Great place for a quick bite to eat. Good menu and decent prices.

Great sandwich place. Our first visit was wonderful, the corned beef and pastrami was stuffed and everyone was so impressed. We also hit the bakery on the way out for some black and whites. We stopped in again later in the week and the food/service didn't seem as great. The sandwiches were not as big as the first visit and the service was slow. Tables seated after us received their food first and my fries and rheuban were cold when they got to the table. I'm not sure if we will stop again on the next vacation.

Poor service. ..waited 15 mins. To be seated..then was told that the kitchen was busy so it might take a bit longer than normal. ..I left. ..25 minutes an all I did was waste my time

This place has a great selection of comfort food. The portion sizes are perfect with great healthy (and not so healthy) sides. The service is super friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. They have delicious homemade desserts that I recommend everyone at least try. Great weekend lunch place.

Stop here every trip to Orlando. Had the Toojays Classic, French onion soup and the wife had the brisket sliders. Loved everything.

This place has the most annoying front of house personnel in the city. The restaurant may be half empty, but they'll keep you standing there for ten minutes while they act officious. This is not the description of a single experience, it's the description of every experience I've had during ten years, every time someone has dragged me to this place. The food is fine, but I'm so annoyed by the time I'm seated that I can never enjoy it. Orlando has very few delis. But we could get by with one less.

TooJay's is a fablous restaurant to visit in Orlando. I read the Yelp review for here before heading to Orlando and put it on my must visit list. I am so glad we did! The menu is HUGE! It took awhile to decide on something because everything sounded so good. I ended up ordering the Beef Brisket Sliders (TooJay's signature deli slider sensation. Three mini rolls topped with horseradish cream, crunchy mini potato pancake, savory beef brisket and caramelized onions.) and my husband ordered the Reuben (Our classic of hot corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese is grilled to perfection and topped with our homestyle Russian dressing on our famous rye bread. Served with French fries). Oh my goodness, food heaven! My husband said it was the best Reuben he's had in age and I thought the sliders were out this world. In fact, I wish I had some to eat now! Everything was just perfect! The service was fantastic. While we were dining an older couple sat a table over and they are regular customers. The waiters would all stop over and talk to the couple and when they left a waiter helped the older gentlemen with his walker. I thought it was very sweet how much the staff cared about their long time customers. You don't see that very often these days. If you're from Orlando or just visiting, make it a point to come here and eat.

Florida based delicatessen with a Jewish flair! too jays makes you feel like your in a place that doesn't have multiple locations. However they are in many cities in florida. Overview, when you walk in. You can see a host stand to be seated or order takeout. Deli glass in front of you with many types of salads, meats and pastries that can be order by the ounce, pound, or slice. The Food, personally I go here for the matzo-ball soup and rugalah pastries. I have other things from the menu such as pastrami etc which was good. Everything is always fresh and I have never been dissatisfied here. Service, anytime I been here everyone has always been very friendly and helpful. the Prices, I think the prices are a bit high for a lot of there items. Especially the pastries. After a couple small pieces hit this scale, reach deep in your pockets. Overall if you have a craving for that NY style Jewish deli, or just want a cup or bowl of matzo ball soup. Stop by Toojays! They also do platters and catering as well.

Got to the Sheraton after an early flight and asked about a good place to have lunch. We were in the mood for comfort food. Too Jay's was recommended. We ordered a Reuben and a turkey Reuben . Both were delish and sized to excess. Thick cut fries and sweet potato fries were hot and tasty. Service was good, friendly and helpful. The only negative was the booth we were seated in was terribly uncomfortable.

There's really only one good reason to visit TooJay's - and that's matzoh ball soup. Service can be hit or miss and the food is 'okay' They're known for their sandwiches, but since I'm from South Florida and Jewish delis are easy to come by, I don't think TooJay's has anything special. The only time I truly come to TooJay's is when I'm feeling down or sick and need a bowl of Jewish penicillin, aka - Matzoh Ball Soup. It isn't as good as my grandma's, but it is comforting and it does taste good! I also enjoy the cheese blintzes, and their Bagel with smoked salmon.

New York City has the Carnegie Deli and the Stage Deli, Los Angeles has the Canter Deli, and we, the residents of Florida, have our very own famous deli- TooJay's Original Gourmet Deli. The menu is enormous, the food is delicious and the portions are huge. You could eat here everyday for a year and never eat the same thing twice. TooJay's, with 24 locations in Florida, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serve everything from cheese blintzes to beef brisket. Let me just say right off the bat that they serve the world's best chicken noodle soup and it is no surprise to me that they serve over 1 million bowls of the stuff a year. TooJay's is a deli/bakery. When you walk in, you will pass a stunning display of traditional deli dips and salads like hummus, tabouleh and chicken salad. You can order any of these items to go or grab a seat in the dining room. We are greeted right away and we were able to sit at a table right away. (We dined at 3pm on a Friday- not a very busy time but to my surprise more than three quarters of the large dining room was filled.) Expect a large wait on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The smoked fish platter and any of the quiches make the wait worthwhile. We ate fairly lightly on this particular visit. There is an entire section of the menu dedicated to lighter and vegetarian items. Chad ordered the light albacore tuna salad. HUGE chunks of tuna, perfectly ripened tomatoes and fresh cucumbers, black olives and red onion piled on top of romaine lettuce with a citrus vinaigrette is perfect if you are craving something light and healthy. Also on that menu are items like a roasted vegetable pasta, a baked tilapia platter and a chicken-strawberry citrus salad. I ordered the Vegetable Rueben Ciabatta off the same light and vegetarian menu. While it was vegetarian, it was not on the lighter side. I ate half of it and had the other half the next day for lunch. My sandwich had sautéed mushrooms, red and green peppers, caramelized onions, spinach, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and Russian dressing piled high on 9-grain wheat ciabatta bread and then grilled until it was crispy and golden. If you read any of my other posts regularly you will notice a pattern of me regularly ordering Rueben sandwiches. It is my favorite sandwich of all time. TooJay's vegetarian version was not only the tastiest of all the Ruebens I have ever tried, but it was also much healthier than a regular meat version. I would give this sandwich a 10 out of 5! The only thing I changed was I substituted fries for the fresh fruit offered on the menu. I am not a fan of watermelon, cantaloupe or honeydew and that is usually the base for most fruit salads. We have never had bad service at any of the locations we have been too, we have never had a bad meal, we have never had to send anything back to the kitchen, and we have never left TooJay's still hungry and not satisfied. Oh, and on the way out, they will tempt you one last time with their huge display of freshly baked cakes and cookies. (They sell almost 3 million black and white cookies a year!)

Had the matzo ball soup with the stuffed cabbage ... Although the matzo ball wasnt the best I ever had it was certainly delicious. It came with shredded bits of chicken and the matzo ball had some herbs mixed in it so that was new for me.. The highlight of my meal was the stuffed cabbage though ... The stuffing inside was perfect .. The cabbage wasnt mushy it was nice and firm but just soft enough for my knife to cut through ... And the tomato sauce on top was divine ... I would give this place a 4.5 ...

I'm giving this place 3 stars just because of the super nice server we had. I should know never to walk into a place 10 minutes before it closes... but I was with my parents and they were wanting TooJay's. We were the only people in there other than one other table but they were finishing up... I literally asked my parents 3 times if they were sure they wanted to eat there... I use to be a server a million years ago so i know..trust me I know.. Our server though was just as pleasant as can be, no undertone present. We get the menu and that thing is just ridiculous reminded me of NYC diner menus. I ordered a salad(my guilt forced me to order the easiest thing on the menu) and my parents ordered a turkey Reuben and the veggie wrap. I mean wait time was next to nothing since again no one else was there... This is the problem though.. I don't know the correct terms in English I know them in Arabic... but there was a pungent type of taste to Turkey.. The kind where if you are in a hurry and you take cold turkey and heat it in the microwave.. you know that taste... It was sent back... he couldn't eat it.. I'm sure some of you are saying serves you right for going in that late... but in all fairness we ordered right away and you still need to make the sandwich right sloppy jobs shouldn't be allowed bc it's almost time to close... My salad was just uneventful... I could have made it at home... It was large and that's about it... My mother did love her veggie wrap... which she split with my dad... The server again was super nice... she took it off the bill.. and we left.. Idk Deli wise eh not so special... my mom said I need to try the sandwiches next time as she loves that place... so I guess there will be a round two..

Toojay's is normally a solid choice, but the staff at this location are just really out of it. I'm not sure if it's policy or if it's just the people, but I feel really weird being here, like an unwelcome house guest. I work in the service industry, I understand that sometimes you need to talk with your coworkers to stay sane, but I don't think it's okay to ignore people coming in so you can lounge at the hostess stand and chat with one of the servers. Likewise, the server attending to us seemed nice enough but became brusque as soon as we ordered waters to drink. Yes, you work for tips, but acting out like that will only guarantee that we won't want to tip you well. She was also constantly trying to upsell us on items, which I know is policy (I've had to do it enough), but it felt very painful and forced. In my past experiences with upselling, we had two things to ask per order because any more than that and the managers told us we would irritate our customers. Here we were given upsell alternatives 5 times during the time we were there. I would have liked to have gotten some ruggelach (yum!), but the policy of leaving the dessert menu on the table before we're done with our lunch (which I saw happen at other tables) and then being asked twice if we want anything totally turned me off from buying anything else. I much prefer the location in Waterford Lakes and will probably not go to this one again. I recall the dessert menu being left at the table there as well, but it didn't feel invasive like it did with our server at this place. Good food but very hit-or-miss staff. No thanks.

Toojay's is a gourmet Deli for Sure! They make Fresh Pastries and Fresh Baked Bread to offer in your selections for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. My Man took me to Toojay's after we trained at the Bally's for Breakfast. There's plenty of parking in the Plaza and walk into Toojay's where you see the beautiful Fresh Pastry displays and .. of course a Line for breakfast (where you can stare at the Pastries and Drool), even a wait to see the hostess to be seated. 20 Minutes seemed to go by fast but we were Hungry by the time we sat down. Our waitress was full of energy and took our orders and kept the waters full. We ordered the Egg-White( additional 1$) Spinach Feta Omelet and it was fantastic! It comes with Fresh Baked Toast or Bagel of Choice, and Famous Home fries, Southern Style Grits, or Oatmeal. The Bread naturally was amazing and the Home Fries were a little Greasy but I guess that's what makes it "Famous", not health conscious. The Fresh Brewed Coffee was nice and strong and the waitress kept our glasses filled 1.99 def worth it! Breakfast is Served M-F Till 11AM Sat-Sun Till 2PM Toojay's is a Great chain Restaurant they know what they're doing and Deliver. I will be back and to the other Locations as well.

Not bad, but not great... My husband and I stopped at Toojay's for a late lunch a few days ago and I have to say it was a mixed experience. I've been to this location many times and each time there are good things, and unfortunately some not so good things. Our server was great and very attentive, but the restaurant was rather empty at 3:00, so that's to be expected. I've been during the lunch rush and felt happy to get a refill on my tea, so this time it was nice. We started with the potato pancakes, which are a fave of mine there, but they were extremely over cooked. The edges were almost black and had to be cut off so we could at least enjoy the middle. The server told us that is how they always cook them, but I know from past experience that isn't true. Yes, they are always pretty crispy on the edges, but this time the edges were inedible. It would have been nice for the server to offer to bring new ones, but alas, he did not so we enjoyed what we could. Our lunch arrived at the table and I was much happier, my husband was ok... My Shepherds Pie was yummy and I ate every bite. The muenster cheese on top was perfect, the potato was fresh, and it was really well seasoned. My husband got the Triple J sandwich which has corned beef, roast beef, turkey, and swiss cheese. He saw on the menu it came with slaw and asked for fries instead. The server failed to tell him the slaw was actually on the sandwich, that would have been a good thing to point out. My husband ate the sandwich and said the meats and rye bread were good, but it would have been better without the slaw (he's not a big fan). If I based my review on lunch alone, it would be a two star experience, but the saving grace was the desserts. I bought so many things to take home the counter girl was looking at me strangely ;) I love bread pudding with raisins and the more than generous portion I brought home was much enjoyed by my daughter and myself. My teenager is a pretty picky person, being a teenager, and had never tried bread pudding before so it speaks volumes that she ate her half in record time. It was dense and very moist, with lots of raisins and the perfect amount of cinnamon. The black and whites were great. I really enjoyed the one I was able to snag away from my daughter and husband! My husband is from NYC, so when he says a black and white is good I have to believe him. I also bought eclairs which were delicious, and a big slice of red velvet cake that was to die for. I licked the last of the cream cheese frosting off of my fork :) All in all, the experience was just ok. I did love every bakery product we brought home but I'm not sure that makes up for the less than stellar lunch.

Due to a recent visit, I felt obligated to take this rating down two notches. And we won't be back. When my sandwich showed up with bread that was green inside, I sent it back to the kitchen. Well, some cooks get revenge for rejected food. In return, I received a much smaller sandwich, the bread of which had been torn up and flattened to the thickness of thin cardboard. Such disservice is unacceptable. The next time we're in the area, we'll try the Chipotle's across the parking lot.

I have heard alot about this place so I was excited to try it for lunch today. BAD IDEA!! I ordered the Brisket Dip and a Potato Knish. The brisket was completely flavorless as well as the dip that came along with it. The Knish was just down right gross I took one bite and threw it away. A complete waste of my time....

Toojays is a deli for sure but not an authentic NY-style deli. Sorry, but it's not. It's more of a restaurant with a deli theme. They have a huge menu with the typical sandwiches, soups, salads and also items like lasagna, pot roast and such. Toojays hits the mark with the simpler items like the pastrami, matzo ball soup and stuffed cabbage but the non-deli items have never impressed me. The desserts are great. Service is usually fast and friendly. Prices seem a bit high. A Pastrami on rye with a tiny cup of cole slaw and a fountain drink will set you back $12.00. No difference in lunch and dinner prices.

Came back from TooJay's Gourmet Deli. 11/1/10. Lunch I spent Appx: $10 including tip and tax. Ordered: Corned Beef (10/31/10) & Pastrami (11/1/10) Food Quantity: 8/10 Food Quality or Taste: 8/10 Food Price: 9/10 Yea, I still had room for more food. Food Menu Choices: 10/10 There's many to choose from. Wait Time: 8 minutes after ordering. They have above average sandwiches. Not the best. I love deli food. I have eaten them everywhere around the world. The corned beef and pastrami although Fresh, is not the greatest tasting fresh deli meat. Recommend: 9/10 For Age: 21 and up

In dealing with a health challenge went raw vegan 2 years ago. a few months ago decided to have poached eggs was for the last time with hollendaise and smoked salmon. Hard to be Vegan with addictions from old food habits. Invited my treat an older distinguished gentleman my neighbor and friend. I was ignored at the front as the Man Manager greeted him and did not make eye contact with me. Both of our orders were placed by the female waitress. Got our food Then the waitress comes by and asks only the Gentleman eating how his meal was did not even look at me or acknowledge I was at the table. I wanted something else and had to yell as she kept moving after only asking him how his meal was. Then 3rd straw caused me to lose it loudly. A busboy came by looked at the gentleman and asked him only and only looked at him how is your meal. I lost it. Lost my appetite my food did not digest I no longer like this place at all. I use to get catering here, use to come often. This did it. I saved my reciept it was on 3/15/2015 at 1:37 Jennifer was his waitress I was not in existence in that place even though I was at the table. The check reference number 982939 transaction 944874. So Rude!!! The Manager still charged us and I paid and said I will take care of you next time!!! There will not be a next time I should not have been charged and it was a measly bill. Do Not Recommend this spot many other better choices with a more attentive staff to all. The food also for anyone who cares is not kosher and probably not organic.

One of the few authentic deli's in the Orlando area.. The way they roll the corned beef and sauerkraut in their Reubens is a great idea - every bite is delicious. BEWARE it is very busy at peak times so plan to wait in line.

Amazing chicken soup. .. great chopped liver too. Citrus salad dressing is a rare treat never had before. Clean. Good service. What more can you ask for at a casual restaurant? Highly recommended by a fussy New Yorker!

Loooovvvveeee TooJay's. It's an NY style deli which is my favorite kind of deli and brings back good memories of living in the city. Nice atmosphere, clean, very friendly staff indeed, my waitress was literally a doll with very good manners. Food was amazing too. Only thing I have to complain about is sometimes service is really slow, depending on how packed it is, and of course since this is Orlando there's always tourists taking up all the joints. Other than that, I love this place.

Having been to other TooJay's I had great hopes for consistent good food. I was sadly disappointed. I have tried both breakfast and lunch at this location. I find a lack of focus on details compared to the other Toojays. Tough - dry roast beef., cold omelets, inattentive staff and plastic and bugs in the food and coffee. I will not be back to this location any time soon.

Great service from Diana. Mom had chicken salad and said it was wonderful. I had a burger and it was good, fries were not good. Tried a sample of the corned beef. It was super thin and very fatty. Tasted very prepackaged. Corned Beef is folded and placed on bread. If you are familiar with traditional New York deli corned beef, this isn't it, but the sandwiches are very tasty. Definitely worth multiple visits.

I'm going to give a review that's a bit atypical from my norm. Rather than basing my review on the entire "experience", I'm basing my review on the food quality alone. Plenty of reviews mention the slow service, but don't mention you have the option to order to-go. I was in the mood for a deli sandwich (roast beef to be specific) and was well pleased. After initially sitting at a table and seeing that their servers would be a while getting to me, I went to the to-go counter and placed an order. I took the sandwich to an outside table (complete with an umbrella to shade from the sun) and enjoyed 1/2 of the sandwich. There was so much meat that I saved the other half for a late afternoon snack. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but my sandwich was great and I got two meals for $12 or so. (Much better quality than the chain sub shops and more or less what I was expecting in a deli sandwich). The manager saw I was outside, approached me, apologized (guessing the to-go folks told him I had initially tried to sit indoors) and offered a dessert on the house. I'm not often in this part of town, but I'd stop again of I found myself in the neighborhood.

We love the food here. We have noticed that over the years the portions keep getting smaller, but still a good deal for corned beef. Service is always sub par, so don't go when you're in a rush. Everything always takes forever and you can't get a refill to save your life.

Tried the place out again, received some certificates to try them out again. We went there around 730 pm place wasn't crowded, we were greeted right away as well seated.. Becky was our sever she was great she has three tables one was a big table. Becky was attentive to all the tables. I ordered the chicken ciabatta-chicken breast with provolone cheese, portobello mushrooms and tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar. It was good just missing some seasoning I added yellow mustard which was good, this sandwich was suppose to come with fruit but asked for fries instead which they did at no charge.downside no pickle I'm sure if I asked she would've brought me one but I was already full. Will be back and try the pastrami as that looked good.

Had lunch at TooJay's when I'm in the mood for some food reminiscent of my Jewish upbringing. Fortunately, I came after the busy lunch hours so was seated immediately. The waitress was very accommodating and I ordered one of the lunch combinations...matzoh ball soup and half of sandwish...brisket on rye with russian dressing, served with cole slaw and a pickle. I just felt I had to purchase something to take home so I order dill chicken salad and shrimp salad (I didn't enjoy the shrimp salad) and 1/2 lb of rugalach, my favorite! Very comforting food!

Visiting Orlando and the aunt said we had to try it out. It's a mom and pop Jewish deli that makes their own food. I was a little overwhelmed with the menu cause there are over 100 items to choose from. Thankfully the waitress was kind to hone me in to what I was looking for... MEAT! More specific pastrami and brisket! We started with the potato cakes and after careful deliberation I ordered the original Toojays Reuben with a special order to add pastrami cause i had to have both ;) coleslaw and fruit. Delish! The Reuben was outstanding. Rye bread toasted to perfection. You can't even tell it's rye (not a huge fan). Meat seasoned and cooked to a tenderness that melts in your mouth. I liked that they roll the meat around the crout so it stays in your sandwich when you bite down. Then topped with melted cheese... heaven! The potato cakes were lovely. Fried to a crispy crust with a soft center served with sour cream and apple sauce. You get about 6 in an order. It's a great alternative to fries. Sad to say this gem is only in FL. Read other reviews and they are mixed. But our service was attentive, friendly and most helpful. I hear the lox and white fish are tasty as is the brisket. I did steal a peek at my neighbor's plate and the chicken pot pie looked awesome. Would definitely return if back in FL. Oh and you must take home some black and white cookies. I say take home cause you will have no room in your stomach!

First and last time I'll ever go there! The hostess was rude and looked like she hated her job. We waited about 15mins to be seated. Apparently the thing to order is sandwiches bc I ordered the brisket.... Omg it tasted like a year old frozen lean cuisine. I took 3 bites and moved it to the side. I had no appetite left for them to bring me something different. My boyfriends burger was still raw in the middle. Terrible experience all around. I hated I even paid for that meal, I feel robbed.

Eh, I think this place is over rated. The sandwich I got - turkey avocado, was below a average. If you are going to have a sandwich named turkey avocado, you damn well better give me ripe avocado. I was literally crunching when I bit into it. So I pulled all of it out of my sandwich. For the price, it should come with fries or something other than a small portion of coleslaw. I left feeling very unimpressed and dissatisfied! I shall not be returning here.

I've been here a few times now on the weekends and every time I go, there is a line to the door! This is how good the food is! The line moves super quickly, though. The prices are VERY reasonable and the staff is more than friendly. I love the fact that they have a deli and pastry section. While we were eating, we ordered pastries to go and they had them ready for us before we walked out. I would say this place is very "homey" and I will be returning many more times!

This Toojay's and I have an interesting relationship. Pretty much the main reason I come here is for the salmon bagel sandwich because it's my weakness and there aren't that many places to get it. This is the location closest to where I work so I've been here a couple of times. All I ask for with my sandwich is a fried egg added to it. I know it can be done because they do it for me anytime of day at the location closest to my house. Let me just give you the rundown of what happened to me on my last visit and why I am displeased. Waitress- Do you know what you want? Me- Yes the salmon bagel sandwich with a fried egg on it please. W- I'm not sure if we can do that, it's not breakfast anymore... M- I get it all the time... W- Okay well I'll ask the cook and see. (A few minutes later) He said that he can just fry one for you on the broiler. M- Great, thank you. A while later she brings out my sandwich and asks me if I need anything else. I bit my tongue and said no. I drop my face into my hands and sigh. Looking through my fingers I glared at the plate before me. It had the sandwich with the cream cheese and salmon, the condiments on the side, and in a little side dish bowl looking thing sits a hard boiled egg. A WHOLE hard boiled egg, that was cold. I figured it took so long because they had boiled it instead of frying it for some reason. But no, it was cold, probably from the fridge in a large container with many other eggs of the same likeness. I don't quite understand why the egg came to me hard boiled instead of fried when she told me that the cook said it could be fried. But for the love of God if you're going to give me a hard boiled egg at least slice it for me, or shop it up, give me egg salad for all I care but why would you leave it whole and slippery?! That can't go on a sandwich. So I cut it up myself with my dinner knife at my table and ate my sandwich. I did not leave a tip because she lied to me, clearly didn't have the common sense to have the egg sliced for me, nor did she apologize for there obviously not being a fried egg on my sandwich. She just acted like it didn't happen, when it was a detail that was a big part of the conversation in my ordering. Oh and she gave me lemon when I specifically asked for no lemon in my water. *sighs* Okay I'm done ranting. I really do think Toojay's is A-OK but that just really bothered me for some reason... obviously.

Closes thing to a NY Jewish deli I can get in fla. food is good and portions are a decent size. They have a huge menu with lots of selection. Even lighter and vegetarian options. And the bakery is to die for !

This a difficult review because the menu is extensive but we had only a small sampling. I got a corned beef which was lean and on incredibly fresh rye bread. But the meat did not have the fully pickled taste of a Jewish deli corned beef. The side of cole slaw was very creamy but also tasteless. My wife enjoyed her tuna melt and we also tasted the burger which was excellent. We live nearby and will likely go again but for this visit the meal was more of a let down than knock your socks off.

What can ever go wrong here. there is so much variety on the menu to please everyone! The amount of food is almost always excessive and the value is priced right. Service is good and quick!

I had a friend who raved about this place. I've been there twice now and I'm not blown away by their food or their service. This place reminds me of Max's - the restaurant which serves huge slices of cakes and other assorted sweets. Their sandwiches are definitely deli-like but it seems a bit too greasy for me. Today we received poor service. There was a wait - which is fine - but it took about 45 minutes to get our food. It also took forever for our server to come back and pick up the check so we had to sit at our table another 15 minutes after we were finished eating. I left rather irritated. If I had a hankering for banana cake I'd go, but just for that. Never again to sit and eat.

Always good, tasty, and hearty. Place will fill up for lunch and dinner rushes as well as Sunday brunch time.

It never lets me down. Favorites: matzo ball soup, shrimp salad, egg salad, whitefish salad, Mounds cake, banana dream cake, loaded latkes (not a diet food...), chili dogs... Yeah. I like it a lot. Did I mention the Mounds cake? Also: this is a great place for Sunday brunch, and for some reason it's never as crowded as you would think at that time.

Was on Orlando for a dinner this weekend. Ate at this chain restaurant and have to admit it felt like a family owned deli. It is always packed , everywhere I go and I know why now. The sandwiches and the food are awesome. Carefully prepared and blows most chain restaurants away. Deli sandwiches are special and the service superb. Of course Orlando. And the service reflects the level of food quality. Hummm pastrami and the chicken Ruben a must, great fries and entrees wow. All good . Yummy

Sorry to say TooJays in Dr. Phillips is really slipping. The breakfast this morning was not great. Potato pancakes tasted too much like matzo crackers and not like potatoes. The scramble I had was not hot and filled with tasteless like broken up potato pancakes on the bottom. No more breakfast at TooJays.

I always come to TooJays for their Matzo ball soup, Thanksgiving dinner, and black and white cookies. The food is always the same and never fails me. The service on the other hand is always horrible. I dont know what kind of people they hire, but they must not like working there. They work slower than turtles move. It won't stop me from eating at Toojays

Great food - nice atmosphere - the waitress was super friendly, singing and in great spirits - made for a nice ambience ... the matzo ball soup and the knishes (both spinach and potato) were awesome - the brisket was extremely tasty - but I had a little trouble enjoying the Corned Beef Reuben - just did not enjoy the sauerkraut that was sandwiched between the layers of corned beef - despite this the place is a #1 and will definitely be returning ...

TooJay's was a kinda cool resturant, with all the makings of a great deli with a feel of an old school diner. The menu is HUGE! They have a lot to choose from and it's all reasonable priced. If you're looking for a good sandwich or entree I would recommend this place.

Have been here a few times and the food is excellent, but the service is VERY SLOW. I would not recommend this if you are on a work lunch or have a limited amount of time. Takeout or don't have to be anywhere fine. Never had a bad meal. Every time we have gone for lunch they take an extremely long time. This last visit we were through with our meal for 20 minutes before someone came back to our table at all. We asked for the check as we needed to get back to work (they take their time to greet your table, get your food out, it's bad), they should take this into account as there are a lot of businesses around the area and most don't have all day to sit around. We got our check and it took the waitress another 15 minutes to get back out to us, then had to fix our check as she had an issue with it which took another 20. She came back said the manager had been working on it and KNEW it was an issue. You would think common sense as a manager this would have you come out and check on the table. Negative. We finally got it fixed and paid and were trying to rush out. We asked for a manager before we left. They took their time on coming out and our work was calling at this point. The manager said why don't you tell me the story of what happened- don't have time for that. We explained and he just said it shouldn't take that long. We left disappointed and late to work. We even tried to contact the corporate office to give them a chance at some sort of rectification before leaving a review. NO RESONSE, no surprise. I'm not saying the food is bad, it's great. We love that about this place. As I said before, service is just not good. If you don't have anywhere to be or aren't limited on time, this is a good place. Otherwise if you want this, my recommendation is get takeout or go somewhere else.

We arrived at approx. 12:30pm on a Sunday. There was a 15 minute wait so we just waited since we were already there. We were seated and greeted by our server. We ordered the hot pastrami sandwhich, matzo ball soup, and chicken & waffles. It took 25 minutes for our food to arrive. When our food arrived it was just...meh. The matzo soup bad noodles which is a no no. The matzo ball was bland. The waffle was extremely hard to bite into. The pastrami was just meh. Now I understand why this place was full of geriatric people. Everything is bland, it is like nursing home food. :-( I am so disappointed! Our waitress was so slow I wondered if she she went into cardiac arrest while getting our food. I was so livid you could see it on my face. The manager came to our table and asked how was everything but I just wanted to get out of that place. The waitress came and asked if she did anything wrong than proceeds to ask if she was slow. That pissed me off even more. She knows she is super slow!! I just asked her for the check. She said if she could give me dessert but I refused. This place is not for me maybe when I'm 75 I'll return.

This place has a GIGANTIC MENU, it has everything that I enjoy. I've been to TooJay twice at two different locations. Dr. Phillips location gets really busy during lunch time and my last lunch there lasted 2 hours, I will have to go to TooJay for dinner sometime to try other food.

Ordered 20 box lunch sandwiches delivered with salad and deserts. Wow that was quick and easy. Great food. Fat meat with pickle cookie chips and potato salad in the box. Fast friendly and delicious. I look forward to dining in some time

I've noticed the less than wonderful reviews of this particular Toojay's and, until this week, I would have agreed. When a client suggested we have lunch there, I had no choice but to accept the invitation. I am glad I did. Despite previous bad experiences several years ago, on this visit Toojay's seemed much cleaner than it has in the past and the staff was much more attentive. We were both seated and served in a timely manner and our waitress was friendly without being pushy. I was pleased to see a large selection of vegetarian options--items that I did not recall from previous visits many years ago. I ordered the vegetable reuben ciabatta (served with fresh fruit). It was 9 grain wheat ciabatta stuffed with all sorts of vegetables, including saurkraut, and swiss cheese. Finished with Russian dressing, it was excellent! My companion enjoyed his chicken noodle soup and turkey sandwich and both looked well prepared and well presented, although the sandwich (served with fries) could have used a bit more color in the presentation. When a restaurant stays in business longer than you think it should, it is usually a good sign that things have improved. I do think that this Toojays has improved over the years and is worth another visit if you are in the area and in need of a sandwich or other hearty fare.

Breakfast or lunch, TooJays rarely disappoints. It boasts authentic jewish delicatessen favorites like potato pancakes, matza ball soup, pastrami on rye, corned beef, knishes, decadent cakes and pastries, etc. Whenever I have family visiting they ask to go to TooJays. My personal favorite is the J&J sandwich - a heeping pile of turkey and roast beef rolled around coleslaw atop rye bread with thousand island spread. Potato pancakes are always a hit too. But basically, any deli sandwich is a winner here. Many of the entrees are good, but for first timers - stick with with the sandwiches for a more reliable experience. For dessert, try the carrot cake, rugalchs (sp?) or black and white cookies.

This is a great place to eat a quick meal and also to bring out of town company. The menu is huge with great variety. There are lots of choices. The food quality is always good. Killer chocolate cake is a favorite of the kids. Great service. There really is something everyone will like here.

I used to go to their other location a lot for lunch but I only been in this one twice. Last night We went there last night for dinner and service was very disappointing! First the hostess asked us to wait a little, then she said she was going to seat us but the waitress will take a while to show up. Almost 10 minutes later comes our waitress... she was nice and food was not bad, but she took another break when we wanted more drinks and we heard the hostess telling a new table next to us that the waitress was taking a break and we'll be there in 5 minutes. When she finally came back, we notice she was smoking outside that's why she was never around. Where is the manager????? The sandwiches are HUGE, my daughter couldn't finish even half of hers and food was ok but with that kind of service, are we going back???

Have been a number of times and the food is always excellent. This visit I had the cob salad and it was fresh, cold and large! On weekends it is jammed and staff gets a little frazzled. Even during the week it makes for a much more pleasant experience if you can avoid the peak hours. As always it pays to be pleasant and be prepared for a great meal worth the wait. Which Wich is nearby, check out their reviews.

Love my local (Vero Beach) TooJay's and was looking forward to having dinner there with family who were visiting Florida. Service was terrific...we needed to wait for everyone to arrive but had drinks as soon as we sat down. Very attentive server. Food was just as delish as the one I go to. Family members had chicken sandwiches and really seemed to enjoy them. They also had the Killer Chocolate Cake and neither could finish it. I was strong...I finished my Chocolate Cheese Delight with no problem, lol. All in all a lovely visit. I dropped down to 4 stars for this location simply because my local TooJay's has more comfortable seating with larger booths for groups.
