As I've continued to visit this place about once monthly, I've noticed the orders take FOREVER to be ready (and I always get carry out and call ahead and sometimes, I still have to wait) and every time I walk in and I have to wait, I witness tables sitting there w/o any waitress/waiter attention. So, as other yelpers have noted, time waiting for food is long and I have a feeling dine in patrons can be neglected. Today, I got there about 3 mins early to pick up my food and the girl said "You'll have to wait a few minutes, I don't know where the cook went. Is that okay?" So I sat in my car at the drive through window another 10 mins. No, it's no really okay, but since I've already ordered and paid, I guess I'm waiting! I only really get one dish, the shrimp alfredo, and I feel like the taste of the alfredo sauce has decreased. It needs spices or something. Still, the people who work there and the owner are really nice. I would just plan extra time. And I wish there was more training offered to the employees on how to run the kitchen and dining room so people aren't neglected and so that food doesn't take forever. Oh, and for the shrimp alfredo and one order of six garlic knots, it was $22, which is definitely pricey for lunch. Perhaps they should offer smaller lunch portions with smaller prices too!

Little known place but better than any other Italian in town, with great service as well! Mike R was a great server, friendly and efficient. We could tell he was busy but he worked hard to please the customers, and more than succeeded. The food was exceptional, and the beer/wine specials sweetened everything even more! Thanks so much! Thur ~5:30 PM Manicotti & CYO Pizza

They closed the door and shut the light off as I walked up at 9:30. The website and the sign on the door both say the restaurant closes at 10.

Usually this place is ok. But TONIGHT, we've been waiting over an hour and a half to get our pizza. Never again will we order here. Terrible customer service.

I had the pleasure of dining at Paisano's tonight. We were a party of 9 (4 of which were children ranging 7-16 years old). Our waiter was Carlos and he was spot on, anticipating our every need. He carried out his duties with a gracious attitude. We ordered 2 items on the menu that we decided not to get after the chef informed us that it would be an hour wait due to the calamari and eggplant having just been delivered (we met the delivery truck in the parking lot when we arrived). However, everything we did order was superb!! Between everyone in our party we had house salad, Caesar salad, garlic knots, sausage pizza, pepperoni pizza, manicotti, chicken parmesan, sausage pepper and onion parmesan, bacon and sausage calzone (special order), cannoli, and zeppoles (?spelling). It was all excellent. I will say the garlic knots were mouth watering and delicious and the cannoli was hands down the best I have ever had. I have to add that our most attentive, but non-obtrusive or hovering waiter Carlos, has only been a waiter for 2 weeks. I was super impressed!! He is one of the best waiters I have every had. I can't wait for my next trip back to Pensacola so I can eat at Paisano's again.

This place is AMAZING. Everything about our visit perfect!! We were warmly greeted, our appetizer came out quickly and the rest of our meal was perfect. They even accommodated a silly request of mine for a beverage they keep in two liters for deliveries. I have a bit of a Mello Yellow addiction and they- without hesitation served the drink at our table. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant- they also have lunch specials & military discounts. Homemade dough & marinara!! We are not from the area but a two hour drive may be in our future to return! We ordered: *Garlic knots with marinara: so good!! *Veggie calzone: one of the best calzones I've had in a really long time! *Pizza: 1/2 meat 1/2 Hawaiian- the meat half was by far our favorite!! Hawaiian was great but their Italian sausage was a show stopper!! Thank you again, our visit was perfect!

The best part about this place is the staff. Our main waiter was Cody and another waiter came by as well, Carlos. was very friendly and nice. The music is also great! The food was okay, not bad but not spectacular. The booths need to be re-done. But overall the place is nice, casual atmosphere with great staff.

Don't let the decor fool you. This restaurant is definitely one you should visit. Most of what we tried seemed to be homemade, Which is always a plus. Our server was very kind and had some really good suggestions. Definitely a place you should try.

You know this place sucks when you have to microwave your shitty pizza as soon as you get it. My friend and I ordered a pizza and it didn't show up until an hour and a half later... Cold. We added Parmesan cheese to it because it was so gross. And we paid $21 for a large. What a waste of money. We both agreed we could buy a better margherita pizza at freaking Walmart in the freezer section. Stick to Domino's please.

Love this place! Food is great servers are very friendly! They have a drive thru for fast pick up and are staring delivery. Their portion size on the pasta is small. But the garlic knots and pizza are great! I did think it was a little pricey but was informed that the menu prices are going done! Great to hear that they are listening to customers.

I tried to give them a chance. Today I ordered the Sicilian pizza. They said it would be here in 30mins. 40mins later they call me to tell me that they don't have enough dough for the sicilian (different dough than normal pizza crust). It'll be another 30mins... One hour later and a total of 90mins from the initial call and the pizza was still not here so I had to call and cancel. I will never order from here again. THis isn't the first time and I don't know why they can never seem to get here in a reasonable time.

Best kept secret in Pensacola! My husband and I ordered a large calzone that was huge and tastes phenomenal . We couldn't finish it all but the chef still sent over an additional calzone and told us he thought this one looked better so we had lunch for the next day. Service was fast and friendly. Food is authentic and this is coming from my Italian husband! Great experience:)

The food is delicious. But not that many people in the restaurant when I was there, and I can see why. It's because the service was terrible. There weren't that many people working and it took 10 mins until we were able to order our drinks. Then on top of that, our refills took about another 10 mins until I had to get up myself and ask for refills.

Let me start off by saying we were the only two tables in the joint. We couldn't get our waitresses attention for nothing. My glass of wine was well below the bend of the glass, salad was amazing, garlic knots phenomenal but the pastas were garbage. No originality and straight out of the can/box. Meatballs tasted sour and the helping of spaghetti noodles was smaller than the salad portion. I did not get full. Also was extremely dry. I feel like if I'm going to pay for $15 worth of pasta there should at least be actual sauce on it. The noodles were all white and the meat was only stained red, no actual sauce. The chicken Alfredo was just as bad. I gave my first bad tip in my life and will never go back. Who knows maybe the pizza is amazing but the pastas were not. Ps: Don't look up.. Unless you want to stare at mold surrounding the cameras.

Food was good, however the service was unconscionably bad. Every non-seated table in our section was full of plates and food - a grave yard of sorts. It's sad because the interior of the restaurant was a notch or two above everywhere else in Pensacola, however the owner's lack of dedication to service overshadowed any positive that was experienced. I feel bad for the one, and only, waitress that had four tables at once in addition to the drive-through window. The two in the kitchen could have very easily thrown in some support and help either bus the tables or run the drive-through window. I'm not sure I'll go back.

Fabulous pizza-some of the best pizza we've ever had! Ordered take-out-meat lovers and a marguerita. The crust is obviously house-made-fresh basil and tomatoes . Service was friendly-pizza took a little long but next time we'll call ahead. And there will definitely be a next time! So nice to have such a great option besides "the chains!"

  • Jolene B.

Pizza was OK, it was over cooked. It doesn't have a distinct taste(sauce). I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if I was hungry and in the area I might decide to try their pasta instead.

As always..excellent pizza. Crust was thin, crispy and light. We always order the extra large because the slices are gigantic! Highly recommend this place!

Hard to beat great Italian from scratch..! Best deal around!! Yes - YOU MUST WAIT, Yes - There will be lines. Hmmmm - Must be a reason for that?!?. This is NOT "Fast Food", NOT some crappy "Chain" restaurant. If you want great food - Eat here! If you want the some-old, same-old, go somewhere else! This is the Real Deal here! Awesome!!

So we saw a Groupon for this place and then we looked it up here on Yelp. The reviews were ok nothing really bad about this place so we gave it a shot . We walked in and the place looked pretty empty so we were kinda scared. The hostess greeted us and sat us in our booth. Place is clean and nice looking . I thought it was kinda tacky that they had a really nice looking sweets display fridge but it was empty, come on now it's a Saturday night and the desserts I saw in the Yelp pictures looked good but oh well I guess. Anywho we ordered a 6 piece garlic knots that were good , nothing special but ok for a little appetizer . The pizza prices are really pricey if you ask me but I was curious to try a pizza from a wood fire oven . I got a small pizza with pepperoni , onions, shrooms and mozzarella and my husband got a large ham, pepperoni, and mozzarella . We totally got our sizes mixed up because the small I ordered was enough for the both of us . We looked like 2 fat asses with these big ole pies taking up most if our table. The pizzas were really really good . We were definitely pleased with our meal. Ingredients were fresh and if good quality not just a bunch of crap thrown on to make a quick pizza , it was definitely put together well . We decided we would come back when were in the mood for a good real pizza but next time just gonna order one small for the both of us to split.

I was not sure what to expect when I pulled up to the restaurant. It looked very new and there was barely anyone in the parking lot for a Friday night. We got in and were immediately greeted by a hostess who quickly showed us to a table. The booths are pretty nice because the backs to the chairs are much taller than what you normally see so it made it feel a little more private. We ordered garlic knots, ceasar salad, 18" create your own pizza, some wine and coffee. My wife said the coffee was a little watered down but I didn't go there for the coffee. My wife got a sampling of the wine but it was a very generous portion. The first thing to come out were our garlic knots and the only way to describe them was absolutely delicious. They were drizzled with butter, garlic and Parmesan cheese. Just order them. The Caesar salad came out and the dressing was amazing. My wife didn't even want to share with me. The pizza came out next and it looked pretty delicious. We served a slice and the cheese stretched a foot long just like the movies. The crust was thin and crispy just how I like it. The waitresses and hostesses are all very nice and friendly. I will come back again!

Good pizza. Make sure to ask exactly what you want down to the minute little details. Otherwise you will get the gods know what. Service is super slow. Probably due to their high turnover in waitstaff. Theres always some kind of crazyness going on with the owner and his staff. Or even his customers. Not somewhere Id take small children honestly. I find it entertaining but Ive seen people get kicked out for liking the wrong baseball team. Less entertaining is when people get kicked out for being black or dressed in a "gangster" look.

The only reason I hesitated giving this five stars is the price. It is the best pizza I've ever had though, so you could argue the price is worth it. It tastes exactly like it is from New York! The owner is the nicest guy ever and always makes sure everyone is happy and enjoying their food. I have no complaints about this place except it I'd rather difficult to afford.

I have driven past this place so often and told myself to try it - last week I finally did and was pleasantly surprised. My date and I decided to start out with the garlic knots (suggested by the server) and ordered the tomato basil pizza for our entree. The knots were incredibly tasty (doubtful that they are healthy) and the pizza was very flavorful. We both loved the meal and said we would be back. Note*** they only serve NY style pizza - the server told us someone requested Chicago deep dish and the owner said no! This is great for us since we like NY style better. The only negatives; there was only 1 server for a Thurs night (the other server must have been running late or something - we were there a little early) AND our server forgot an extra topping but I assume it was because she was so overworked. This place is ideal for large groups, date night and small dinners. The interior is sectioned off nicely to allow most types of dining.

Man, I wanted to like this place. The food - excellent. So try their drive through (seriously, amazing... a drive through for pizza). If this review was JUST about the food, I'd have given them a 5-star review. SO maybe your experience will be better. Go get some 5-star pizza! My main gripe is that we had lousy, annoying service. No one at the front to greet us. Had to walk to the counter and ask to be seated. Next - we had seen their TV ad saying "mention this ad and receive free garlic knots". No problem. We saw the ad. Mentioned it. First waitress says that we cannot have free garlic knots unless we order a pizza. Oh. Then we got a new waitress who had not talked to the first waitress. We tell her that we'll be ordering a pizza, so we'd like to have the free garlic knots. She says that the garlic knots aren't free with a pizza. I inform her about the TV ad. She finally agrees, and goes to put in the order. Then a guy (I assume the owner) sees our order on the computer, and questions the waitress as to why our garlic knots are free. She tells him that we saw the TV commercial. Mind you that this is being done loudly within ear shot of our table. The owner guy leans over a wall, and says "You saw my TV commercial?". We said yes. He says "OK, then who was making the pizza in the commercial?". Seriously? We are being quizzed now? We have no idea. There are three employees watching this interchange - a waitress calls out "Errr... wrong answer. No free rolls!". I realize this was supposed to be somewhat funny. And I'm sure this guy's staff thought it was hilarious. But for us as BRAND NEW customers, it was extremely uncomfortable - not only have we been thoroughly embarrassed about these stupid garlic knots, we have now been mocked by the entire staff. It just left me feeling like "I never want to come back to this place ever again". I'm really, really sorry to have to leave such a bad review. I would have LOVED to have given you guys a rating strictly based on your food - but you created such a negative impression on a first-time diner, that it really took the fun out of it. Just tried this place for the first time. We were trying to find a place convenient to both Downtown and NAS as we were meeting some folks. We were pleasantly surprised. We were able to feed our family of 5 with one XL pizza. It was great. Also tried the garlic bread knots as an appetizer, good also. We will definitely be back.

Don't look at the booths they need to be replaced badly, but they are comfortable. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. To look at the place from the outside you may choose to just drive by. But I highly recommend you stop by and give it a try I don't think you will be disappointed b

Great food! The meat lovers pizza was excellent--loaded with meat and cheese, and a crust brushed with garlic and spices. The penne with vodka cream sauce (a recent addition to the menu) was also really fresh and flavorful. The kids devoured the tasty garlic knots, and would have eaten the marinara dipping sauce straight if we'd let them. Only thing I'd pass on is the Caesar salad--it's sweet. Want to skip the wait? Go late! We arrived at 9:00 on a Friday night, and had the place to ourselves. We had an excellent waiter, and very fast service. A definite winner!

Doughy. Ugh. Poor service too. I am not sure why; however, the management is grossly indifferent to listening to problems we encountered. There will be no third strike. You're already out.

We tried Paisano's last Tuesday and really were blown away by the pizza. Other than Bagels del Sol, Pensacola did not have any authentic NY pie before Paisano's. The overall flavor profile is spot on ideal. It is so specific, and can't usually even be found in NY anymore. The reason we went on a Tuesday afternoon was that it wasn't crowded. If I was to go to a new restaurant on its first or second weekend in business, I might expect long waits. and a less than perfect experience. If they are only doing pizza at this time, it is almost impossible to serve a restaurant that large in a timely manner. In time having a full menu will solve the problem. I guess these review sites are the curse of the internet that a new independent family run place has to suffer from the judgement from jackals who would be better off eating chain food to begin with. In reality I would give Paisano's 4 stars(and seldom ever give five), but they deserve it here to countermand the hateful reviews on this nascent business, that if given a chance will become a Pensacola institution.

I have been hearing the commercials on the radio for this place for months and finally my kids said they wanted to try a different Italian place for pizza. Walked in the front door, was pleasantly surprised by the interior decor. I had 2 minutes of standing in the front door to admire and get annoyed by no one greeting us nor acknowledging our presence till we walked past the "Please wait here to be seated" sign. Other than the afore mentioned misstep by the staff, they were great. My daughter and son wanted to try their Stromboli, amazingly perfect crust on it. Overall, it was a perfect Stromboli in flavor and portion. I intend on going back and trying their chicken parmigiana.

If you like Italian food with the horrible attitude that claims to compare to 'NY Pizza'; this is the place for you. Being from the Tri-state area surrounding New York City, I was initially excited to get a taste home. I picked up the phone and proceeded to put in an order through a discontent, complacent, unprofessional employee who attempted to over sell me food I didn't want, all the while addressing me in a demeaning underlying tone. I guess this is what happens when a quasi-quality restaurant is placed around sub-par establishments. Better than is worst doesn't make it good. I'm sure not all the employees at this restaurant carry themselves that way, but that rotten apple certainly ruined the bunch. Nevertheless, I won't be returning until management seems to weed out this horrible trend of apathetic employees who aren't grateful enough to have jobs in today's economy and find ways to turn away business(which apparently isn't anything new if you've read previous posts). If I wanted service with demeaning atmosphere, I'd go to Paisano's Pizzeria.

We went on a Friday for lunch. It wasn't at all crowded and we were seated and our order was taken almost immediately. It took about 20-25 minutes for the pizza to arrive but we had salads so the wait didn't seem long. The waitress said our order was fast because we were about the first ones there. The pizza was called the "Altissimo" and we thought it was excellent! I'm originally from NJ and have been looking for a good North Eastern style pizza for the entire 30+ years that I've lived in Pensacola, and Paisano's finally gives it to me! My only complaint was the price; two small salads, a small (14") pizza, and two ice teas came to about $35, not counting tip. That's a bit too much for a pizza lunch in West Pensacola.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
