I've visited this location twice -- both times for business lunches. The exterior is a non-descript store front but I know that looks can be deceiving. Sadly, my experiences at Thai Cafe have been similarly unimpressive. On both occasions, I ordered tofu curries. On both occasions I was underwhelemed by a plate of bland curry sauce that was congealed and cold by the time it arrived at my table. The vegetables and tofu were ultimately tasteless and boring. Indeed, I had asked for my curry "Thai hot" on both occasions and there was no hint of heat in either dish. Service was poor. Both my companion and I ordered unsweetened tea on my most recent visit. We received sweet tea and our server seemed quite annoyed when we politely asked him to bring us unsweetened tea, There were other hiccups but we definitely got the sense that we were vey much inconveniencing our server just by sitting at his table. I give Thai Café a second star because it does seem clean. That said, I will very much try to avoid going back to Thai Café again.

I love this place! They make the (addictive) wonton soup to order. The drunken noodles is amazing, and the Thai fried rice is an enormous portion that is fantastic. Try the spring rolls too!

I really love this place. I eat here 2- 3 times a week. The best Thai food by far in downtown Orlando. Napasorn is way more expensive and doesn't compare flavor wise. The staff is ALWAYS friendly. My favorite is the Red Curry with Chicken. Their Pad's could be a bit better, but overall a great place.

Tasty Thai! It's only open for lunch Mon-Fri, 11-3pm so make sure to stop by and def check out their delicious selections and gracious customer service. The cheese rolls for an app... yes, def try. Not sure exactly what cheese is in it but is may be a mix with cream cheese. I am not even a cream cheese fan but they were good. Make sure to let them cool off, everything comes directly from taken out of the kitchen so it's HOT! I had the drunken noodles with chicken on this visit and they were delicious. I could not stop eating even after I was full. Great flavor and the noodles were the perfect texture. Only change I would make would to be add more onion but that is because i'm obsessed with onions. The decor and atmosphere is def a cafe and it's very quaint and comfy. Stop by for lunch soon, great local stop!

Possibly the best hidden gem downtown Orlando! No one knows about this small but amazing Thai cafe. All there curries are unbelievably good and the prices are just as good!

The food is acceptable but not great. The servers are acceptable but not great. Every time I've gone here, I'm left standing in the door way for 10 minutes until an employee finally bothers to tell me that there will be a wait. On two of the two occasions, there have been tables with dirty dishes that just need to be cleaned off, but, still, I wait an extra 10 minutes until it is cleaned. Terrible place if you're trying to squeeze in a lunch during work.

I love this place!! I get the same thing every single time!! The summer rolls are a great but make sure you get extra peanut butter sauce!! I also get the Pad Thai with Chicken, I get it a little spicy but the spicy goes a long way, so watch out!! It's a must try in the downtown area!!

Thai is among my favorite foods in the World and I am still in shock as to how bad the Thai food is in Orlando or if the food is edible how ridiculously small the portions are. This place is the poster child that refutes the theory that you can't ruin thai food. The portions are tiny and the chicken is very tough (what little they give you of it) and I suspect at times old. I tried this place 3 times just to make sure I tried various things. The portion to go on the Panang Curry is basically the size of a cup of soup. Why can't someone bring viable Asian to downtown Orlando? The only Chinese is Empire Schezuan which is on par with the worst Chinese I've ever had. I've been in sales and traveled to two to three hundred cities and never seen a worse collective group of restaurants anywhere. This place could only be appealable to someone who has never been outside of a five mile radius of downtown Orlando. The food is shamefully bad and the owners and chefs should have more pride than to present this product.

My boyfriend and I order to-go lunch from here at least once a week if not more and are never disappointed in the menu selections. For $8.95 you get a good portion entree, ginger salad and two spring rolls for their daily lunch special. All of the curries are really tasty, chicken satay appetizer is delish, phuket pineapple fried rice, and give you a large portion of tilapia if you prefer a fish dish. The only dish I am so-so about is their Pad Thai - I am probably used to have it prepared in a different way - it's still good though. The staff is always very friendly and speedy - used to the lunch rush which is good. Would recommend this spot to others!

This is a low profile little Thai cafe in downtown Orlando. This place serves up consistently good Thai food. The seating is sort of small, but the line of people picking up "to go" orders is pretty long. The staff moves fast with that, so it looks like a good place to pop in and grab a take out order. For table service the speed is a bit slower. The place is slammed with customers at lunchtime so the staff did well to accommodate getting everyone's orders in a timely manner. I've tried the red curry here before, it's really lovely. Today I had the spring rolls and the beef noodle soup. The spring rolls were good, just what you would expect; fresh, crispy, and delicious. The beef noodle soup was like Vietnamese pho, but without all the extra veggies, it was simple and so so good. It warmed up my soul. Lean tender beef, rice noodles, savory broth, cilantro, and chopped green onion-perfectly simple and so many dimensions of flavor. The soup bowl was huge and lunch was really reasonable. I would come here again in a heartbeat. I was eyeing the basil eggplant stir fry with rice for next time. Definitely coming back here!

I've heard good things about Thai Cafe from two separate friends so I decided to check it out. Based on the menu pictures, it looked like dishes were $9 a piece but be warned prices increase for dinner. I ordered delivery and the food came fairly quickly approx 30min. The duck curry was delicious and the portion was large. It also came with a small salad. My girlfriend got a fish dish whose name I can't remember but per her it was good. The total price for the fish and duck dish was $31 after tax. My guess is that the dishes were $13-15, which is significantly more than the $9 cited on the menu. That's a pretty large uptick just for dinner, but the food was good and the delivery was fast, so I'll still come back.

This will be a short one until I go back to update. I went in on a whim to grab some take-out today. The place itself is small and there's no hostess stand so unless someone sees you, you're not quite sure where to go to place your order. Fortunately a lady saw me and I went towards the kitchen to place my order. I the till is at the entrance to the kitchen which seems odd and it was weird to be able to see into the kitchen so easily. While I didn't see anything that worried me, it did seem cluttered back there. So I place my order and my food was ready very quickly, which was great. For being a lunch special, it cost a few more bucks than other Thai places I've been to, but it wasn't bad. When I got home I started eating my tofu massaman curry and the flavor was awesome! The only problem for me is I have severe allergies to dairy and nuts (except peanuts, since they are technically a legume). I've never experienced a curry made with anything but coconut milk, but this one must have had either cow's milk or nuts other than peanuts (which is not what's in a traditional massaman dish), because I had a bad reaction within two quick bites. So while yes I kinda almost died, the taste and efficiency of the place was on point! I just wish they'd stick to how massaman is made at every other Thai place. The only other reasoning I could think of for the reaction was cross-contamination, which wouldn't surprise me considering the untidiness of the kitchen. Still, I will go back to try another dish- only I'll for sure ask about ingredients next time! (The only reason I didn't was because I assumed all Thai places followed the same general recipe, oops!)

This is my go-to place for my Pad Thai fix when I'm at work (I work at the courthouse in downtown Orlando) and it's always great! The restaurant is a nice spot for lunch, and if you are a fan of Thai cuisine you are going to like what you find here. Get there early because it fills up, especially on Fridays. The specials are usually a great value, and the Thai Iced Tea is just dee-lish!!!

The Tom Yum Seafood soup is quite delicious. It taste like the veggies came straight from the garden. What is interesting that the large is almost $9 and the small is $4. I went for the small. The large is served in a Jethro-sized bowl. The summer roll was interesting. I think since it was served cold, I was a little turned off by it. I will have to try it again. Also, the salad with a peanut sauce dressing was good. Service was pleasant - servers were very nice!

Until today, I have never bought lunch, taken one bite, and thrown it away. The Pad Thai was a sticky clump of rice noodles, peanuts, bean sprouts. Bland chicken with a chlorine aftertaste covered w/ a mysterious orange sauce. Don't waste your money or sacrifice your tastebuds. Go elsewhere.

Fantastic! Wow - I am not used to Thai food and don't eat it too often, but I recommend this Thai restaurant 100%. I never even knew it was there, and I have been working downtown for three years. One of my favorite lunch places ever downtown. Would be great for dinner too! Our lunch group all ordered different items, so we got to taste around, but I have to say mine was the best. I ordered the Drunken Noodles and mmm mmm good they were. Egg type noodles with chicken, basil, and onions, DELICIOUS! The peanut curry, pad thai, and fried rice were also dynamite! Staff is very sweet, and can handle a big group of people which is important. In addition prices on the dishes are fantastic, and I spent $7 for my lunch, which is superb in Downtown Orlando. I will be coming back here more often, and want to try more. That is why I marked a 4 out of 5 since it was my first time.

I have been to Thai Cafe at least 50 times. The food and service is consistently good. The staff is friendly and remembers what kind of dishes I like. I usually have the chicken pad thai but have had the curry dishes as well. The only thing that bothers me is they don't take american express.

I just discovered this place down the street from work. Super yum! The food was fast and fresh and affordable. I got the red curry chicken special set at mild. It was still spicy enough to make my nose run, but not so bad that I wanted to cry. Really flavorful and there was tons of food, too. I'll definitely be back.

First timer there, good entre' (Panang curry) - - little too much peanut dressing on the salad, though or would've been a 5 star

Stopped here after going to the downtown post office last week because I was starving to death and had nothing in the fridge at home. Delicious!! Looked like a cute lunch place, but I did take out, and the owner told us they deliver too ... but when you live less than a block away, how lazy does that make you? If they say spicy, they mean it! I appreciated that, but I know some people aren't so into the hot stuff. And the pad thai was fantastic.

I come here at least twice a week and I have sampled their curries all very good, and especially like the Chicken Tom Yum. If you like it spicy make sure you say extra extra spicy, cause I think the first time they were afraid it would be too spicy...not a chance. They take a break between 3-6pm from lunch to dinner. The lunch seems to be the busiest, as it is always easy for me to grab take out for dinner.

Just moved downtown and saw the Thai Cafe was nearby. I stopped by for lunch today and had the red curry lunch special. Nice portions for a lunch special with a reasonable price. Friendly staff and quiet lunch atmosphere. I will be back!

I got the lunch special which came with the entree, salad, and spring rolls for only $8.95 and it was a ton of food and not those anorexic portions. I got the chicken pad thai which was served with extra peanuts on the side. Really fast service during rush time!

Stumbled across them today from just walking around downtown Orlando I'm a huge Thai food fan as well as very picky and this place was super! Fast, friendly and great portion size. Highly recommend!

Solid little spot, looking forward to going back. Got a spicy dish (don't remember the name) that had great flavor, decent portion size. Came with a salad all at a reasonable price and good service. Good first experience look forward to the next one.

Went to this place for lunch with some coworkers, being that I am big Thai food fan, I was excited. The exterior may be a little bland but I'm not one to judge a book by its cover. The waiter who sat us wasn't very responsive and seemed quite uninterested. I worked in the service industry for a number of years so this kind of service can get under my skin. But again I thought I'd let it slide. We have our orders and our food came out at a decent pace. The salad and the dressing was just O.K. and my spring rolls were just okay. So again I thought I'll let it slide, surly there has to be a reason why this place has been in business and stays in business downtown. I ordered Pad Se Ew, others ordered Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Seafood and rice (shrimp and scallops), and Orange Curry. When the meal was all said and done everything was just as the facade of the business suggested, plain. Nothing seemed to stand out - I really wanted this to be a new place to go, but I have to say this isn't the best Thai downtown, so it won't be my first choice.

I ordered the chicken pad Thai and the portions were huge! I've been to Thailand and rest assured this is genuine Thai food. Best in Orlando so far.

This is my go to place for Thai downtown. I always get the same few things - yellow chicken/beef curry, pad Thai or the chicken house salad with peanut dressing. You can't go wrong with any of those! Very delicious! And I'm picky when it comes to Thai food. And they deliver too! Just placed an order.

Had lunch here today because my favorite Lebanese restaurant in the area is no longer, replaced by a so called Korean joint with not much to offer. I had chicken with vegetables in peanut sauce. It came with a very nondescript salad. They could also afford to juice up the chop sticks, which were so rudimentary that I was worried about splinters. The unsweet tea was tasty and served in a tall glass, just the thing after a heated game of tennis

Great food great prices - try to avoid rush hour. Thai Cafe is a fantastic place to get a tasty and affordable lunch. Their menu has a lot of variety and plenty of healthier options. Their portions are also large and I almost always can make two meals out of an order. However the reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the service is very hit or miss. It's clear they are trying their best - but don't ever seem to have enough staff when the lunch crowd hits.

Officially in love with this place. My boyfriend and I ordered delivery from there tonight and they were so friendly on the phone. The nice girl said about 35-40 minutes which was no problem for us. (typical delivery time so whatevs) They came within 20 minutes! We both got chicken Pad Thai which came with a cute side salad with amazing ginger dressing. (I also must of missed it in the description but i was okay with it. Such a nice surprise/lil something extra) All in all this place is fantastic. We are now offically instating ourselves as regulars. :) We will be back.

Always delightful. Friendly service, good food, hard to beat! The food here seems entirely authentic, and much better than any other place in town. They are never busy, so the service sparkles! All in all, it's hard to ask for a better restaurant experience!

Their Panang curry is okay but could use more flavor. I like their house salad with ginger dressing and the fact that they give it to you even when getting take out. Their rice sometimes tends to be overcooked and mushy. The green curry is too bland. I did not like the drunken noodles.

3 Stars for a decent lunch at a reasonable price. A downtown spot I haven't tried yet? Sign me up! We started with summer rolls which were good but not anything special. Sometimes something as simple as presentation can elevate a seemingly unremarkable dish to another level, but the presentation just wasn't there. That being said- it was lunch and they were busy so I don't fault them. I ordered the drunken noodles based on the servers recommendation. He mentioned that they're the only restaurant that uses those particular noodles for that dish. I really loved the texture of the noodles (flat and wide) and the fish was not bad (maybe a tad salty, but it wasn't offensive). The only big issue I had was finding multiple egg shells in the dish. Once I found one I felt compelled to inspect each bite and just kept finding small fragments. Cracks happen. Egg shells sometimes slip through. But it was something that turned me off from the meal and I didn't end up finishing the leftovers I took home. In the end three stars is fitting because it was "A-OK." I probably won't seek it out again but wouldn't mind if someone wanted to meet there for a meal.

Got here feeling horrible (had nothing to do with their food) we went during the lunch rush... Biggest mistake ever. It was SO SO loud in there I could barely even hear my husband speaking to me, and it got so overwhelming we asked for our food to go. Already feeling bad all that noise didn't make it better. I don't have any complaints about the food, it was really good. My suggestion is take out if you're going during lunch. Will we be back? Maybe but not during lunch. If you want peace and quiet while you eat, this isn't the place.

What a glorious discovery for week day lunches. There are lunch specials. Fast friendly service. The food is incredibly delicious. I highly recommend it.
