I live in the NW and don't have a Joe's Crab shack near (it's about 2 hours away). I was very excited when I saw that it was down the street from Downtown Disney and we pulled in to eat. We were quoted about a 30-45 minute wait (Friday night) and we went and sat in the bar. The bar was small and had 4 booths and many small round tables with bar stools. It wouldn't have been able to let us eat and so after some of the booths cleared - we asked our waitress/bartender if we could move to the booth. She told us that it was counted as part of the 'waiting list' but she would let us take it (we found out later that it wasn't true as others were grabbing tables without any pushback from the other waiters/bartenders). I ordered a Mango concoction which was amazing. We both ordered some steamed crab and I was impressed at how well the food tasted. We did get potatoes and corn in our steamed pots as well so we were well-fed. Some may argue that it can be spendy ($20+) but I feel that for crab; you are getting a lot for that price. Would come back again and hope they open more branches closer to me in WA - Although maybe not cause I'd go too often.

The best seafood ever! Especially, snow crap and clam. All employees are very friendly. I love it!

The food was delicious. I had the crab stuffed mushrooms. The sauce was nice. I also got the coconut shrimp platter with a side of crab. It was good but the crab was small. I got the peach sangria which was soo good and had fresh fruit in the bottom. The place was very clean. My waitress was very polite and was always coming by the table. I would def go there again.

I ate here June '12 and was thrilled with everything. My parents (near 70 years old), my 18 year old daughter, myself, and my 7 year old niece. We all were extremely satisfied with all the food; portion and quality. Plenty of options and served very fast. We had Kelly as our server and were so blown away by her service and how she treated everyone ages 7-70, that I made a point to speak with the manager about how wonderful she made us all feel. The manager, Alex, was a real gentleman. He said Kelly was new but I explained how she came off as a pro! He spoke with the family for awhile actually listening to us and engaging in conversation. Not the typical "everything alright, folks?" and walk away. P.S. We were all passing around food because we wanted everyone at the table to try the wonderful dishes. Everything we had was perfect. I can't believe I'm writing all this about a seafood chain but it was a pleasant surprise.

This was our first visit to any Joe's Crab Shack (JCS). I've read some of the poor reviews for this location and fortunately for my family and me, our experience was quite different. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the Maui Mahi which tasted great and was only 680 calories (yes, I'm on vacation, but also trying be selective). A side note, if you're watching calories, do a quick search of the menu and pull up the meals you're interested in on MyFitnessPal or similar website (I believe JCS even have a nutritional chart online) before you arrive. My wife and kids weren't as concerned about calories for this particular meal and they enjoyed the Shrimp Pasta Alfredo, Fisherman's Platter, and Popcorn Shrimp. Everyone raved, literally raved, about the taste and portions. Our server was attentive and checked in on us enough. I would rate the service as "average" or "as expected." Nothing special, but not bad either. Music is a little on the loud side, but didn't interfere with our meal or experience. The price was reasonable, in my opinion. If you're on a diet, the selection is a bit limited, but enough to satisfy. If you're not on a diet then YUM. Enjoy a good meal.

I know my kids have eaten here before and that it is a nationwide chain. Showed up for lunch and only 2 other parties were there. We ordered Garlicky Mussels, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, & a Joe's Classic Steampot - - all were ok but the mussels were very salty. The steampot was a bit salty but still ok. Mushrooms were tasty. FYI - - we are on a low salt diet so most restaurant food taste salty. Enjoy.

I had a great time here! The service was great, the waitress was very funny and helpful. The crab dip is to die for! Steam pots are so good, I got mine with garlic & herb and garlic butter to dip my crab in. I would highly recommend this location and this location only! We tried to go to the other location on international drive and it was horrible!!! Totally different vibe, and the employees are all high school students that can't run a restaurant!

My family ate here last night after the Walt Disney World Marathon and it was empty!!! We started off with the crab dip--it was really good. Then I had the Sam Adams steampot. I had asked to substitute shrimp for the sausage. Well, they forgot so our waiter brought the shrimp out a few minutes later---4 measly shrimp. Really?!?! There was only 1 bunch of crab legs (1 claw and 3 legs) in there as well. I think next time I'd just get the crabpot. The pricing is a little higher than I expected but overall I enjoyed the taste of everything.

We went to Joe's with a HUGE party. They sat us in the back, in our own room. There were many servers and they were very attentive. All of our orders were correct and the food was tasty. Great job!!

We had stopped on Sunday early evening, were treated pretty rudely, we walked out. Monday decided to give another try. Our waitress Shay was wonderful, friendly, kept our drinks full. Thanks Shay you redeemed Joe's!! Steamed pot was great!

The service was top notch. The food was...well...an average chain restaurant. The restaurant is very clean and our server was phenomenal. Almost everything is fried fried fried. The steam pots were good. Just wish the fried seafood had a bit more spice. My rating of a 3 is strictly because of the food. Maybe head out and be a bit adventurous if you're in Florida?

  • Rob B.

I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants but this place had excellent service and some pretty good coconut shrimp. It's also pretty loud, there's lots of kids, and it seems like everything on the menu is deep fried.

Great atmosphere, wonderful, service, and food was outstanding. I wish there was one closer to Port St Lucie. Following our experience at this particular Joes, I ventured down south in Broward, and to another locale in Orlando. Both were horrendous. Cold food, and nasty tasting. I'll maintain my rating of this particular Joes, maybe corporate should grab the manager of this Joes and clone he/r for the other locations.

Great food and service! My boyfriend and I went to treat ourselves the last night of vacation- and a treat it definitely was!!! Our server Nate was quick, efficient and friendly. We told the manager how happy we were with his service. At first I was a little intimidated by the pricing and then realized that I was getting a large pot of fresh seafood, and figured It would be worth it. It absolutely was. A pot with crab legs and a full lobster, shrimp, potatoes and an ear of corn was more than I was expecting! Between our 12shrimp app and our pots plus our drinks and a nice tip, our bill was nearly equivalent to one we had at red lobster- and we got twice the food!

Yuck.. From the appearance, the loud, obnoxious music, rude service....Where do i begin?! For starters, why does the music have to be so loud and that you can barely understand what the servers say? And, we had the worst waitress that night. She was rude, unattentive, and annoying. The food was also mediocre and bland. I can honestly say that I will not be returning to this establishment in the future.

1st time in my life I never left a tip, I felt so bad about it. I also don't like writing reviews but this was the worst moment of my vacation. Our waitress never asked us or came by to fill our water. she never asked us if we wanted ketchup for our fries. She made a mistake on my order, I told her hey you made a mistake I never wanted fries I wanted mash potatoes. She said no it's not a mistake they forgot to bring it out. I was like what! The crab shack near Disney Land was much better. I never ever will go back again.

Brought the whole family for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately, and the waitress explained the menu and took our drink order within minutes. When the food arrived, we were all impressed that the portions were perfect and the food was fresh and extremely well prepared. This place is great for a casual seafood dinner. Nothing fancy or dressy. Just really good food. I gave it a four because it was a little pricey, and because the drinks could have used more alcohol, but we will definitely return.

I was here a few months ago and ordered the Joe's Classic Steampot. Ok, lets just say, its a LOT of seafood for one. I managed to stuff all them babies down cause it was fantastic. Parking was good and there wasn't any wait when we showed up for dinner. Service on the other hand tended to disappear when we needed water refills. Otherwise, everything was good overall.

Went today for lunch. The staff was friendly and our waitress was very knowledgable about the menu and drink specials. Her name was Amethyst .... The crab nachos were excellent however the calamari was terrible. No flavor. The breading just fell off before you could even get it in your mouth. We will go again as I am highly addicted to the crab nachos but the calamari need some serious work.

I can truly say that this was a really great meal with an energetic atmosphere. I was seated, given a good waiter & While I was waiting, every waiter rhat passsed by gave a great big smile as if they were glad I was here. Also, before I got my my meal, some of the wait staff got together, formed a line, got the crowd Into the music & then began doing a line dance to a pretty hip song. Eh, it was a Saturday night so why not make the crowd feel good about being there. And when my food came, it was hot & delicious! Great experience for me.

Started off alright as far as being seated and greeted. Hushpuppies were a nice free treat - took awhile to get them though. Waitress got a lil lost in the shuffle . No help trying to get change to tip her-was ready to leave w/o a tip but I am not that cruel. FOOD: you really dont get that much for $20something dollars worth of crabs (the bucket). I would never order that again. The fish and shrimp platter with fries was ok. It was a good portion for the price and the food was well prepared though lacked seasoning. It's alright - but it's been over 2 years since my last visit and it will probably be at least 2 years before my next . ....

Most recent Inspection Report shows no Critical violations. But 3 at Risk violations for cross-contamination, equipment & utensils cleans and restroom problems. I've eaten at another Joes in Orlando several years ago. Had a Steampot and was very satisfied. So I decided to try Joes at a different location. The host was very polite upon entering and leaving. Cleanliness-The booth itself was dirty. And once I received my silvare it was dirty also and had to ask for new silverware. Service-Average. Nothing special. However when I was finished eating, I just sat there. She didn't come over to clear any of my plates and didn't give me a check. I waited for 20 mins. and finally flagged her down myself and asked for the check. She still never cleared my dirty plates and pots and had to sign for my bill amongst all this mess. Food-F for failure. I was told that they had queen crabs which are not one the menu, but they are between the size of a king and a snow. Wrong! (see pic). I was brought a very sad looking bucket of crab for $27. Two clusters of snow crab w/ one claw on each. A cob of corn and 2 of the smallest red potaos I've ever seen. This was NOT what she described. These were definately snow crab. I could of purchased them at my local grocery store and boiled them myself if that's what I wanted to eat. I ordered them w/garlic and herbs. No herbs, not even a garlic taste. When I mentioned this to her, she said they were definately garlic. Not one herb to be seen anywhere. Because the legs were so tiny, I sat there for an hour getting out every tiny morsel. I was determined to get my money's worth. Unfortunately, what I got was pieces of crab and shell all over me and a still hungry spot in my stomach when I left. Do NOT order Queen crab. There's no such thing.

Came here for the first and not too shabby. I ordered the lobster, scallops and wrapped bacon shrimp with hush puppies and it was pretty good and my hubby had the chicken fingers with mash potatoes and he really liked it. Service was really good by Kelly.

First time at this restaurant, I rarely am satisfied with crabs outside of Maryland. They never meet my taste in seasoning. Now these are by no means MARYLAND CRABS, BUT the Ragin Cajun was on point and I will be back!!! If you are a beer drinker, I recommend a Red Strip on the side. Service was good, as our waitress kept ensuring we were on point. I prefer sitting outside, now. Reminds me of younger days. One drawback is you can't substitute Shrimp for Crawfish, but for $8 you can add a pound of Crawfish to your order. If you get a chance, check this place out!!!

My husband and I came to Orlando for our honeymoon, because we were tired of paying so much for a small meal at the Disney parks we decided to eat off site. I had eaten at Joes in Maryland and we like seafood, so it seemed like a good idea to go to Joes. The experience started off a little uneasy because there was such a small crowd; we were seated immediately. The wait staff was very friendly and our drinks were promptly refilled. The food took forever to get to our table and when we started eating, it was clear they had used old oil to fry our fries and our fish. Everything was greasy and the breading wasn't crunchy. We paid over $60 for 2 fried meals that ended up making both of us sick. We won't be back to Joes.

I love seafood, especially crab. Joe's knows a thing or two, when it comes to crab! That's what they do best! So, they say ... Joe's offers a number of spice blends, BBQ, Fire-Grilled, Simply Steamed, Spicy Boil, Garlic Herbs and Chesapeake Style are the seasoning and cooking style options for your favorite crab. For me, it's BBQ Dungeness all the way. I can eat a couple of pounds of this stuff. The crab is not the freshest at Joe's, but the spices make up for it. We also had the Caribbean platter, with a tasty selection of grilled shrimp, coconut battered shrimp (yum) and grilled mahi mahi. We always get a side of hush puppies instead of rice. I like the quick, laid back and easy going service. Everyone is always upbeat and friendly. The décor is kind of out there, but I adore it. Whenever I look around Joe's restaurant, at any location, I can't help but smile every time. It's funky, fun and cheerful at the same time. You always rock, Joe's!

I absolutely love this place. So far, ive had it in California, Nevada and now Florida. Joe's was right across the street from my hotel in Orlando. The sign as you walk into the Orlando location....FREE beer during happy hour. The seafood is awesome. Now me not really being a seafood person, I had there boil which included crab, corn, sausage and shrimp. Even thought, I knew it was going to be alot of food, I went a head and ordered a side of fried shrimp with there special sauce. YUM YUM. If you lucky to be there for your birthday...be prepared. You will be a horse on a stick, they will play some music and you will be required to run around the establishment like a little kid. The service is great and the servers do sing and dance....something you have to see as its funny. If you still have room when you are done, check out the ice cream bar. I couldnt pass up the chance to have Mint Chocolate Chip as it was calling me the entire night from afar. Ok I better stop as its making me hungry.

I've been hearing good and bad reviews about Joe's Crab Shack restaurant chains for a while now, so I decide to check it out for myself while on vacation in Orlando. My conclusion: It's good! I love love love seafood and I definitely satisfied my craving here. I had Joe's Classic Steam Pot with a kick of Cajun flavor. It was finger lickin' goood! A big pot of Dungeness crab, snow crab, potatoes, shrimp, sausage, and corn. I was in seafood heaven. For a low price of $21, it didn't lack flavor or freshness at all. It's a really fun place to dine. I can't vouch for the other items on the menu, but the steam pots are a GO. The service was a bit slow, but that's forgivable. Don't knock it til you've tried it =)

  • Rajah K.

Wasn't a bad dinner but not as good as everyone says it is. The crab was good, the corn was to mushy not crisp and no "crunch" when you bit into it. King crab meat was good but the shell's were very soft and hard to get open because they wouldn't crack just bent and twisted. i would not go back unless i had to because i wasn't as impressed as i thought i would be.

  • Chris B.

Give me a break. This place should be called Wanna-be Crab Shack. I'll make it quick and to the point. The good... service was friendly, attentive, quick. The crab dip appetizer wasn't horrible, but nothing special. My wife's crab cakes were edible but not much more than that. All shredded up "who knows what". No lump meat for sure. My dinner... the king crab with some spices (forgot which) was terrible. Rubery, cold and plain disappointing. Also, if these were their king crab legs I would hate to see how small their snow crab or dungeoness crab legs are. These so called king crab legs were the size of normal snow crab legs in a real crab house. Advise... spend a little more and go to a real seafood restaurant that specializes in crab.

Pathetic service. Service was slow, server had no interest in her job and seemed bothered to have to take care of us. Took a long time to get food, that once served, was overcooked. Would not go back and cannot recommend. Restrooms smelled so bad that you could detect the odor before you got near them.

If you're Ok with a picnic table, beer, and a bucket of heavenly crab, this is the place to go. Prices are reasonable, service is fast and friendly, and you get your crab fix in a hurry. BBQ Dungeoness still my fave with a 22oz Blue Moon.

This was our lost stop on our honeymoon. We had both been wanting to try out a Joe's Crab Shack for awhile now. Super fun place. Lots of bartenders to hlep out with making drinks. Our waitress was super cool and attentive. We shared the crab meal for two. SOOOO YUMMY. The waitresses/waiters all dance to a song at apoint during the night and sing happy birthday in front of everyone for all the birthday people. I loved it.

This is great place to enjoy your favorite seafoods. The service was great, ambience was relaxing. We had our meal outside and were served by Cleo; she's one of the best there. The manager, Patrick checked in on us, thank you Patrick, we'll see you soon; I still can taste that crab. Oh, it's the first for a long time my 13 year old son said, he had enjoyed eating out- he had the coconut shrimp.

"EAT AT JOE'S"S" That is their slogan. I couldn't of said it better myself. This place is great. They have the best Alaskan king crab legs I have ever had. They serve them in a huge bucket ( big enough for 2 people ) with corn on the cob, sausage and potatoes. You can choose from different style crab, dungeness, stone, etc.. or add clams, muscles or shrimp to the bucket. You can also get them prepared various ways with different types of spices. I like them just boiled with some melted butter on the side. On the menu they recommend a cold Bud Light to go with the bucket of crab. A match made in heaven. For all you land lovers out there who don't eat anything from the sea, don't worry. They have plenty of non seafood items on the menu. including cheeseburgers, chicken wings, etc. It is a great family place too. The waiters and waitresses sing and dance around to different music played over the speakers. YMCA was the dance that we got. They also let the kids interact with them and dance if they want to. Joe's is a fun place. Oh and don't worry about making a mess with all that crab and butter, the waitresses will put a bib on you if you are nice.

We have been here before. I tried the Cajun boil, my daughter did the Sam Adams. Outstanding food Joe's Crab Shack is raising money for Autism. A worthy cause. Only downside is that they are not in our home state of Connecticut.

By far the worst experience ever! I've been to other joes crab shacks and was so disappointed and dissatisfied with both the service and the food! The food was cold and we didn't even get any butter with our bucket of crabs. According to the waiter there were no knifes, extra plates, or cold mugs! On top of it all he mixed up all our beers and brought us the wrong ones! We asked for the manager and of course all the utensils magically appeared. She initially showed her conceded and was very apologetic but when it came time for our bill she didn't even hesitate to give us a discount. We questioned the waiter and all they gave us was $10 off from a $100 bill. Never in my life have I ever been so disrespected. I don't mind paying for a good meal but this was the worst dinning experience from start to finish and all they could do was $10 off?! We asked to speak to the manager once again and after explaining our frustration once again she agreed to give us a bigger discount. Last time I come to this crab shack again!!!!!!

never ever want to go this place again. We waited stupid ten minutes for the woman who said will clean the stupid outside table for us!!!but no one came to take care of us!!!!! And I saw the other people took a seat on the table which one is the woman has cleaned. When I told her about this she still did nothing!!! well, I do not think a really good restaurant is which one only have delicious food without respect customer's employees!!!!!

We were doing a Disney trip and this was right down the street from our hotel. Typically we go to a different Joe's location. We should have gone to the other location. We like sitting outside so we can watch our daughter play on the playground. At the other location it is always enjoyable. At this location it was sheer hell. Basically parents sat inside and sent their kids to play. Rocks and shoes (which landed on our table) were being thrown, screaming, yelling, etc. The servers ignored the situation and we talked with a manager, who also tried desperately to ignore the situation. If the kids don't have adult supervision (not 9 year old supervision) the kids should not be allowed on the playground.

I loved the seafood here at Joe's Crab Shack. We were given seafood bibs that had jokes on them. The jokes on some bibs were a little much but the food was great.

Mediocre food for a lot of money. Listen, if you're on vacation from somewhere that doesn't have access to fresh seafood, you may enjoy it and not mind dropping over 100 for a family of 4. Heck, you're already in "spend mode" anyway right? 14 bucks for Mac and Cheese?

This was my first stop at this Joe's but not my first joe's. The food was great and fresh. The drinks were good and the environment was clean. What lacked was the service. We were seated in the bar. Our waitress had no personality and was far more focused on her prep duties. We did have the fortune of listening to her tell every coworker that dared pass by about having to "do 24 pineapples", whatever that entails. She would then go on to complain about the awful close the night before and how someone ( couldn't discern a name, presume management ) was not happy, right up until they uncomfortably snuck away. We would have stayed and had another round but.....no thanks. Nobody wants to listen to their server complain and imply what an inconvenience your presence is, I mean...those pineapples and all.

Really do not agree with the negative reviews. The staff is fast and courteous. Drinks were DELICIOUS as well as the food. This will absolutely be a "disney trip tradition" for my family and I.

My salad came out 30 minutes after we ordered it on a really warm plate, our meal was super late, our server was ok. What blew us away was the service we received after we left the restaurant. We realized my husband lost his wedding ring, we thought he might have taken it off while wiping his hand at the table. We called and spoke with Aubrey, he said he would look at our table. By the time we returned to the restaurant, he had already gone through our trash bucket and even the trash in the men's bathroom. He went above and beyond, helped us go through the trash again, and even walked the parking lot with a flash light. You don't find that kind of service a lot now. We ended up finding his ring in the car later that night. I'm really greatful for how helpful he was to us and will make sure to be seated in his area the next time we are back. Thank you Aubrey for all of your help and kindness!!

Food, drinks and service were awesome. Had the classic steam pot for 2. Came very fast. Drinks were tasty and stiff. This Joe's has brought me back to liking this franchise, some Joe's are horrible. Will definitely return here.

The service was great but I was surprised it was so quiet! We got the crab dip as an appetizer and each got a crab pot. The crabs were flavorful and cooked well, the boy's lobster was delicious, and the hush puppies were pretty good...I just dipped them in butter to give them the extra oomph! I was happy with everything about the visit!

Kids love the chicken dippers and kids steam pot. All the steam pots are pretty good. Don't get the shore special with bbq butter tasted like I was eating from a salt shaker. Kids were very happy with their build your own ice cream sandwich and paint your own crab rice Krispy treat. Overall average experience that I would expect from a chain.

If you want the smallest portions of crab legs known to mankind, this is your place. I was forced to come here by my kids. A kids crab leg meal is $10 and after pulling all the meat out it equalled 1 small chicken leg drum per $10 meal. 3 kids $30.00 plus 3 t-shirts at $20 a piece well, looks like I got taken to the cleaners twice!! Then they asked to order a pizza 30 min. later at the hotel because, "no big surprise" they were starving!

    (1)
  • Basil M.

People and service was excellent, but the food just wasn't that good. Really wanted to like it and we were starving after long day, but it's more of a gimmick vs a good seafood restaurant.

    (2)
  • Shane N.

The service was literally the worst service we have ever had. 3 of the 5 people in our party are in the food service industry. We generally give the benefit of the doubt and understand reasons behind the scenes for problems. It literally took 1:15 to get our food. We had to remind our server we ordered an appetizer, that took 45 minutes. They honestly didn't care. We tried to order more food after ours arrived and asked if it would take another hour......"I can't promise you it won't, it's a crazy night". The restaurant was 1/2 full. The apathy, the lack of any attention, the groups of servers hanging out at the bar while our drinks went dry and our orders never came. We asked for the manager, he finally came, none of us had seen this person on the floor for the entire evening. If it was such a "crazy night" he should have been all over the place helping his staff. Incompetence is the word. Zero attention to anything. The place had no leadership or accountability. It was a joke. A really bad joke with no punch line.

Love coming here on our visits to Orlando! Service was a little on the slow side but the wait staff made it ok. Besides my daughter loves playing on the playground! We got the cajun steam pot and the clan steam pot! Delicious with plenty of meaty seafood. Hate this restaurant closed in charlotte love coming here!

Joes food is great! I went with the family and it was fun. The only thing is don't go there If you want a quiet dinner or have a headache. The lights, music and singing and dancing are all loud. It's cute and fun!!! I had the Aruba shrimp salad which was phenomenal. The buckets are delicious. The calamari was so tender and flavorful. I would definitely go here again.

Awesome customer service. My family and I were pressed for time to catch a flight when we stopped in for lunch. Because it was our first time at a Joe's Crab Shack, we weren't sure what to expect. We let the host know we were trying to catch a flight and he brought a server right over. She walked us through the menu and made recommendations based on our available time. The food got to us quickly and was perfect for our family of seafood lovers. What stood out was the highly attentive service by the entire staff. The server checked on us regularly and even the host made sure we were not lacking any drinks or utensils. I regret not having the servers name, but I was sure to speak with two managers to express our gratitude at such incredible service. The food was tasty, but the service is what really drove me to give five stars!

If you want crab, they have just about everything. I think I've been to a Joe's in my home town before and remembered it being ok and this experience was about the same. Our waiter didn't seem to excited about his job and he didn't seem to know the answer to some of our questions... reason for my 3 stars The crab nachos were pretty darn good. My husband had the fish and chips and they were very good - three very large pieces of lightly battered fish filets. He couldn't even eat all of it. I had the blackened mahi sandwich - grilled nicely but I liked it better off of the bun.

Simply amazing! Both my fiancée and I got the steam pots. Best lobster we've ever had! Also $2 beers was a great deal. Fun experience! Loved the service. My fiancée's mussels were mostly empty shells and the manager came over and gave us a full 1 lb to replace the mistake. Then we later found all the mussels that we thought were empty had just fell out of the shells and at the bottom of the pot under the lobster and crab. Loved every minute of being there. Great place to get some of the best lobsters and crab combos.

Really bad food! They couldn't make a decent Caesar salad, the lobster bisque tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese, the lobster was super dry and had no taste. Not even melted butter could have revived it. Poor lobster wasted his life to become a chewy mess that had to be thrown away.

I ate here February 2012, got the Voodoo Queen for $25, and thought it wasn't too bad. The crab legs, shrimps, and big sausage was excellent, but I didn't like the crawfish. I've had better crawfish in Tampa at another restaurant (been so long, I forgot the name).

Lobster bisque was poor, it tasted more like a creamy tomato soup. The king crab legs tasted old or freezer burned and were very small.

Went at a time when there was very few people there. The food wasn't great, service was ok but it took a ridiculous amount of time to get the food. I had been here once before and the food was decent. Maybe it was just a bad day for them. Not sure I'll go back though.

I was about to start this review by saying "Sorry," but you know what? I'm not sorry, Joe's Crab Shack should be sorry, cause this was the worst ($50+) dining experience I've ever had. It's also the worst seafood experience I've ever had, and by that I mean that Red Lobster blows this place away. This restaurant is a trap for people who don't know what crab is supposed to taste like and how much to pay for it. To be honest, I should have known better and I'm kind of ashamed that I fell for it, but they have a good marketing campaign and it sucked me in and it also sucked $90 out of my wallet. I'm not even going to waste my time typing up all the numerous flaws we found, because the bottom line is that the crab was a rediculously small portion, totally flavorless and DRY. Somehow these people take some of the sweetest, most succulent meat around and make it taste like fish-flavored jerky. It was awful, we hardly ate any of it and threw the leftovers in the dumpster before we even got to the car. DON'T DO IT!

3.5 stars i've seen the commercial numerous times on television. we have one locally in san francisco bay area, but never really cared to try it. it was literally down the street from our hotel, so we decided to swing right in. its a very LIVELY environment. when i mean lively i mean its really loud and filled with lotssss of people. servers singing and dancing. there's even balloon making! if you are terrified at the thought of getting your fingers dirty, this is not the spot for you! im not much of a seafood eater, but i come because my friends LOVE IT. anyway, its pretty much and americanized version of our lovely THE BOILING CRAB located in san jose, ca. same method of eating. =P instead of crawfish...its CRAB. they have a variety of things here. its not only filled with seafood. theres burgers...pasta....salads and etc. i ordered a bunch of little things, and it was all so very yummy. definitely recommend the crab balls! its SOOO cheesy filled with bits of jalapenos fried to perfection. all the drinks here were MMM...i really liked there strawberry lemonade something. sweet yet not too sweet to taste the alkie. for the crab openers...i think its mean for you to take home because it says something like "to steal" on it. pretty neat! so guess what?! we "stole" it for our souvi from orlando! =P our server was definitely a good time! he had a good sense of humor and even hooked us up with a bottle of corona. =) pretty pricey! but it was a good experience. =)

Let's just say... If you expect your food to look anything like the photo in the menu in size or portion, you are sadly mistaken. We ordered the King Crab bucket expecting a bountiful bucket of crab to satisfy our hunger, and received instead the smallest 3 legs, 2 small potatoes, and an ear of corn. Keep in mind it was my husband and I splitting this $33+ bucket and we were never told it was going to be small... In fact we were told it was going to be 1 and 1/4 lb. of crab. Wrong-o! Okay, but odd service. Overall expensive and disappointing meal that left us so dissatisfied that I am writing this review as we are ordering more food at Steak & Shake across the street...

I loved this place! They were singing and dancing even though it was an hour before closing the wait staff was very energetic and tentative to us. Our server suggested the sampler for the appetizer since we weren't sure what everything on the menu was and it turned out to be very delicious and generous portions especially for a sampler appetizer. We ordered one of the pots of seafood to share which included a pound of clams, shrimp, two lobsters, a sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes. I was very surprised that his entree only cost $47 with the two lobsters being included. Everything was delicious and filling. This is definitely a place to revisit in the future.

Went for the crab pots. We went to one in IL and it was good. The food was good here as well. The staff was friendly and service was good. Only sad part which is the same with the IL one is the amount of food compared to a different restaurant in Seattle. Not much of a surprised considering Chicago is far from the oceans and Florida, well, we've had a hard time finding good seafood here the few years we've been living here

We were staying at a nearby resort and decided to drop in for a fun and casual lunch. I have to admit, pulling into the parking lot I was having second thoughts - this Joe's looked dingy and unkempt from the outside. Lucky we ignored this and proceeded inside. We had an appetizer of mussels that were good texture and flavor - a touch garlicky but right up our alley. Afterwards we shared a bucket with lobster, crab and other assorted things seasoned in Old Bay, which was also just right. But I have to say the real highlight of this visit was the drinks. We had a Southern Spiked Tea & a Twisted Cherry Limeade which were both unexpectedly fabulous. All and all it was a good, fun and messy time topped with terrific drinks.

Ordered calamari and Samuel Adams Pot with Lobster, Snow Crab, and Clams. IT WAS SO GOOD. The wait staff were very nice and helpful. Totally recommend it.

Went here on my 1st wedding anniversary with the family while visiting WDW in June '10. Since it was our anniversary, the waiter FORCED my husband to sing to me IN FRONT OF EVERYONE WHILE ON BENDED KNEE "You Are My Sunshine". I never really cared for crab because I hated working for my food, but once I had tried one of the Cajun steam pots, I felt there wasn't enough! The waiter was very funny and I think hitting on my gay Uncle! This place is PERFECT for kids because it is loud and entertaining. My son loved that there was a playground in front of the restaurant, but no worries parents it's fenced so the kids can't run into the parking lot. BTW, want a free souvenir from this place? Take the funny crab utensil that says "I stole this from Joe's Crab Shack". My family and I still use ours to this day! I am definitely thinking about trying the one closer to home in SF...

I went here this past Saturday night and it was a huge disapointment. This was not my first visit to Joe's but it was probably my last. We don't have a Joe's in Miami so everytime we are in Ft.Lauderdale or Orlando we make sure we eat there. This time we were on a weekend getaway with two other couples so we decided to have dinner here instead of going thru with a reservation we had at one of the theme park restaurants. Big mistake. We got there around 8pm and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Our waitress came, took our orders and brought the drinks right away. That's where the quick service ended. The appetizers took a good 30 minutes to arrive. As far as taste, it was lacking. I don't know about the other appetizers but my garlicky mussels should have been called garlicky-salty mussels because they were SUPER salty. We always have this appetizer when we go to Joe's and it has never been so salty. Not to mention a few of the mussels came empty. At any rate, by that point we were so hungry we inhaled the mussels, despite the saltiness. Now on to the food. We waited. and waited. and waited some more. The wait from the time we sat down to the time we got our food was over an hour. We were already talking about leaving when they brought the food out. By the time the food got there most of us had lost our hunger. I wish the waitress would have stopped by within that hour we were waiting and offered an apology or an explanation. It was only after we got our food that she apologized. Coincidentally, I heard two other tables around us complaining about the slow service. I guess they were just having a rough night. I understand it can get crazy in the back of a restaurant and sometimes things are beyond your control. But on nights like that, the restaurant should take some sort of loss to retain their customers rather than have them leave angry. Perhaps offer a complimentary drink or basket of bread while they wait or even offer a complimentary dessert afterwards. Had anything been offered to us as an apology perhaps we would have left with a more postivie attitude. The manager did stop by and apologize for the long wait which was nice. He said they had an issue in the kitchen.

We went twice in a week while we visited Disney last month. The food was great. My wife ordered a basket of sea food (sorry I forgot the exact name of the dish). The portion was generous (we visited Joe's Crab's Virginia branch and the portion was just half of what this branch offered). My wife thought the crab was fresh and cooked well. I am not a big fan of sea food so I ordered the signature hamburger. Surprisingly the burger was great. So I ordered the same burger in both visits. The decoration was just average. The servers were friendly and checked on us pretty often. Overall I recommend this place.

The interior design of the place is nice. The person who was taking my order seemed friendly and knew what was the popular dish. I had Joe's Classic Steampot and Old Bay Steampot. The only difference with these two steampots were that Classic one had shrimp and the Old Bay had claims. The waitress might ask you if you want it spicy or original. I had half and half, and the original was way better. The spicy one wasn't even spicy it was just way too salty. However the original was like dunked in pepper. Bleh! Overall steampot doesn't really make you full cause it doesn't have much.

Myself, my sister, and a friend stopped in here for dinner on the second night of our vacation. I had the Ragin' Cagin' steamer thing..crab legs and some other things, all delicious. My sister had crab legs which were also delicious. Our friend had the steak and shrimp, which she said was great. Desert was good. Service was awesome. Our server Nic was right on top of it with refills etc and was very friendly!

Very nice waiter (Fez) and manager the atmosphere was lively and colorful. I had the Orleans steam pot with the Cajun spice it had a pound of crawfish sausage shrimp, potatoes, and corn. All were perfectly spiced and tasty. The pricing was the big downfall 20.00 for each steam pot is kind of steep. If you are in the mood for this type of meal it was acceptable

I always enjoy Joe s crab shack. It is a great place to obviously get crabs. The crabs are good but it is not the best seafood in the world. I got the snow crab and my friend got the mussels snow crab and shrimp. A new dish. We each had a mohito and the key lime pie was excellent It was not to sour. A good choice for a middle of the road eatery.

Went to How's for dinner tonight. While waiting for the host/hostess, I observed that of the 65 tables in the restaurant, 25 were available. After waiting 5 minutes, the host approached to seat the two of us. We were advised that the wait would be 20 minutes. He offered us seating at the "full service" bar. After waiting approximately ten minutes, and two customers whom had seated after my party were greeted and received a cocktail. Finally, one of the two bartenders, who were also waiting on tables, greeted us. Food was skimpy. Service was slow and non-existent. Received my salad without requested dressing. Waited again for the dressing. Food came immediately thereafter. During our meal, we again were ignored. Never asked if we needed anything until we finished our meal. The only part of the meal was the flavor in the snowcrab legs. Which was cold. I Do Not recommend this restaurant. Such a disappointment. Service was Horrible!!!!

The food was pretty good. The size of the crab legs kind of disappointed me. Considering my family steams snow crab legs often, we get pretty large clusters. Oh well. The seasoning for the spicy boil was spicy on top (tingle on the lips hot) but "meh" in the legs portion. I would have like more potatoes. Two wasn't doing it for me. The corn was rubbery too. Not what I call fresh but it's a chain. I should have known. The best part was the server Mike. Mike has the best voice-over/announcer voice and really sells the food. He brought this review up from 2-stars to a 3-stars. Also, the Cotton-Eye Joe dance was kind of lame. Had I known they would dance like that, I would have avoided the place. Poor dancing annoys me.

We went to Joes Crab Shack for my birthday dinner. I told the waitress Evie that it was a special day. I asked what fish was best. She studdered and thought for a while and suggested the Talipia. I was not convinced. She really didn't seem to know. We ordered our meal. We waited 20 minutes as she walked past us to serve the table next to us. Each time she would turn the opposite direction back to the kitchen, never even looking at us. I was actively seeking her attention. After 20 To 30 Minutes the kids drinks were done and they were falling asleep. We called for the manager, explained what happened, and left for Chili's next door. There really weren't that many tables occupied and she had only one other table that we could tell. I see no reason for such poor service. I didn't even want to eat there any more. Needless to say, I won't be going back. Our food is on the table here at Chilies. We have only been here 15 Min at most. Great service here at Chili's.
