When I first entered, it was like I was sucked into a new world. The atmosphere was very appealing. I got the meat lovers pizza and It was really flavorful. I could taste the mozzarella. For dessert I got tiramisu, it was a little too sweet, but delicious nonetheless.

I have visited this place a few times for a late lunch and I have enjoyed each visit. I have been going with the boyfriend everytime and we usually stick to one thing, the stromboli. A small stromboli can definitely feed two people and you will be content after. Besides the stromboli we have hit a few other things on the menu. Tried a pizza once and it was good. I realize I am not used to mozzarella on pizza because you can tell the difference as this cheese is very chewy but also tasty ( btw there is also mozzarella in the stromboli). If you get something premeal a side salad is nice but they also make homemade soups. I think the first time we went I tried one and it was so delicious. I know it changes everyday. If you are really hungry after eating and have a sweet tooth you can try the fried cheesecake. That is their bigger estate dessert, and I would recommend sharing. It is a little smaller than the small stromboli and will send you over the end of full (I think I posted a pick a while back). I would say you should give it a try if you haven't been since the remodel. The waitress there is friendly. The food may not be quick but it is worth it. Also I don't consider it loud.

It has been a few years since my last visit and that one was meh. The food was ok but the decor was dingy and I saw a dead cockroach in the ladies room (at least it was dead). Fast forward to now. The place has been remodeled and much nicer looking inside. No roaches (that I could see). Service was pretty friendly. The pizza was just ok though. I would definitely eat it again but I wouldn't go bragging to friends about it. I also think their price point its a little high for a neighborhood joint. I am rooting for them but I think they really need to step up their game if they are going to keep competing in the area where there are some pretty good alternatives. Maybe next time I will try one of their pasta dishes again...

My favourite pizza outside of Naples, Italy. You must order the "Hot Head Pizza" If you like it spicy. Local spot. Not touristy. Food cooked to order. Italian food that makes you feel like you are back in a small neighborhood in Italy. It's a hole in the wall. I love it. I bring all of my friends here.

After my wife finished her studies we were trying to decide where to go to grab a bite to eat. Well tonight my wife was not very hungry so she left it up to me and I suggested we give O'Stromboli's a try. I have been wanting to try this place for a while because a few people we know have raved about the food there. We walked in and it was empty but considering it was well past 9, we were not surprised. I was hoping to try the pasta fagioli or wedding soup but tonight it was broccoli and cheese or French onion soup. I opted for a bowl of the broccoli and cheese along with a Stromboli. Mama just wanted a cup of the broccoli cheese soup and a piece of my Stromboli. The soup was brought to us and the presentation could have been better but taste is really where it is at. I tasted the soup and it was very bland in my opinion. Since I was still finishing my coffee from Starbucks I thought maybe my taste buds were off and had a second taste but it was just not working for me. I asked my wife what she thought and she said it was bland and we both just pushed it to the side. Our server took it away and one of the other staff members inquired about the soup. I let them know we both thought it was very bland. I was now concerned that the Stromboli would not live up to its reputation. SIGH A little while later the Stromboli arrived. The presentation was wonderful. It was baked to a beautiful golden brown and my nose was working overtime in a good way. I started with a taste of the Marinara sauce and it was apparent that this was made with love and NOT from a jar. I cut off a piece for my wife and another for myself and we dug in. I very quickly forgot all about the soup and was now in Stromboli heaven. The taste took me back to my youth when pap and I used to make some Stromboli together. The dough had a slight sweetness to it that complimented the salty of the meat inside. The ingredients inside were the right size, evenly distributed and cooked JUST RIGHT. I took my time and savored EVERY BITE of that Stromboli and expressed my approval to the server. In spite of the soup being a fail I plan to return... That Stromboli tells me that the other Italian dishes on the menu are worth checking out. I am just hoping it was just an off day for the soup I ordered and I would recommend that they just stick to the traditional Italian soups. A bit more care to the presentation is also recommended. You know this has been a neighborhood go to joint for the longest time and finally I feel it is one of my favorite places to go. New owners have reinvented the space and the menu has been completely overhauled, thank The Lord!!! I love the mussels and cream in the app menu, they are so accommodating that they will serve it over pasta so I can enjoy it as an entree. The pizza rocks any way you get it and the marinara sauce is a favorite. We love the staff and servers and always feel like we are treated like family. They are attentive and aim to please They have a solid selection of draft beers and nice wines. But I would caution that they not serve wines that have been open more than a day. People who regularly drink wine can tell the difference. They have a great dessert selection and though we never have room because their portions are so generous, we always take one home! Thanks for turning our neighborhood Italian eatery into our fav go to spot! Love you guys!

I'm so glad that the previous owners of this place sold it; the new owners have upgraded the place in multiple ways. It no longer smells terrible, the decor is significantly nicer, and the food is better tasting. Quick lunches here are always nice. Their salads are delicious, and I love adding grilled chicken to the top. The house dressing is one of my favorites around town!! I like their pizza, but it isn't *that* good. Maybe its because for a while, I ate it so often while working down the street, but it just doesn't compete with some of the other local pizza places around town. My biggest gripe about this place is that they're slow. To get a quick lunch, I generally had to tell the server the moment I sat down what I wanted. She never came around to tables regularly, and it took way too long to have what should have been a quick lunch. To get take out, I always had to call 30 minutes ahead to get a salad with chicken on top, and even still, I was often left waiting for my food. It's a salad. You don't have to cook it. Chicken doesn't take 30 minutes to grill. Come on now folks...

With a heavy sigh, I have to write another review for an Italian restaurant that put way too much salt in their food. This time I ordered their lemon chicken soup, which I think was a special for the day. I thought I was going to get something like a Greek Avgolemeno, but when it came out it looked different. So I took my first bite and all I could taste was mostly salt. I thought it was just me, so I had a friend take a bite and she thought the same thing. I made a mistake in ordering a full bowl, so felt forced to finish as much as I could (I don't like wasting food, especially when an animal had to die for it). I don't come here very often...maybe once a year. I remember liking their pizza, and my friend did enjoy the pizza she ate. The service was also very good overall. Maybe I just got the wrong dish, and I will try to visit here again for another opinion.

We picked O'Stromboli's tonight because it was close by where we were meeting a friend to deliver some art ahebhad purchased. We had eaten there several years ago and thought it'll do. What a pleasant surprise! O'Stromboli's has been completely remodeled and defiantly upgraded. The now smaller space is more intimate and pretty. Our meals were delish and both of us cleaned our plate! I had the Chicken Piccata. I only wish we had saved room for dessert. Our server was very nice and helpful. It was a "relaxed" meal meaning don't plan on getting our quickly. We didn't mind but I could see others being annoyed at the time it took to get their meal. Over all, we will definitely be returning and much sooner than our last visit of approximately 3 years.

We stopped in to check this place out since it was nearby some bars we were going to bounce around in Audubon Park. The decor was modernized with nice lighting and looked recently renovated as the outside of the building was a bit dated. We were greeted by a gentleman at the front who was sitting down and made no attempt to get up to seat us - he handed off the menus to someone else passing by. Our server promptly brought us water while we looked at the drink menu. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir which tasted as though the bottle had been open for a few days. I'm not drinking a bottle I opened 2 days earlier on my couch - certainly not what I would expect from a restaurant. We started with the calamari which has a bit heavy on the breading but seasoned ok. It was served with an Asian Thai chili sauce. I was at an Italian restaurant so I expected a nice marinara, a little odd choice but we went with it. For entrees, I ordered the chicken piccata which came with either soup or salad. I opted for the house salad which the server said had a mix or romain and I asked for the house Italian dressing. My salad came with only iceberg lettuce, onion, tomato and olives and the dressing was very bland. It's just a salad, I'm sure the meals would be great (at least I hoped). For $14.50, I expected much more. Instead I was brought pasta with thick piccata sauce (traditionally wine based - this seamed closer to Alfredo with less cheese) capers and clearly frozen chicken strips on top. The chicken had no color and tasted like it had been popped in the Mike and tossed with the sauce. I sent it back because the chicken was so dry. They offered to make me something else but I gave them the opportunity to fix the chicken. While I waited we tasted the sausage and peppers dish my friends ordered. The sausage was tough and a bit chewy. The sauce tasted on par with something from a jar that was doctored up. Just ok not restaurant quality. I smacked on the garlic knots which I will say were tasty! Plenty of garlic oil and cheese and maybe a little over cooked but fortunately - I like mine a bit charred on the ends for flavor. So it worked. When the server brought my re-cooked chicken it was of course the same frozen chicken but at least cooked better this time. I took it in a to-go box (still in my fridge this morning). Certainly not any leftovers I'm excited to eat. The server apologized about the food but no discount was offered or even a small token dessert - they weren't busy so perhaps the manager could have came by to make sure the second plate was better - maybe that's an expected level of service that's too high for this place sadly. I love family owned local Italian restaurants - and want to see them thrive. I feel as though they took the time to improve the ambiance, now it's time to upgrade the food. Calling Robert Irvine!

I've been to O'stromboli a few times and I think they have pretty good pizza! I've only ever had the pizza so I can only comment on that but it's always fresh, has good flavor, and I never have to wait too long. They're not usually busy for dine in, but they have a nice environment. So, whether it's take out or dine in, I think you'll like O'stromboli for some nice italian :) Check it out!

Things seems to get a bit worse every time we go. I really hope things improve quickly because their Happy Hour is AWESOME! 2.00 dollar draft beers and 2.00 off wines. Not too bad. The Grand Marnier Mussels are wonderful. Great flavor to the sauce, fresh mussel, and delicious bread. Worth a visit just for those. However, every things else just was not that good. They claim to make their own ravioli, but after we charged a different price then what the menu stated, the manager informed us they were using different raviolis. Huh? Just not a ton of flavor and coated with cheese. My wife enjoyed her Mediterranean pasta dish with capers and pine nuts. Also overcharged for that dish as well. Apparently, the price difference was the up sell on the anchovies. Did I mention we had the appetizer, salads, and entrees all at the table at the same time? Yup. Salads came out 1 minute after the appetizer, with entrees arriving before we were half done with the mussels. Timing people, timing! We are asked for desert and brought the check before we finished our entrees. I have seen this anomaly at the end of dinner service, but we were the first ones in, and the only ones in. I love my neighborhood places, but it will take some time before I go back to eat.

Great little neighborhood spot. We tried it out for the first time this week. No bike racks to speak of which is kind of a bummer but also surprisingly common around here. Nothing is really handmade or anything here but they do a nice job with what they're serving, all the food tasted good and portions were good sized. Pizza seems to be popular from the reviews but we went for pasta - ravioli and an eggplant parm. Decent selection of modestly priced wines as well, we had a very enjoyable Pinot Noir around the $25 range. I do wish they'd keep the wine a bit cooler, even for red 80 degree/room temp seems a bit much.

Was tossing back some good ol fashioned brew dogs next door at Big Daddy's and realized that I hadn't a thing to eat since a bowl of Cheerios about 7 hours prior. If I wanted to avoid becoming a wasted mess, I'd need to get something a little more substantial in me stomach than just malted barley, hops and boozy shots of liquor. Bartender told me they could order from the Italian place next door and have it walked over. Great success! Asked for a large pepperoni with double cheese, no sweat. Was sitting at a table outside with a few friends when the piping hot pie arrived. Just took a matter of minutes (honestly, say 10-15 tops). Opened the box, my lord do they do extra cheese right. We decided it was in all of our best interest to perhaps let it cool down a little or the cheese would probably slip slide right off of each slice once it's pulled away from he group. Couldn't wait that long though, it just looked and smelled to damn good. Unfortunately, yes, the cheese in all it's copious glory did end up sliding off the slices as we pulled each portion out, but no matter, just went back and scooped it up. The top was a tad greasy--no big deal, lotsa pizzas are. If you want you can dab it off lightly with a napkin to try and soak it up a bit. Tasty thin crust cooked evenly, the peperoni was ample and the cheese we already know about. Big slices for boys that're drinking and it hit the spot. Great service, quick and delicious. Thumbs up.

I love pizza, so having recently moved to Winter Park, I set out to find the best. The funny thing is that this place was kind of far down on the list of places to try initially because I didn't have the highest expectations. I was misled, I think, by some of the other reviews (maybe things were different under previous owners?). Having finally gotten around to O'Stromboli after trying MANY other places, I have awarded them the best pizza crown. Perfect medium thickness crust. Delicious cheese. Zesty and flavorful sauce. AND they deliver. AND they are practically in my neighborhood. Now all they need is some gluten free pizza for my husband...

This is truly a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with a small and friendly bar if you're in the mood to chat. The owners are fastidious with quality of food. I haven't been to this place in years and the decor has definitely changed (upgrade!). This seems to be everyone's go-to spot for take out pizza to eat at Redlight and yesterday I thought I'd give it a go. We decided to dine in and I actually like the fact that the restaurant is quite small and cozy. The server was nice and our water glasses were always full and replenished! We ordered the small veggie pizza (in an attempt to make ourselves feel more healthy...) and when it came it was really good. Though I enjoyed it, I don't see myself ever having a hankering for one of their pizzas versus another Italian restaurant. Also, it took over 30 minutes for our pizza to arrive. I could hear all of the takeout calls coming in (it was a Friday night afterall), and could tell that they were a bit swamped so I didn't mind the wait this time, but I hope it won't take as long normally. Overall good experience. I will definitely revisit the review when I order off of their non-pizza menu!

This restaurant has some of the best stromboli I've had, and their homemade soups are always excellent. If your lucky enough to go on a night when the roasted garlic soup is available, try it, one of the best soups I've eaten. The service is always great, and the new owner truly seems like he cares about making this place a success. We will continue to dine here and hope the word spreads about how great this little restaurant is.

No flavor. I asked for pepperoni in my calzone but I think they forgot as there were about 4 slices. The Stromboli was pretty decent but again the dipping sauce was so sour. This corner has been the proud home of Italian eateries for decades (Sandroni's, Ciotti's) and we've given the current O'Stromboli's a few tries since opening. The initial owner was nice, but the food not so much. While the latest owners have a better handle on what Italian should taste like, the finished product and customer service is definitely lacking. More importantly, when your employees make a mistake, every effort should be made to satisfy the customer...behaving unprofessional simply adds insult to injury.

Ate here last night ( a Sunday night) because it so happened the place we planned was closed on Sunday. I'm actually quite surprised I've never reviewed this place before. First thing about Strobolis- you try their Stromboli! It's truly one of the best I've ever had! I used to live right down the street and would often order take out from here. Ok, but tonight me and my friend both ordered calzones. Appetizer of cheesesticks and house salads. Honestly, it had been awhile since I've been here. The decor has changed for the better-small place but nice booths and wall decor. Typically, I'm a beer guy and noticed they have several taps for a small venue. The food- good! The service? Very attentive. Calzones? Amazing- my fave part was the sauce on the side- a little sweet but tasted very original. I had pepperoni with calamari olives in mine- very good. Maybe only complaint is the salad plate was a little small - my salad was falling off as I ate it- I'm admittedly a bad reviewer when it comes to Italian places - I go for simple - pizza or a calzone maybe where I feel like the true test of good Italian is their pasta! However, if your local and looking for the aforementioned this place was great!

I started eating at O'Stromboli when it became walking distance. I've seen it change owners once or twice, back in 2008 or so the owners were great, then some other owners came in and it went down hill. Now it is under new ownership the last couple years (summer 2011 maybe?) and its improved a lot. The pizza is always good when I dine in or have it delivered. Their specials are usually really good too. I had a mussel dish with a Grand Marnier sauce that was to DIE FOR. Best dish I've ever had there under the new ownership. The staff and new owners are really great. Very friendly and professional, and they support the surrounding businesses which is a huge plus. The staff is really the reason I eat there as often as I do. I'm in there at least once a week, it feels like they are a neighbor to me. I recently had a birthday party at a nearby business, and my amazing boyfriend surprised me with a huge sheet of tiramisu as my birthday cake! My boyfriend collaborated with O'Stromboli and Taps From Scratch (where the party was) to have my cake set up without me knowing! Tiramisu is my faaaaaaavorite, and its always absolutely delicious at O'Strom's. My favorite staff members and the owner were even there to sing me happy birthday! I was really impressed with this cake. I love that they don't serve the pre-packaged tiramisu cups like some pizza places. O'Stromboli tiramisu has a more home made touch to it being served on a plate or put in a to go box. The huge sheet of tiramisu ordered special for my birthday proved that it is more home made and personal, making it look less like a product and more like a family dessert. I'm impressed with the sense of community that the new ownership has established at O'Stromboli. They have a loyal customer with me!

Not going to lie, the exterior of this place turned me off. The big sign looks a little generic, and I couldn't tell they were even open... BUT... The inside has a nice cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the veal carbonora and it was SOOOO goood. I wasn't crazy about the veal, but I am not really sure if I like veal even (I have never ordered it before then). The sauce itself was amazing. While visiting a friend in Orlando, we wanted to stop for drinks at a local bar - Redlight, Redlight was our first choice and since we needed to grab a bite before the drinks, O'Stomboli was perfectly located across the street. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we were promptly seated at the booth of our choosing. The staff was friendly and answered any questions we had. Between the three of us, we ordered two medium pizzas and had 3 slices left to take home. Our pizza choices were the White Pizza and the Bianca, both very tasty and not too greasy. The crust was a bit thinner than I would have personally liked, but that wasn't too big of an issue. I would have enjoyed some bread at the table since it took a few minutes to get our pizzas ready (they are made fresh, which is another big plus!) and we had just arrived to the area after a day of traveling. All in all, this place was an average Italian eatery. I would call it tasty and recommend it to a friend.

Ordered takeout. Pizzas were burnt on the bottom, like charred black burnt. I posted a picture so you know I'm not making it up, it was really burnt. Cheese was really thick, and the pizza was cut too early so all the cheese melted back together so you couldn't pull the pieces apart, plus the cheese had slid to one side. Had to wait about 10 minutes longer than the stated time, even though there were three people in the restaurant total. It took them 35 minutes, I'm guessing, because it takes longer to burn a pizza than simply cook it. I wasn't impressed.

Oh, just keep driving! There are way too many places in the area that know how to make pizza and pasta for you to waste you time and taste buds on this place! I live close by so I have given this place more than one chance over the years and have tried both the pizza and pastas. Inside the atmosphere is divy, and the servers seem miserable. The pizza is OK, but kind of greasy-they all olive oil to the crust, so the oil is both on the cheese and your hands. The pasta I got (recommended by the server), chicken picatta, was also laden in oil and lacked any flavor. My sons raviolis looked just like the frozen ones we get from Publix, and the sauce was simply not good. When there Del Dios, Boardwalk, la Bella Luna, Red Brick, Mellow Mushroom, etc for pizza, and il Pescatore over by fashion square for excellent pasta (and pizza), there is really no need to go here, I promise.

I have been here before the new owners and was appalled. But I have been here so many times since the new owner took over and what a difference! The food is amazing now, so much better. But the real gem of O'Stromboli is Lea Ann, the waitress. She is attentive, knowledgeable, and completely fabulous! If you have been here before July of 2012, please give them another chance because they have really turned this place around! They have really beautiful zeppoli dessert to die for. Try them again as soon as you can.

Ordered from O'Stromboli for dinner via doorstep last night - I got lasagna with the meatball addition and a garden salad :) It was good but I personally like my lasagna more tomato-y and meat-y than cheesey so it had a few points off my book. It's great and all but I think their marinara needs to be less tomato paste and more flavorful - I feel like Prego does a better job than their attempt to make from scratch (which I doubt is from scratch anyway, at least my instincts say so). While I can't comment on the ambiance or service, I have to say it isn't bad if you're craving Italian, a bit pricey for the quality of food you get but I guess that's why you read my reviews because of how picky I am :P

I have only had pizza here to go but it was pretty good! When I am having a craving and in the area this is the first spot I think to stop. I usually run in and grab the order to go. It always tastes really fresh and is nice and hot. It's in the middle lane as far as thin vs thick and it has a pretty thick crust. This is def a spot I could go to and grab pizza and know I am going to enjoy it. I have found myself craving this pizza one time but it is not my overall go-to spot. Maybe after I hit it up a few more times it will be but for now, solid pizza that I am down with! Also, everyone I have come in contact with there has been friendly so plus for good customer service!

The first time we ever went, we had been on a wine stroll and were quite lit up. As a result, we can't remember what we thought of the food. All we know is that we had a nice time. Since then, the restaurant has obtained new owners, and we were curious, so we went back sober. The good: Plenty of vegetarian options, not that it's difficult to have that with Italian food, but it always makes me happy when I ask if something is vegetarian (the soup this time) and the waitstaff doesn't look at my like I'm an alien. Our waitress was great and friendly, and found out the answer to my question right away. I also very much enjoyed the homemade dressings on the salads and the fresh salad toppings. The less than good: Neither of us enjoyed our meals. They weren't bad per se, which is why we didn't mention anything when asked a couple of times. Our server, who we liked a lot, did not bring our main dishes to the table. The woman who did, set the dishes down with nary a glance at us nor any words. My dish was in a white wine sauce, but it tasted mostly like the red pepper flakes with a little tartness in the background. My boyfriend said his calzone was low on flavor. I mean, this place calls itself gourmet... and I'm almost positive those mushrooms were canned! Canned mushrooms are a pet peeve of mine. We DO live in central Florida where local mushrooms are abundant. The red sauce tasted alright, but was thin and didn't shine. And we were so excited about the garlic knots, but they were super doughy and disappointing. Hopefully, I will be able to doctor up the leftovers to an improved end, but our meals were not cheap. I hate to say it, but I could eat Italian on Park Avenue for that price and know it's going to be good. I read a lot of previous reviews praising the pizza (and some bashing it), so perhaps at some point in the future we'll give that a chance... but I'm in no big hurry, and I won't be getting the mushrooms.

Ordered pizza from here on a Sunday night because our go-to place is closed on Sundays. What a disappointment! First of all, the pizza took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive (we were quoted 35-45 minutes on the phone.. there wasn't even a football game to blame on the late arrival!). When it finally arrived the pizza was cold, and terrible. Mushy, bland crust, and flavorless toppings. If this is my only option for Sunday night, I will wait until Monday to enjoy pizza somewhere else.

I usually drive by this small Italian joint on my way to work every morning, so during one of my early commutes I got this incredible Italian food craving. So strong it was that that very same evening we were sitting inside the quaint eatery with menus at hand, ready to order. If the ratings were based solely on service, I would have to say that it was excellent. We were greeted by a young lady who happily brought out our wine and food. The inside was very cozy and rustic, which gave some authenticity to the restaurant. The food, on the other hand, could have been better. We started off with an appetizer of antipasto with olives, sun dried tomatoes, bread, and a garlicky vinaigrette. It was good, but we were waiting for the main star of the evening, our large veggie pizza. When it arrived at the table we were struck with awe as we starred at the massive pie in front of us. The veggies were bright and colorful and the steam carried the comforting aroma of freshky baked bread. However, when it was time to dig in we were dissappointed because under all those veggies were globs upon globs of tasteless cheese. It trully felt as if we were eating melted plastic. To make matters worse, the pizza crust could not hold up the weight of all of that cheese and so we ended up having to eat it with a fork because the situation got extremely gooey. A few bites and many grams of saturated fat later, we decided to simply remove all the toppings, pick out the cheese, and eat the crust with the veggies. Yes, we were very hungry. Hopefully I can gather up the desire to give them another try and maybe if I order something like a pasta or salad I can get a true taste of the gourmet Italy they claim to deliver.

Decided to give this historically subpar Italian joint another try after friends said it was under new management. Big mistake... Took forever for my food (stuffed peppers) to prepare and come out. Waitress had to apologize for the appearance of my entree because the chef wasn't able to plate my entree without having it crumble under it's own weight. Had no flavor or seasoning whatsoever and knot bread was terrible. Could not tell it was stuffed peppers by merely looking at it and barely by actually eating it. Wasn't expecting too much for $10.95 as it was listed on the ToGo menu i ordered from BUT lo and behold I was charged $13.95 because that's what is shown on the sit down menu... Was told that the ownership was still reworking the menu, whatever that means... Won't ever be back or recommend to others. Have had better from a frozen Stouffer's box.

What a wonderful discovery! Great chicken picatta, mussels, grilled sirloin with asparagus and blue cheese. This place has more than pizza to eat! The new owners have renovated, cleaned it up and added great items to the menu. Love having this in the Audubon Park Garden District!

I really wish I discovered this place sooner. I'd always seen it when I was in the area. Not in the mood for the scrumptious sammiches from Stardust across the street for dinner, we decided to go Italian and try this place. We were very pleased with our choice. The layout's kind of weird -- there's this out of place, enclosed section that looks vaguely ritzy to the right with nice booths in a completely different pale color scheme, and then the rest of the place looks like a normal pizza joint with dark browns and reds. We didn't feel particularly ritzy, so we chose the plain wooden booths. Service was quick, friendly and our waitress even brought me out of a carafe of soda after 4 refills (I drink a lot, and if a server acknowledges that by bringing out a carafe for me to make both our lives easier, it's like a guaranteed massive tip and makes me a very happy fellow) I loved the food. Maybe it's because my idea of Italian has been watered down by being dragged to the Olive Garden by other people for too many years, but this really gave off a homecooked meal feelin'. The meatballs were perfectly crunchy enough on the outside and so amazingly tender on the inside that I could just melt. The bolognese is great, its consistency just screams of being slowly simmered in a pot for hours, just the way it's supposed to be. Fresh cilantro and oregano decorate the heaping spoonfuls of sauce, and the portions are very very generous given the price. My friends had the stuffed peppers, the chicken parmesan and I think something with eggplant -- even our most picky eater, who pretty much criticizes anything, loved the stuffed peppers and wouldn't stop talkin' about them. Only thing is: parking's kind of weird. I managed to get a spot right at the curb, but you might end up having to park in ABC. Most of the parking's taken up due to Stardust across the street -- they always have something going on. Overall, if you're in the mood for a nice, well-prepared Italian dish, go here. I have yet to try the pizza, but I could smell it the entire time we were there and it smelled deeee-lish. I intend to go back whenever I'm in the area, cause just writing this and relivin' the moments make me wanna be back in a little booth with friends, swirlin those saucy, sexy noodles around my fork.

I really wanted to like the place as I just moved into the neighborhood. Got the special to go and the chicken must have been old as it had an odd texture. The sauce was overpowering. Seemed the cook dropped in too much dry spices. Will not be returning.

When I first entered, it was like I was sucked into a new world. The atmosphere was very appealing. I got the meat lovers pizza and It was really flavorful. I could taste the mozzarella. For dessert I got tiramisu, it was a little too sweet, but delicious nonetheless.

I have visited this place a few times for a late lunch and I have enjoyed each visit. I have been going with the boyfriend everytime and we usually stick to one thing, the stromboli. A small stromboli can definitely feed two people and you will be content after. Besides the stromboli we have hit a few other things on the menu. Tried a pizza once and it was good. I realize I am not used to mozzarella on pizza because you can tell the difference as this cheese is very chewy but also tasty ( btw there is also mozzarella in the stromboli). If you get something premeal a side salad is nice but they also make homemade soups. I think the first time we went I tried one and it was so delicious. I know it changes everyday. If you are really hungry after eating and have a sweet tooth you can try the fried cheesecake. That is their bigger estate dessert, and I would recommend sharing. It is a little smaller than the small stromboli and will send you over the end of full (I think I posted a pick a while back). I would say you should give it a try if you haven't been since the remodel. The waitress there is friendly. The food may not be quick but it is worth it. Also I don't consider it loud.

It has been a few years since my last visit and that one was meh. The food was ok but the decor was dingy and I saw a dead cockroach in the ladies room (at least it was dead). Fast forward to now. The place has been remodeled and much nicer looking inside. No roaches (that I could see). Service was pretty friendly. The pizza was just ok though. I would definitely eat it again but I wouldn't go bragging to friends about it. I also think their price point its a little high for a neighborhood joint. I am rooting for them but I think they really need to step up their game if they are going to keep competing in the area where there are some pretty good alternatives. Maybe next time I will try one of their pasta dishes again...

My favourite pizza outside of Naples, Italy. You must order the "Hot Head Pizza" If you like it spicy. Local spot. Not touristy. Food cooked to order. Italian food that makes you feel like you are back in a small neighborhood in Italy. It's a hole in the wall. I love it. I bring all of my friends here.

After my wife finished her studies we were trying to decide where to go to grab a bite to eat. Well tonight my wife was not very hungry so she left it up to me and I suggested we give O'Stromboli's a try. I have been wanting to try this place for a while because a few people we know have raved about the food there. We walked in and it was empty but considering it was well past 9, we were not surprised. I was hoping to try the pasta fagioli or wedding soup but tonight it was broccoli and cheese or French onion soup. I opted for a bowl of the broccoli and cheese along with a Stromboli. Mama just wanted a cup of the broccoli cheese soup and a piece of my Stromboli. The soup was brought to us and the presentation could have been better but taste is really where it is at. I tasted the soup and it was very bland in my opinion. Since I was still finishing my coffee from Starbucks I thought maybe my taste buds were off and had a second taste but it was just not working for me. I asked my wife what she thought and she said it was bland and we both just pushed it to the side. Our server took it away and one of the other staff members inquired about the soup. I let them know we both thought it was very bland. I was now concerned that the Stromboli would not live up to its reputation. SIGH A little while later the Stromboli arrived. The presentation was wonderful. It was baked to a beautiful golden brown and my nose was working overtime in a good way. I started with a taste of the Marinara sauce and it was apparent that this was made with love and NOT from a jar. I cut off a piece for my wife and another for myself and we dug in. I very quickly forgot all about the soup and was now in Stromboli heaven. The taste took me back to my youth when pap and I used to make some Stromboli together. The dough had a slight sweetness to it that complimented the salty of the meat inside. The ingredients inside were the right size, evenly distributed and cooked JUST RIGHT. I took my time and savored EVERY BITE of that Stromboli and expressed my approval to the server. In spite of the soup being a fail I plan to return... That Stromboli tells me that the other Italian dishes on the menu are worth checking out. I am just hoping it was just an off day for the soup I ordered and I would recommend that they just stick to the traditional Italian soups. A bit more care to the presentation is also recommended. You know this has been a neighborhood go to joint for the longest time and finally I feel it is one of my favorite places to go. New owners have reinvented the space and the menu has been completely overhauled, thank The Lord!!! I love the mussels and cream in the app menu, they are so accommodating that they will serve it over pasta so I can enjoy it as an entree. The pizza rocks any way you get it and the marinara sauce is a favorite. We love the staff and servers and always feel like we are treated like family. They are attentive and aim to please They have a solid selection of draft beers and nice wines. But I would caution that they not serve wines that have been open more than a day. People who regularly drink wine can tell the difference. They have a great dessert selection and though we never have room because their portions are so generous, we always take one home! Thanks for turning our neighborhood Italian eatery into our fav go to spot! Love you guys!

I'm so glad that the previous owners of this place sold it; the new owners have upgraded the place in multiple ways. It no longer smells terrible, the decor is significantly nicer, and the food is better tasting. Quick lunches here are always nice. Their salads are delicious, and I love adding grilled chicken to the top. The house dressing is one of my favorites around town!! I like their pizza, but it isn't *that* good. Maybe its because for a while, I ate it so often while working down the street, but it just doesn't compete with some of the other local pizza places around town. My biggest gripe about this place is that they're slow. To get a quick lunch, I generally had to tell the server the moment I sat down what I wanted. She never came around to tables regularly, and it took way too long to have what should have been a quick lunch. To get take out, I always had to call 30 minutes ahead to get a salad with chicken on top, and even still, I was often left waiting for my food. It's a salad. You don't have to cook it. Chicken doesn't take 30 minutes to grill. Come on now folks...

With a heavy sigh, I have to write another review for an Italian restaurant that put way too much salt in their food. This time I ordered their lemon chicken soup, which I think was a special for the day. I thought I was going to get something like a Greek Avgolemeno, but when it came out it looked different. So I took my first bite and all I could taste was mostly salt. I thought it was just me, so I had a friend take a bite and she thought the same thing. I made a mistake in ordering a full bowl, so felt forced to finish as much as I could (I don't like wasting food, especially when an animal had to die for it). I don't come here very often...maybe once a year. I remember liking their pizza, and my friend did enjoy the pizza she ate. The service was also very good overall. Maybe I just got the wrong dish, and I will try to visit here again for another opinion.

We picked O'Stromboli's tonight because it was close by where we were meeting a friend to deliver some art ahebhad purchased. We had eaten there several years ago and thought it'll do. What a pleasant surprise! O'Stromboli's has been completely remodeled and defiantly upgraded. The now smaller space is more intimate and pretty. Our meals were delish and both of us cleaned our plate! I had the Chicken Piccata. I only wish we had saved room for dessert. Our server was very nice and helpful. It was a "relaxed" meal meaning don't plan on getting our quickly. We didn't mind but I could see others being annoyed at the time it took to get their meal. Over all, we will definitely be returning and much sooner than our last visit of approximately 3 years.

We stopped in to check this place out since it was nearby some bars we were going to bounce around in Audubon Park. The decor was modernized with nice lighting and looked recently renovated as the outside of the building was a bit dated. We were greeted by a gentleman at the front who was sitting down and made no attempt to get up to seat us - he handed off the menus to someone else passing by. Our server promptly brought us water while we looked at the drink menu. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir which tasted as though the bottle had been open for a few days. I'm not drinking a bottle I opened 2 days earlier on my couch - certainly not what I would expect from a restaurant. We started with the calamari which has a bit heavy on the breading but seasoned ok. It was served with an Asian Thai chili sauce. I was at an Italian restaurant so I expected a nice marinara, a little odd choice but we went with it. For entrees, I ordered the chicken piccata which came with either soup or salad. I opted for the house salad which the server said had a mix or romain and I asked for the house Italian dressing. My salad came with only iceberg lettuce, onion, tomato and olives and the dressing was very bland. It's just a salad, I'm sure the meals would be great (at least I hoped). For $14.50, I expected much more. Instead I was brought pasta with thick piccata sauce (traditionally wine based - this seamed closer to Alfredo with less cheese) capers and clearly frozen chicken strips on top. The chicken had no color and tasted like it had been popped in the Mike and tossed with the sauce. I sent it back because the chicken was so dry. They offered to make me something else but I gave them the opportunity to fix the chicken. While I waited we tasted the sausage and peppers dish my friends ordered. The sausage was tough and a bit chewy. The sauce tasted on par with something from a jar that was doctored up. Just ok not restaurant quality. I smacked on the garlic knots which I will say were tasty! Plenty of garlic oil and cheese and maybe a little over cooked but fortunately - I like mine a bit charred on the ends for flavor. So it worked. When the server brought my re-cooked chicken it was of course the same frozen chicken but at least cooked better this time. I took it in a to-go box (still in my fridge this morning). Certainly not any leftovers I'm excited to eat. The server apologized about the food but no discount was offered or even a small token dessert - they weren't busy so perhaps the manager could have came by to make sure the second plate was better - maybe that's an expected level of service that's too high for this place sadly. I love family owned local Italian restaurants - and want to see them thrive. I feel as though they took the time to improve the ambiance, now it's time to upgrade the food. Calling Robert Irvine!

I've been to O'stromboli a few times and I think they have pretty good pizza! I've only ever had the pizza so I can only comment on that but it's always fresh, has good flavor, and I never have to wait too long. They're not usually busy for dine in, but they have a nice environment. So, whether it's take out or dine in, I think you'll like O'stromboli for some nice italian :) Check it out!

Things seems to get a bit worse every time we go. I really hope things improve quickly because their Happy Hour is AWESOME! 2.00 dollar draft beers and 2.00 off wines. Not too bad. The Grand Marnier Mussels are wonderful. Great flavor to the sauce, fresh mussel, and delicious bread. Worth a visit just for those. However, every things else just was not that good. They claim to make their own ravioli, but after we charged a different price then what the menu stated, the manager informed us they were using different raviolis. Huh? Just not a ton of flavor and coated with cheese. My wife enjoyed her Mediterranean pasta dish with capers and pine nuts. Also overcharged for that dish as well. Apparently, the price difference was the up sell on the anchovies. Did I mention we had the appetizer, salads, and entrees all at the table at the same time? Yup. Salads came out 1 minute after the appetizer, with entrees arriving before we were half done with the mussels. Timing people, timing! We are asked for desert and brought the check before we finished our entrees. I have seen this anomaly at the end of dinner service, but we were the first ones in, and the only ones in. I love my neighborhood places, but it will take some time before I go back to eat.

Great little neighborhood spot. We tried it out for the first time this week. No bike racks to speak of which is kind of a bummer but also surprisingly common around here. Nothing is really handmade or anything here but they do a nice job with what they're serving, all the food tasted good and portions were good sized. Pizza seems to be popular from the reviews but we went for pasta - ravioli and an eggplant parm. Decent selection of modestly priced wines as well, we had a very enjoyable Pinot Noir around the $25 range. I do wish they'd keep the wine a bit cooler, even for red 80 degree/room temp seems a bit much.

Was tossing back some good ol fashioned brew dogs next door at Big Daddy's and realized that I hadn't a thing to eat since a bowl of Cheerios about 7 hours prior. If I wanted to avoid becoming a wasted mess, I'd need to get something a little more substantial in me stomach than just malted barley, hops and boozy shots of liquor. Bartender told me they could order from the Italian place next door and have it walked over. Great success! Asked for a large pepperoni with double cheese, no sweat. Was sitting at a table outside with a few friends when the piping hot pie arrived. Just took a matter of minutes (honestly, say 10-15 tops). Opened the box, my lord do they do extra cheese right. We decided it was in all of our best interest to perhaps let it cool down a little or the cheese would probably slip slide right off of each slice once it's pulled away from he group. Couldn't wait that long though, it just looked and smelled to damn good. Unfortunately, yes, the cheese in all it's copious glory did end up sliding off the slices as we pulled each portion out, but no matter, just went back and scooped it up. The top was a tad greasy--no big deal, lotsa pizzas are. If you want you can dab it off lightly with a napkin to try and soak it up a bit. Tasty thin crust cooked evenly, the peperoni was ample and the cheese we already know about. Big slices for boys that're drinking and it hit the spot. Great service, quick and delicious. Thumbs up.

I love pizza, so having recently moved to Winter Park, I set out to find the best. The funny thing is that this place was kind of far down on the list of places to try initially because I didn't have the highest expectations. I was misled, I think, by some of the other reviews (maybe things were different under previous owners?). Having finally gotten around to O'Stromboli after trying MANY other places, I have awarded them the best pizza crown. Perfect medium thickness crust. Delicious cheese. Zesty and flavorful sauce. AND they deliver. AND they are practically in my neighborhood. Now all they need is some gluten free pizza for my husband...

I'm glad to report that the dour servers are gone and the new ones are friendly and eager to please. This is truly a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with a small and friendly bar if you're in the mood to chat. The owners are fastidious with quality of food. My favorite are the pizzas but my husband loves the pasta and salads.

I haven't been to this place in years and the decor has definitely changed (upgrade!). This seems to be everyone's go-to spot for take out pizza to eat at Redlight and yesterday I thought I'd give it a go. We decided to dine in and I actually like the fact that the restaurant is quite small and cozy. The server was nice and our water glasses were always full and replenished! We ordered the small veggie pizza (in an attempt to make ourselves feel more healthy...) and when it came it was really good. Though I enjoyed it, I don't see myself ever having a hankering for one of their pizzas versus another Italian restaurant. Also, it took over 30 minutes for our pizza to arrive. I could hear all of the takeout calls coming in (it was a Friday night afterall), and could tell that they were a bit swamped so I didn't mind the wait this time, but I hope it won't take as long normally. Overall good experience. I will definitely revisit the review when I order off of their non-pizza menu!

This restaurant has some of the best stromboli I've had, and their homemade soups are always excellent. If your lucky enough to go on a night when the roasted garlic soup is available, try it, one of the best soups I've eaten. The service is always great, and the new owner truly seems like he cares about making this place a success. We will continue to dine here and hope the word spreads about how great this little restaurant is.

I wouldn't suggest eating here. My party (10 people) were there along with two others. The service was slow and the server was very pushy, never even asking if we wanted dessert. The veal was very tough. The muscles were small and the sauce was very sweet.

No flavor. I asked for pepperoni in my calzone but I think they forgot as there were about 4 slices. The Stromboli was pretty decent but again the dipping sauce was so sour. Delivery was quick but I won't order again. Too many good pizza places around this area to subject myself to this tummy ache again

This corner has been the proud home of Italian eateries for decades (Sandroni's, Ciotti's) and we've given the current O'Stromboli's a few tries since opening. The initial owner was nice, but the food not so much. While the latest owners have a better handle on what Italian should taste like, the finished product and customer service is definitely lacking. More importantly, when your employees make a mistake, every effort should be made to satisfy the customer...behaving unprofessional simply adds insult to injury.

Ate here last night ( a Sunday night) because it so happened the place we planned was closed on Sunday. I'm actually quite surprised I've never reviewed this place before. First thing about Strobolis- you try their Stromboli! It's truly one of the best I've ever had! I used to live right down the street and would often order take out from here. Ok, but tonight me and my friend both ordered calzones. Appetizer of cheesesticks and house salads. Honestly, it had been awhile since I've been here. The decor has changed for the better-small place but nice booths and wall decor. Typically, I'm a beer guy and noticed they have several taps for a small venue. The food- good! The service? Very attentive. Calzones? Amazing- my fave part was the sauce on the side- a little sweet but tasted very original. I had pepperoni with calamari olives in mine- very good. Maybe only complaint is the salad plate was a little small - my salad was falling off as I ate it- I'm admittedly a bad reviewer when it comes to Italian places - I go for simple - pizza or a calzone maybe where I feel like the true test of good Italian is their pasta! However, if your local and looking for the aforementioned this place was great!

I started eating at O'Stromboli when it became walking distance. I've seen it change owners once or twice, back in 2008 or so the owners were great, then some other owners came in and it went down hill. Now it is under new ownership the last couple years (summer 2011 maybe?) and its improved a lot. The pizza is always good when I dine in or have it delivered. Their specials are usually really good too. I had a mussel dish with a Grand Marnier sauce that was to DIE FOR. Best dish I've ever had there under the new ownership. The staff and new owners are really great. Very friendly and professional, and they support the surrounding businesses which is a huge plus. The staff is really the reason I eat there as often as I do. I'm in there at least once a week, it feels like they are a neighbor to me. I recently had a birthday party at a nearby business, and my amazing boyfriend surprised me with a huge sheet of tiramisu as my birthday cake! My boyfriend collaborated with O'Stromboli and Taps From Scratch (where the party was) to have my cake set up without me knowing! Tiramisu is my faaaaaaavorite, and its always absolutely delicious at O'Strom's. My favorite staff members and the owner were even there to sing me happy birthday! I was really impressed with this cake. I love that they don't serve the pre-packaged tiramisu cups like some pizza places. O'Stromboli tiramisu has a more home made touch to it being served on a plate or put in a to go box. The huge sheet of tiramisu ordered special for my birthday proved that it is more home made and personal, making it look less like a product and more like a family dessert. I'm impressed with the sense of community that the new ownership has established at O'Stromboli. They have a loyal customer with me!

Not going to lie, the exterior of this place turned me off. The big sign looks a little generic, and I couldn't tell they were even open... BUT... The inside has a nice cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the veal carbonora and it was SOOOO goood. I wasn't crazy about the veal, but I am not really sure if I like veal even (I have never ordered it before then). The sauce itself was amazing. I am reallly critical about pasta at restaurants, but this was so good!

While visiting a friend in Orlando, we wanted to stop for drinks at a local bar - Redlight, Redlight was our first choice and since we needed to grab a bite before the drinks, O'Stomboli was perfectly located across the street. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, so we were promptly seated at the booth of our choosing. The staff was friendly and answered any questions we had. Between the three of us, we ordered two medium pizzas and had 3 slices left to take home. Our pizza choices were the White Pizza and the Bianca, both very tasty and not too greasy. The crust was a bit thinner than I would have personally liked, but that wasn't too big of an issue. I would have enjoyed some bread at the table since it took a few minutes to get our pizzas ready (they are made fresh, which is another big plus!) and we had just arrived to the area after a day of traveling. All in all, this place was an average Italian eatery. I would call it tasty and recommend it to a friend.

Ordered takeout. Pizzas were burnt on the bottom, like charred black burnt. I posted a picture so you know I'm not making it up, it was really burnt. Cheese was really thick, and the pizza was cut too early so all the cheese melted back together so you couldn't pull the pieces apart, plus the cheese had slid to one side. Had to wait about 10 minutes longer than the stated time, even though there were three people in the restaurant total. It took them 35 minutes, I'm guessing, because it takes longer to burn a pizza than simply cook it. I wasn't impressed.

Great food, great service. The garlic knots are a must, and I never had to prompt my waitress for refills. I loved the intimate atmosphere and the family-like welcoming from all the staff. My only issue is with parking, which isn't something they can control too much sadly. Difficult to get in and out.

Oh, just keep driving! There are way too many places in the area that know how to make pizza and pasta for you to waste you time and taste buds on this place! I live close by so I have given this place more than one chance over the years and have tried both the pizza and pastas. Inside the atmosphere is divy, and the servers seem miserable. The pizza is OK, but kind of greasy-they all olive oil to the crust, so the oil is both on the cheese and your hands. The pasta I got (recommended by the server), chicken picatta, was also laden in oil and lacked any flavor. My sons raviolis looked just like the frozen ones we get from Publix, and the sauce was simply not good. When there Del Dios, Boardwalk, la Bella Luna, Red Brick, Mellow Mushroom, etc for pizza, and il Pescatore over by fashion square for excellent pasta (and pizza), there is really no need to go here, I promise.

I have been here before the new owners and was appalled. But I have been here so many times since the new owner took over and what a difference! The food is amazing now, so much better. But the real gem of O'Stromboli is Lea Ann, the waitress. She is attentive, knowledgeable, and completely fabulous! If you have been here before July of 2012, please give them another chance because they have really turned this place around! They have really beautiful zeppoli dessert to die for. Try them again as soon as you can.

Ordered from O'Stromboli for dinner via doorstep last night - I got lasagna with the meatball addition and a garden salad :) It was good but I personally like my lasagna more tomato-y and meat-y than cheesey so it had a few points off my book. It's great and all but I think their marinara needs to be less tomato paste and more flavorful - I feel like Prego does a better job than their attempt to make from scratch (which I doubt is from scratch anyway, at least my instincts say so). While I can't comment on the ambiance or service, I have to say it isn't bad if you're craving Italian, a bit pricey for the quality of food you get but I guess that's why you read my reviews because of how picky I am :P

Awful. Service was great but food was not. Calamari was a whole squid in an inch of batter with jar chili sauce. Veal was tough as shoe leather. Garlic knots had dough sweet as doughnuts. Should have known since the place was empty on a Saturday night. Which was awkward because it was so quiet they could probably hear us discussing how bad it all was. Will not be back.

I've passed this place a million times, finally decided to stop in for dinner. Had the pizza and wings. The pizza had a nice crust with plenty of toppings, the wings were perfect. I will definitely stop in here again to get my Italian on.

I have only had pizza here to go but it was pretty good! When I am having a craving and in the area this is the first spot I think to stop. I usually run in and grab the order to go. It always tastes really fresh and is nice and hot. It's in the middle lane as far as thin vs thick and it has a pretty thick crust. This is def a spot I could go to and grab pizza and know I am going to enjoy it. I have found myself craving this pizza one time but it is not my overall go-to spot. Maybe after I hit it up a few more times it will be but for now, solid pizza that I am down with! Also, everyone I have come in contact with there has been friendly so plus for good customer service!

The first time we ever went, we had been on a wine stroll and were quite lit up. As a result, we can't remember what we thought of the food. All we know is that we had a nice time. Since then, the restaurant has obtained new owners, and we were curious, so we went back sober. The good: Plenty of vegetarian options, not that it's difficult to have that with Italian food, but it always makes me happy when I ask if something is vegetarian (the soup this time) and the waitstaff doesn't look at my like I'm an alien. Our waitress was great and friendly, and found out the answer to my question right away. I also very much enjoyed the homemade dressings on the salads and the fresh salad toppings. The less than good: Neither of us enjoyed our meals. They weren't bad per se, which is why we didn't mention anything when asked a couple of times. Our server, who we liked a lot, did not bring our main dishes to the table. The woman who did, set the dishes down with nary a glance at us nor any words. My dish was in a white wine sauce, but it tasted mostly like the red pepper flakes with a little tartness in the background. My boyfriend said his calzone was low on flavor. I mean, this place calls itself gourmet... and I'm almost positive those mushrooms were canned! Canned mushrooms are a pet peeve of mine. We DO live in central Florida where local mushrooms are abundant. The red sauce tasted alright, but was thin and didn't shine. And we were so excited about the garlic knots, but they were super doughy and disappointing. Hopefully, I will be able to doctor up the leftovers to an improved end, but our meals were not cheap. I hate to say it, but I could eat Italian on Park Avenue for that price and know it's going to be good. I read a lot of previous reviews praising the pizza (and some bashing it), so perhaps at some point in the future we'll give that a chance... but I'm in no big hurry, and I won't be getting the mushrooms.

Ordered pizza from here on a Sunday night because our go-to place is closed on Sundays. What a disappointment! First of all, the pizza took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive (we were quoted 35-45 minutes on the phone.. there wasn't even a football game to blame on the late arrival!). When it finally arrived the pizza was cold, and terrible. Mushy, bland crust, and flavorless toppings. If this is my only option for Sunday night, I will wait until Monday to enjoy pizza somewhere else.

I usually drive by this small Italian joint on my way to work every morning, so during one of my early commutes I got this incredible Italian food craving. So strong it was that that very same evening we were sitting inside the quaint eatery with menus at hand, ready to order. If the ratings were based solely on service, I would have to say that it was excellent. We were greeted by a young lady who happily brought out our wine and food. The inside was very cozy and rustic, which gave some authenticity to the restaurant. The food, on the other hand, could have been better. We started off with an appetizer of antipasto with olives, sun dried tomatoes, bread, and a garlicky vinaigrette. It was good, but we were waiting for the main star of the evening, our large veggie pizza. When it arrived at the table we were struck with awe as we starred at the massive pie in front of us. The veggies were bright and colorful and the steam carried the comforting aroma of freshky baked bread. However, when it was time to dig in we were dissappointed because under all those veggies were globs upon globs of tasteless cheese. It trully felt as if we were eating melted plastic. To make matters worse, the pizza crust could not hold up the weight of all of that cheese and so we ended up having to eat it with a fork because the situation got extremely gooey. A few bites and many grams of saturated fat later, we decided to simply remove all the toppings, pick out the cheese, and eat the crust with the veggies. Yes, we were very hungry. Hopefully I can gather up the desire to give them another try and maybe if I order something like a pasta or salad I can get a true taste of the gourmet Italy they claim to deliver.

Decided to give this historically subpar Italian joint another try after friends said it was under new management. Big mistake... Took forever for my food (stuffed peppers) to prepare and come out. Waitress had to apologize for the appearance of my entree because the chef wasn't able to plate my entree without having it crumble under it's own weight. Had no flavor or seasoning whatsoever and knot bread was terrible. Could not tell it was stuffed peppers by merely looking at it and barely by actually eating it. Wasn't expecting too much for $10.95 as it was listed on the ToGo menu i ordered from BUT lo and behold I was charged $13.95 because that's what is shown on the sit down menu... Was told that the ownership was still reworking the menu, whatever that means... Won't ever be back or recommend to others. Have had better from a frozen Stouffer's box.

What a wonderful discovery! Great chicken picatta, mussels, grilled sirloin with asparagus and blue cheese. This place has more than pizza to eat! The new owners have renovated, cleaned it up and added great items to the menu. Love having this in the Audubon Park Garden District!

I really wish I discovered this place sooner. I'd always seen it when I was in the area. Not in the mood for the scrumptious sammiches from Stardust across the street for dinner, we decided to go Italian and try this place. We were very pleased with our choice. The layout's kind of weird -- there's this out of place, enclosed section that looks vaguely ritzy to the right with nice booths in a completely different pale color scheme, and then the rest of the place looks like a normal pizza joint with dark browns and reds. We didn't feel particularly ritzy, so we chose the plain wooden booths. Service was quick, friendly and our waitress even brought me out of a carafe of soda after 4 refills (I drink a lot, and if a server acknowledges that by bringing out a carafe for me to make both our lives easier, it's like a guaranteed massive tip and makes me a very happy fellow) I loved the food. Maybe it's because my idea of Italian has been watered down by being dragged to the Olive Garden by other people for too many years, but this really gave off a homecooked meal feelin'. The meatballs were perfectly crunchy enough on the outside and so amazingly tender on the inside that I could just melt. The bolognese is great, its consistency just screams of being slowly simmered in a pot for hours, just the way it's supposed to be. Fresh cilantro and oregano decorate the heaping spoonfuls of sauce, and the portions are very very generous given the price. My friends had the stuffed peppers, the chicken parmesan and I think something with eggplant -- even our most picky eater, who pretty much criticizes anything, loved the stuffed peppers and wouldn't stop talkin' about them. Only thing is: parking's kind of weird. I managed to get a spot right at the curb, but you might end up having to park in ABC. Most of the parking's taken up due to Stardust across the street -- they always have something going on. Overall, if you're in the mood for a nice, well-prepared Italian dish, go here. I have yet to try the pizza, but I could smell it the entire time we were there and it smelled deeee-lish. I intend to go back whenever I'm in the area, cause just writing this and relivin' the moments make me wanna be back in a little booth with friends, swirlin those saucy, sexy noodles around my fork.

Best Italian restaurant in town!! Love what the new owner has done with the place!! Great family atmosphere, we eat here all the time!! I would highly recommend O'Stromboli to anyone!!
