My wife and I tried the corned beef and cabbage. Delicious! Their bread is still super tasty. We also had the beef barley soup and it was also delicious. I realized while re-reading my previous review that I failed to mention anything about the food. Lol There was no wait this time, and the wifi was working, and in fact was faster than my home internet. It was like 25Mbps plus. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Great NY style deli food at the Fountains Shopping Mall in Plantation, Florida. The breakfast menu is killer! If you are looking for authentic Matzo Ball Soup this is the place for you! All the deli sandwiches are huge and delicious and you can do half sandwich - cup of soup combos. They have all your basic sandwiches: beef brisket, roast beef, tongue, liverwurst, hot pastrami, hot corned beef etc! All good stuff!

I must begin by saying I was extremely excited just by the desserts when we walked in! The order was to go. 1 order for the Reuben sandwich on rye. It came with a pickle and very small container of coleslaw. It was 9.99. This price you expect one of 2 things here in this area. Fries or the sandwich is loaded with meat! Neither occurred! While it maybe consider a Kosher meat which do cost more and I believe they said they make their products. The sandwich was a disappointment in taste. I personally don't care for the flavor, but my true New Yorker sure does! I've been to NYC great delis' and for $12.99 you get a sandwich with I kid you not a pound of meat on it, delicious pickles unlimited and coleslaw. Needless to say the Reuben won't be purchased again. Second meal was a dinner; homemade meatloaf with a mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, choice of salad and a roll. I ate this meal. I chose a Caesar salad, the dressing was nicely wrapped up and I put it on at home. The croutons were fresh and homemade. They were so big I literally could barely close my mouth to chew just 1. Lol! Now I realized when I took everything out of the bag my bread was not packed. The meal was 12.99 or 13.99. The mashed potatoes were fresh and the vegetables were broccoli steamed perfect. Now the meatloaf was another story. I really like this and this was just yuck! No flavor and the gravy was a runny liquid with what looked like dried mushrooms added. So I was hungry n had to eat. I was going to put ketchup on it but didn't. No onions, just bland meat. It was a generous portion, but why was this yuck? I was stuffed, thank goodness for the salad. I got chocolate for dessert which with tax was $5.10. I ate it the next day and it was the BEST!! Moist chocolate cake, layered with chocolate mousse. The icing was a chocolate rich ganache like with chocolate chips covering the sides liberally! Heaven!! The carrot cake I was told delicious and had nuts and raisins in it with a cream cheese frosting. This food totaled about $32.00. Some of it a major hit and some oh well. I overall rated this 3 stars as we have ordered from this store many times and the orders were not always 100% complete or as expected. I will get dessert from TooJay's, anything else from here on out I doubt it.

Consistently good food but so slow during lunch. Been here 45 min and still no food. This was not the first time that I experienced the wait. Having said that, the pastrami was really good. My advice for lunch is to get here before noon, your wait will be significantly shorter.

We were initially planning on going to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch, but decided to try something new and came here instead. It took awhile for the hostess to figure out which tables were ready for new customers, and when we did finally get seated, there was no sign of a waitress. We had to flag down another staff member and let them know that we were ready to order. The waitress we did end up getting was very nice and apologetic, so that helped. As for food, we got the turkey avocado on brioche and the turkey reuben on rye. Both were quite large and came with cole slaw and a pickle (and fries with the reuben). We both liked the turkey avocado better - the aioli and vegetables made it lighter. The reuben was good for a few bites, then it started to get heavy. We found it tasted better adding the extra Russian dressing they provide on the side. Overall, these were just your standard sandwiches - nothing extraordinary, but also nothing horrible.

Maybe I need to give this place a chance to redeem themselves, but I'm currently not impressed. (Insert Kayla Maroney gymnast face here). I ordered delivery from TooJay's after hearing that it was sort of this Plantation/Lauderdale institution. Maybe getting delivery to try a place out was mistake numero uno. I ordered a "gourmet grilled cheese" and a Cobb salad for delivery late one night when I didn't feel like grocery shopping or going out to pick up food and the delivery options were slim pickins. The delivery guy shows up with my stuff and lo and behold, they charged me for "gourmet", yet I get regular, COLD grilled cheese. I paid for avocado and bacon with tomato-there was none to be found, and it was greasy and cold. APPETIZING. The fries it came with were soggy and tasted like they had been made last weekend. Gross. I immediately emailed the delivery service for a refund on the difference since I had been charged for the premium but given the basic. The salad ended up being not awful (but then again how hard is it to screw up a Cobb salad?). It was basic and not worth $10 though. I would be willing to give the brick and mortar location a fighting chance, given the fact that they would more than likely not forget 75% of the components of my sandwich and then charge me for them, and then serve it to me cold. The delivery service being slow is more than partly to blame, I realize that. So that's why I will likely give them more of a shot. I will say that I will probably try a cold cut-type hero instead of something gimmicky or a salad, because that was just boring and nothing to write home about. It takes a lot to wow me in a salad and a deli Cobb salad is not one of them. Your move, Toojay's.

My company had two catered lunches from TooJays. I thought their sandwich boxes were really solid, including a large fruit cup. I also really liked their strawberry salad with abundant blue cheese. The second day, we had the makings for sandwiches, and I thought their meats were fresh, and the veggie fillings were arranged nicely. Solid pickles. Seems like a great option for big groups.

When I first moved to the States and was a poor college student, one of my favorite things to do and splurge on was a day at Palm Beach with a turkey sandwich from TooJay's. The turkey was piled high and it was delicious. Since those days I've stopped by TooJay's in Plantation here and there over the years and never been disappointed. Although I have to laugh now when I see the sandwiches are less than $10...I must have really been broke in 2002 lol. This Sunday morning I was looking for a quick, low-key breakfast spot in Plantation and settled on TooJay's. Of course I didn't end up getting breakfast food as that all time favorite turkey sandwich was calling my name. Not to mention they've stepped their game up and now also feature an avocado turkey sandwich with arugula and lemon aioli! I opted for potato salad as a side and wasn't disappointed. The sandwich itself was beautiful with all the lettuce and tomato wrapped within the turkey itself. The bread was also light and fluffy. Because my eating partner is a real sweets lover we finished the meal off with a slice of carrot cake that was perfect! $27 for two sandwiches, coffee, slice of cake...not too bad. The food came out quickly and our server was a doll.

Looks like a nice standard deli but I would never go back. The waitress did not know what was on her own menu, which was very frustrating. She forgot two items on our order and ended up bringing them at the end of our meal, with the check. I was exciting for the Matzo Ball soup (as I always am) but it was horrible! The ball was really small and the soup had no chicken or noodles at all, just a lot of onions and very little matzo. Overall a very less than mediocre place given the gross food and bad service. Too many great delis in this world for TooJays to even be considered. They are NOT authentic.

Great spot! Would definitely go back. Portion sizes are decent. Ordered the Rachel , came out just as I expected. Oh and their carrot cake is just average, next time would probably try their NY style cheesecake.

TooJay's is a NY Jewish Deli - Diner type chain which I find to be consistently good for a chain while offering nice portions and a great value for lunch. They offer a variety of soups including daily Matzah Ball soup and French onion, on my last lunch visit they also offered a beef vegetable and tomato dill soups as the soups of the day. Their menu is large, mostly consisting of salads, sandwiches and comfort food, you have the staples like Reubens, Nova, beef brisket, Pastrami, Corn Beef, Rye, pickles and cabbage of course! The menu is pretty diverse, I had a turkey avocado sandwich served with a side of fruit which was delicious. Portions are large and the food quality is very good. They offer soup and sandwich and soup and salad specials, sandwiches are served with a side, you can opt from a selection of coleslaw or fruit if you want to be on the healthy side. The restaurant is pretty busy and the clientele tends to be older, service is usually efficient but they are rushing and running around so they tend to be short. During peak times there is a wait but the line moves fairly quickly so if you are planning on going say for lunch try to get there early by say 12:15pm. Another highlight of this restaurant are their desserts and pastries, they have a large display at the front with the many cakes they serve as well as fresh cookies and pastries, they are freshly made and very good.

I had high expectations for this place, at least for the chocolate cake I got but while it looked appetizing, it was one of the worst chocolate cakes I ever had. I was so surprised because I hadn't expected it from a place that was known for its deserts. Disappointed.

The waitress here was horrible. This was my first experience at this restaurant. The food is just okay. The Belgium waffles were hard and cold. The waitress is very short not sweet. Our food didn't come out together, the waitress forgot to put in one order. It was just a bad experience and I won't be coming back again. Oh and by the way the waitress was Mary.

Reviews are all over the place on this restaurant. I very much enjoy diners & cafe's with good ole american food such as sandwiches, soups, salads, breakfast items, etc...After a few of my trusted yelp friends had reviewed them so highly we went to check them out. From the moment we walked in thing's just started out very poorly. The restaurant was roughly half full so it was not as if they were a packed house. We requested a booth as usual for us but was told they were all dirty. Ok, so put us in a tiny uncomfortable table right next to the main walk way. The minute our server came over we should have just left because she was the one who sat us and just was so not friendly at all. We ordered several different dishes. I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. How hard is it to make a chicken sandwich? Well after quite a bit of time all of our food arrived. Server dropped and fled, yes oh no we do not need any condiments or any refills on our drinks. I can deal with service issues especially if they might be shorthanded with staff. What I can't deal with is under cooked chicken, yes it was pink. Every one of our dishes were really really bad. The quality of the food was as if the chef could care less what he was putting out. So, ok we could not wait to get out of there to grab a bite at home since we were all hungry. We finally got the waitress attention to get our check and it was very obvious we did not eat. You think she would have asked why? Or if anything was wrong? Nope, grabbed the full plates and walked away. So to end our disappointing experience, my daughter wrote an honest review and the owner writes her via compliment and say's he does not appreciate people giving him/her a negative review when it is a family owned business, he or she is a small guy that can't afford to franchise out, and a few other thing's about how she does not understand. Blah, blah....... Oh Sir or Ms. are you ever wrong, we do understand what it is like to own a small family restaurant. We had plenty of them in our home town. And yes it is not easy but when a customer has a bad experience at your restaurant maybe you need to focus on fixing the issues and apologizing to your guest who with our hard earned money paid for three meals that were not even edible. I am tired of excuses, just fix it and the guest will come happily. Yeah, I will not ever return.

NPS = 8 I am a fan. Somehow when I am in the area and I am here for work meetings, TooJay's tends to be a go-to staple. Delicious sandwiches, crisp salads, and a crock of French onion soup that will leave you smiling the rest of the day. I tend to stick to the French onion soup and lately I have been having their pastrami sandwich on rye (ask for it with swiss cheese!). Trying to recreate my experience at Schwartz's in Montreal, I also ask to keep the sides of coleslaw and a pickle. And of course, who can forget a can of black cherry cola to go with the sandwich! I have also had their salads and they are always crisp and tangy. Try the one with the Southwestern kick! The soup and the sandwich hit the spot, but if you still have room for desert they are fantastic as well. They are MASSIVE slices of cake, whichever you choose. If cake isn't your thing, I hear (and saw) they have these delicious black and white cookies you have to try. The service is phenomenal as well. You can't go wrong with this place.

Love the healthy options for a hearty breakfast here. Our server Michele has been here for years and she provided us with refills extra napkins before we could ask. I have to request a to go box for an egg white omelet!

Was here and we all ordered salad and wraps. Waited over 45 minutes for everything to come out. Slow service and waiter was a little uneducated about the menu. Hoping for better service next time.

Do not go with a group of 10 during lunchtime especially with young children. The effort at accommodating is slim to none. We had not been there in a while and now we remember why. After waiting an hour, we decided to leave and go to Sweet Tomatoes down the street. Best decision of the day and plenty of room to accommodate our group. *Also, as we were walking out, the hostess said loud enough so one of the members of our group could hear, "Glad they are leaving!" We were too!

Decent food, horrible weak coffee. Just order warm water it's the same. My mom asked for a toasted bagel scooped out and was told "they don't do that," but that's what she wanted. You might as well just say we don't care what you want. Why would we go back.

The food was good, but the service was... Well horrible. If it weren't for the good food 2 stars wouldn't even be given. My waitress (whom didn't introduce herself, or give a name) was quite rude. Didn't once ask how everything was, when asked a question she answered in a way that made you feel uneducated for not knowing a menu item. Then the part that topped me off was when she was at our table taking our order she proceeded to scratch her scalp... RIGHT there at the table. If I come back to this location it would DEFINITELY be a take out order.

Ask for Amy A. at this place. Great server with a personality. Her section tends to fill up quickly so you'll have to wait or sit in another section.

Toojay's!!! First time at Toojay's for lunch and pretty happy with this choice. I originally said I'd give them a 3 but their hospitality was so awesome that it pushed me over the ledge! Here's my lunch haul! Monterey Chicken sandwhich-$8.99 Recommended by Rita because I wanted something hot. This huge sandwich is loaded with fresh (like I mean really fresh) lettuce, tomato, arugula (delicious), and avocado. The chicken was OK. It was a little over cooked and very thin. I expected a nice juicy piece of chicken breast to compliment the fresh produce. All of this was put between 2 huge fresh baked slices of their house deli roles including a lemon garlic aioli spread. Served with fries, a pickle, and house cole slaw. I was really full and fell asleep during my meeting following lunch lol My co-worker ordered Triple J- $9.49 Looked awesome as per the pic. He said it was great and he also fell into a food comma, so I wasn't alone. Corned beef, roast beef, turkey all rolled with Swiss cheese and cole slaw. Everything here is made in house, adding the authentic Jewish Deli flavor to every dish! To top it all off, Rita gave us an order of free black n white cookies. How awesome is she!!! I will be returning to try some of their cold salads, which really caught my eye Enjoy!

I have always been interested in trying this place out. I always knew it was a hot spot for sandwiches soups, diner-esque food. So, we decided to cave and try it one Saturday afternoon. As we walked in, our noses were assaulted by the moldy carpets.....UGH. We wait in line to be seated. There were 2 people ahead of us. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to walk over and seat them...yes, I timed it. There were about 4 employees behind the counter chit-chatting, completely disregarding us. As we were finally met with someone to seat us, she asked us, "Table or booth?" We asked for a booth and she began to walk us, only to halt in her tracks in a very crowded walkway to say "oh no sorry, we don't have any, because they aren't clean." Um, Okay, clean one....? Nope she shoves us in a corner table right by all the foot traffic. Little did we know, she was also going to be our waitress. She came back, more like passed by, and asked for our drink orders. We got our drinks and were ready to order. I wanted to do 1/2 sandwich, soup combo. So I asked what sandwiches WERENT included. She said it was all of them with single meats. So I inquired further, what about the wraps? She says "Oh yes, those too, as long as it has one meat." So I said ok I will do a matzo ball soup and 1/2 of the buffalo chicken wrap. OH NO THAT ONE ISNT INCLUDED IM SORRY........ Wait, did I not just ask her what wasn't included? Obviously irritated I just ordered the wrap with a side of soup. Mom ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese. We waited about 25 minutes for the food....they weren't busy. In the meantime, my soup came...I don't know if it was an off day or what, but that was some of the WORST matzo ball soup I have ever had. I can make it better from a package. It was bland, the celery and carrots weren't cooked. The matzo ball was so tiny, it fit perfectly in my spoon. I tossed it off to the side. Finally, our food arrived. My wrap came with a side of fruit which looked good, and in the end it was the only thing that was edible. Also, the sweet tea was bad. It tasted just like regular tea. I took a bite of my wrap (which was wheat, they don't have flour). I couldn't do it, I couldn't eat it. While the buffalo flavor was good with the bleu cheese dressing, the only thing that was inside the wrap was breading. There was maybe 2 slivers of chicken in the whole wrap. It was so heavily breaded there was literally no meat! While I commend them for the crunchy breading, it was so awful. Moms sandwich was just as bad. It was a plain, very plain, very thin chicken breast, that was a tad too pink for my tastes. NO SEASONING, NO FLAVOR. The cheese was nice and melted but there was very little on it. No condiments were offered to her. The french fries were stale and soggy. The food was just bad. The service wasn't that great either. The entire time I could smell the mold filled carpet, that also desperately needed to be vacuumed. As we were leaving, I decided to grab a black and white cookie, because some reviews raved about them. I ordered 2 of the mini ones.....oh right, after waiting on the girl at the counter for 5 minutes. She had helped someone right before me. As I got up there she goes, "Ill be right back" to go to the back and talk with employees, making me wait for 5 minutes. The cookies were disgusting. They looked so yummy in the case, I was excited, but the actually cookie was gross. It tasted fake, like plastic. The frosting was decent, but the chocolate side was too melty compared to the crusted white chocolate. For what this place is, the prices are too high, the food is too bad, and the service is too crappy. Ugh, glad I got that out of my system.

I have eaten at many Too Jays locations & used them for business catering many times. True authentic, genuine "Jewish Soul Food"? Not really....but close enough for South Florida! I have had most of the deli meats at some point when I have deli platters ordered. Turkey & roast beef are not processed, but not too flavorful either. Corned beef & pastrami are tasty, if you are not watching your sodium. Too Jays does a fantastic job with their deli salads; tuna salad and shrimp salad are each phenomenal. I had cravings for these during my pregnancies and almost went berserk when this location was out of them for two days in a row! If you have ever seen a berserk pregnant woman you will know why the manager had the salads delivered to my house, along with some matzah ball soup as soon as he got them in! Dijon chicken and regular chicken salads are always fresh & tasty as well. At the restaurant, they will come with delicious soft rye bread or challah. Matzah ball soup is great. Today I tasted the cabbage soup. I just don't think cabbage soup is my thing. Husband splurged with French Onion Soup, which he liked. Did not like the potato pancakes....way too crunchy, too many potato shreds, & not much flavor. For a main I had Salmon Cakes. I usually like food on the salty side but these were so salty they were inedible! Horrible! Credit to the manager who brought me a replacement Tuna Platter in about a minute after I complained. Husband had Pot Roast. Tender, tasty, but also pretty salty (but not as bad as mine) What is it with the salt? They are going to raise the blood pressure of all the seniors eating here! Service was pleasant but slow, not too attentive (empty drinks), & that is usually par for the course, not just on Christmas Day. When catering with hot food I have had the pleasure of eating the Chicken Capri: tender chicken sautéed with mushrooms, après, artichokes , & a lemon butter sauce. It is delish & always a hit! Customers have enjoyed the Chicken Marsala as well. Can't review Too Jays without mentioning dessert. Their dessert platters have a lot of variety & I highly recommend them: ruggaluch, brownies & blondies (pretty good but I do not like nuts in my brownies), & of course black & whites. I am not a sweet eater but I love black & whites and Too Jays makes heavenly black & whites. If you have ever bought black & whites from Publix or Costco, get them here and you will never buy them any anywhere else. Pretty disappointed with our entrees today. In the past we had 4 star experiences. If this was my only experience here, they would get 2 stars. Past experiences, cold salads, & desserts raise them to a 3. It may be a while before we return.

They've got all the traditional Jewish NY food and it all tastes fabulous. Whitefish salad, lox, really great NY Jewish rye bread, wonderful sandwiches. Why not five stars? The world's slooooowest service. We didn't order anything that needed cooking-- salads and sandwiches-- and the wait was horrendous. Try to get your check? You'll qualify for Medicare before you get it. This bad service is their oldest tradition.

Such great value and pretty much everything on this menu is made to your liking, if not, Yes you can substitute it. It is a regular dining place for those of wisdom aka-55+ crowd and it sure seems like their go-to place. Just by parking your car all you see are people leaving TooJays with to-go containers in the TooJays bag, you know its gotta be good, and have nice portions. My man and I went around 6 pm and saw a decent sized waiting line for the hostess booth. The line went fast enough, giving you plenty of time to drool over the fresh baked goods in the display case.. As for my guy a TV with the football game on did the trick. Hostess sat us down at a booth, this place was very busy. He ordered the "jaygantic" Bacon Cheeseburger again. It comes double 8oz beef patties with cheddar and smokey bacon, with fries. -lettuce, tomatoes and coleslaw with a pickle on the side. A nice smokey char taste to the meat I love it so much, one of the best! A steak knife decorates the burger strictly for presentation, he just grab ahold and do the 'hunch'. Wow it is one good burger! All of that for 11.50$. I ordered the Beef Brisket Dip sandwich -it comes on French Bread with sautéed mushrooms and onions, and topped with cheese. It comes with a side of fries, coleslaw and a pickle, and of course French Onion soup to dip. The bread crunchy and soft, the meat not shy Piled in it, onions and mushrooms gave moisture and cheese great flav (9.25$) So delicious and huge I of course only managed half, and like the other patrons received my to-go box and bag to take the rest of my dinner home. Can't wait to try more items from TooJays it's my 4th location I've been to, and everything seems to be such a hit here! Yes I will def be back :))

They are trying to be a New York style or Jewish style deli and they're not making it. They have a deli section up front but no real deli would do it that way. For instance, herring and herring in cream sauce are two separate items, here if you get herring in cream sauce they just poor some cream sauce over the plain herring. They have to be kept together so they macerate. Also, the meat on the sandwiches are rolled in a ball, put on the bread and then cut in two. The sandwich looks huge but if you have them lay the meat flat you see what you are really getting, no authentic New York Jewish deli would do it that way. They try but they miss and expensive for what they miss.

I had someone pick up Toojay's goods for me. I asked the person taking the order TWICE to put the sliced deli meats in a bag of ice, as it was going to be a 2 hour trip until it got back to its destination. Fast forward 2 hours later when I receive the delivery. The deli meats are warm, surely spoiled. I called the Toojays, and was answered by the manager who said that he had put the turkey on ice until it was picked up. Sure enough, he blamed it on one of the "new workers." He told me that they will get it right the next time. I'm glad he cares so much about my next visit.

So today I had to miss the UYE Pinky Plunge due to a sore throat and fever. Of course everyone I know told me to drink tea with honey and lemon and have that good ol' cure of chicken soup. Well feeling lethargic, I was not up to making my own and ever since I started making my own soups, I can't stand to eat any out of a can so I asked my oh so loving and patient bf to get me some matzo ball soup from Too Jays. It's the best around town and you can order it in a pint or quart to go. Naturally, I wanted a quart and as usual, it did not disappoint. It's full of flavor and fluffy balls, which I prefer over dense ones! I only wish I was feeling better to enjoy something from the bakery. Perhaps my next visit. The "Jewish Penicillin" seems to be helping...

Been here quite a few times over the last year and love almost everything I've ordered. I especially appreciate the freshness & quality of the food here. At a deli the food has to be fresh in order to be any good and Too Jays doesn't disappoint. I love their Dijon Chicken Salad & always make sure to bring some home every chance I get. They have an enormous menu with selections ranging from shepherds pie to veggie quesadillas, as well as a dessert menu to rival any local bakery! If you're in the area and have never been it's definitely worth the trip! Just be aware on the weekends it can get pretty busy so you might have to wait a little while for a table.

It's been a year since I've been here since it is under new ownership. The deli food was always top notch. Stopped in for a corned beef sandwich, service was slow, the sandwich was not edible. I had heard the food quality had gone down hill, they weren't kidding.

This is the 2nd time I have eaten there other than take out. The first time I had t complain to management that they were not serving the matzo ball soup as it is stated on the menu. The excuse was that the soup base is used for different kinds of soup. This time I ordered the breakfast combo plate. The waffle was cold and would not melt the butter. I left 3/4 on the plate. The option for bread was a brioche roll of toasted challah. Since a fresh challah is better when it isn't toasted, I requested that. I now know why they toast it. The bread was a normal loaf shape instead of the twisted dough with a dark soft crust and a yellowish bread inside. This bread was white and stale. The bacon was thick and chewy rather than crisp and tasty. The grits were ok if you add splenda and butter for flavor. The only item I had there that was good, was the takeout of the corned beef on seeded rye bread. Except the last time, the crust on the bread was not as soft as I expected it to be. I doubt that I will go there again.

I've always been a Toojays fan, but this was my first time at this location. The server was very attentive and our food came out quickly. I always get a grilled cheese on challah bread and as usual they didn't disappoint! We typically grab some of their delicious black and white cookies for dessert, but the manager came by to see how we were doing and bought us dessert! That kind of small gesture will keep people coming back!

Florida's version of a NY deli. Not bad coming from a NY boy who grew up on Katz's, Ben's, and other NY style delis. Service was a bit slow. Seemed like waitresses got lost in the kitchen for a while. Baked good were a bit of food pornography as they look better than they actually were. Fudge brownie was very dry. Good for lunch.

So perhaps you have seen the photos I posted on this website. This was my first trip to Toojay's as I have been wanting to try this place for sometime. They like to call themselves a famous New York style deli but unfortunately they are anything but. I lived in Manhattan for 25 years and they don't come anywhere close to Carnegie Deli, the Star Deli, Katz's Deli, or any other New York style delicatessens. I ordered a corned beef and pastrami Toojays combo sandwich and learned that the coleslaw and pickle was extra. Also asked for a Dr. Browns celery soda, learned that a can of soda was $2.75. Really? $2.75 for a can of soda seriously? I got my sandwich and coleslaw and proceeded to the outside table where I was going to enjoy my sandwich. After I open the box I was appalled to see an emaciated sandwich that wouldn't feed a two-year-old. For $12 plus tax I would've expected to see an actual sandwich. I get more meat from Publix. And for the record the flavor was average at best. Anyway the experience was very disappointing and needless to say I will never be coming back here or recommending this place to anyone! I have never slammed an establishment before but this is the perfect example of marketing over substance. Very disappointing!!!

Delicious. Everything I tried was delicious. Incredible matzo ball soup. Yummy meats and gravy. Brisket sliders are awesome! I want to come back again and again. Service was excellent.

Huge selection of both savoury items and sweets. I've been here a couple of times, and by far the best thing I've ever had here has been the blintzes. Prices are pretty standard, and service is decent

Good food but terrible service. This location needs to get some servers who know how to wait on tables. My daughter and I sat down and didn't have menus in front of us for about 15 minutes. Then the servers comes up to us and asks if we want menus... Ummm duh dummy I'm not sitting here for my health!

TooJay's is a pretty solid Jew experience. If you yourself happen to be Jewish and you are craving some grub that hits close to home, TooJays won't disappoint. If you are Jewish and don't really feel like eating deli or some variation of white fish served on a bed of lettuce, TooJay's will hook you up with some top notch chicken fingers and steak fries (+ pickle). If you don't happen to be Jewish but you enjoy the occasional matzo ball soup or Reuben, TooJay's will be your guy. If you are not Jewish and don't care to dine on Jewish delicacies, go f*ck yourself. P.S. they have really good ranch.

Usually better experience but today food was bland, waitress was extremely slow and took forever to get our meals. That's ok....I'll go somewhere else

loved this chain when I first moved down... now... it's just... ehh... food is nothing special... prices aren't great and service is really hit and miss and last few times more miss... they gave my sister cold coffee and then rather then bringing her back a fresh hot cup, took her cup she already put milk into and put it in the microwave...

Just left Toojay's where my wife ordered a half of roast chicken for dinner, with broccoli. Half of the broccoli came out a nice green (fresh looking) color, and the other half came out like it was cooked three days ago. The "manager" came over and, when my wife asked for some fresh broccoli, instead of just bringing out some new broccoli, he took the whole plate away and 5 minutes later he brought the dinner out. My wife ate about 1/3 of the chicken because it tasted "old." Once again, the "manager" came over to take our plates away, and he asked what was wrong, and my wife told him (and I agreed with her) that the chicken did not taste fresh, but at least the wine was good. He took our plates away without saying anything, and came back a little later, showing us the original bill of $24.00 and that he took off HALF of her dinner. Really?!? Most decent restaurants would remove the whole cost of the dinner when a patron tells them the food did not taste good. He then saw that I had a coupon for half off the price of the second dinner. My dinner was $9.49. The waitress came back with the check as we never saw the "manager" again. Instead of taking off HALF of $9.49 like the coupon said, he took off ONE-QUARTER. Really? Had he taken my wife's WHOLE DINNER off, I wouldn't have even given him the coupon. It was sitting on the table. Now, he didn't give me the HALF off like the coupon said I would get. This was a whopping difference of $2.37, but I said nothing. We won't go back there for dinner because of the food first, and the manager's reasoning second. Who would want to lose a customer over such a petty price?? P.S. When the waitress asked what was wrong and we told her, she said we shouldn't order a half chicken there and expect it to be just made--it was made earlier in the day and reheated. Don't think they'd try that at J. Alexanders.

I have been to Toojay's on numerous occasions. Its not an authentic NY deli, but if you want good and reasonably priced Jewish/deli food, you can't go wrong. The menu is huge and you will find whatever old time favorite you want. I wish their matzo ball soup was just broth and the balls, but that is my preference. their desserts are really good as well.

Had the turkey and ham deli sand which came with Caesar salad cole slaw and a pickle absolutely delicious We were greeted at the door And server immediately. Great food and price. I would recommend for sure! Most of the food was kosher. I'm bringing my fiancée here. First time here

Yumm-Oh! Best Ruben I've had in a long time! Great prices, unbelievable choices on the menu (was hard to decide there was so much), friendly staff, great waitress who was on the money with her recommendations! Will definitely be back!

I have eaten in two of their places thinking it was just the Restaurant have eaten in. I come from NY and someone told me i need to eat here. They are trying but everyone down here in Florida has been brain washed with TooJays the food doesn't even come close to the worst Kosher style deli in northeast. Good luck if you want bootleg corn beef and pastrami Boars head is better. Had to give them a Star for the Seltzer. GOOD LUCK

South Florida just doesn't have a lot of great choices when it comes to good deli food. TooJay's has very good sandwiches. Their homemade rye is awesome. Go for the soup and half sandwich. Chicken noodle soup and the Tomato Dill are great.

Good service. Friendly staff. Was seated quickly. Coffee & Ice Tea watered down. Grilled Cheese more bread than cheese. Veg. salad--veggies were way overcooked. Won't go back...they rely on their name--food was not good.

We have been back a handful of times and have yet to have a bad food experience. I'm certain if we do, it will be an aberration. I have since had bothe the carrot cake and the noodle soup. Awe and Some! Also found the brisket and corned beef to be warm' moist and perfectly sliced and seasoned. I now have settled into a "usual" order. We recently returned and finally were graced with my long-lost waitrangel ("Flo") for the first time since the first time. As I said before, I LOVE THIS BROAD! She is as warm and crusty as the remarkable "table rye" they now put out while you wait for your meal. That is some damn good rye bread! I had to tell the manager that walked by our table what a great waitress she is and I asked her name. It is Carol, but she still will be Flo in my mind. He told her that I liked her and she came to the table and thank us and also gave a little good-natured banter. All the while, she is running around and putting wait-staff half her age to shame. She was particularly sweet to our little three-year-old who is a very picky eater. When she ate neither of the sides we picked for her with her kid's meal, Carol brought her a small black and white cookie. Anyway, my usual order is now this thing they call a deli combo. It is great and an awesome value. You get a large oval platter covered with leaf lettuce. On it are: your choice of three meats (about 3 oz of each), a scoop each of potato salad and cole slaw (half cup each), 2 spears of their awesome pickle, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, carrot sticks and your choice of bread, roll or bagel. Seriously, for $8.95 there is no better deal anywhere. I eat a sandwich of one of the meats (I get Turkey, corned beef and brisket), the potato salad and the cole slaw and one of the spears. I am full by then. I take home the other two meats, the lettuce and tomato and carrots, the other spear and a couple of slices of the table bread. So, at dinner I have a two meat sandwich with a tossed salad I make out of the veggies and some dressing from the fridge at home. Lunch and dinner that satisfies me for less than 10 bucks. Amazing. I highly recommend this deli combo. It is also a way to try various of their meats, or even their sandwich salads (tuna, chicken, egg) which they will count as one choice. I have had the ham, pastrami, tuna and chicken sald at different times and it is ALL good. Too Jays is awesome!

The best way to describe Too Jays is "pretty good for South Florida." The food is consistent and there are plenty go good choices. There's something for you even if you're a vegetarian. It gets crowded, but the line most quickly. They also do a fine job of catering and pre-orders for holiday meals.

Today was not a good day for this restaurant. It took one hour for 2 omelets to get to the table and they came cold and over cooked as they must have been sitting under the lamp. Management made things right and our server was friendly but seemed stressed due to lack of help. We won't be returning anytime soon.

I love this fresh Deli. The best Matzo ball soup EVER! I always get some when I'm sick. I mainly enjoy their breakfast, it is just so good and so filling. Pretty good eggs benedict, awesome potato pancakes, muffins, etc. The service is always just perfect, friendly and available at all times. Their bakery offers a nice assortment of cookies, cakes, muffins, rugelah. Been a few times for lunch and a couple times for dinner but mainly I enjoy their weekend breakfast! Get their early, there is usually a line during peak times. Always delicious fresh food and friendly service. Never been disappointed.

Lunch was ok - great menu, good portion size, but the waitress was not on her 'A' game today. In fact, she spent more time apologizing than serving. She apologized for taking so long to take our order. She apologized for not bringing everything we had asked for. She did *not* apologize for grabbing a drink off the table on her way by, then returning it to the table next to us before rushing off again. I can't remember if she apologized for bringing us the wrong check. It was lunch time, but not nearly busy enough to justify such bad service. I'd go back for the food and reasonable price, but probably try to sit somewhere else.

I'd like to recommend this place to anyone who knows and enjoys a New York style deli. I have been here several times, and it's the closest thing to a New York deli I have found in South Florida. In all my experience at TooJay's, I have never been disappointed. Although they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I think it's a great place for brunch or lunch. They have a vast menu, good food, and reasonable prices. The service is friendly, and the place is well maintained and clean. Last but not least, I find things on the menu that are hard to find in other places. Just to mention a few of my favorites, I love having the Nova Salmon on a Bagel, the Mediterranean Turkey Ciabatta, their Hot Pastrami, and their Beef Tongue, cut to your liking, which is very hard to find! I realize the last sandwich I mentioned may not be for everyone, but I guarantee they will have your favorite, too.

Poor service and the wifi didn't work. I asked the server and she said "oh well". Had to flag her down several times including asking a busboy to get her. Busboy says ok then goes to bus another table didn't even pretend to try. Oh well lesson learned next time I'm here visiting will avoided this overpriced place. Salty whitefish stay away.

Horrible experience To the middle age overweight blonde waitress at Toojays Why you didnt get a tip 1) you never came back to the table and asked if we needed more soda or anything 2) I ordered the NY style pastrami sandwich. Turned out to be a bad clone made in Miami You never asked why I didint even touch my meal 3) you never asked if Id like to take home the untouched sandwich 4) I said toasted rye it wasnt 5) You just gave me a bill for almost 30 bucks with what I think was a smirk . it was obvious you could care less about you customers To the young man behind the deli counter I was trying to buy four holiday trays of cookies , You said you would be right back and went into the kitchen. you never came back so we went to Publix instead

Food was good, not by any means amazing but I did enjoy my meal. My biggest complaint would be the dining ambiance, cleanliness could be better and I was very turned off by big bushy artificial plants next to my table on top of the wooden table separators, they gather a lot of dust and don't really create a clean feeling eating experience. Other than that server was attentive, and food was good.

Been there many times and I've tried many things on their menu. Bistro Burger,Chicken a la TooJay,Tuna Melt,Hot Corned Beef,Reuben ,Beef Brisket Dip,TooJay's Ultimate Brisket,Triple J,Tongue,Vegetable Reuben Ciabatta... and and and.. no I don't live here. They are anywhere from good to great and I do keep coming back. Their best thing on the menu is probably the Beef Brisket Sliders for $8.59. Heart attack on a plate but you'll die with a happy face. One thing about their deli meats is that they have a lot less sodium content than almost all the places that I've been to around town. It might make them come on as bland, but low sodium is actually good for you, and you can always just sprinkle on some salt if needed. When you go there for lunch, ask for Amy. She is very fun and will satisfy your every needs. ;)

Seriously, not at all bad. The best diner-deli-style place I've found in Broward County as far as the food goes (I'm judging by NY standards). Service can be good or maddeningly slow - that's Florida! The most extensive menu I've seen down there, and everything I've tried is at least good. You could do a lot, lot worse in the area, believe me.

Toojay's has a crazy huge selection. A million different sandwich combinations, comfort foods, salads, you name it. it took me forever to decide what I wanted. I had a French Dip, lots of roast beef, (needed salt), and a nice amount of cheese. The au jus was good, tasted like a soup more than an au jus. My husband had wings, and they were too salty. My son enjoyed his hot dog, but we all kind of thought the fries were old and disappointing. One thing I do like is that the children's menu comes with two sides, a few of which are healthy. Overall I found the food a little above average, but not great. So why the 4 stars? The service was like whoa. The waitress was awesome. She catered to my son and even took him up to the dessert case and gave him a free cookie. I could not have asked for anyone to treat us better. The desserts did look great, and we bought a Tollhouse Bar to take home, and we very much enjoyed it. Even though the food was not the best I had ever had, I would definitely try them again.

Going to breakfast is an occasional simple pleasure I look forward to once in a while. In my experience, it's difficult to completely botch a breakfast but that's exactly what Toojay's did. I've been here for a sandwich for lunch before and it was okay. However, the Nova eggs Benedict I ordered this morning took over 1/2 hour to come to my table. I'm sure of this because in the nearly empty restaurant, I watched as a lady, who arrived after me, be served by another waitress and complete her breakfast while I continued to wait. Since my breakfast had not yet arrived, I was aware of the time. I figured maybe eggs Benedict took a little longer, or something went wrong. Maybe my waitress either forgot to put in my order or it was sitting on the serving counter for at least 15 minutes. The older lady who was my waitress never checked on me so I had to get up, go to the front and ask for someone to check on my order. Within a couple of minutes thereafter, miraculously here came my breakfast. While it looked good, everything on the plate was cold. Hmmm, I wonder if my suspicion that the waitress left my order sitting was correct? Potatoes, eggs and English muffin were totally cold. In my entire life, I don't ever remember sending back a meal because it was served cold, let alone breakfast. I'm one of those people who would rather throw away a meal than send it back but I was too hungry. I had to flag down another waitress because, although I could hear my waitress, she didn't come to my table. So after about 5 minutes I asked another waitress if she could bring me a hot version. Mistake. I think they nuked the plate and just put fresh eggs on top. The English muffin was like rubber. I could barely cut it. Also, somehow they managed to return the plate with the same cold potatoes... only a smaller portion. The Nova was definitely nuked too. Smelled and tasted like fish cooked in a microwave. I was really hoping they wouldn't go that route. I ate a bit of cold breakfast potatoes, ate the hot poached eggs and got this breakfast for the low, low price of $14. Never again. I understand why it was dead at 9am on a Saturday.

Oy - if you are like me - a gentile Cuban from NY with a huge taste for good, authentic deli, Toojays delivers when you have a huge craving fir big pickles (not croquetas.) Best matzoh ball soup. Perfect, actually. Well prepared classics like white fish salad, chopped liver and brisket - and of course dill pickles and Dr. Brown sodas. Good sized portions, but not ridiculous. The half sandwich with soup or salad is a good choice for about $8. Full sandwiches are best for those who are feeling more on the ravenous side. The service can get slow due to high volumes at lunch time- but come a little early or late for lunch and you are fine. Servers all very attentive and move as quickly as they can. It's South Florida, not South of Houston, so this place does not have the soul of a Katz deli or anything close, but the food is almost good enough to make you forget - for a little bit.(And it costs about half the price!) P.s. They have a counter to order salads and cookies and stuff to take home, and they cater. Oh no. I now have a massive craving for a chopped liver and turkey sandwich... with a giant pickle.

Food was good. The guy who seated us was nice. Our waiter left something to be desired. He was nice enough but seemed distracted. (It wasnt too busy) My boyfriend had to ask to get his drink refilled. The waiter took forever and mine was never refilled. He forgot several items that came with the order, and the guy who seated us ended up cashing us out since our waiter took forever and disappeared.

TooJays delivers solid deli food but nothing exceptional The ambiance is very noisy and crowded, not really all that comfortable. Server was efficient but rushed. Order (nothing special) took a pretty long time I had the reuben sandwich and the bread and meat were good but very little swiss cheese. It was kind of dry too...I did ask for and recieved more thousand island on the side. Just seemed like no cheese ?? Dessert pastries are good and flakey but not enough to make me want to hurry back there. JMO there are better deli's around and better deals too

I eat here a couple of times a month, but the wait time for food has gotten out of hand. The wait staff spends half their time apologizing for the kitchen. I will try this place one more time. If the time between ordering food and getting food is more than 20 minutes again, I will not be back. That's too long to wait for an omelet and toast.

3:30 pm on a monday. Waited 3 minutes to be greeted by hostess. Got sat down, waited 10 minutes for a waitress. She never came. We got up and left. Too bad for toojays. I was excited to eat here. We will never be back.

Decent place for a good meal but it gets very very busy at certain times and makes the wait not worth it. If you walk out without trying the banana dream then you've made a big mistake,

Husband had the Chopped Salad - we counted 12 ingredients but are probably missing one or two - it was wonderful - HUGE portion, fresh, delicious, generous portion of Blue Cheese Dressing - great value - no complaints. I had Egg Sandwich for $5.49 - came with side order of home fries - again - delicious and great value. I also ordered a cup of Matzo Ball Soup - and this is where we were let down - it arrived piping hot, but instead of being in matzo ball broth, it was in full blown chicken soup. I do not like chicken soup, I don't eat chicken, and if it had been put on the menu as such (matzo ball in chicken soup) , I would not have ordered it. I wanted Matzo ball soup! I'm sure lots of people love it this way - but I don't. If I order Matzo Ball Soup, that's what I want - not chicken soup loaded with chicken (I don't eat chicken). I ate some of the matzo ball itself, but left the rest of it (all the vegetables and pieces of chicken) - so I'd say most of it was left in the cup. When the waitress (Erica I think her name was) came to take it away, I said to her I didn't care for it - that I had wanted Matzo Ball Soup in what I assumed would be the broth and this was full of chicken and vegetables. She said no, it's in Chicken soup. I said that it should be written that way on the menu (that it's Chicken Soup) - and she said very sharply well, if you'd called me over earlier I could have strained it for you. I'm not sure whether she was being sarcastic or not, but the thought of having someone strain my soup and then hand it back to me gave me the creeps. No thanks. Plus it would still be chicken soup, not matzo ball soup. I said no thanks, but was really turned off by her response - plus the fact that she still charged me for it. She should have just deducted it off the bill, as she took most of it back to the kitchen with her and knew that I was not happy. I thought she was quite rude actually - and I'm fed up that she still charged me for it. Having said that, everything else was GREAT, good value, large portions - quick service - we will definitely go back but I won't get the soup again, that's for sure.

The french onion soup Is supreme. I get a veggie wrap it makes me sooooo happy. Especially on rainy days! They offer up a nice selection of Organic Hot teas...It really busy here though so sometimes you need to have patience.. Like i said its my favorite rainyday place, less wait. it truly gets packed for dinner and lunch and the wait staff has to many tables to offer the best service. My sign is if you can't find parking in the parking lot just keep driving..

Great deli food and great service very impressed! Went into day for brunch with my grandmother. Everytime we finished something it was cleared right away. Even the manager came over and asked how everything was going. There food is good I got the half sanwich, and soup for $8.29. Nice size portion of turkey pastrami on fresh challah bread, with a cup on matzoh ball soup. Two people for lunch was under $20.

Toojay's has been a favorite of mine for lunch for many years. The service is good. The food is consistently very good. The servings are huge. Always more than I can eat. Try the burger a la Toojay's. I often get take-out here also. The only down side is occasionally long line to be seated.

once i was served my SALMON BENEDICT it took me all of a moment to disassemble an entirely sickening looking piece of tomato and an obviously microwaved poached egg and what looked like hair as the onion slices in sending it back practically untouched it took another while for the manager to appear who gave me the standard excuses and used the restaurants "following" as proof of the "gourmet" qualification but i told him mcdonalds also has a "following" but that doesn't qualify as edible food to me either i think the object of making people wait as a strategy is supposed to lead to the patron more satisfied that they get served anything at all - then i realized that this is florida and mediocre is sufficient = period which i suppose is why the waitress never did follow up on an alternative selection and basically avoided our table for the next thirty plus minutes, which on top of the initial dozen minutes waiting to put in our order and of course the obligatory ten or so minute wait on the line - wait, wait and wait again..........since the food sucks WHY WAIT at all ? looking around the old jews i guess stood quiet and resigned themselves long ago to wait, or else their NYers kids visiting them might suggest the get put in an assisted-living facility home with most having newspapers with them ready to wait and i saw a few entire SUNDAY EDITIONS of the NYTs as time filling diversion i eat out often and actually expect a number of bad experiences so i factor this in as one i was due for in trying this place out based on having seen closed the previous crab shack restaurant as a stop on the bill but i will not be a "follower" of this mess i'll leave it for the nearly dead and just visiting who know florida is a land of sub-par food BUT one has to eat somewhere and JAPs don't cook when on vacation

I've been to other Too Jay's locations in Orlando and Tampa, but we were visiting family in the area. This location holds up to the high expectations I've come to gain from my other visits. Brunch, lunch, dinner ... all tasty meals with lots and lots of options. The closest thing to New York Deli I've found in Florida. (Though it still isn't true New York!) I just have to avert my eyes as I leave to keep from walking out with bags of Black & Whites and rugelach.

My family went to Toojay's for lunch recently. It took about 45 mins for two sandwiches, a cup of soup, and a hamburger to come out (not to mention the 10 or so mins waiting just for drinks and silverware). The food itself was fine, nothing special but pretty good. The wait, however, was truly unacceptable. We should have been in and out MUCH sooner. I'd eat Toojay's again, but definitely order out. Don't count on timeliness.

When TooJay's in Plantation first opened I was a server here. I loved the food then and nothing has changed. I was able to sit down for lunch the other day and the food is still the same. I will surely visit again the next time to SoFL I have.

Toojay's is a great deli and they have a lot of different kinds of food. I have ordered food to go as well as eaten there and I have pretty much enjoyed every meal. The waitress was awesome and she helped my family and I kind of rearrange the menu so we could order entrees that we wanted that weren't exactly on the menu. I have had the tuna salad, the brisket and the taco salad. The tuna salad sandwich was a little disappointing but the other two items made up for it. The brisket was really tasty and the taco salad was great. They put a lot of lettuce and chili in the salad which I thought was perfect. The only drawback is that sometimes the line to eat in can be kind of long so make sure you don't go during the lunch or dinner rush hour or you might end up waiting. It's worth the wait, however and you won't be disappointed.

This place is solid. They never disappoint. You get what you came for: diner food, hot coffee, warm atmosphere (except the AC is on full blast....bring a sweater). Everything is good. I'm always like "hell yeah, nice". Perfect for Sunday breakfast.

Solid place to go for breakfast. The mimosa's here are very tasty. It's nothing spectacular but you also won't be dissapointed in the food. It's a good go to spot if you are trying to have a good breakfast that won't blow you away. The service is also good, and there are tv's! :) I will revisit.

Killer vegetarian menu. Tons of stuff. Awesome vegetarian ruben, though it's vegetarian NOT vegan and adjustments can't be made because they are pre-made earlier in the day. That being said they are ultra yummy. I've eaten there a few times and I love it. Great for veggies and meat eaters alike.

I ordered a lean pastrami sandwich over rye. The pastrami was so fatty I had to look for the meat. The rye, however was great. I won't order the pastrami next time just go for the lean brisket if u care about u'r arteries. I tried a lot of Delis in south Florida, all don't worth the ink to write with, but out of all the garbage delis in south Florida Toojay's stinks the least. What can I say, after eating at Katz's Deli and 2nd Ave Deli u can't blame me for Being spoiled I can't believe these south Florida Delis call themselves NY Delis.

Service is slow, the lines can be long, but the food is delicious.

I have been to a different Toojay's in the past and was satisfied but not at this particular one. The food was on the cold side even though we ordered a Hot Pastrami and a burger. I have also seen friendlier employees at McDonalds than I encountered at this Toojays.

I have been here many times, typically, because someone else wants to meet there for lunch. It's rarely, if ever, my choice to eat here. The food is average and kind of bland. The service is usually slow; however, you can do worse. The deli sandwiches are well stuffed. They certainly don't skimp on the meat and cheese. You can pretty much say that about all their dishes. Portion sizes are never an issue. The bread is usually really good. We did have one episode with one manager where we walked out of the restaurant because he was so rude and abrasive. From experience, I don't think that was a good representation of the management in general...it was an outlier. All in all, the place is fairly good.

Sometimes your gotta put some NY style deli in your stomach. This is where Toojays comes into play. If you need that breakfast, sandwich, or soup fix, this is the place. There sandwiches are really good and go great with a cup of soup. The service is attentive and you can really taste the quality. If you need that fix, get it here. Your tummy will thankyou.

Some servers are better than others but food is typically consistent and good. Can be pricier for dinner but better place or breakfast and dinner. Try their ruggaluch for a delicious desert pastry.

I like to come here when it's crowded and listen to the yankee waitresses smart talk the patrons. To me, it gives this place NY charm. The menu is HUGE and portions are generous. Decent prices.

I don't understand there food. Everything is tasteless except the chopped liver, which is really good. Service is very good as well.

After attending the Broward Walk now for Autism event ,some of my team mates and I headed over to TooJays's for brunch. I was pretty excited because I remember their potato pancakes being deeelish! We were seated with very little wait which was surprising for a group of 9. So my biggest gripe about this visit was our server. She made it pretty clear that she was not interested in going the extra mile. She actually seemed to be bothered by us. Right after telling her our food order, my friend asked if we could do separate checks. Her response was that we should have told her before we said what we wanted because now it's "all mixed together" on her pad. Say what? She promptly walked away. We began to chatter at the table wondering why in the world was it so freakin' difficult to give us separate checks at that point? Is it really such a hassle for her? It's not like it was after she brought us the bill! She must have heard us because she came back about 2 minutes later to find out who wanted separate checks and what they ordered. A few people at the table were joking about how I would "yelp" her and after hearing that the service improved. I still wouldn't give her high marks but at least she didn't treat us like we were bothering her anymore. The food was good, but not great. The bacon in my BLT was a little chewy. Although the potato pancakes were outstanding as usual. Everyone walked away satisfied and pretty darn full. I would go again, but would avoid that server.

Just ate here, It was very busy and has an extensive menu. The menu features a vegetarian and lighter foods section. I had a challah grilled cheese with fries, it was delicious. The restaurant is deli style and has a nice bakery section with various cakes and cookies. Overall, the place is clean and has many options.

Nice atmospere and friendly service. I ordered hash and eggs and the portion size was tiny. About 2 tablespoons of hash with 2 tiny poached eggs on top. Not a filling breakfast for anyone.

We were four ladies all searching for a good meeting spot in Plantation, and Too Jays came to mind. Had not been there in a while, and the Fountains shopping center is being all torn up, so you might not even think it's open, but it is, and not as busy as usual, so no wait. We had a very sweet waitress who asked if we wanted Dr Brown sodas, and we all said why not, and that was a good start. Two of had the roasted veggie wrap with fresh fruit on the side and it's excellent. The portion is perfect and it is very tasty. The other two split a cobb salad and had everything possible on the side, the waitress was extremey accomodating. The food came out quick and we were treated well. It's not something I would run back for, but if you are in that area, it's a consistent place with good food, and this time, we had great service. On the way out we couldn't resist getting a mini black and white cookie for each us, perfect ending for a nice luncheon.

TooJay's is a nice restaurant to go for lunch. We have a young child and she loves the kid's meals. We go once a week for lunch. It gets very crowded on weekends, but the food is very consistent and reasonably priced.

Just had breakfast there today. Food and service is really good - deli food with a modern presentation. Not exactly sure who's idea it was to add a tomato slice to Egg's Benedict but if it's not to your taste you can easily remove. The waffles were tasty too!!! I've never been disappointed! Great dill chicken salad sandwhiches, shepard's pie is awesome, bakery items are always temptingly good. Long lines at times, very good service and great big portions.
