Nothing fancy but a very good value. The staff is nice and the BBQ was tasty. I think it's a worth while visit if you're in the area

Worst ribs ever. Coleslaw was mediocre. Garlic toast tolerable, & the fried okra almost unrecognizable with heavy batter. Would never go to another Sonny's based on this one & certainly not here. We ordered the dry rub ribs for 2 with 2 sides & extra for okra. The first rib was so fatty I spit it out. The waitress happened by & when I ssid,"this is horrible" she explained that people ask for ends like that & that I should try the middle ribs. The beans were stone cold so she did take those & returned with hotter beans. It is very noisy. Very busy..guess some like it.

Seems like each time I visit Sonnys they slide further down the scale. Took a couple of road weary friends there for a quik dinner and I was embarrassed. The ribs were tough, dry, OLD, and the portions were small. They are still playing musical cornbread. The cornbread is different every time I visit. You'd think after all these years in business they'd know what works. The pulled chicken dinner was a mere spoonful! Couldn't fill a tooth cavity with that amount. Add the above to the less than stellar service and Sonny's is officially off my list of places to eat. FYI It was on a Sunday Eve, 7pm. Not crowded or busy. So where's the good BBQ? Over in Bama? Cause it ain't here!

Would never go back to Sonny's...for REAL BBQ - take yourselves and your your guests to Moe's in Orange Beach. Great flavor, generous portions and nice folks. They stick to recipes that work and keep you coming back for more.

All you can eat sliced brisket on Thursdays! Beans were OK, and the mac 'n cheese hit the spot. Wash it down with sweet tea and you are set! Our hostess and waitress, Roxie, was The sweetest little butterbean in the panhandle! 5 star BBQ only available in Texas, but this was good!

Went through drive thru to get my brisket fix. Ordered the lunch portion and got a disappointment I got three paper like thin pieces of brisket. I have had plenty of brisket around the U.S. and honestly it was a little stingy. They get three stars because it was good even though they don't include requested sauces. They give more at the Navy Blvd location.

Quality going down hill. :(. Sandwiches were not hot enough. Half the meat we normally get. Server asked, but didn't really care.

Coming at the noon hour, i didn't know quite what to expect. We were seated quickly, and the server was very helpful. Great Southern hospitality! Thanks, Cindy! (Server). Meal was above my expectations, and we all had plenty to eat. The prices were excellent for the quality, quantity and great service. I've bookmarked this place for a future visit.

Stopped in for a quick lunch while in the area on a road trip in the panhandle. In La Migra's world, brisket makes or breaks a BBQ business. I give Sonny's two stars. I ordered the brisket lunch special with the salad bar, Mac and cheese and fries, and the corn bread muffin. The salad bar was well stocked and clean, with fresh ingredients. Lunch arrived and the most appealing parts were the fries and Mac and cheese. The brisket was leathery and dry to the point that the first slice, without additional sauce, sucked the moisture right out of my mouth. The cord bread was only slightly better. Way better baba for the money out there.

We went to Pensacola labor day week. After 10 hour of driving, then a quick trip to the beach, we decided to just hit up a place near our motel to eat since we were getting pretty tired. Sonny's was right next to our hotel, so that made it convenient. Being from Memphis, I am somewhat critical of bbq, and to be honest wasn't expecting much out of it. Walking through the door, I was surprised to see a big dining area. I was sort of expecting an order at the counter type place. I ordered the pulled brisket. I have to say it was great. Our waitress was very nice, and even though she was very busy (while other staff seemed much slower), she was very sure to make sure we had everything we need and was very nice. When the food arrived, I loved the pulled brisket. It tasted much better than it looked. I tried my wife's sliced pork (for the first time, I have always had it pulled or chopped) and it was great. It was a great meal, and it happened to be kids eat free night, so bonus. They have a few different sauces on the table. i liked the smoke'n (I believe was the name of it, it was the hotter one). Prices were reasonable as well. Although I did not get it, they also have a salad bar.

Salad bar was decent. Turkey was average at best and ribs were ok. Mac and cheese tasted straight out of a package. Corn on the cob was mushy. I don't see what all the excitement is about this place. It was average. Logan's is better for ribs. The salad bar here was the only saving grace, but for over $3 to add it on ... I'd pass. Shame. Such potential. Also, overuse of the word y'all made my ears bleed.

For $7-8 you can get a sandwich of your choice with fries and a drink. They also have plates and daily specials. Being a Texan I have pretty high standards for bbq but thought it was pretty good. A spicier sauce would have gone a long way for me. I'd go back again.

Really good BBQ! Het the combo and split it with a friend so you can try everything. My favorites were the chicken and dry rub ribs. Not dairy free though; possibly the Sweet sauce?

You can't go wrong with the BBQ chicken. Try it with the sizzlin sweet sauce
