Reasonably priced and the food is awesome! We had a shrimp appetizer that was great. I had a chicken dish with angel hair pasta, mushrooms, tomatoes that was delicious.

When I crave Italian....I go here. Excellent food and service. The lobster ravioli, spaghetti n meatballs and OMG the lasagna.

Just to update a little. My household liked Patrella's a lot. Especially for a local Italian restaurant. But the last few times it just seems to have become rather pricey while at the same time we've noticed things becoming skimpy and/or less impressive. We don't really go very much anymore as a result.

Meatball sub was huge! Overall I'd give the place a 5 on a 10 scale.

When I called to Order a pizza and ask which is most like NY style, they tell me there is thin and crispy. Or hand tossed which is thick. I went with thin and crispy. Ever have matzoh pizza? It was thinner than flatbread and the "crust" was solid as a crouton and flavorless. The only saving grace was the sauce and cheese , which had flavor. We had gotten a chicken Parm hero in the past from here, which has great taste but was literally like 2 grilled chicken fingers total. You wanna use a big sounding Italian name, then go back to your roots and learn your food! I will stick to cooking at home. Sad. So sad. 2 stars for the sauce, and potential.

We had passed by Petrella's many times and had always planned to give it a try "someday". We finally stopped in and had an outstanding experience. The restaurant was crowded, and we had to wait about 25 minutes to get in. No problem though, as there were many places to sit outside while waiting, and the weather was very nice. Once we were seated, the waitress came by immediately and took our order. My wife had the Fettucine Alfredo, and I had the Spaghetti Marinara. Both entrées came with salad and garlic bread. Overall, the food is outstanding, the service is extraordinary, and the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to give Petrella's a try - worth the wait and highly recommended!

I've never had a bad meal/experience at Petrella's. If you like Prime RIb, you can't beat the Saturday night special Prime Rib 'N Pasta for $14.95, with au jus and horseradish dipping sauce on the side. They have other nightly specials, such as the Shrimp and Crab Ravioli I had tonight. All meals come with salad and garlic bread as well. 5***** Stars!

it was already packed when we got there at 4:30 on a Saturday, but we got a table very quickly. the decor is mediocre. if you are looking for fancy, skip this one. if you're looking for cheap, excellent, simple food that isn't loaded in salt, though, this is the place to be. the clientele some to be older, but that may be the hour we choose to go. service was swift and un-obtrusive. The only con I have (at this price-point, I feel like a heel for complaining) is that the wine-list is awful.

I guess it is about time that I did a review of this place, as we have eaten here several times over the last few years. This is a small place located in a strip mall, which usually means that it has really good Italian food. This place is just OK if you want a fairly quick meal and are in the area. I would not go out of my way to go here for a meal, While most items on the menu, taste pretty good the first time, I have found that when we eat here, both my wife and I have issues afterward. I think that they must use MSG in their sauces, as we are both sensitive to MSG. We do not seem to have this issue at other better Italian restaraunts. The prices are reasonable, but we have pretty much given up on eating here, due to the "after burn" of their food.

We've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food and the excellent waitstaff; however......I have to admit that the place is starting to become a bit shabby. My wife almost refuses to come here anymore because it is so dirty - especially the restrooms. Today, at lunch, I was the first person to use the men's room and I could see that it hadn't been cleaned since yesterday; It was completely out of towels, (had no blower for a backup), and the trash can was overflowing - disgusting. I hate to give in to my wife and stop coming here, but I can see her point. I give it five stars for value and food, but only one for it being dirty and shabby - for an average of three stars.

Don't bother going unless you're a regular or you will be there for hours. Apparently the waitresses think new customers time is not important. I went there at 1:30 pm and ordered the daily special. After I received my salad three men, ( regulars) by the way the waitress gushed over them came in and ordered. One ordered the daily special as well and he had received his food, paid and left by the time I received my order. I left at 2:50pm after not even finishing my meal because I was so upset. Yes, the food is good but the service is horrendous.

Great Italian food with generous portions. Not fancy... just very, very good food at reasonable prices. We go there several times a month and have never been disappointed. Worth the wait.

Great food, we dine in and take out. The Pasta Rustica is delicious, but I must warn it's quite oily (I still love it). The service is decent we have had both good and bad servers. The decor isn't very pleasing, which is probably why we mostly get it to go.

Such a great little restaurant! The seafood and pasta dishes are delicious. There are only about 60 seats but the food and device is quick.

I was amazed that the restaurant was packed on such a rainy evening but it was soon obvious why...the food was delicious!!! Four out of six in our group had the Trio Special and there were no complaints. I had the Eggplant Parmesan special and it was wonderful! I would recommend this place to friends.

This is the best Italian in North Pensacola. The staff is very welcoming and the food is always spot on. They have daily specials and you often see people waiting to get in. The portion sizes are large and there is no reason to walk away hungry. If you need a good Italian fix, try the lasagna and salad, paired with garlic bread and you cannot go wrong.

I had heard such good things about this restaurant and especially how they had an awesome white pizza. My daughter, grandson and myself got a take out order from there last night. I ordered a white pizza and received instead some kind of pizza with chicken, spinach and I don't know what. A big thumbs down on that. Also, I ordered an appetizer of crab cakes. I was looking forward to having those since the pizza was awful. The crab cakes were not even included in the food my daughter brought home. I paid for those crab cakes I never got to taste. I will never find out how those crab cakes would have been. I will never go there again. Huge THUMBS DOWN!

We make 2 or 3 trips to Pensacola every year and Petrella's is a favorite every time. We go mid-week to avoid the crowds. Everyone from the 1 year old to the Grandpa (me) come away happy and well filled. It's difficult to pick favorite dishes as we have varied tastes in our family. Servers are always friendly and helpful, tolerant of the little ones and the old joker as well. Despite the limited wine list we keep coming back and back again and again

I've had lasagna all over the world but this lasagna is crazy enough my fav!! I don't know how they make their sauce but it's crazy tomato sauce. They tell me you can buy just the sauce to add to your own recipe. Yes it's that amazing. Service leaves something to be desired and it does take a little while to get food to go but I'm assuming they make things to order as its a small mom & pop. Let me reiterate - get the lasagna!

This restaurant is in a Publix shopping center, that is across a corner from a Walgreen's. Our wait for seating on a Saturday evening was about 45 minutes. They don't take reservations. If they did I'd rate them four and a half. As it is, I give them a three and a half.

Went for the first time tonight, and was so disappointed. I got the veal Marsala and it was basically a plate of grease. Veal was poorly cooked and the mushrooms left something to be desired. The appetizer combo wasn't bad and probably the highlight of the meal. I guess I will continue looking for my go to Italian restaurant in pcola.

Shrimp Diavolvo flatbread appetizer was served hot, fresh and exactly as described, will order again. Sausage n mushroom pizza had plenty of mushrooms, a little light on the sausage, but again, hot, fresh and satisfying. Drinks stayed full, server was on point. Dining room was full by 6 PM with folks waiting to get in. Comfortable, clean and casual. Reasonable prices. Beer choices should be expanded to include some local selections. A nice place-recommended.

Still sort of new to the area and WOW - what a find! Cons 1st: It's relatively small, and it seems there's usually a wait. It seems every time we've sat in a corner booth, it takes an almost painfully long time for service. Pros: The food is OUTSTANDING! We've been all around Italy multiple times and in many US Italian restaurants. THIS FOOD IS LEGITIMATE! Meal for 2 w/ water & beer + tips = about $40. I like to order the trio combo with spinach ravioli, lasagna, and eggplant parmesean. Ice tea works for me. I think they have normal wine. If you're an elitist and need special Italian wine, you probably wouldn't be caught dead in a shopping center restaurant anyway. Summary: Wear your "Sans-a-belt" pants, wait for a table in the middle, order the trio, and be ready to ask for a take-home box.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
