We recently had lunch at The Island with the in laws. Service was fast and friendly and our meals were quite good. When we first arrived we had trouble finding anyone to seat us but the restaurant was empty. It quickly started to fill and it appeared that issue resolved. Two in our party had the coconut shrimp which they enjoyed. They had an extensive kids menu, crayons available in bamboo holders and coloring books if you're bringing the littles. I had the Mango Mahi with jasmine rice which was quite good. Hubby had the fried shrimp which he said was good. Overall it was a good experience, solid food for Palatka just need to work on the atmosphere a bit. They've really done a good job with the decor and server was excellent. We would definitely try it again.

Yelp apparently hasn't figured it out yet, but THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT Blue Water Bay. Hasn't been since mid 2013. It isn't even HARD DOCK CAFE anymore (which is what is was after Blue Water Bay). Although I think the owner is the same as Hard Dock, definitely different owner than Blue Water Bay. New name is (June 2014): THE ISLAND. Caribbean flair to the cuisine. Pretty good. My Mango Mahi was delicious but a little over cooked. Key Lime pie had no bite to it. Service was okay, but not very attentive and a bit slow for how busy they were.

Im sure the food is wonderful, or so we've heard, but the hours on yelp are not accurate. We tried to go yesterday for lunch, but they are closed Mondays. Here is a link to their Facebook page, which is more accurate. m.facebook.com/theisland…

Not very appealing as the manager was a smoker...place was empty at 6:30 and they wouldn't accept the Yelp deal....I paid 10 for 20 off and got 10 off no free dessert even though Yelp had a deal. Do not recommend

Had lunch today. Service was very good. I had the fried fish sandwich and sweet potato fries. All was to my liking. I will visit again.
