This was our first visit and it was your middle of the road BBQ experience. The restaurant is worn but very clean, the booth was comfortable and our server was very pleasant and efficient. Love the giant iced tea glasses and monster 22oz. brews. We had fried okra as an appetizer and I'm 99% sure it was NOT homemade. Perfectly cooked but no real flavor and missing the crunch of the breading. I had the chopped brisket sandwich, which was good, but didn't care for the sauce options. Not much flavor, nothing with a good burn and no vinegar based options. Hubby had the BBQ beans...good, cole slaw...good, pulled pork sandwich...good. He had the same complaint about the sauces. I left feeling somewhat unsatisfied as my taste buds wanted something less bland. C'mon, Sonny's!

The service here is usually friendly, so I'll give them thumbs up for that. This place is right across the street where I used to live, so I used to go here all the time for their big deal meal, which was priced excellently. THEN...the skies opened up and some divine power pointed me to Four Rivers and I've never looked back to sub-par commercial grade BBQ ever since.

We have been coming here since this place opened and ALWAYS GET GREAT SERVICE AND GREAT FOOD. Love the location and the friendly staff. The promo for a free meal deal on my birthday is always a fun time. Love the choices of sauces. Best green beans I've ever had!

I made the mistake of taking a seat at the bar that looked into where servers picked up their food from the kitchen. Floor sat dirty for about 15 minutes and didn't like seeing how coleslaw was served. Nothing horrible but... I had hoped going mid afternoon service would be good. Server was alone and worked hard. I had specifically ordered a couple of things and didn't get exactly what I ordered. I think it was because server wasn't truly listening to what I said. She corrected quickly though. I did have to borrow sauces, salt, pepper, etc. from empty table because I was tired of waiting for everything. I was most disappointed with the food. My pork was fatty. French fries weren't cooked well...no crispiness. Baked beans were fair. Cole slaw was only thing that was good. My dad seemed ok with this meal. He had ribs. His garlic bread looked good. His side dinner salad looked delicious too. He had same sides as me but he didn't complain. I tipped 25 percent because server was working hard but overall given this experience I won't be back.

I was a huge fan of Sonny's. Being a big guy the "All You Can Eat" was a big draw. Some tasty BBQ and as much of it as I want? Sign me up. However, I walk in today and find out that the corn on the cob (which was always delicious) has been taken off the menu. #disappointed Also, I order my food and was told they're out of the sliced pork. But... what am I supposed to eat now? It's Friday night and you're out of something? Not cool. Luckily, their smoked turkey is pretty good or this could have turned into a bad night. The restaurant itself is nice. Clean and organized. The staff is friendly and attentive. Excellent place for a family dinner (as long as your family doesn't want sliced pork or corn on the cob). Normally , I would rate this place with 5 stars, but the omission of the corn on the cob from the menu and the lack of sliced pork brings the rating down.

Sonny's has been a childhood favorite of mine since living in Chicago and crossing the Indiana border for cheap gas. They had me at endless pulled chicken and green beans. Though they are a chain of restaurants, their food quality has always been great and the service even better. Now that I am an adult, I still visit and deep within that bottomless pulled chicken, is nostalgic childhood memories of family and summer outings. When I want barbecue, fast with quality, this is a go to place. This one has a drive-thru which is convenient if you're on the go.

No clue on quality. Sat in the bar at a dirty table and was told it would be cleaned and I would be served. After waiting 10 minutes with no service I gave up.

I rarely go to chain restaurants but I wasn't the one picking! It was surprisingly quite delicious!! The pulled pork, mac n cheese and fried okra were heavenly!! Heck, it all was. I even got sweet tea! I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for bbq and southern sides. Oooh that mac n cheese!

When we first arrived we were greeted immediately with a smiling face. We were seated and our server Beth came up right away to get our drinks. She brought them back and took our order. My son got the ayce pork and she was in top of the reorders for him. She was very friendly and an awesome server. I will gladly go back again. Thanks for the wonderful service Beth.

We've dined at this Sonny's for almost four years and growing disappointed the last few times with the service and food. Hoping we get more restaurant options in Oviedo soon. This is our last visit.

It's alright-- for Florida BBQ any way. Their salad bar is a joke, though. It's more like a snack bar and the veggies look like they've been sitting there for a week. This last trip, I had the chicken & pork combo with green beans and broccoli. The chicken was moist, but flavorless. The pork was actually very, very good. The green beans may be the best thing they serve, but the broccoli was bland and mushy. All-together a meh experience.

This was my first time at the Oviedo restaurant. We normally visit the University restaurant. This is a smaller place and the service was much faster. We really liked the friendly attention we received from Liz our waitress. The management walked by and asked how we found the food and service. My pull pork sandwich was delicious and plentiful with a great side of beans. My guest who has been here over the years had the salad bar. He said it had improved tremendously. We also found it very clean. Thank you for the great experience.

The mac & cheese is good... The sweet potato is awesome... Great salad bar with soup. Since I tried their new, redneck eggrolls, I'm HOOKED, just go over there for THEM, sometimes just ordering through the drive through! I gave it a 4 star because their cooking is NOT consistent, my husband loves their "all you can eat ribs". But sometimes, they're fall off the bone MEATY ribs, sometimes is leave your teeth, on the bones cause there's nothing to fall off the bone! Yesterday, the sweet potato was not thoroughly cooked. We have to keep sending orders back because of the inconsistency, practically every time we go... But had to give a review, just a SHOUT OUT of THANKS, to the staff's HONESTY. I left my purse (which I usually don't have that much cash on me anyways) but NOT yesterday! I had a LOT of cash and out of all days, I forget my purse, I didn't notice, until maybe 8 min up the road and another 8min to return, I was just frantic! But the server gave it to manager, manager gave it back and then, I stood by the salad bar, looking through my cash and ALL was there! I gave an extra tip to the server, for being so HONEST! Everybody really, should have gotten a TIP for their honesty! Now a days that's pretty awesome and not end up with a bad digestion! THANKS EVERYBODY at SONNY's!

Yeah it's a chain BBQ restaurant, but it's still good. Go for the weekly all you can eat specials. Their ribs are OK. The pulled and sliced pork or slice brisket are my choice. Personally I wish there was a hotter sauce. This particular location is slightly more "upscaled". It's new, clean and has a full separate bar. There's also covered outdoor seating. The service was pretty good.

BBQ is ok but not consistent. Good specials but salad bar is way over priced especially when the bar is ordered with a main entree. Prices have gone up so stick with the daily AYCE specials and you will be fine. Service normally very good.

Went to Sonny's Friday night, haven't been there in a while. They changed their salad bar and I must say it is wayyyy mo betta! If you've been there and have tried to get the salad bar, your arm had to be 9 ft long to reach the lettuce! They made some changes and added some items and it was really good! Got some pulled pork that was pretty decent as well. They are usually on their game here and tonight they did good!

Decided to take the family to Sonny's for lunch a couple weeks ago. We were promptly seated and the waitress brought drinks out quickly. I noticed that lunch specials were no longer on the menu...if they were, hard to find. So we ordered off the menu and when the meals came out, I immediately noticed that for the price the portions had shrunk. Even the corn muffin are half the size they were. The food tasted okay, not super good or bad. When the check came, I gave my credit card to the waitress and when she returned, she gave me some other patrons credit card!!!! Where is my card!!! I immediately hopped up and tracked down the waitress to find that she had charged my card for my meal and another table!!!! She didn't seem to know how to correct the issue and finally got a manager who seemed to be either new on the job, or lacks the customer service skills to be in that position. She told me that the charge had been reversed but couldn't provide a copy of a receipt as proof. #nothappy The manager seemed bothered to have to deal with us, over something that was completely their fault. #fail Later that week, we contacted the Corp office and never received a follow-up. #fail We won't be back.

I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants like Sonny's but in the Oviedo area your options for barbeque are pretty slim. I recently ate at this location with my wife. By and large they did a pretty good job on the service end but the food was a little disappointing. When I walked in to the restaurant everything seemed nice and clean and we were greeted immediately. Things like this are always great impressions. As for the food, we ordered a fried okra appetizer that tasted like it came from a bag (and it probably did). This isn't a huge deal but it's disappointing especially when you're operating a restaurant in the South. The showcase for any barbeque place should be the meat and sad to say, this is where Sonny's really fails. I ordered the pulled pork. The meat didn't have much taste and I had to slather it with sauce. It was also very chewy. Good barbeque should almost disintegrate in your mouth, not here. On the upside, the service was very good. Our server was smiling and polite. The food came out pretty quick and we didn't have to wait very long for everything. If you're in Oviedo and you really want some barbeque, Sonny's is probably your best bet.

Part of the Sonny's tradition, the service lives up to their reputation but food quality has diminished. The St Louis style ribs are really not tender at all and our onion rings were cold and greasy. The ckicken part of the combo plate was very tasty and the meat fell off of the bone. Pricing is very reasonable and hopefully next visit the ribs will be prepared better.

Went here last night and had pork ribs, mac n cheese and fries. The fries were great, the mac n cheese was cold and the ribs were tough and tasteless. Their sauces are OK but the food is not. Will not return.
