled his eyes and said she'd have to ask the other lady who was making the sandwiches. The lady making the sandwiches also seemed burdened and said they normally charge for extra dressing but ended up giving her the extra packet. Yes, customers do read body language and interpret responses. Seriously! This amount of hesitation and attitude for a .25 or .50 packet of ranch. We spent $26 on lunch for two sandwiches, one salad, 2 bags of chips, one bottle Sierra mist, and two aquafinas. I would have been have been better with them asking me for the .50 or extra dollar than making my wife feel like a piece of crap on vacation. We've been dealing with some pretty serious health issues for several years and we don't take vacations often. While I don't expect employees to read minds or situations a little common courtesy and respect isn't hard to come by at the majority of places we eat. We left the unopened packet of Italian so they didn't feel like we were taking advantage. While the food was good the attitude isn't worth going back. Boars head, lettuce, tomato, and bread cost us about $15 at crescent beach grocery. We won't be going back to an Annas. Not for the food or price but for the attitude.

The chicken salad sandwich is very hard to beat. I have come here for over 25 years, and it remains the same. When we fly back to St. Louis, I usually have them pack two sandwiches for us to eat on the plane on the way. I've never tried anything else. I'm only down here week or two per year and don't want to miss my chicken salad sandwich!

I've grown up on Anna's Deli for the past 30+ years and I still crave it! Anna's is simple, fresh and very tasty! It's perfect! My favorite is The Surfer! I've had everything on the menu and haven't had one bad experience in all these years.

On my quest to visit every eating establishment on Siesta Key, I was lured to this unassuming cafe with its promise that it was its sandwiches which made the key famous. They didn't disappoint. I had half of their star sandwich - the Surfer - which combined very delicately sliced turkey and ham, with cuke (that's cucumber to you and me), and Anna's sauce, on marbled rye bread. Deliciosa. Very good potato salad too - and coming from a Scot that's high praise indeed.

Great food. Bad attitudes all around. I wanted to buy some bread to bring home and they will not sell it. I agree with the review about tips. I am not about to tip someone who is getting paid unless they go out of their way.....which never happens.

We waited for them to open to get sandwiches as this place had decent reviews on Yelp and was across the street from our hotel. The service here was awful...We walked away feeling discriminated by the color of our skin. Mind you, we speak perfect english, probably better than they do, but we felt unwelcomed and they spoke to us as if we were an annoyance rather than paying patrons. For a place that's surrounded by hotels and vacation home, one would expect better service. If the owner read this, it was the older woman at the cash register and the younger girl that wears a pink bandanna making the sandwiches....smh, they've probably never evens even seen skyscrapers... Btw, there's this tip jar that says Tipping isn't a city in China..or something like that. It must be written by someone who's never ventured out of the state of Florida. I appreciate a good dig, but 1) it wasn't even funny 2) why would I tip at a dingy sandwich shop. I wouldnt tip at Subway! 3) if you're asking for tip, at least try to work for it. My friends gone back a second time (it was convenient) and the guy was really nice and offering tourist advice. Anna's redeemed themselves a bit...for about 10 minutes until we realized we were missing salad dressing..forks...etc, which was a bit toooooo incidental. Enough about the service....the sandwiches are surprisingly good. They put in a hefty about of deli meat but i wish there were more toppings offered.

Awesome pastrami!! Get the cucumbers even if you don't like them, they are more like pickles. Anna "secret" sauce is just mayo and mustard mixed

I remember my first sandwich at Anna's when I was around 5 years old, and have been a customer since. 20 years later, the sandwiches are STILL as good as always. Every time I'm in the area, I definitely stop by for a "surfer" sandwich. Don't judge a book by its cover, Anna's is by far the best sandwich spot on Siesta.

I used to come here years ago and was slightly disappointed in coming back. Their "secret" sauce which is really just mustard and mayo has very little taste. The cheese tasted like kraft singles, which I personally don't enjoy. The guy at the register asked me about 3 times if I wanted any veggies, I replied no all 3 times, yet still ended up with tomato on my sandwich. However, my husbands sandwich came out as ordered and he seemed to enjoy it.

Surfer is the best sandwich they have. Don't know what everyone is talking about regarding cash only, they accept credit cards (they didn't in years past but do now).

Visited Florida again, so of course we stopped at Anna's. Tried the surfer this time. Yep, this place has the best sandwiches on planet earth.

Really good sandwiches. They're hours say 10:30 to 4:00pm. I tried coming in 2 times around 3pm and they were already closed. The staff is really not happy with their job and they make you feel unwanted. Very big potential but weak staff and management. I will make an effort to go to their other location from now on.

Only a mile away from the office and our Go-To lunch place for a quick, tasty, and filling sandwich. I personally recommend the Skater (Choice of 2 meats) sandwich with Cornbeef & Pastrami on Rye w/Anna's sauce. Anna's potato salad is delicious too. Only wished this location served soup too, but still 5-stars nonetheless.

Sandwiches awesome!! Giving 4 stars because they don't accept credit cards. Perfect for grabbing a Sammy on the go. No doubt some of the best around.

I used to go to this location all the time before I started working in the Lakewood Ranch area. The surfer is consistently delicious at both locations, which is to be expected because it's their staple. The interior could definitely use some updating, and if you go on a weekend, especially during season, there's a line out the door. I also wish they were open later! I find myself craving a surfer after 4 pm way too frequently.

Overpriced deli sandwiches. Nothing is warm or toasted. The portions are good, but there's really nothing special about this place. Seriously, nothing special.
