We dropped in several times last year. Today (a Tuesday) we dropped in for "all you can eat" pork and chicken platter day, which apparently happens on Wednesdays as well. Can't complain about a damn thing. I don't usually go for pulled pork as it is often over-sweetened with some dreadful sauce; I rarely order chicken when out; I constantly avoid awful coleslaw which is ruined by too much mayo and shows no imagination. And beans?? When was the last time you had real beans??!! So you wanna rectify all these problems??? Go to Brothers-- fabulous pulled pork and BBQ chicken and beans (I'm just now thinking of those beans three months later. Thinking about beans you say? Yup. They must have been good!!) all on one plate, with a side of real coleslaw- cool, not too sweet and with at least one secret ingredient just to elevate it above the usual rubbish (apple cider??). Good quick friendly service as well. And all this for $9.99. For that price we should be helping with the dishes. I sure should- I think the last visit I had three helpings (a big guy beside me did the same, so I didn't feel ashamed). This place is the real thing.

Excellent! Best barbecue anywhere. Friendly, kid friendly, outside tables. Meat is cooked right out the front door.

I ate lunch at Brother's on a Friday and was pretty disappointed considering the delicious smells coming out of the smoker. I ordered brisket with french fries and cole slaw. The waitress told me the brisket was her favorite, and the cole slaw was home made, but the fries were not. I figured two out of three wasn't bad. Unfortunately the fries (which came out a few minutes after the rest of meal) ended up being the saving grace of my lunch. First off, the portions tiny. My brisket came out with a piece of toasted sandwich bread and it was big enough to eclipse all the meat. The flavor of the meat was bland, and the texture was chewy. I ate better brisket at chain bbq joint a week prior to this, and for less money. Next, the cole slaw was gross. The cabbage was dark green, limp, and soggy. It gave the impression that it had been made at least several days prior. I couldn't stand to eat more than a few bites because I was worried it was passed its prime. Save yourself some disappointment and go to Sonny's. It's not much better, but it costs less and has better portion control.

We got a pound of pulled pork,a half rack of ribs, and 2 mediium sides for $45..a little pricey in my opinion. Thought for those kinds of prices this better be some out standing bbq. Well it wasn't..pretty much had no taste at all..I wouldn't recommend this restaraunt too expensive for a mediocre meal ..save your money

Excellent! And they're open seven days a week! I suggest you go there on Mondays... I got 2 pulled pork sandwiches and a side dish (Brunswick stew) for just $7.99. Its a great deal and they serve awesome, meaty sandwiches.

Saddened by our night here. Came last summer and felt like it was amazing. Wife had the riblet special, and meat was so charred and tough that it was barely edible. My brisket platter was unbelievably dry. Server never came back after delivering our food - couldnt even get a refill on my iced tea. Would be 1 star except for the beans. We decided to not go back.

One of the best bbq places south of the Carolinas! Having grown up in the Carolinas, I love bbq. Have tried them all. I have tried bbq all up and down the east coast and as far west as Texas. This bbq place has the best Carolina style bbq I have ever tasted. One of my top tens for sure. You always can tell a great bbq place by the smoker out front, and the small country style restaurant building.

Very good BBQ A little pricey for the stuff you get there However, I swing by once a month or so a grabbed whatever smoked fish they have on special. They give it to you pre cooked and frozen so all you have to do is thaw it out and throw it in the oven. It is always so good and very reasonable.

One star for service...salty watery slaw..day old dry very dry reheated chicken..employees not to happy to see customers.overpriced platters..as if they are compensating for food and atmosphere.will not eat there again..to many places are thankful for our patronage. Where we don't mind spending our money for quality food and service....

We stopped in this evening around 8pm for the BOGO Monday special as take out. Got home to discover that half the meat in my sandwich was some sort of connective tissue that I could hardly pull apart. It immediately turned my stomach and I couldn't finish my dinner. Gross! Makes me wonder if this is the result of their *special*...odds and ends?yuk This is the second time we've tried the food here and the second time we have felt like we've just tossed money out the window. Really unhappy with the food and will not go back! The coleslaw is just WEIRD...almost salty. To bad..it always smells so good driving by..but it's BBQ.. don't be fooled. .. it's not that great and owners SHOULD care about the quality of their food that customers spend hard earned money on.

I am new here in Pensacola and have driven by Brothers a few times. Always smells heavenly when they have the smoker going. Decided to stop by and get a slab of ribs to go. It ended up costing me $27 or so. Way too much for ribs that were not all that impressive. When I spend that much for ribs (and I never have before) I expect them to be falling off the bone tender. These were not. I have had some pretty fantastic ribs for a way more reasonable price. Will not likely be back, and if I do return it won't be for the ribs.

Average BBQ.. Really good beans and Mac and Cheese. Lemon Pie was Soooo Good and fresh!

This place has really gone down hill. Came here a year ago, great experience. Now, however, they've lost whatever they had. They were out of almost everything we asked for. My gf ordered pie and pudding for dinner and they didn't bother to tell her they had neither until after they brought all of our food. Of the top 5 worst donning experiences I've had in Pensacola this might be the worst.

Great little BBQ spot in West Pensacola that has some killer BBQ. I had the chicken sandwich and a side order of the potato salad. The service was on top of their game and they young lady at the front counter was very helpful. This place may be a bit out of the way, but well worth the drive!

I grew up in Texas where I worked at a BBQ restaurant so I consider my self a BBQ expert. This place as exceeded my expectations on almost every level. The potato salad, coleslaw and Mac n cheese could be better. But as a man I come for the meat which is amazing!!

We enjoy getting take out from here. We have had the pulled pork and brisket. Both were great! The BBQ sauce has flavor and they don't skimp on the portions.

They were suposed to give me a pork and a chicken sandwich. I got two pork. They did however say I could get my chicken sandwich for free next time I came in. beans weren't that good. Fries were cold. The sandwich its self tasted good but a little dry. The homemade lemon pie was just to die for. If they had put as much energy into the bbq as they did they pie well it would be like heaven well close enough. It was clean and has a nice atmosphere. Beautiful places outside and inside to eat. Polite staff and nice, quick service. All and all not to bad, but not great. I also order the stuffed potatoe skins with chicken, sauce and cheese mine had no cheese.

Mediocre bbq. Great staff. Was disappointed the food was no where near what we expected, but being from the south I am pretty picky with my bbq expectations. Clean and nice environment.

Stopped by here based on a recommendation and got some takeout. I ordered a full rack of ribs and a pulled pork sandwich. Both were average, ribs borderline below average -- I've made better ribs myself and I'm no expert. The service was excellent -- the staff was friendly and nice, and food was ready quickly. Unfortunately the food was subpar, especially considering the prices. Will not come back unless somebody else is paying.

Brothers BBQ fill some big shoes at this location, once held by Cactus Flower California/Mexican restaurant. Do they stand a chance, well yes all business do, and hopefully the more items on the menu I try, the more ill like and learn what and what not to order. Point being, I ordered a half slab of ribs, BBQ beans and coleslaw. This was enough for two. The ribs were meaty and wet, even though I prefer a dry rub, these were quite good. Now only to my chagrin, had I studied the menu, I could of gotten a 1/2 Family Special for $24.99, a mere $2.00 more. In the family special, you will get 1/2 Slab Ribs, 1/2 pound Pork, 1/2 Chicken, pint of baked beans, pint of cole slaw, and 1/2 loaf of Texas Toast. Kinda immense from my order (although it wasn't puny) there isn't that substantial price point and yes I kinda felt ripped off. But, had I ordered it, I'd be eating for three days. I do look forward to going back there, the service was stellar and quick, the food was good and well the prices are standard. Is it a solid four star? No, not yet, but their headed in the right direction.

This is a little mom and pops BBQ joint. The inside is pretty small but they have plenty of tables. We sat outside under the big tree. It was nice and breezy. We watched them take out the meats from the slow cookers. The customer service was fantastic. We were worried they might forget about us since we were the only ones outside but they didn't. The food was amazing. My husband had the ribs and I had the brisket. By far some of the best BBQ we ever had. The mac n cheese was really yummy as well as the potato salad. My daughter liked her hot dog as well. I was really impressed with this place.

Very tangy taste, takes awhile to get into it. Good smoke flavor brisket, so so on the ribs. Not a convenient location for restaurant, but eccentric for bbq. Daily homemade banana pudding, too much breading tho. Will visit again.

Some of the best BBQ in the area. Definitely better than the chain BBQ places. Their sauce is top notch! They have excellent specials (AYCE, BOGO, etc.) Small place so you may have to wait, but it's worth it.

I stopped by for the $8 buy one get one pulled pork sandwich. Hokey cow this is the best bbq pulled pork I've ever had and very affordable too! Staff was extremely courteous and I'll definitely return soon!

Fourth time I've been each time excited about the rib sandwich. Only 1/2 of the time have I had the ribs like the first time. No longer are they the dinosaur ribs. Disappointed but may give them one more go.

Very good. I've had better but I'm happy bbq this good is so close to my house. My combo meal was like 16 bucks but I got a to-go box full of meat and the 2 micro sides others described. All of the meat was great. Ask for extra sauce though because I wish I had more, especially for the pulled pork. The mac and cheese was awesome but the collard greens were bland.

Now this BBQ is close to very good. Best I've had in Pensacola. Real wood smoked meats everything simple, homemade pies excellent I'll be back!

We've driven by this place a few times, the smoke smells amazing as you walk in. We ordered the pulled pork and the brisket sandwich. The pulled pork was average at best and the brisket tasted like meat at the chow hall. I was awarded about 4 or 5 slices of the brisket, not the best portion size. The bun was typical, prepackaged from a grociery store. The french fries were obviously from a frozen bag before cooking. The cole slaw tasted like mayo spun up with a bunch of veggies. Overall this place would have been OK if it wouldn't have cost 24 dollars for that "I just ate at McDonalds" feeling. I feel like complete crap right now, on to a food coma for me.

First visit and ordered a carry out 1/2 family pack. Much of the spare rib meat was tough and without the sauce would gave had little taste. Some of the rib meat is tender but the outside is very hard to chew. Cole slaw was fair. Baked beans with shredded meat was just fair. 6 hamburger buns in a bag for the pulled pork. Did not eat any of the pulled pork yet but will make sandwiches tonight.....with lots of sauce. Chicken skin was dried out but the meat was good...but did not taste smoked. I won't be going back except to buy a bottle of their sauce.....very tasty. Very nice people. They greet you as soon as you walk in. In all fairness, maybe we will visit ONE MORE TIME. If disappointed again....goodbye. Good luck you guys.....maybe get some advice from a grill master from well-known BBQ place.

Almost didn't go to Brother's after reading a lot of negative reviews, that would have been a mistake on my part, their BBQ is great! We got take out the 1/2 Family Special and we were very pleased with our meal. To begin with, despite being busy, we had very friendly service. They serve a dry - sauce it to your liking - style of BBQ. The sauce has a tangy vinegar and herb taste, it's not sweet/sticky sauce that some folks prefer, which may be why they received negative reviews. The baked beans are absolutely awesome, they are lightly sweetened and have bits of pork and onion mixed in for flavor. My two year old son had 2 helpings. If Brother's keeps it consistent we will be regular customers.

We visited Brothers BBQ for lunch yesterday. The inside of the restaurant was fresh and clean. The service was wonderful and we felt very welcomed when we walked into the door. I had the pork platter and it was delicious. It had a great smoky flavor. My husband had the ribs and really enjoyed them. We have become BBQ snobs since living in Texas, but we would definitely and we plan to come back and eat at Brothers BBQ!

This place is delicious. I'm hungry before I even walk in the door. The smell of the cooking meat outside makes my mouth water even while leaving the tiny building that is Brothers BBQ. At first look the restaurant looks more like a small house than place for tasty bbq. So it's easy to just blow it off as a crumby hole in the wall establishment. However, once you walk up those few steps outside and into the porch the homey feel definitely adds to the charm. The dining area is small it can probably seat 40 customers, give our take. The staff is friendly and talkative and always great you with a smile and some sort of salutation. Now for tthe important stuff, the food. For entrees so far I've only had the pork sandwich. The meat tastes Smokey and it's tender. My only complaints are that: I find their sauce to be a little too runny but it has a decent flavor, and that they don't garnish the sandwich with slaw or pickles or anything. The sandwich almost always fills me up before I can even eat one of ttheir yummy sides. Speaking of sides the baked beans are delicious. I think depending on when you go determines the viscosity of the beans though. On some occasions they come out in juice/sauce that is a bit thicker than others. However I have yet to be dissappointed by the taste. Their coleslaw is pretty good too. It's not sweet like KFC coleslaw. The fries, well not much to say about them, they're fries. However, if you like chili fries, you NEED to try their Texas fries. Not spicy/hot like chili fries but loaded with flavor. In conclusion, Brother's BBQ is delicious. I think they still have some work to do and I would rate them 4.5 out of 5 (but since I can't do halves I'll round up). I find this place to be far superior to Sonny's BBQ. I mean come on, BBQ is not supposed to be drive-thru. Can't wait to go back to Brother's. Extra notes: open until 8pm on Friday night's (not sure the rest of the hours) and they offer a military discount.

The yummy smoky smell drifting down Gulf Beach drives me crazy every time I drive past, so we stopped in for dinner the other night. The BBQ was delicious: we tasted pulled pork, smoked chicken leg quarters, smoked brisket, sausage, mac & cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, collard greens, and Texas toast. It was all awesome. The meats were all tender and flavorful, the sauce was tangy and spicy and perfect, and the sides were delicious. The portion sizes, however, are STUPIDLY small. We initially asked for the family combo others had mentioned, but we despise baked beans and they flatly refused to sub ANY other side for the baked beans. The girl taking our order suggested two individual combo meals, so we went with that. So disappointing. The chicken leg quarters looked more like quail. The single piece of sausage was 4 inches long...yeah, I know, that's what she said, and that's about how disappointing it was. There were five small pieces of brisket, totaling a chunk of meat smaller than a deck of playing cards. All of the sides were in teeny-tiny little styrofoam containers and weren't even filled to the top, so MAYBE 1/4 cup of each side dish. And it's STUPIDLY overpriced for the tiny amount of food they serve. That family combo pack is now $30, not the $25 some of the other reviewers cited, and our two individual combos totaled $35 without drinks. Apparently they do meat by the pound, but I'm not sure how worthwhile of a deal that'll be. I have worked in the restaurant industry since I was 14, and it's blatantly obvious when owners are more concerned with profit than anything else. Unfortunately, that rarely works out well for the restaurant. :(

We smelled the Smokey meat a mile before we got there and our mouths were watering. I ordered the lunch special which was riblets and a side for $5.99. There was too much to finish. The sauce was great. I had collard greens for the first time in my life and they were delicious! My husband had melt in your mouth brisket which was so good we stopped on the way out to compliment the chief at the smoker. The best meal we had in Pensacola this week!

I had high hopes for this little local place. It smelled great walking in, but we were severely disappointed with the food. The ribs had no taste. The sauce was great but the meat itself had no taste and way too much fat on the bone. The baked beans were bad seeing as how it was mixed with meat and chick peas. The chicken and brisket were both dry/over cooked/ left out too long before being served. The only good food were the collared greens and Mac and cheese. I will never return to this restaurant.

If you are going to just make watered down pork and sprinkle it with BBQ sauce then you should advertise that on the menu. What restaurant do you know has paper menus that are the size of placemats and you don't keep them? The sweet tea needed some intensive care and a little less water and more sweet. If there is a water shortage in pensacola then I know where the culprit is. The kitchen is 20 steps away from the dining area, and jack snow must be standing in between because everyone's food was cold. My stomach is upset with me, stay way until they figure this thing out.

First time visit last eve and was extremely impressed. Wife and I ordered the beef ribs and pulled pork along with sides of beans, cole slaw, brunswick stew and potatoe salad. all of which hit the mark for taste and portion The pulled pork served was quite ample and my 3 rib 8 inch bone long order was grilled to perfection. The really treat was the sauce,...OUTSTANDING!! Destiny was our waitress and very polite, once she catches on to refill our glasses without us asking she'll have it down. Also the dining area is shiny and clean. We definitely will be back again.
