Giving this very friendly place four stars. It's just off a main highway with lots of parking around it. I remember the Wendy adverts from the 1990's when the now deceased owner Dave Thomas told us on telly: 'Wendy's. The home of the square hamburger, always fresh never frozen.' Dave was a big player in the early days of developing 'Kentucky fried Chicken' so a fast food wizard. He was originally a U.S. army cook. He made enough cash to set up his own burger chain and he named it after his daughter - how predictable. Enough of my rambling; it was a scorching 33 degrees centigrade, and azure blue skies as we pulled into Wendy's. The guy on the radio was complaining about the heat wave. I thought, shut up ya twit it's just lovely. My ideal temperature. Mind you I had the head staggers as I mistakenly ordered a large burger meal instead of the standard size - three quarters of a pound of meat in three square burgers, cheese and all the other stuff that Americans wedge into a meal in one hand. Then a bucket full of French fries and talking of buckets the cup for my diet coke must a held at least a litre of fluid. All this food for under $10. And very friendly servers too. Next I went to the drinks dispenser machine. It was a touch screen TV screen. I tapped the screen. Bloody hell the selection was staggering so after an initial glance I narrowed in on the caffeine free coke zero choice. About seven or eight choices popped up - the generic one, then others flavoured with lime, orange, vanilla and on and on. I opted for the lime flavour and it wasn't bad. Although the in - store air con was very effective, 33 degrees was calling me so it was dining Al fresco. It was just wonderful sitting outside basking in great heat. Luxury. The only downside was simply too much food, I couldn't finish it, but truth be told I did enjoy what I had.

So, I do like the natural cut fries and the vanilla frosty. This Wendy's is by the airport and can get crowded, but the line moves fast. They are not playing around. . .
