If you are looking for a true Irish bar in downtown Orlando, than look no further! The service was impeccable and the beers were never ending! You can not walk into this place expecting anymore than a downtown, decently dirty, loud and energetic Irish bar! The beer was great, but I did not partake in the famous "pudding shots" that I hear so much about! I will be venturing into one very soon! Crazy thing about this bar is you get what you expect from walking by to walking in. Overall chill place. Will be back!

Lizzy McCormack's has always been a stop for me and my friends while visiting the bars in Orlando. It was never one of my favorite places to go, but it by far wasn't one of the worse places either. After a run in with a very rude bouncer this weekend, I am not sure if I will ever come back. My friends and I were all on a craft beer bar crawl and Lizzy's was one of the stops. We all had our IDs checked before the bar and were given 21 and up wristbands. When we got to Lizzy's the doorman wanted to check our ids again even though we all had the wristbands. OK, I get it, they want to be really cautious. I had a small clutch purse where my ID sits in the plastic wallet section. I showed him this, and he rudely told me I had to take it out. I was annoyed seeing I just did that 5 minutes prior, but OK. As I was digging out my ID my friend gave him her out of state ID. Most people have a hard time finding the birth date on the ID, so I mentioned to him her birthday because I could tell he couldn't find it. Once again I get the attitude. He rudely says to me, "Yeah, I know. I do have eyes." I explained to him that I was just saying that because most people have a hard time finding it on the out of state ID. He just rolled his eyes at me. Like I said, I've been to Lizzy's many times in the past and never had this problem. However, the bouncer is the first person you speak to before walking into the business and spending money. I also was with a group of over 10 people. I could easily go to one of the many other bars and not have to deal with this type of attitude in the future.

Love Lizzy's! Great service. It was a stop on our first date so it'll always hold a soft place in my heart. It is a smoking bar so be prepared for that. Duh, of course we'll return.

I work at a loud and noisy club five nights a week, so when I go out on my nights off I much prefer grabbing a drink at a low-key, laid-back place. Lizzy's is great for that, and as such it's pretty much my usual hangout. The staff, as some have mentioned here, is great and more than willing to make suggestions if you aren't sure what you'd like; they have an excellent memory too, as they tend to remember the regulars and their orders. They have a great draft beer selection, as well as a fair amount of whiskey and scotch. Just a great, great bar.

Lizzy's is a small Irish bar on Orange Ave, but don't let the size fool you, because it packs a helluva punch! You'll never have to wait too long for a drink since it's pretty much a handful of regulars with sporadic waves of others, unless it's St. Patty's Day, then, you know... anything goes. My biggest association with Lizzy's is PUDDING SHOTS! These beauties are just what you're thinking, a boozy, sweet treat, topped with whipped cream. They come in all sorts of flavors including, buttery nipple, funfetti (group favorite!), cookies and cream, mocha, key lime, and the list goes on. They have about four different flavors each night, so please, stop in and have one (or two!). On a typical night out we stop into Lizzy's for a pregame pudding shot and then the poor bartenders have to sort us out at the end of the night when we are ordering five of each flavor. In a nutshell, Lizzy's is the alpha and omega; the beginning and end of a great night out!

It's pretty dope, I mean they have cider on tap... and well... my heart smiles at that =) They are a true Irish Bar in the center of DT Orlando that always seems to be hoppin'. It is a great happy hour spot and the crowd has a tendency to pour from the sidewalk into the street into the night. They go all out when there is an Irish celebration and being named Colleen (Irish Girl) you know I have to love that. The bartenders I have come across in my adventures here have all been pretty nice so that is a huge plus. The decor is very pub-like but it's not stuffy in the pub sense if you know what I mean. There are always a random mixture of people in here so you are bound to run into a friend as well as a new face which is always fun when you are out and about. Overall, great stop in DT!

Great little drinking place in downtown Orlando. Full stocked bar!, Leather couches, and faux fireplace. Great place to start or end a night and hang in between! 1 of only a handful of places you can sit outside on Orange Ave. For the Irish at heart sometimes the Orlando/Orange County Fire Dept. Pipe and Drum Band perform here.

Lizzy Mc's is a great place to chill out and have a drink before venturing out to other bars or when ending the night out on the town. The service at LM is great! They are very attentive and make sure you have a cold one in front of you at all times. Every visit to Orlando I make sure I drop by Lizzy's for a few.

So i was sitting here the other night trying to review Lizzy's and for some reason i could not find the words. It friggin boggled my mind because i practically live at this place. I came to the conclusion today that the reason i couldn't think of anything to say about this place I love so much is because it's like trying to describe home. How do you describe home? Home is home. It's where ya go. It's where you feel comfortable. You love the people in it......well, for the most part. Alright I'm done being sappy. Anywho, this is pretty much my "go to" place for anything drink. It's great for drinks after work, pre-downtown beveraging, or just stay the whole freakin night until they turn on the brights and kick you out. Dress up, dress down, it doesn't matter. Have a conversation because here you don't have to yell over the music. Hell, sometimes I even bring my dog. Me and Mr. Stankins sit out front and share a cold one. Yes, he loves beer. mmmmmm beer.

Irish bar at its finest! Today I am writing this on the 250th anniversary of Guinness and Lizzys is having a big party to celebrate this event. This is one of many "Irish" events that Lizzys hosts. When you want an authentic Irish Bar, you have to come to Lizzys. Staff is one of a kind, Irish blood, Irish accents, a comfortable family feeling they give off of their personalities. They remember your name, and your drinks! All of them, from Brian to Shelly to John to Lauren they are the absolute exceptional staff and friends. This is one not to miss for happy hour. Come to Lizzys to wind down, have a Guinness, Magners or whatever you choose - it's ready for you!

90's music and pudding shots are all you need to know about this bar! Lizzy's is one of my favorite go-to spots after a Magic game. It always has the perfect sized crowd, friendly bar tenders - however, they won't share their secret of how they make their pudding shots perfectly alcoholic and perfectly creamy- and the best 90's music. 1 beware: No mirror in the ladies bathroom! But don't worry, you're gorgeous.

3/30/14 We got burnt at lizzys. They usually have these pudding shots, but they were out and offered some $5 shots. They then ask for $6 a shot. People are drunk, It's Sunday I get it. We're not going to pay. They refused to give us an itemized. We payed $20 at 12:15ish. And left. Last time I bring friends to lizzys.

On certain nights when the timing is right and all the patrons blotto on bartop appears, dodging the beers a chap with whisky in a bottle he pours some down the throat of each lass and bloak To the tune I'm Shipping of To Boston This is my review

Cute little Irish bar. The waitress wears a kilt. Good happy hour 2-8pm. No food served here. They are famous for their pudding shots. They have donut, yoohoo, and cherry cheesecake pudding shots. I got the cherry pudding, it was yum! Happy Irishing!!

  • Jessica M.

Small narrow downtown spot, great bar staff - friendly and efficient, great place to watch soccer. Liquor, decent draft beer selection, pudding shots. No food so it's smoky which is the main negative. Best place to watch Orlando City games.

Little hidden Irish bar in downtown Orlando. This place is tucked away in between a couple of other shops. We were walking by and almost missed it. They're famous for their pudding shots. It's basically alcohol infused ice cream. It seems like the flavors rotate occasionally. On the night we went, they were offering yoohoo, cherry cheesecake and donut. It tasted pretty good. You can taste the alcohol but it wasn't overpowering. It comes with a little dollop of whipped cream on top. They're already prepared and sitting in their freezer. The serving was pretty small though. It came in one of those little plastic cups used for Costco samples. I don't know why but i thought it would be bigger for some reason. It's a nice little place to come and have a drink. It wasn't as crowded as some of the other bars we passed on our way there, so that can either be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Stop on by and have a pudding shot!

  • Michael S.

Updating my last review which was a negative, to a positive. Excellent management as they tried to rectify my bad experience there. The pudding shots are delicious and my sister frequents the place quite often and speaks highly of it. I look forward to returning.

This is a small place, but it is cozy and fun. The folks that work here are very nice. You can stop in for lunch, happy hour, or at night. I have always had a nice time whenever I have stopped in.

Well besides 20 ounce glasses, the service here is, well, not orlandesque and by orlandesque I mean a bunch of idiot, morbid, depressed jerkwads who probably started off as disney costume characters posing for photos n not saying much but perhaps authorized scripted excrescence. I was in dire need of empanadas and not only did the bartender suggest a place but purveyed a bike messenger to deliver it. Now that is service!!!!! If it were not for this place, I would rightly conclude borelando is perhaps the worst place in the universe for bar service w the exception of the entire continent of Europe

I love Lizzy's. I'm surprised that I haven't written a review for it yet. It's always one of my stops whenever I am bar hopping downtown. I either start the night here, or end the night here. They always have great bartenders who pay attention to you. They have a full liquor bar, beers on draft, and.... the famous pudding shots!! They have different flavors of the pudding shots. Usually in the flavors of oreos and cream and confetti cake. Yummmm. Several tables to sit at, or just sit at the bar. Small place. But definitely check it out.

Oh Lizzy's, I miss you so. I started working in Winter Park and the thought of fighting downtown traffic for happy hour sounds like a near death sentence but for Lizzy's I will make an exception. Great location in downtown. The bartenders are always nice and attentive. They always have a decent beer selection and even serve the brews in the proper glassware. (yes that is important, don't make fun of me). Oh and if you ask, they have the best pudding shots you will ever have. What is a pudding shot? A tasty concoction similar to ice cream that contains a mystery liquor of some kind and must be eater with a tiny spoon. Last time I was there I enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter one and it was fantastic! AND if you go to Gringo's Locos next door, they don't mind if you bring it back and eat it there. YES! My only wish is that they didn't allow smoking. Sometimes I would like to go home and not smell like an ash tray but I guess that is part of their charm :)

  • Kris E.

Pretty cool Irish themed pub, no food but they have a ton of whiskey. Another big selling point is that Lizzy's is one of the only bars downtown that is open in the afternoon. When I lived in Orlando I used to spend many afternoons sitting on the patio. It can get crowed on the weekends but usually there is a place to sit and a soccer game of the TV. The bar staff is always super helpful and friendly--no pompous hipsters here, just good people and good drinks.

    (5)
  • Carri B.

I've never written a review of Lizzy's? Really??!!?!? That's just shameful considering how many times I've been there. I've been to Lizzy's so many times, the bartenders know my name and get me a drink without my having to order it. Needless to say, I love it there! They are not at all pretentious, they have comfy seats for a leisurely happy hour as well as happy hour drink specials, several beers & ciders on tap and PUDDING SHOTS! The guy who owns the bar (Roger - yes, he knows me, too) had his wife come up with the pudding shot (like a jello shot, but made with frozen pudding). Roger laughed at her and said no one would want them, but he took them into the bar anyway. Flash forward a year or so and Lizzy's sells several hundred pudding shots a week. Moral of the story? Men just don't know anything! ;) So, if you're ever downtown and want a friendly, comfy place that's not too loud to have a drink or two, make your way to Lizzy's.

Place is incredible. Bryan, the head bartender, knows every trick to make each drink over the top. He had an employee run to buy fresh eggs to hand make eggnog for me and a buddy. Grates his own fresh seasoning in there. To top it off, he's just a great guy. Overall awesome experience

Just an all around solid bar. If you want a place to drink, chill, make friends, or just drown in your own thoughts, this place is it. Very fine service. My glass NEVER got empty. Very charismatic bartenders as well if you like conversation. I'm from out of town but will definite be back!

I have been coming to Lizzys for years. They have a whiskey club that once you drink 30 different whiskeys you get your name on a plaque. Whats nice about this club is there is no time limit. It could take you 1 month or 1 year and they don't care. This bar is trully different than most of the downtown scene. It plays good music and has a good crowd. However, the last few times I have been in there the music was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation, which it wasn't like that before.

Love pubs, love getting Strongbow cider from them, nice casual place to hang out in downtown.

The best Irish Pub in Downtown Orlando by far. Great bartenders... who pour great drinks. They have an excellent beer selection on tap and those of you who are soccer (football for the rest of the world) fans will appreciate the games on tvs located all through the pub. Great place to hangout with friends or enjoy a quite drink by yourself.

  • Jay M.

Cold beer and cool bartenders, what more could you ask for?!? This Irish pub is exactly that, a true Irish pub, minus the food. So order a pint of Guinness, sit back, and watch some Celtic Football.

Four words were exclaimed to me when I asked if we could head to this Irish Pub after dinner, "Naked Chick Photo Hunt!" So off we went with this popular bar game in mind. When we arrived, we were met by a friendly bouncer who checked our IDs and sent us inside for some fun. My friends are fairly adventurous beer drinkers and were willing to try brands that they had not tasted before. Thus, the bartender was gracious enough to give them samples to ensure they would be pleased with the selection. A nicety not always extended to bar-goers. It was rather smokey in there though. Because they don't serve food they are not bound by the no-smoking ordinance. So if that's an issue for you, Lizzy's might not be the best watering hole on a regular basis. In the back I was shown the Photo Hunt games which were all occupied and from what I could tell, would be all night long. There were also booth areas that seemed to be a fun place to hang out since most of those were inhabited as well. As the night wore on, it did seem to get fairly crowded since there isn't too much space inside which made the booths seem more ideal. It was from there that I noticed a digital sign on the wall that is counting down the time until St. Patrick's Day. It read 149 days, 3 hours and 58 minutes. Obviously an extremely fitting decoration for such a bar. On Sundays, you can head there for Football Frenzy drink specials and a seat at the bar in order to watch a game or two on their flat screen. It's not the type of place you'd go to watch all the games since they don't have 10 TVs but it wouldn't be bad if you just wanted to kickback with friends in town.

One of my favorite bars in the city, and not just because it's within stumbling distance of my house! It's a proper local Irish pub with many local regulars with your standard soccer and rugby fans scattered amidst. Show up early, drink lots, pass out on the freaking bar if you'd like. The bartenders won't bother you. Be warned: other patrons might use you for photo ops.

    (4)
  • Scott S.

Easily one of my favorite downtown spots. It can get crowded but the bartenders are great and they have an absolute ton of whiskey.

  • Drew M.

I'm a huge fan of Lizzy's! It's always a must-stop when I'm downtown. There's a lot of fake pubs around, but Lizzy's is not one of them! The vibe is cool. The atmosphere is cool. The crowd is cool. What else can I say? If you can, snag a table inside by the front windows...the perfect place for people watching. The staff is always on top of things and friendly. The only time I can ever remember there being a cover charge was for St. Patrick's Day...but..."duh"! One of my faves!

  • Rick B.

Lizzy's is one of my favorite haunts in downtown Orlando with a great selection of suds and spirits and a professional staff to boot. Smoking is allowed so if you are offended by smoke, you might reconsider. Something is always going on at Lizzy's and it can get quite packed on weekends. They have great soccer and rugby coverage. No food at this establishment.

Lizzy's is a great little bar on Orange Ave. Very good beer selection, very good group of people running the show... if you are looking for a good spot to grab a pint and meet some locals, this is a good choice....

Lizzy's is an upscale Irish Pub. They have a great happy hour and if you stick around for awhile and start to look good and drunk, they bartenders will appear with pizza. They have Golden Tee and big screen TVs...perfect for soccer games. When you're waiting for I-Bar to get started, Lizzy's is great for the pre-party.

So it appears I am going to have to go against the grain here and give this bar some flak. I actually was really impressed with the beer selection at this bar. They had a lot of great craft beer, and the prices were reasonable. The place was decently packed, but the bartenders were handling it, and pretty friendly. I thought "Finally! Found a sweet bar that feels somewhat like home." Silly me...should have known better. No sooner, I see a group of about 15 or so UFC wannabes heading into the bar. They consisted of both men and women, all bearing the shirts from their gym (really?) So they are obviously all heavily intoxicated before coming into the bar, but the doorman still let's them in. Ok. They proceed to enter the bar and cause quite the commotion. Now, I've been in quite a few rough bars and surrounded by many drunk people in my time, so don't anyone think I am just some easily offended yuppy. So one of these men, I believe maybe the owner of the gym, somehow is given a bottle of rum and is helping himself to as much as he wants. I can tell this bar has lost control. I see a man with a beard, who I assume is the owner or manager...and he is laughing and joking with these people. My friend and I begin to wonder how long before something goes terribly wrong. It's obvious these "athletes" cannot handle their booze, and it's become amateur hour. It's about at this time I see one of this bars famous pudding shots flying from the bar next to me and completely covering my girlfriend and I. By the time I look at where it came from, the drunken MMA "tough guy" has already slipped back in to the crowd without so much as an apology. We speak to the bartender and he gives us club soda, and buys us drinks and apologizes profusely. He tells us that he wishes these people weren't here either, but I assume his hands are tied by the "management" or whoever is buddies with them. I later noticed the bearded owner/manager was wearing a shirt with the gym on it as well, so I assume he invites them to drink here for some reason, even though it obviously is not for the better of anyone else at the bar. Later on I had the pleasure of one of the "women" in this group getting in my face and telling me I was taking it too seriously. After this things only got worse. This group pretty much took over the bar, and began harrassing women at the bar, and pouring drinks on each other. We ducked out before it got any worse. Bottom line, fun bar to go with if you're with a group of guys and maybe are looking for trouble. Not so good, if you're a woman or with a date. I do have to commend the bartender for handling the situation the best way he could. As for the owner, I would seriously re-evaluate your security measures. How you let hammered fighters into your establishment, then encourage their behavior is beyond me. Also, if anyone knows the name of this gym and the tool owner...I would love to send him our dry cleaning bills.

Lizzy McCormacks is located right off Orange across the street from BBQ Bar and that train wreck known as Tabu. Lizzys provides a great Irish bar type of atmosphere, as well as good beer selections and friendly service on a consistent basis. One of their biggest bragging points is their happy hour. It lasts 2pm to 8pm (!), which is a great way to a hangover. Lizzy's also has daily specials, with $4 wine, select drafts, and 2 for 1 wells. The interior of Lizzy's has lots of crammed in Irish-style décor, which sometimes reminds me of Bennigans, but a lot less tacky. They also have a small patio area, which is perfect for people watching the various characters strolling through downtown (if you can get a seat).

My favorite Irish joint in town. They don't serve food so I can't really call it a 'pub'. Inside is a long bar, dark wood, dark everything. Booths, some couches and a few tables give way to a fair amount of seating. The best seating however, is outside. There are only a few tables, and if they are full when you get there, you'll have to keep an eye out for when one opens up. It's great people watching. Last night my friend and I watched the line form for the sold out show at the Social. We met a wandering artist and bought a cheap print, and generally saw Orange Ave come to life. Happy hour is from 4-8, the extra hour makes it a nice 'first bar of the evening' stop, if you're out early enough. The bartenders are nice and attentive, also not bad eye candy. The long hair goatee dude is aka 'hottie bartender' by my chicas. They've got a full bar, and not a bad selection of taps, including my favorites Pilsner Urquell and the seasonal Pumpkin Head ale. The bathroom is a 1 room affair, and in the girls room they've removed the mirrors to help keep things moving. It's a chill place to hang out downtown when you want a couple of beers and would rather hang back and watch the madness unfold.

Best bar in Orlando. No food just drinks and a great draft beer selection. Lauren and Brian are awsome!

My fav pub! This is the first - and sometimes only - place I go when downtown. The happy hour is what can really rope you in - from 2 to 8 p.m. But the staff is awesome too! Irish bar, Irish decor, Irish accents, and Irish-like outfits! Tons of draught selections with the staples of course - Magners, Guinness - float on top of each other for a smooth Black Velvet! - Harp, Murphy's. And if you are in the mood for a shot, have them make a coffee patron with a bailey's float on top! So good! Thanks Shelley for that one! The patio is sugar sweet for people watching - especially with Tabu and Independent Bar across the street :) But beware of the bums! The bouncers normally keep them in check, but more than once have they come to beg for change, a cig or odd conversation :) So much character here! I love this bar! And, btw, I love Yelp's spell check!

Was on vacation in May in the Orlando area and my brother knowing my taste for Irish bars took me to Lizzy's. Now this was around 1am, and my sole purpose was to drink my fill of Guinness pints. A few things I thoroughly enjoyed about Lizzy's, were both the ambiance of the place. and the decor which consists of many Irish street/road signs of. Bartenders were cool and the bouncer was gracious enough to have a pic taken with me (see my photos). Hell, I even bought a shirt. Great way to spend a night. Will do my best to get back there on my next trip to Flo Rida. Slainte!
