The absolute WORST 'mexican' food I've ever had in my life. The meat tasted like canned dog food. I ordered the fajita and it was a full priced fajita with the smallest portion I've ever had for this dish and it tasted terrible. Nothing here is fresh. Even my daughter who eats anything wouldn't touch the disgusting pile they tried to pass off as food. AVOID this place!

It was... Nasty. So very nasty. The Guac was sweet and acidic like they put lemonade in it. The Puff taco was soggy. And my chimichanga was gross. Just awful. Never ever again.

Best enchiladas I have ever had! Great tacos, nachos, and you have to get sopapillas for dessert! The staff is friendly. Miguel's has been a pensacola tradition for years. The grandfather opened taco house many ages ago. Same recipes.

Do not confuse this establishment with the one on 9 mile! yes they might have the same items but two totally different owners and styles of cooking....The prices are always affordable and I love their puff taco. My family has been going to Miguel's since I was a little girl. Order green chile as a side to add some spice to your food ;) since their food has to be geared towards general population tolerance of spice.

Margaritas were weak, I really don't think it had any alcohol in them. Good food was just average. I was tricked by the authentic part of the name, but this is as far as authentic as it gets. I guess it is ok for a quick bite but keep your expectations low. I tried it once and that will be it for me. You have a lot better options in the area.

I kept seeing the ads for Miguel's famous puffed tacos in bars all over Pensacola, so I thought I would stop in and check 'em out. The menu is pretty extensive, for a small place. There were several dishes that I have not seen on menus at local Mexican restaurants. Carne guisada comes to mind...can't remember the other things. The puffy tacos are...not what you would expect. They have sauce on 'em, which is okay, but it's not what I was expecting. Next time I'm going to get one "dry" and savor the crunchiness. The food is good and a good value. You can get tacos a la carte for (IIRC) $1.35 each. Other items are similarly reasonably-priced. I'd recommend Miguel's to anybody who like Mexican food and will return again, if I'm on the west side of Pcola.

If you want bland Mexican food with as little flavor as possible, Miguel's is the place to go! I got the puffy taco and my girlfriend got the chicken quesadillas, for an appetizer we had the regular yellow cheese dip. The only thing worth eating was the cheese dip. I'm pretty sure it was just cheese, refried beans, and their "taco sauce." The puffy taco was their "specialty", so I figured I'd give it a shot. The beef had little to no flavor, and it was covered in what they call "taco sauce" which I can only imagine is enchilada sauce from a can. Easily one of the worst things I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. My girlfriends chicken quesadilla was only slightly better because it had jalapenos in it to give it some flavor. The chicken looked and tasted like boiled chicken and had no flavor on its own. Anyway, if you want bad Mexican food, go here. If you want something with flavor, go anywhere else. Seriously, Taco Bell would be better.

Ate here because someone gave us a $15.00 gift certificate for it... The prices were right - cheap. I wasn't overly impressed with the food, but I wouldn't say that it was bad, either. Just average food. I thought it was weird that their "taquitos" on their menu are actually just soft tacos... The strawberry margarita tasted like Kool-Aid to me, and I'm not sure it actually contained any alcohol at all. I might go back in a pinch, but I'd prefer Vallartas anyday.

If I wanted to eat pepper I could just pour the shaker down my throat. It seems that that's all they did for spice! I ordered fajitas and could barely eat the dish. Also, the Spanish rice? Pepper, pepper, pepper. That's even for my kids' dishes too! It tasted nothing like Spanish rice should. Even the refried beans were a peppery mush. Spiciness should be from jalapenos and other such things, not just from a ground pepper shaker. The service was good and the coziness of the place is cute.

We absolutely love this place. The prices are great. Service has always been good. We drive to Pensacola just to eat there and go to Toys R Us.

Food lacks taste...I could make better at home. If I wasnt starving I'd walk out. .. However I will not waste my time and go back. The service is good though. The food. ..not worth it. Thier burrito...is a flour tortilla with chicken inside of it...nothing else and cheese on top. OHhhh...and you can't beat watching them put your food in the microwave...gross! I was shocked And I watched one of the waiters grab chips from a cooler with NO gloves and put in the warmer...WTF.

Change the name to Mike's vice Miguel's. Lose the 'Authentic' in the name and lets replace it with 'fusion' perhaps. A mix of horrible and disgusting sum up my opinion of the service and menu here. If you order a carne asada burrito be prepared to be served blocks of stew meat without seasoning, that resemble more of a sloppy, watery, flaccid enchilada. Expensive too, $42 for three burritos, one chicken quesadilla (watery and bland), and an order of flauta's (rolled, bland, dry meat stick). A culinary experience that brought me to a lonely uncomfortable place. Chef Ramsey where are you? Better yet, Ashton Kutcher you were absent for this weeks episode of PUNK'D.

I wish they would do half stars, because with rare exception, I don't think of many places as perfect. Their super puff taco dish is such an amazing delight, that it would be a runner up for a last meal. Its a huge deep fried flour tortilla shaped like a taco, stuffed with your choice of meat and covered in enchilada sauce and cheese, then baked. It is just cheesy saucy perfection. Original yellow cheese dip is awesome too.

Inexpensive, tasty food with good service. Try out the new bar - cold beer, wine, margaritas!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
