This is one of the places I truly miss! I go here and get some food every time I am in town. It's small and simple but that's what makes it good. You get a ton of food for the price. I wish there was something on par with this place in Cali :(

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant was a popular stop during our stay in Pensacola. We found it using Yelp and weren't disappointed. If you're heading over to Chen's for a sit-down dinner... don't have very high expectations for the dining experience. The place is primarily carry-out. The "dining area" is a small brightly lit after-thought, interrupted by a constant stream of happy repeat customers walking in to pick-up their orders. The reason to order / eat at Chen's is the food, which is good. I had a chicken dish and some egg drop soup (two different occasions). Supposedly the General Tso's tofu dinner is very good (it was ordered twice, the second time with extra tofu). Even the lo mein noodles were given high-marks (by the five year old). Good Chinese food at low prices. My only complaint was that the drink options were scant... probably because 9 out of 10 people were ordering carry-out.

Little hole in the wall, convenient for me. They have very good beef low mein. Not many Chinese restaurants in P'cola have it on the menu. The interior is sparse, so I always order take out. My order is always ready with 10 minutes of calling.

We love the General Tso's Chicken. It does get a little confusing because they have different sizes and I usually figure it out when I get home. The family enjoys the food.

They don't deliver to EITHER military base in the biggest navy town in Florida. Can't judge the food quality because I can't even eat it! Not cool. Guess this is what I get for my service....

Small little Asian tucked inside the intersections of Langley and 9th. Very delicious. HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for good Chinese take out. I've lived in Pensacola for 10 years and it's the best Chinese in town.

I ordered the Hunan Chicken combo for dinner. The rice was pretty dry and the grains were broken up, but the entree itself was pretty tasty. I definitely like No 1. Chinese better though for their flavor, so I'll make the drive out there the next time I crave takeout.

Decent prices, decent portions, nice service, delivery is pretty fast and the good arrives hot! Occasionally we will pick up dinner, the food was extra fresh tonight. Springrolls are meh, egg rolls are meh, don't bother with the fried rice, however, the garlic chicken, won ton soup (large is only $2.75), Mongolian beef and shrimp and snow peas are tasty. I wish they carried crispy beef or sautéed green beans. I could be easily persuaded to try another place, but Chen's is consistently fresh and fast. If I could give a 3.5, I would.

Great food at wonderful prices. Their small is good for 1-2 people. The large serving is good for a whole family. My dad swears that the wontons in garlic sauce are the best ever. Probably some of the best veggie lo mein I've ever had! The place is clean and everything is made fresh to order.

Chen's is by far the best Chinese restaurant in town. The food is excellent. The owners are incredibly nice. They are willing to customize your food to your exact specifications. I've been eating here since they opened. I will never eat Chinese at another restaurant in town! There are also lots of veggie/vegan options!

TERRIBLE!!!! Worst food ever! Veggies not cooked. Everything tasted like old grease. Fried rice was simply disgusting! Won't give them a second chance... ever... it was that bad!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
