Yum Yum Yum. This place has a good assortment of tex-mex dishes, and feel free to add one of their dozen or so choices of hot sauces. It's sort of fast food since it's quick, but it's a nice enough place to go for lunch and you don't feel like you're at McDonald's. They serve beer and have some great happy hour specials. I'll be coming back!

I always have to stop by Tijuana when I'm in town. This local hot spot has something for everyone. Although it's fast food tex-mex, it's totally the place to be. The food is simple and always good, and they have a hot sauce bar for the more adventurous patrons. I went there every other Friday for nearly three years, and i feel like the hot sauce bar was different every time. What makes this place so special is the atmosphere. It's a community hang out, not just for the college kids. Although we did enjoy the bucket beers and 3.99 all you can eat chips and dip (comes with the best queso dip, and decent salsa and guacamole). There's nothing like finishing off a few buckets of beer with friends at the tables in front of the restaurant. It's the perfect place to relax and catch up. We need a Tijuana in SF.

I really like t-flats, they have good food for being inexpensive. quick, easy, clean place. I love the Blackened chicken.

Ultimate Nachos with refried beans and Sweet Chili sauce from the bar. Never any need to order anything else cause that rules. It's too big for one person.

This is your quick service casual Tex Mex place. Except everything is fresh, perfectly seasoned, and good tasting. Oh, and just plain friendly waitstaff. I get pulled pork tacos, fresh brewed iced tea, comes w fresh fried chips. Then you can go next door to Meunchies for an ice cream bar w fresh fruit, chocolate chips, etc or to Whole Foods for groceries for dinner... Enjoy!

The Good: Everything! I give this place 5 stars because in the fast-food industry, this is as good as it gets. [1] I am absolutely addicted to their Flautas. It was the thing I was least compelled to order off the menu, but somehow, I stumbled into it and fell in love. Fresh fluffy crispy flour surrounding meat or black beans and all the dipping sauces and toppings necessary to make this your dream dish. [2] The funny bumper sticker wall is entertaining enough to keep your mind occupied while you wait for the food, if there is much of a wait. [3] The atmosphere is funky, laid back, and happy. [4] The place seems to have "team customer service". There are maybe 4 folks who check on all the tables, so nobody is assigned to one server. And no tipping necessary. [5] Their "sauce bar" allows you to choose your poison by sampling anywhere from mild to radioactive temperatured sauces in varying flavors. The Bad: [1] It can get a little loud in there, so don't go on an intimate date or anything. Go with a bunch of loud friends who are comfy with each other and just wanna have a good time. The Ugly: [1] I'm always constipated afterwards. Mmm, sexy.

Tijuana Flats is the first mexican restaurant that I have left satisfied. There burritos, enchiladas, etc. are as tasty as they are large - and that is saying something! If you are a lover of spicy food, there is a humungous hot sauce bar that will not disappoint even the most die-hard of hot sauce fans. Even if you have never liked mexican food before, you should give Tijuana Flats a try. If you do like mexican food? You've just found a match made in heaven.

Any day of the week for lunch or dinner I would go. They have great Taco deals on Tues., but they have great food on the menu and I have tried just about everything . I have had only good service weather I am eating in calling in or taking out. The managers are always attentive to ask how things are and you never have to wait for your server if you run out of beverage you can go up to the counter and they will fill it right then. Now the sauce bar OMG they have every range from ahhhh to my mouth is on fire OMG!!! So are sweet and it all started with "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally" the first sauce. Try it they have many locations and most that I have been to are this great.

Love the nachos here! Way too much for one person though. The atmosphere is fun and funky. The staff is friendly. Would probably go more often if they had outdoor seating that wasn't facing a parking lot. And, yes, it's not true Tex-Mex. So what? It's still good food! Do be careful with the hot sauces! The warnings they post are not meant to be funny. They're dead serious. My dear hubbie thought he was going into cardiac arrest after being a little too adventurous and trying one of the flamin' sauces.

I have been to more than one location around town and this location most recently. Tijuana Flats is average at best. It has a fun environment and cool set up of order at the counter, get your hot sauces ready then your food is brought out to you. The food is warm and the meats and sauces good, but overall there is much better Mexican food out there.

This was amongst the very first places i ever ate in Orlando, and to this day it is my favorite place to get mexican food in Orlando. I love the assortment of Hot sauces that you can try for free in the restaurant that go great with their Chimichangas, burritos, fajitas or whatever you fancy. Their sauces have colorful names and range from almost sweet to the kind that will give you first degree burns on your fingers if you touch it, forget about putting it in your mouth. I used to frequent this location quite a bit as i lived a few minutes from it. The thing i liked most about this one is that its spacious as hell and there is adequate seating outside as well. It also serves as a great place for a lazy lunch on the weekend.

The food is good. This is very casual and fun. Just hang out have some beer and tacos. the kids meals are great they came out on a frisbee for the kids to take home. My favorite is the sauce bar. And all they crazy names they have for them.

Delicious food but nothing special. It's your typical Tex Mex food. Portions were fairly big though so I'm okay with it. The jalapenos were the type that creep up and ignite your mouth into a napalm filled hellfire.

Can I just say I miss this place every week when thinking about Orlando!!!! The taco salad was so perfect and those chips! I liked the hot sauce bar also! I highly recommend this hole in the wall!

With their lizard and monster-themed murals, alternative music, and big buckets of beer, Tijuana Flats is my favorite place to go in Orlando for Mexican food. They are the people who came up the "Slap my Ass and Call me Sally" hot sauces, and they tote themselves as hot sauce aficionados. And it's true, you can get tons of different hot sauces here. They have probably a 100 different bottles you can buy. If you just want to have fun tasting different sauces, there is a hot sauce bar (free! and you can take the sauces to go!), where you can sample 10-12 sauces that range from sweet and mild to o-so-spicy. Always fun, always yummy, and always have great sauces. They have a lot of locations around Orlando, but this one and the one downtown are my two favorites.

Tijuana Flats is delicious and this location is wonderful. The UCF Area is known for packed and crowded restaurants from the sheer number of students and this Tijuana is just hidden away enough to avoid all of that chaos. The staff are very attentive and constantly cleaning up tables, which means that you won't have your arm in someone else's leftover hot sauce or cheese. This is a huge plus for me! They are always willing to grab you another refill or a basket of extra chips. My favorite is Taco Tuesday - it's an unbeatable deal. However, don't shy away from their "Thursdaze" special either because they're burritos are fantastic and the deal is equally as good! If you're in the area, definitely stop here for a quick bite to eat. You will not be disappointed!

I love Tijuana Flats and frequent the one local to me in Tampa. While avoiding traffic on I-4 via FL417, we figured this would be a better stop than the typical fast food place. The parking lot was a mess with no parking spaces, yet the restaurant was nearly empty. We were helped quickly, yet waited ten minutes for our meals (to be expected when the place is busy, but when empty... Not so much). When we received our food, we both laughed. It was as though they took any cheese that should be on my plate and overloaded his. I asked for jalapeños on my tacos and ended up with a few minced bits instead of the sliced that are to be expected (and that we're on his tacos). The meat was hot, the beans were cold. While it was clean it here, it smelled strongly of bleach, not a great thing to smell when trying to eat. All in all, I'm glad I didn't have to eat McDonald's for a road lunch, but I wouldn't come here regularly if this was my local T. Flats.

Like all of the Tijuana Flats locations around Orlando, this one is great. If you haven't been to one you have to give it a shot, especially if you like hot sauce. Their hot sauce bar has something for everyone. I'm a fan of their higher level hot sauces because they have great flavor and kick. I'd also recommend the blackened chicken quesadilla. Comes with a side of their yummy chips. My favorite thing on the menu. Add on a side of their great queso and you've got yourself a treat. My hidden bonus: They have shaved/crushed ice in their sodas. I just love that.

What is there to say about Tijuana Flats? Only good things of course! My lady and I are OBSESSED! Probably some of the best Tex-Mex central Florida has to offer with no shortage of options. From an assortment of menu items to more sauces than you can handle, T-Flats never fails to disappoint. We order from this one often because it's close to where we live and work. The staff is super friendly and always there to top off my soda when I dine in. I really have no negative things to say about Tijuana Flats and especially about this particular location. And shout out to Eric for awesome food and great service!

This was the nastiest "Mexican" food I've ever had. The food was cold, flavorless, and was not even close to fresh ingredients. It was pricey for what it was. The only thing going for this place is the hot sauce bar. I'm a hot sauce junkie, so I loved the hot sauce variety. You can even buy some bottles if you like them. Its too bad though that the hot sauce is so needed on such nasty food. I literally would rather buy a 60 cent frozen burrito from Walmart. NOT EVEN JOKING! Lastly, they need to ease up on on the salt in the queso. Sad that the only food with flavor that was warm, was nothing but sodium. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!

Wow! Wonderful experience from beginning to end. I always wanted to try it and I had the opportunity to go there without my kids, as they aren't into Mexican food. When I ordered my food the cashier was very gracious and explained all the options. My blackened chicken burrito arrived as ordered and was delicious!!! A server came by and refilled my coke. They had TV's and a good mix of 90's rock playing in the background. The place was busy but not chaotic. I would come back here again;)

The tacos, blackened chicken or steak are great. They just changed their steak recipe and it's awesome. I've had a couple other items but the tacos I keep coming back to. It's really the best bang for your buck on a Tuesday night. Their sweet tea is spot on as well!

Nice Tijuana Flats location, staff is great. The Happy hours change, but there are some good deals. I like the hard taco's and load up at the hot sauce bar. This place gets packed, so we try to arrive early. Solid place to grab a meal, nice to have a quick food option that the "no meat" wife can eat at with me.

Have enjoyed dinner here twice this month, once on a BOGO from being a flathead (sign up for their emails!) and once after a long day in the yard, no energy to cook. So nice to have this location close to home! Service is always prompt, on busy nights they will have all 3 registers going so don't get worried if you see a long line when you walk in. The line always moves very quickly here. They've extended happy hour, new hours are 4:30-9:30. If you are used to other beer promos at the other locations...they don't do those here- they have the extended happy hour instead. Shocktops on draft are always icy cold and they have orange slices so the hubby is happy. Staff is super friendly, gets orders out quickly and recognize the regulars. Hot sauce bar is always well tended, never a mess and a great selection of new and regular flavors. Servers always check in several time to clear and ask if they can refill your drinks or take a beer order. Food is always prepared very well, never a mess up on our dine in or take out order. I tried the tostadas for the first time and they were very tasty. Hubby cannot stray from his Hard shell tacos with blackened chicken and black beans, has been getting 3 lately. Great option if you are a hungry boy, he finds them very filling.

I love the hot sauce bar, and they have a great rice bowl! However, I was disappointed by 2 things I didn't find here that I expected (based on other TF locations). 1. No crunch ice. What?? I love that stuff! They had regular ice cubes for my beverage. How sad! 2. There was no guacamole on my rice bowl. I was so disappointed. The other location that I frequent always gives me a generous portion of guac -- something you can't really eat Mexican food without -- but there was none here. Otherwise, it's what you'd expect from a Tijuana Flats. Always decently good food and reasonably priced.

Why do I do this to myself?? Why oh why oh... oh. Because QUESO that's why. I am also a sucker for tacos. Though the food tastes like it was actually prepped that day, a step above most fast food joints, but the sodium makes my heart pound in my throat. Oh delicious tacos and cheese goop, why do you have to be tho thalty?!?

First time at a Tijuana flats, we went on Tuesday so it was pretty good. Got two tacos, chips and drink for $4.99 the special on Tuesdays. It was a pretty filling meal. I opted for the white cheese instead of the normal yellow cheese, It was really tasty. We liked the blackened chicken, the tacos are a decent size. Not sure I would go there on another day. I forgot to check the prices but have a feeling you can easily get to $8.00 for a simular meal on other days. I am not one to pay that much for cheap Mexican food. This could be a Tuesday place to go in the future. The girls say hello whenever someone walks in and they shout out your name when.your order is ready. I don't like all the noise that much but it's ok. The music is a bit louder then I would like as well.

  • Lily R.

This location is less than a mile from my house, and one of my favorite places to go on Tuesday for 2 tacos, chips, and a drink! Can get pretty busy, but the line always moves fast, and food comes very quick! Love the sauce bar, and usually like to blend some together to make up my own sauces. Loveee the queso with their perfectly seasoned chips. Also, if you ever get the chance try the cookie dough flautas..omg HEAVEN!

  • Colleen B.

My favorite place to get chicken nachos!! I think I have only gotten the flautas from here one time and every other time, I can't stay away from the dang chicken nachos. Possibly it is because I can't stand Moe's - and their nachos are just not good and that is the only thing I get there, same with Panchos. However, at Chipotle if you get the burrito bowl with chips it's good. BUT when you want real nachos with melted cheddar cheese (not that queso junk) this is the place you go!! The chicken is cubed and doesn't really steal the show. It is definitely the melted cheese on teh seasoned chips and side of guac and salsa. I also get lettuce, tomatoes and onions which all could use a notch up. The service is pretty on point here too. When you take out it's fairly quick and when you stay there, they constantly check on you and HUGE plus for free refills delivered to you!

Was is town on business from NYC. Thank you Yelp for finding this place! My co-worker and I were impressed and we loved it. The set-up is nice - no waitstaff - so you save some money by ordering yourself. It's by no means "light" or "healthy" - but we're on business and deserve a cheese-filled dinner. My co-worker is vegetarian and he said he had plenty of choices. Great prices. Seemingly fresh fare made with quality ingredients. Chips are great - thin, crisp, not greasy. You don't get chips like this in NYC.

Tijuana Flats...oh how I heart your hot sauces, queso sauce, crunchy beef tacos and mostly, your FISH TACOS!!! Holy moly fish tacos...seasoned fish, CITRUS VINAGERETTE, and cabbage....oh, did I mention the CITRUS VINAGERETTE??? SooOOOoooo aaahhhhmaaAAazing!! Yes, I would agree that this isn't mexican, but then again, they do claim tex-mex...and it is tex-mex and it's solid. Secret confession....sometimes, I go to Tijuana Flats on Taco Tuesday's twice :) hehe

Holy taco bell, this was not what I expected. I was hoping for a delicious burrito with actual prepared ingredients. Instead I got pre made food that prob came from the can or a box. Please if you can stay away unless there are no other options, this is just a glorified taco bell that won't fill you up. :)

In this town, I feel as though reviewing Tijuana Flats is like reviewing MacDonalds... there's so many of them. +2 for the brand First of all, if a place that is clearly accessible to families for lunch and dinner has a hot sauce bar with terms like "A$s" and "Sh!t".. that suggests that they care more about crafting a product and experience rather than just pooping out another boring taco joint. Ten years ago (god, really?) when I first stepped into one in Lake Mary, seeing "Smack my A$s".. a glimmer of hope for humanity has channeled into my soul. ¡Arriba! +1 for consistency. Somehow, the staff at all the 6 or so locations I've been to are always awesome.. and almost all girls.. and all of them are very easy to look at. Its awesome for what it is and there's a bunch of locations that are very consistent from my experience over the past 10 years. +1 for drowning sorrows Beer is en la casa.. and not just limp-wristed frat beer.. real Mexican food beer as well (Dos Equis, Negro Modelo, Modelo Especial) +1 for Food The actual food rocks.. the ingredients are about average, but put together nicely. I tend to lean toward the simple Dos Tacos (wheat tortilla's an option which rocks for me)...or if I'm being good to myself (because I have to devour the shell) I'll get a 5,000 calorie (taco) salad. God that thing is sexy with the right hotsauce. And if I really want to embrace the darkness.. I'll get a Chimichanga, of which theirs is great. Lastly, if you like hot (spicy) foods and hot sauce.. and you haven't been here.. you're really phuggin up. There's a hot sauce bar.. an the really hot ones (Endorphin Rush) aren't just novelty-hot, they're actually flavorful.

Its Tijuana Flats, so you know the quality of food to expect, you know the queso is amazing and "Taco Tuesdaze" is a hit at their many locations. We went here yesterday and the place was buzzing. However, the staff made quick work of the long line and we had our food in a quick minute. We've never had a bad experience at this location and so we'll always come back once in a while to have a taco. Food is good but its a chain, so its not the best, but it is tasty. The tacos are huge, and the veggies are fresh. As I've said, the queso is amazing. The enchilada plate is equally delicious.

Tijuana Flats has a few locations around town and I have enjoyed the food at the University, Avalon, and Winter Park locations. I enjoyed the food at the Winter Park location a little bit less. It may sound odd but everything at this location was served in smaller portions and during one of my visits the food seemed undercooked. I ate with a few people from work and they also agreed on the portion size of their plates. This is not the norm for TJ's so I would recommend a different location if this will be your first time visiting the establishment. *****Update***** I went back to give another try and yes my Flautas were still smaller than expected however the Burritos were larger than the previous times I visited. One thing that I failed to mention earlier was the service is outstanding at this location which to me means a great deal! 4 Stars is definitely deserved for this location based on service.

This is not Mexican food. Rinse, repeat, keep that mantra in mind. It's really tasty, Americanized Mexican food for college kids with an emphasis on the hot sauce bar. It is inexpensive, tasty, and ultimately achieves its' goal. On that note, this is the worst location I have ever been to. I understand that franchise owners like to keep cute, young girls in the front and guys in the back, but if you're going to do this at least hire people that are competent. I had one girl repeat back my order to me twice to bring it home and find out she had completely mangled it, for the third time in a row from this location. You are better off going 15 minutes in either direction to a different Tijuana Flats.

  • Annette G.

I hate to do it, but knocking this down to 2 stars. The food is just... really not fresh tasting. Even though it's made fresh, it's just all really mushy. They skimp on the fresh ingredients, and it all just turns to mush in a burrito. The nachos are still good though, but way overpriced.

    (2)
  • Lauren E.

My love for Tijuana Flats grows stronger with each bite of cheesy, hot-sauce laden deliciousness. Everything I've had has been good at this location. The service never disappoints, either. They've recently made some changes to the menu and it's just what they needed to create a 5-star food experience. For example, they now use a wheat tortilla for the taco salad shell and fill it with romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. Delish. And as always, you can order a burrito in three different sizes depending on the heft of your appetite. If you're not in to the whole salad healthy thing, end your meal with the cookie dough flautas. It's like a deep-fried melted oreo from dessert heaven drizzled in chocolate sauce.

Oh Tijuana Flats, how I miss you....Every time I'm back in Florida, I have to eat here. Back in the day, my friends and I came to Tijuana for their buckets of beer, I ordered their delicious black bean burrito, chips & queso...We would sit outside in the fabulous Florida weather to eat and drink till our tummys' content. Every bite I took was like a party in my mouth! I love the hot sauce bar..." slap my ass and call me sally" & "Vidalia onion" sauces were my favorite. I also like that it's a small Franchise and they use fresh ingredients. The bumper stickers all over the place are HILLARIOUS. Great music, stimulating and fun surroundings, delicious food and awesome beer. What more could you ask for?

Just got done eating at the Aloma location. Walking in to an empty restaurant is always an unsettling thing. Regardless, I ordered the bangin' chicken burrito. It was all chicken tossed in their "smack my ass" sauce. Not a bad thing, but it does say grilled onions, peppers, tomatoes and ranch on the menu, those were hard to find. My dining partner ordered the fish tacos. Wow, what a disappointment! I could smell the fish before they even set the tacos on the table. She took one bite of them and that was it. Me being the type of person to not send something back, ordered another burrito to go for her and called it a day. Tijuana has a lot of work to do if they are trying to compete with Jimmy Hula's down the street. If your looking for fish tacos, Tijuana Flat's isnt the best option.

Tijuana Flats is my favorite Mexican food to get in Orlando! Being right around the corner from my house it is hard not to crave the Flats goodness :) I have been to many locations around Orlando, but since I live close to the one in Winter Park that is my home Tijuana Flats. The employees that work there love interacting with the guests. Another thing I love about Tijuana Flats in Winter Park is the speedy service. When leaving work I call them to order take out, and it is ready the second I walk in the door which is good because by that time I am starving :) Food selections that are the best: Enchiladas, Chicken Quesadillas with the Wheat Tortilla, and much more!

Well, The hot sauce bar has moved from possibly dangerous to overly sweet and their menu could use some expansion into different flavors, but besides this TJs is hard to beat for easy and potentially healthy Mexicanish. Fairly priced and always friendly, a good bet. If you are willing to go the deep fried route, try the mini Chimi's. I dont think they are on the menu any more but will be made if oredred.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
