I'm not going to rank on this place because, honestly, I wasn't there that long. But I guess you can come to your own conclusions as to why I wasn't there that long. For anyone planning on going, forget using your GPS because, like Area 51, some things can't be found. When you're driving down S Dixie Hwy, on 104th, there will be a Shell gas station. You make a left there and immediately make your first right after the station. It's underneath a billboard. This place seems like it's more for people who just want to have a drink and not be bothered AT ALL. Which, don't get me wrong, that's cool. But if you're with a group, you might not want to go here for fear of being hated by everyone who wants peace and quiet as they delve into their depression. I mean, the beer is cheap, and the crowd is nice. So, overall not a bad place, just not y type of place. P.S.- They have a sign outside the bar that says "Please don't throw your bottles on our roof, it clogs the drains." I guess you can take whatever you want from that.

I came here for the famous burgers and let me tell you that I'm not disappointed. Their burgers have a homey feel as if you just had your moms homemade BBQ burger. The setting is one of a typical American bar with booths, pool table and large screen TVs to watch sports. The staff was very friendly and it seems like its a family own bar/restaurant.

i hadnt been to keg south since i was a kid, until today. i pass it often, since my tailor is right down the street, aka alley. i walked in with rosy g (a yelp lurker,,, everyone say hi rosy) and immediately felt a little uncomfotable since it was full of only old men sitting at the bar who all stopped to turn and look at us. we sat down and decided on fish dip, 2 burgers, and a basket of fries. you have to get up and order at the bar (no table service here, lol) we got back up to get our drinks, and then again for our appetizer, and again for our burgers. but the food is oh so worth it! the burgers were juicy and delicious, grilled to perfection. and the fries, omg the fries, i couldve eaten the whole basket as my main meal! all this food for a whopping 18 bucks. yes i know unbelieveable. so cheap, almost like fast food prices, except homemade quality and taste!!

This place is homey. It is such a comfortable atmosphere. If you get to know the bartenders, you are in! They are such nice people. It is pretty much the epitome of happiness. - Great people - Music - AMAZING burgers - Chicken wings from HEAVEN - Cheap Beer - Fresh fish dip - Homemade Key Lime Pie (Literally, from the wife of a bartender) I love it.

Burgers, brews and witch doctors. Forget Disney. Keg South is the most magical place in Florida. First off, actually finding the place is about as simple as jumping on the Hogwarts Express. Keg South is located in an alley somewhere near US 1 and Betty's Best Burgers. Be sure to bring a divining rod with you to find its exact location. Once you enter the magical realm, you'll notice that not all is what it seems. A 3 ft wide billboard pole guards Keg South's front door. Once you enter its hallowed entryway you are transported to a wondrous land of men. Men-- of all shapes, sizes. Men. here to feast on red meat and grog. I also encountered a real life and extremely friendly witch doctor, who I adoringly refer to as Bone Beard. Ever since that pivotal afternoon, I vowed to never venture to Keg South again. A repeat visit would pop this burger bubble of mine. The experience was too magical to recreate. For now, it will always remain a distant figment of my imagination.

Still as good as ever! Keg South serves up the best grilled wings. It had been over 10 yrs. since visiting this hidden dive gem but it was worth the dig. So much has been built up around it. I remembered a dirt road but not anymore. We had the barbeque wings grilled and they were as good as I remembered. The fries were hand cut and perfectly crispy with just the right amount of salt. The burgers were so fresh I thought they would say "Moo!" They grind their own chuck and char grill them to perfection. The waitress was super nice and even gave us info. on a local farm we had just visited. There was no room for dessert but we stayed and played some music on the juke box.

Best burger in Miami. No question. Fries are also awesome. No wonder Fudruckers and Bettys Burgers across the street are gone.

I really wish I could rate this place higher. I have been here a few times and it always was just sub par. It is hidden behind a gas station and really has no signs for an entrance. Going inside its always kind of a weird shady mix of people, sometimes its better then others. What makes this place good is the wings which are awesome. I think the best bet is if you live close by get them to go. I recently came here and got a pitcher, some fries, and the "world famous" keg burger. The beer tasted pretty flat and kind of strange it was probably at the end of the keg. Next the fries were pretty soggy in oil and just a basket of tasteless mush with salt. The keg burger was good but nothing out of this world. I wish this place were a little nicer with better food. For now I will just keep going a little further south and go to Corbetts.

Keg South is a great place to go for a few beers and wings. It's completely hidden in a back alley, but don't let that stop you from enjoying the several beers on tap (including yuengling and landshark). It's a very small bar and dark inside so don't bring someone here and expect to impress them. But it is a great place to watch a Dolphins or Heat game.

Keg South is my kind of place. Even though it's far...far... away... and my college days are a few years past me, I still manage to pop in once in a while. I was concerned that when Sam left, the spirit of the place would follow (in a way it did,. so if you get a chance go and check out his bar -- Hole in a Wall Pub). However, the great tasting Burgers and Wings have stayed just the same. Great Prices, cheap beer and a good local crowd. Quick Fact: Do you know how you can tell if a place is good or not. Ceiling Height! Why you may ask? The lower the ceiling height,. the older the place is,... why? because people were a lot shorter back then.... I'm serious... Look it up.

Felt like a good burger so we took a drive down to SW 104 St & US 1. But it is not on US 1. You have to turn left at the Shell Station and then make a right and then another right into the parking lot to get into the little restaurant. And I do mean little. But the burgers are really good. We did order French Fries and one order is enough for two or three people. I did find them a little greasy for me taste though. Great place for lunch to watch the football games. Heard other things were just as good. You go to the bar and order and then pick up your order. Easy and simple. Enjoy!

Keg South has one of the best burgers I have ever had in Miami. But this one on US-1 and sw 104th street is my favorite, it has been here forever, and has hardly changed. I can't tell you much about the beer or drinks here, just that the burgers are juicy and wonderful. The fries are very good, the chicken wings are great, and the best part, they have coke. anytime I come here, we have a good time, that alone makes it worth coming back

For over a year, rumors of a good burger were not enough for me to trek from my Brickell neighborhood "all the way" down south to this little treasure. I'm so glad I finally found a chance to cautiously head down the alley behind the Shell station to discover this place. Perhaps part of my delight came from actually finding a dive bar tucked in an alley under a large billboard behind a gas station. But in truth, this place won my heard with the ice cold beer on draught. It is so cold that you're half way through your beer before you know it. And with a slight nod, the bartender immediately pours you a new beer just as you finish your last sip. I love finding places in Miami where you can go as you are, meet your friends, drink cold beer and eat bar food that counters all your efforts at the gym. And Keg South is just one of those places. You don't come here if you're looking for a place with amazing food and service and slick decor. You come here because you're the kind of person who likes to eat burgers, wings, play pool and drink beer with friends (or alone) in dingey place that is hidden in an alley. I only noticed three menu items: Grilled wings, burgers and fries. I wasn't too impressed with the wings but I prefer my wings with sauce. Looking at the burgers on other patrons' plates made me regret my menu choice. The Keg doesn't have a full liquor license so only beer and wine for you. If I lived in the area, this would be a regular hangout and meeting place for me. I definitely won't wait another year to trek down here and try the huge greasy burger and have some more ice cold beer.

This place was awesome. I had the burger and fries. The fries were more than enough for two, they were hand cut, and delicious! The burger was soooo good. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try the wings yet, but I saw them being cooked and they look awesome. definitely the next thing I try. The beer was SUPER cold, which is important to me and the atmosphere was very chilling.

Completely worth it if you're in Pinecrest. A definite local bar, no pretense, just good, attentive service. Good wings (and I'm a wing snob) and burgers. Great fries! And if I may talk money: 3 burgers, fries, wings and a pitcher=$40. GO!

For Kendall/Cutler Bay/Palmetto Bay this is the best bar food you can get. The girlfriend and i got a order of fries and 20 wings. The fries were lightly seasoned and hand cut. As you can see from the picture i posted the portion is huge. They were amazing. the phrases "i love these fries" and "i cant stop eating them" came up. We dont drink so i cant comment on the beer. The wings were really good. I thought they were a bit salty but the size (most important) was more than decent. Try to go to Wing Stop or Buffalo Wild Wings and expect wings that size. It'll never happen. From talking to the cook (nice people and you pretty much serve yourself) dont expect hand and foot service. this is a hole in the wall. You get up and order your own food at the bar. He says they deep fry the wings, dump them in sauce and then finish them off on the grill. Then they add Worcestershire sauce while on the grill. In my opinion when i go again i would ask for less sauce because i felt it took away from the entire wing. It was a bit too salty for my girlfriend and I. The cook recommended i try the burger next time. I cant wait to go back. so so good Location: as others have mentions its not visible from us-1. it is located on the street immediately behind the shell gas station (located on the corner of US-1 and 104th) I've attached a google maps picture to help. There is absolutely no signage on the place. It is literally right underneath the billboard next to the shell gas station

Its good for hanging out with a few friends after work for drinks, very small, total sausage fest. No woman. So if your looking to go to a bar and see / pick up or hang out with hot chicks you better bring your own. The food is pretty good. ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT - I kind of question the sanitary conditions. In the mens bathroom, in one of the stalls, in the light fixture there appeared to be dead insects. Please clean whatever is in there because it is nasty and people might think it is what i think it is.

After not being able to find a seat anywhere for the World Cup, a few friends and I decided to call up Keg South and check if they had any seats available. Luckily, they did. We arrived and ordered at the bar. The place was a bit cramped, and there were no real waiters, so we had to get up and grab everything from the bar. This wasn't so bad, though, and at the end, we didn't have to end up shelling out extra cash to add tip. We got two pitchers and each person ordered a burger, and we split some wings. The burger is excellent. Very simple, cooked to order, but it tastes like you made it in your backyard, with all the fixings (about $5 for a regular, $6 for a jumbo). On the downside, they're served with chips instead of Keg South's fresh cut fries, so you might have to order a basket on the side. Again, this is not so bad, because the basket is cheap (around $2), and brings plenty of fries for two people. The beer, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. With a name like Keg South, I expected them to be at the top of their game with the beer. Our pitcher of Amstel Light tasted watered down, and to make things worse, a batch of 7 or 8 small flies circled our table constantly, latching on to the pitchers most of the time. Granted, it was raining, and we were right by the back door/patio/smoking area. I almost forgot to mention the wings. The sauce is their own blend of buffalo, and other spices. While some of our wings were burnt and tasted like nothing, most of them were in good order, and when they were perfect, they really hit the spot. Next time, I'm gonna ask them not to burn the wings so much, and see if that works. So, overall -- good, cheap food and beer. A winner in my book, and I plan on visiting Keg South again soon. You should too, just make sure you take a look at the extremely helpful picture provided by a user on Yelp, so you can at least find this little hidden spot on US1.

We both tried the Keg burger and it was good. The beer was not bad either. I thought it was okay, but my hubbie loved it. Next time, I think I'll try the wings.....they looked yummy. By the way, don't expect a fancy place. I didn't know it was a whole in the wall (and it was super hard to find!), but I'm glad we stayed and gave it a try. Also, it is behind the Shell gas station off of Rt. 1 in some alley. I don't even think it's a street. LOL

TWO words: Juicy burgers! OK, I lied...two more words: Hand-cut fries! Shoot, I lied again...two more words: COLD beer In summary: Juicy burgers, hand-cut fries, and COLD beer. What else could a glutton possibly want?!?

This is the first Keg South that I've visited. First of all, you really need to know someone who's been there to find this place. It's entrance is hidden in which you have to go through an alley to find it. To be honest, I think that the fact that it is hidden adds to what makes this place awesome. Once you find it, you'll see it's a quaint place with a limited bar and some chairs and tables, I couldn't give you a count but seating as well is limited. I has told that the wings were excellent in this place and it's true. The wings were phenomenal... That's pretty much the only thing I tried cause I was drinking a pitcher of Sam Adams. I will say the beer is fresh as well. You might be asking, "Beer..... Fresh??" Yes beer was fresh. Kegs like most things have a shelf life, after sitting around for a while they will lose some flavor so to speak. A good friend happens to have a kegerator at his home, of Sam Adams none the less, to which I have tasted what fresh beer tastes like. So after this acclimation I can taste fresh vs non-fresh beer. In closing Keg South has fresh beer. The service was on par as well...

I was disappointed! After several recommendations, I had to give it a try. I went with a few friends from work. We order smoked fish dip, fries and burgers. I enjoyed the dip. It came with crackers and jalapenos. The fries were over-cooked and soggy. Something that happens when the oil is not hot enough. The burger was nothing to brag about. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard and mayo with a side of chips. I am in no hurry to go back. Details worth noting: Parking is a task. Typical dive bar ambiance. A pool table, video games and a couple of TVs. The mailman with the braided beard was playing video games. You order and pickup your order at the bar. Small comfortable relaxed place. With all the strong recommendations and reviews, I was disappointed. But that is just my opinion.

Been awhile since i been here (6months) but the Hugh burgers were fantastic. The place is hard to find but I'm from Miami so i kno where all the dive bars are :) :)...this place still the same, smoked fish dip, still the same, cold beer, still the same, juke box not playin, still the same.

When you crave a "Real" Burger this is the place to go, Keg provides the Cheeseburger in Paradise pair it with fries and a cold beer and this is what Buffet is referring to. I have also had the Fish Sandwich and it does not disappoint. Next time I'm going for the wings they seem to be the rave.

So this is a small little sports bar behind the shell gas station on 104th and dixie. The wings here are delicious! I also tried the burger which was okay.

I guess this place is alright. I don't recommend any desert, tastes like plastic. the fries, ehh whatever. I don't think its that big of a deal but its a chill place to have some beer.

been there once - the classic hole in the wall on US1. Very small, the kitchen is the size of my bed and there are about 3 beers to choose from. food is decent, drinks cheap, families among the drunks clientele (although I did see Glenn miller from the Heat during my visit). I have no real desire to go back and the parking lot is well lit because it seems to be an arena for drunken redneck brawls

I recently began returning to Keg South because I remembered how wonderful the chicken wings were as a kid. The bar is the epitome of a hole in the wall biker bar but it has maintained its friendly appeal over the years. Looking for a fun time, delicious burgers and sandwiches, and the best wings ever? Visit Keg South. You may find yourself becoming a regular! Naughty!

Keg South has some great burgers. Juicy, delicious, perfect. Very good fries too. I actually never tried anything else because I always went when I felt like a cold burger and a beer. They also have great beer at very reasonable prices by the way. It's not too flashy. In fact, very small and quaint. I haven't been there in a year so I don't know if it's changed but it used to be a regular of mine.

A very small place that is hard to find. You have to enter from the alley, it is under the huge billboard. They have the coldest draft beer around and the burgers and chicken wings are great. If you sit at the bar you can watch them make the food right in front of you, that's how small the place is.

Great place they are doing everything right the burgers are best in Miami other than the ones I make at home the service is great too, I over tip all the time here. Wings are great too not hard and over fryed.

I was very excited to try these amazing burgers everyone was talking about. I was very disappointed when I actually tasted them. They are far from amazing. If your looking for a good burger I would go to Five Guys. The fries were so greasy. They literally were soggy from all of the oil that was on them when they were served to us. There is no one there to serve you. You have to get up order at the bar, pick up your food at the bar, and clean clean up your own table. Since I was my own waiter I did not think I would have to tip anyone. Apparently I was wrong. The bar tender asked me for a tip as I was walking out. When I told him I was not going to tip because I served and cleaned up after myself he got upset with me. When I was then relaying this message to some friend the same thing happened to them. They refuse to go there because of how nasty the bartender was about demanding a tip he did not deserve. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN!

Six of us went to Keg South for the first time during the Christmas holidays. We had heard that the burgers were "the best". Well, there were lots of negatives before we ever got to the burgers. The parking was ridiculous and had space for about eight cars, off an alleyway. with no real designated spaces. When we walked into the place, it was empty, because we were early. Soon, what appeared to be laborers, arrived en masse for wings and beer. We all ordered the burgers and fries and pitchers of beer and made ourselves at home at some very well worn picnic tables. Our order came out in bits and drabs with the fries arriving after the burgers were long gone. Then we saw the kitchen was the size of a bread box. Let's just say that it was not for us though the food was "okay". The fries were the best part and everything else was the worst part. No returns for us.

Once again couldn't find the place, the entrance is not on US-1 but from an alleyway off 104th Street. Which is probably why it's good. It's an authentic Florida landmark for sure, unadulterated. Friendly service for a locals-type place, burger was rated "good" by the wife, and the beer was very cold, if a tad pricey. The wings, also pricey at about $9, were and are outstanding. Best I can figure, they deep fry them first, then toss in Bob's or something very similar, and then they char them on the grill when you order them. Don't know of another place that does this, they are tops, outstanding, super-primo, etc.

Looking through some of these reviews makes me miss Keg South and one of those juicy burgers of theirs! Yummmm With that being said, this place is GREAT. Look no further if you're in the mood for a savory burger & some cold brews. The men working here have integrity and show work ethic. The big bearded man has served me some of the best burgers I have ever had the pleasure of tasting in Miami (no joke). The beer is always ice-cold and the bartender will refill your mug without even having to ask for it! Now that's what you call excellent service... This spot has a home feel to it since its been around for so long! It has a super laid back & friendly atmosphere... Welcoming to everyone! Most of the people who stop by are professionals and families of the Pinecrest area. So save the drama for your mama! Keg South is the spot to unwind and have a good time - on ANY occasion. My advice to whoever is reading this... Come in and ask for a Keg Burger, a side of fresh-cut potato french fries, and a cold one! If you get lucky, the big bearded man will show you his talents on the grill. Enjoy!!! Xoxo

It's been years since I've been here. That was college 30 years ago and with my parents. The food ( wings and burger ) and well as cold beer were all awesome. Here with my son today and he'll take his son one day and keep the tradition going. If you've never been to "the keg" go! And if it's been a while, go back!!!

What a DIVE! And I mean that in the most endearing and literal way possible. It's impossible to find, but if you do manage that, you won't be sorry. Stay away if you are in heels, wearing lots of makeup, or just got your hair done. This place has ZERO frills. It does not belong in Miami, and that's why I love it. If you need to forget about the heat, or basically that you live in godawful Miami, you should definitely come here - seriously, there are no windows, so you can realistically forget all of your troubles and drink and eat your sorrows away. Probably some of the best wings I've ever had. They're "Daytona style" meaning that they're grilled with the sauce already on them. They're the whole wings, so they're extra messy but extra fantastic. Get some extra sauce to pour on top - so delish! It's such a fun little place go to and get a pitcher, also. They've got a pool table, darts, and other arcade games, if you happen to go when a regular isn't busy with all of them.

Stopped by on the way back from Cutler Bay, because we were craving hamburgers. We haven't been there in over 5 years, and it was nice to see that they cleaned out the place a lot, but the hamburguers were still incredible! The fries were pretty good too, we had a great afternoon meal, and we were able to sit on a table, with out 5 year old son, who loved the food too! The beer wasn't great, but wasn't bad either. Probably I should have ordered a budweiser instead of a shock top. Overall, we loved it. We will stop by again next time we are close by, a shame we are so far away.

I love this place. Nothing to complain about. The food is consistently good. The wings are my favorite in town and the burgers are large. Prices are normal and cheap considering the amount of food you get. The employees are always young, cool and friendly. The hobo that sleeps in the back porch is slightly interesting for a few seconds but you get over it quickly. Perfect definition of a good neighborhood bar.

I am a Pinecrest resident, recently I revisited the Keg in the Village and was very impressed with the new ambiance. The Pinecrest community is growing...The Keg has a great Moms and Pops feel, it's a cool little bar that reminds us where we came from. The beer was ice cold on a hot summer day, and the wings were amazing!!! The staff is very young and upbeat. Mike was our server, he is very friendly, a good listener and has a great smile

This is everything you want or need from a bar. Solid food--6 kegs--dimly lit--sports playing on the tube--and a billiards table. Groupons available from time to time, but don't let that stop you. You are gonna get great bang for your buck. Try the wings.

This place is amazing. The wings are hands down best wings I have ever had in my life. The burgers are definitely authentic all American grilling. They are so tasty. This is my new favorite place for wings and burgers!!! Very casual your typical neighborhood bar..

I was at keg south last night to watch game six of the finals. I have come here on many occasions and have enjoyed their burgers and beer. After the way I was treated by the bartender last night I am never going back again. This was a large bearded man with black hair, who was very rude to me when I asked for another beer. Not only did he take 20 minutes but I also saw he was being interrogated by the police. It all seemed like such a drama, and made this local bar very unenjoyable for us adults trying to watch the game. I suggest you keep the same menu but hire more professional employees. I have never experienced something so unprofessional in my life, nor have been treated with such a bitter demeanor by someone at a restaurant. Usually I get attended by the same short guy who is so sweet, I regularly tip him and I'm pretty satisfied by the way he attends and the kind attitude and work ethic he portrays. but today I was very disappointed and assume that the bearded man is a new employee, to all those reviewing this yelp, if you do go to kegs south avoid service from a big bearded man- the rudest and unprofessional. It all seemed like something hectic was going on and it showed in his attitude. Terrible service last night!

Went to this place in the hopes of discovering some place new that'd be close to home, had decent prices, and awesome wings. Everything we order tasted kinda dry & over cooked. It was ok. Was expecting a lot better after reading reviews about the wings. Gave it 3 starts because although you don't have a waiter (have to order at the bar) the bartender and staff were very friendly.

The original dive bar. Keg South has been here for as long as I can remember. Dark and Dingy with wooden walls plastered with photos (of a somewhat questionable nature) of South Florida They have always had a damn good burger, and have mastered the art of the grilled chicken wing as well. Sssh... The secret of their burgers is a spritz of Worcestershire Sauce. It keeps them at their amazing juiciness, with a hint of tangy flavor and caramelization from the sugars in the sauce. Another nostalgia spot for me, but still an old favorite.

Place used to be good/worthy. Menu hasnt changed, beer has changed. Too many other local options for me to go here now. If simple plain and boring is what you like this is your place. On a side note this place is great for sporting events. Probably on of the best in the area. Tons of TV's and hometown fans.

I previously have gone to the one in homestead and enjoyed it, and had a great experience. This one, I have not one good thing to say. Wings were completely burnt, I also ordered food to go and it wasn't how I asked. Had to get up to get my food and every little thing I needed. If this place is self-service, then it should be told as soon as you walk in. The cook had the nerve to tell me that they work off tips because he had seen that I did not tip. I did not tip for the reasons above. I should've given myself the tips if any where given because I was my own waitress. First and very last time I come here!

They actually recently had a Groupon for this specific Keg South. It was pay $10 for $20 lunch. This place is already cheap so I figured with this Groupon we will eat and drink like kings here. So I bought it just to give this place a try again and see if I could maybe give it a better review. We ordered a pitcher of Yuengling (it was kinda flat), 2 Keg Burgers (they were just OK) and a basket of french fries (they were whatever). There were only 4 of us in the vicinity, (my bf and me, the bartender, and a customer sitting at the bar) and we watched animals chasing other animals on the TV. Keg South needs to be Bar Rescued!

Having been to previous Keg South's we walked in with the intentions that it was the same as the others. Well.. that wasn't the case. The menu is much shorter and you have to go up to the bar to order your food. The burgers were beyond burned and tasted flavorless. The one good thing is the potato chips that come with the burger but I couldn't even take a third bite of mine. It is also a bit difficult to find if you haven't been before.

A great place for burgers, fresh cut fries and ambience. As someone wrote- the original dive bar and awesome. Great little out of the way hole in the walla with first rate burgers and fries. Have never asked for anything else and so do not know what else they offer but the burgers and fries are the reason to visit. Great biker bar type of atmosphere with pics of nude women posted up behind the bar. Really nice service and clean as well. Highly recommend. A memorable experience. There is another one at Kendall but it is just a regular restaurant.. this one has the flavor.

It was ok. Beers were super cheap and the atmosphere is, well, just not my scene. Decent burgers. Nothing amazing like some people claim. The lady behind the counter was a rude. Out of nowhere she technically ordered me to "go get Jeff outside and tell him I need him in here".. I just ignored her and looked fwd. to finishing my beer and leaving. Shady group of people in a corner. Don't much care for it and most certainly won't be coming back.
