We always stop at Sal's Market for quick lunch, snack, or coffee. The service is always nice, prices expectable in a restaurant at similar hotel. One star lost for recently changed menu. The Donatello sandwich was the best thing there and it is gone.

Very good in every way. I loved their pizzas and salads. We ate there a couple of times. Perhaps a bit expensive but I think quite good for a hotel deli pizzeria.

After a long day at the park and you want a quick bite...Sal ' s is a great place to go. And don't forget the 10% off if you pay with Amex but you have to ask for it. The cheese pizza was delicious (for a non topped pizza but that's what my kids liked). The Italian sandwich was huge...As a snack good for two. And the spaghetti and meatball was great as well. Service was prompt...Our kids have nut allergies so when asked, stay away from the bread (made off site). Im still thinking about the pizza.

This place is of great value compare to the Universal Studio's theme park restaurants as well as other more up-scale restaurants in PortoFino Bay Hotel. The pizza was fairly decent but it took a solid 50 mins wait for a take out order of a large plain pie on a Friday night around 9 pm. The food was okay but the wait was unbearable when one is hungry!

I had a Hawaiian pizza with sausage and mushroom. It was much more tasty than I expected. Love it so much!

Not much good to say about this place. 3 paninis, yogurt, salad, and a cheese plate totaled about $70, worse than theme park prices. The insides of the paninis were cold, the cheese was bad (how hard could it be), the salad/yogurt OK, the meat not deli quality. There's no real service to speak of other than them bringing food to your table so not much to rate there. 1 star means I'd never go back and that's certainly the case here. If you do go, pizza is probably the best option.

You're came here to relax, now do it! I just wanted a quick bite to eat and ended up here! So far so good, what a great find for an easy-peasy Italian pizza located in the market/quad area of the Portofino Hotel. The place is small and pretty fancy with all the Italian decor and the cool displays of Moretti beer. Had an authentic touch, which was as women would say, "cute". I'd say if you're gonna eat here, eat outside in the patio area. Here you'll enjoy the view the little bay and water taxis. I ordered the Procuitto Pizza (small, 6 slices) for $12.99. This had procuitto slices, cream sauce, caramelized onions, and shave parmeasan. It's decent in taste for what it was. It came out fast and loved it from first bite. Then as I yelped on, it started to remind me of Pizza Piology. And I'm not a fan of Piology either, although I prefer this pizza pie over theirs! Notes: ~ Large pizzas, $14.99 (8 slices) ~ Their specialties are the Margherita, Hawaiian, Salvatore, Primavera, and BBQ Chicken pizza. ~ $7.50 for a glass of wine (from a glass-sized plastic) ~ Service was okay. No issue. ~ Sandwiches, salads, and desserts also offered. ~ I see myself coming back to try something different. Ciao!

Is Sal's the best pizza in the world? No, but it's very good as is the other food we had here. Sal's is an affordable and family friendly option if you are dining at the Portofino Bay Hotel. A large pie will cost you about $15 and will serve 3 or 4. We tried the margarita pizza with pepperoni, cheese pizza, fried mozzarella, and chicken tenders. All were tasty and fresh. Also on the menu are subs, paninis, appetizers, and a kid's menu. Wine and beer are also available for dine-in or carry out. We will definitely return here next time we are at the Portofino.

This place was ok. The sandwiches were better than the pizza. I liked the housemade chips that accompany the sandwiches. Since it's a hotel restaurant it's pricey already, but the Caesar salad is way overpriced for what you get. Sal's is connected to the gelato place next door, and the hot fudge brownie sundae there is probably the best value out of all the food of all the restaurants there, it's $7 and probably feeds 4. I asked for cherries instead of chocolate sprinkles and they were very generous.

I loved their Starbucks coffee in the morning which this hotel didn't really have any coffee shop. We got hot sandwiches like meatball and sausage. They are authentic and fresh. I loved the potato chips which are thick and crisp. It seems like the chef made them fresh from the kitchen.

I had hopeful expectations for Sal's pizza while at Lowe's Portofino Hotel. They were hand tossing the dough, open flaming oven, it must be authentic here at Portofino? We ordered the Margherita. Authentic, it was not, thin it was not and good it was not. A too cool oven allowed the thin dough to rise. Instead of a crispy thin crust we got a way too thick crust with a gooey layer between the bottom of the crust and the garlic blown tomato sauce. It was also topped with thick slices of fresh tomato that made it not only inauthentic but watery. So sad and soo expensive we left the remainder that even a bad papa johns would have earned a ride home.

Average food. Prices are inflated because of the hotel. Has nice outdoor seating and occasional nightly music. We ordered sandwiches that were over priced at 11.99 each.

Located at the Loew's Portofino, this is one of several restaurants to choose from and the most casual. I was wanting something low-key as I was winding down and somewhat healthy. I ordered the Antipasta and it surpassed my expectations... awesome with tons of olives and the works. This is coming from someone who's not a fan of those types of salads. I instantly felt "healthier" ingesting all those olives! I also ordered a small sausage brick oven pizza. This could have easily fed two. It was delicious and not at all salty. This cute deli also has a gelato section adjacent to it, but I did not have room for dessert. There were also croissants and other desserts to choose from as well. There's an array of wine (regular size to cute little bottles) to choose from. I would say this place is great for families with young ones if you don't want to disrupt other patrons and need a casual place to just chillax. I sat outside on a nice (non-humid for 80 degrees) evening and the service was awesome. I ordered my food and sat outside. The server/manager brought my order out in a very timely manner and was very friendly and accomodating. If I ever stay here again, I would def come back.

Wanting to try something different for one of our meals during our stay at Universal, we went to this place as it was one of the simpler options available at the Portifino Bay where we were staying. Other reviews didn't look promising, but better than many nearby. We shared a large 8 slice cheese pizza, fried mozzarella sticks, and garlic bread sticks. The pizza wasn't as bad as I feared, but far from the best I've had. The garlic bread sticks were decent and the mozzarella was good. While more expensive than it would have been outside of a hotel or theme park setting, it wasn't as outrageous as some meals I've had. While I certainly wouldn't choose this place if I had a car to go elsewhere, it was acceptable enough for hotel food. An unfortunate price to pay for the convenience.

Simple Italian menu that does what it is suppose to: Fill you up and give you energy. Service - Average Food - Average 1. Margherita Pizza - Slightly doughy crust. 2. Garlic Bread Sticks - Soft and warm with more butter than garlic. 3. Antipasto Salad - Best thing here! Tons of chopped cold cuts and whole olives with dark greens.

Best place at universal orlando and can not be beat in price. 14 .00 for a large brick oven pizza and it is awesome.

Pizza, sandwiches and really good salads. Ice cream is excellent. Counter service to order and food is brought to your table. Eating outside is really nice.
