Cute restaurant, but I ordered my sandwich with no avocado and when it came out, it had avocado on it. So I had it sent back and when it came back out about a minute later, it was very obvious that they just scraped it off because there was still avocado on it! They were lucky I wasn't allergic to avocado....

What a great find! I was in Pensacola visiting family for a few days and happened upon this little gem. As others have mentioned, this is carry out only. Don't be fooled though! This is some of the most delicious carry out I have ever had. I walked in about 10 minutes before close, crossing my fingers that I could still get some food. To my surprise, the workers were more than happy to get my food (one of the entrees was a "cooked to order" entree). I had the shrimp jambalaya with braised cabbage and green beans. My father had the ribeye with braised cabbage and potatoes. The main dishes were very good, but the sides were even better. That was some of the greatest braised cabbage I've ever had! While you wait on your food to get packed, you can browse around the storefront. There are plenty of neat items, including recipe books, wine bottle stoppers, and all sorts of culinary treats in between. Next time I am in Pensacola I will make sure to get my shopping done at Apple Market and then head down the street to pick up a meal here!

I'm not sure why I didn't find this place earlier. I have been to Skopelos many times, but I have never noticed this place when driving down Scenic Highway. I think it has do with the curving Scenic Highway, and the trees blocking your view when coming from the West. I stopped by after work to pickup dinner for the family, since my wife was not in the weather for cooking. After receiving the phone call from my wife, I immediately asked the interweb for help, and I came to Nancy's as a result on my search. I decided to give it a try, so without any second thoughts, I zoomed in as soon as I could. The store is nicely decorated when I visited, but I do have a big complaint. The employees had this snooty "I'm better than you" mentality going on here. I just didn't feel welcome there when I visited. When I finally got home to savagely consume with the starving wife and kids, we could not get enough of the stuff. I got one of each entrée and 2 each of the same sides. After we finished dinner, we all agreed that this was the best takeout meal ever. Although, I did have to tell my wife about the poor service. Nancy's receives 5 stars for food quality, and 2 stars for service (because I feel generous). So, that averages to 3.5 stars, which will be rounded 4 stars.

Great food, and the menu changes frequently. Perfect for those nights when you're too tired to cook and want to eat a real meal at home!

After a long day of local adventures with my kids and my wife's parents in town we (my wife) did not feel like cooking so we decided take-out was our best option. We've driven by millions of times and never stopped by Nancy's Haute Affairs until now. We now know what we were missing and it was a LOT. Everyone in our family was happy, full and we now have a great option for the next time we (my wife) doesn't feel like cooking. The prices are very good (I don't think anyone's meal was over $10) and I ordered the crawfish casserole and it was amazing.

I love Nancy's! The food is delicious! The menu is always changing but every week there are delicious options. The portions are huge. The store is adorable to browse while waiting for your food. We like to pick up Nancy's take out and eat it along the bluffs on scenic highway.

I had the Blue Plate Special tonight with a dessert and it was less than $10! I did have to wait a few minutes to order and a few minutes for my food (it was 6 PM on a Friday) but there is plenty to mill around the other part of the store and view/taste while you wait without feeling in the way. It is an intimate setting. I was able to sample cookies, shortbreads, crackers, dips and honey! I was out the door in 20 minutes with a very tasty and ample portion of chicken cacciatore, pimento mac & smoked gouda cheese, collards and banana pudding. I will definitely return to try something different soon!

Great Gourmet Carryout! by Arnold Newton (19 reviews) Don't confuse this with a sit down restaurant, it is gourmet carryout only, although they have now added a few tables for eat in. They make absolutely wonderful meals that you can take home and enjoy. It is a great alternative to having to cook, or going out. We have been grabbing dinner here at least once a week now for several weeks, and have not had a bad meal yet. If you are in a hurry you can just grab the blue plate special, or you can call ahead for their weekly specials if you don't want to wait while they prepare it. The blue plate special includes two sides with the entree for a mere $6, while the specials are $10 with two sides. This is the best carry out in the Pensacola area without question. Just make sure that the food hasn't been sitting for a while. They tend to cook the food done, but if it sets on the buffet area for a long time, it will be over done and somewhat less moist and tasteful.

We returned to Nancy's the other night to try their "blue plate special" - I swear, it felt like I robbed the place because it was such a good deal! For $6, they handed me an amazing homemade chicken parmesan dinner, that included TWO side dishes! We added a yummy dessert, and could not have been happier! So for you mom's on the go, call ahead and go through the drive through to pickup dinner for the entire family. It is a great deal!

Nancy's is a little hard to spot coming from the west; my GPS navigator got it wrong, so here's the way: just when Cervantes turns north, start looking to your left. Nancy's is tucked back at 555 Scenic, facing East, so chances are you will only notice it when you are past it. Essentially when you are coming from the west, it's back-to-back with the "Scenic 90" Cafe, but it's much smaller than the cafe so it does not come out to the road (the parking lot does). If you miss it (as I did the first evening), you can always turn left on DeSoto. When I arrived, there were four young Navy guys in there, picking up their orders, one already eating his meal at one of the small tables outside the front door (it being January and a bit chilly that evening, these Navy guys are a hardy breed!), a woman at the display cases with her daughter making choices and a father picking up for his family. That's enough to make the place feel pretty full! It's lovely, but arranged sort of like a home-shop, with a variety of interesting goods placed together on a large table, and bookshelves with other interesting goods, and a separate room off to the left that seems mostly for arranging one's wedding catering. All of the "action" was around the front food display cases. The staff are friendly and capable, they banter and take requests for things you might like to buy there. The blue plate special is an excellent deal, the non-blue-plate entrees all look/sound enticing and the prices all look quite reasonable. The menu changes weekly and is posted on Mondays. There are six different sides from which to choose in any given week. Since we were feeding three people, we chose five of the six to taste-test (almost) everything. St Louis (cut) Pork Ribs: nicely done, not overcooked, but also not smoky in flavor; that last is not a shock if you don't have a smoker, but adding soaked wood chips in a smoker box might have been a nice touch -- perhaps not easy for the way the kitchen is set up (don't professional kitchens have vented "everything"? Even smoker-box "smoking" might be harder in a professional gas oven than in a grill at home, and certainly would be right out if one were preparing the other entrees in the same oven at the same time). Ample portions served (5-6 ribs per plate). Mac'n'cheese: an ultra-creamy, spicy version of mac'n'cheese. I was sort of alarmed by the creaminess and charmed by the spiciness, but that was the first side I tasted. That same spiciness turned out to be a common theme in almost all of the sides. Our youngster was not so pleased by this version of mac'n'cheese, and we went looking for a side dish that did not have cayenne as an ingredient. Mexican corn (AKA fiesta corn) -- that's mostly yellow corn with small pieces of red and green bell pepper mixed in. Surely we could get our son to eat that! But wait, there was that same spiciness that we found in the mac'n'cheese. The most likely two sides were "down," from a kid-eats-it point of view. Braised red cabbage with apple - my husband loved it, our son wouldn't go near it. Mashed potatoes -- were also spicy, what is going on?! Oven-roasted sweet potatoes -- seriously, a cleaned sweet potato, cut in half and roasted. No spices, no oils, no herbs, no apparent salt. Half a small sweet potato by itself, dry exterior skin and orange-colored roasted interior. Well, he did take a few bites of that. Dessert:: baklava - short version: sweet and tasting of cinnamon, but too soft at the top, almost dry at the bottom. Long version: There are many different kinds of baklava. Some use rosewater, some do not. This one didn't. Some use cinnamon, some do not. This one had a strong cinnamon component. Some are delightfully crisp on the top layers and soaked in nectar at the bottom. This one was soft and moist on the top and moist but not soaking anywhere through the rest of the layers, such that it did not hold together once fork-force was applied, but kind of crumbled apart. The bottom was particularly disturbing, it was almost dry. How do you get the fillo to NOT crisp up when you bake the baklava? I suspect this had been stored for some time, which allowed the top to regain moisture and pliability -- but is it possible to store it long enough for the bottom to dry?? I agree that this is a very good place for foodies to go in Pensacola, and it should be encouraged, but as one visitor mentioned, there's room for improvement. We will be back, we will be encouraging, and all of this is meant in that spirit: we love ya, Nancy's, but here are the areas that need a little tweaking: don't put cayenne in *all* of the sides (leave some that are tasty but cayenne-averse-kid-friendly). Don't store the baklava long enough for the top to go soft. Do make a small experiment with smokiness if you serve barbecue. If we didn't love ya, we wouldn't bother, but Nancy's is worth it, and we love having you in Pensacola

Great little place nestled along scenic highway. Its focus seems to be on gourmet sanwiches and entrees, but it also offered fresh baked bread, coffee/espresso, various spreads and dips, and some cheeses and wines However, it ultimately failed to meet my expectations. Allow me to elaborate: When it came to the extras (breads, cheeses, wines, etc) they were seriously lacking in variety. I saw maybe seven types of wine, four types of bread, and ten types of cheese. Why? Surely they could offer more variety and options. It's not a large place, but if they didn't waste so much time with those stupid place settings and other decor they would have plenty of room. Now, the entrees were apparently made to order rather then mass produced. Bravo. That fact alone gave me high hopes. However, I decided to go with a sandwich (BLT Foccacia). The quality of ingredients wasn't an issue, but the quanity certainly was. It needed about twice as much filling to make it what it should have been. Also, I could have used alot more of the homemade potato chips that came with it. In closing, it was worth checking out, but definetly has some room to grow.

Wow. This place is incredible. It is owned by a husband and wife of the Skopelos clan (and is right across from the restaurant). They must not have any say in the restaurant food, because the food here is amazing and is definitely catered to a more youthful crowd. It is a bright, light, airy store filled with goodies! Honeycomb, spreads, mustards, breads, wine, crackers, etc. They have a section devoted to wedding catering (place settings, menu selections, etc). And they have a VERY nice cheese selection. Some local cheeses from an Alberta farm, blue, gouda, brie, porter, Humboldt Fog, and the list goes on. They were also very open to cheese suggestions to order for the store- so if you have your fave that you just can't find- they can help you out. They have a case full of salads: tortellini, orzo, caprese, goodness- I can't remember them all! They also have an expansive sandwich list that pretty much would cover anyone's desire for any kind of sandwich. Everyone who worked there was super friendly and they happily gave samples of everything. I don't know how their wedding catering is. But based on how professionally the store is done, I would guess it would be superb. Their hours are also good: 7 am to 7 pm Mon-Sat. WHAT!?! In Pensacola? Crazy! You could swing by and pick up dinner. Their website is also VERY well done. Kudos over and over. I will definitely be back and I don't think I can single-handedly keep them in business (although I might try), so go check it out!

Very neat place. I've only been in Pensacola for a month, but this place is about as close to a "foodie place" as I've found. The variety is not huge, but the things they do have are super nice. A few highlights: -Locally roasted coffee from Twisted Canyon Coffee Roasters. Get a cup of a pound of whole beans -Carr Valley cheese from Wisconsin (as a WI native, awesome...) -Fresh baguettes, bread loaves, scones, muffins -Vermont cheese and butter There are samples of almost everything, and it's all pretty good. Only downfall is that it's not a very large place, so not room for tons of variety. Oh, and they gave me a recommendation on a local meat shop. They also have prepared food for lunch/dinner that looked really good, but I did not get a chance to try it.

Excellent food! Homemade chips with the sandwiches, amazing soups and excellent service! Wish they had a better seating area though. Love this place!

Nancy's Haute Affairs is a gem! I was elated to find this place after bitching for years about the sub-par culinary offerings of Pensacola. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by one night for dinner, and returned the next day with six friends in tow because we were so darn pleased with the food and the atmosphere. We and our friends loved it. Definitely a new favorite. Sorry, Four Winds!

I was a long time lover of Skopelos and so disappointed when they closed. I was very excited when I saw that their great food was still available through Nancy's Haute Affairs. I have taken advantage of the gourmet take out many, many times. Even if you don't see the sign out front that says "Gus is in the kitchen tonight" you can rely on an incredible meal. Judging from the quality of all my take out meals, I suspect Gus must be in the kitchen most of the time. I'm sure special events are a large part of their business now, but I would encourage you to take advantage of the every night convenience of their terrific gourmet take out foods. I just wait for the lamb shanks to appear on the menu, although it is certainly not the only thing I love. I have seen it happen too many times before. If we don't actively support those things/people that are so special to our community we will lose them. Go to Nancy's it is a win win no matter how you look at it. Steve Haworth

Love, love this place...a rare find in Pensacola. Great pastries and lattes, plan to have dinner or lunch there very soon. I've only been twice, but most recently I had a vanilla latte and brioche stuffed with scrambled egg and bacon which was really delicious.
