My (gluten-free) friend and I came here for a take out dinner. This place has decent TexMex. Very typical, run-of-the-mill Mex. This location is very convenient to the hotels so if you're craving enchiladas or fajitas go for it. The do have a few gluten-free options and it wasn't hard for my friend to find something for dinner. We sat at the bar to wait for our food... I would have preferred a more attentive bartender as he never asked if we wanted drinks or chips while we waited for our dinner (took about 25 minutes) to be cooked. I eventually was able to order a margarita. I will return in the future if invited by friends. Unfortunately, with all of the other delicious options in town, I won't be recommending this restaurant to others.

We went on June 30, 2015. The waitress was great, super friendly brought extra chips and salsa on her own and had a great attitude. Chips were decent. Salsa was jar type and not fresh pico style many other Mexican places are doing nowadays. In our minds salsa can make or break a place. The fajita wrappers were amazing. The margarita was great since it was the kind from a tap machine so no ice chunks get in the straw. The fajita was weak. Chicken wasn't great and onions were barely cooked. The rice was dry and of little taste. We were not overly impressed. Not as good as the good old days. Would we go back? Not on vacation, maybe if we lived nearby.

As a native Texan I don't expect much from Mexican food outside of Texas but I've been pleasantly surprised by several places in the Orlando area. And Don Pablo's being a Texas chain and it having a great location I thought it would at least be decent. It wasn't. It was hands down the worst Mexican food I've ever had and I've had it all over the world. Even if someone didn't know about tex mex it's still just bad food. One star is generous. Everything about this place was pure hell. If it weren't for the the location there is no way they would stay in business. I used to enjoy eating at DP back home. I think this must be a franchise or something

Don Pablo's has been one of my favorite chain Mexican restaurants, unfortunate they have struggled over the past few years. I stopped here for some fajitas when I was in Orlando for the weekend. The tortillas are still awesome, the rest not so much, the chicken had a strange texture, hard to describe, it made me nervous to eat. I sat at a table in the br Ana d my server was the bartender, he did a great job, very attentive...

We were greeted by one of the managers then promptly seated.... Our waitress was AWESOME very attentive and not intrusive at all!!! Squeezarita is one of the best margaritas you can ever have, do yourself a favor order a border dip it is their signature appetizer and is soooooo good you won't regret it unless you have cero tolerance to spicy food!!! The Presidente was great, kids burgers are not your typically small burger they can satisfy any adult and they are really good. Restaurant was not Packed so waited about 5 minutes for our appetizer and 10 for entrees after we received the border dip.....manager did stop by to ask about our experience and I did say " PERFECT"

Not sure why this is not a 5 star on yelp! My food is always great! I get the steak fajitas and perfect every time! The guacamole is the best I've had in town! Ignore the cranky reviews and go! You will not be disappointed

The food looks amazing but the taste.. Non existent. The server was great! Very sweet very attentive. But the food was tasteless. All 6 of us agreed. Never had bad Mexican food before :/

This is the first time we went to this location. We were a group of 12 and were a little skeptical about service based on our previous experiences at many different locations. But we were in for a surprise our server JIAN who was also the bar tender was extreme professional courteous and by far surpassed our expectations of customer service. And belive me we are a demanding group. He should be made the brand ambassador for customer service.

Excellent food and excellent service. Gian (both the bartender and waiter) did a particularly great job even though we had a very large party and were disorganized. Best tex mex place and this location doesn't disappoint.

This place was terrible. Service was extremely slow and the food was not great at all. Perhaps if the staff should spend more time and effort on food preparation and service and less time on singing happy birthday to patrons the food would be better. Don't waste your time or money.

We had the worst experience. First our waitress totally dropped the ball on our order. We were taken over by a second waiter. Although he tried the best he could our good still. And out wrong and missing items. The taste quality was below average. When the manager stopped by to drop off one of the dinners that had to be corrected there was no apology or recognition of the mistake. Overall, poor service. Bad food and bad management.

If you don't feel like reading the entire review, here's the short. .. Don't go.The food was bad. The taco beef tasted like a foreign rusty salty protein. The food sat in heat lamp too long, food was overly salty, ingredients were miles from fresh. The chips and salsa were the best part of the meal and the chips tasted like they had been outside for 2 days. Here's the long. ...We visited a Don Pablos in Orlando about 10 years ago and remembered a good time with good food. When we realized there was a restaurant still thriving on I-Drive, we did what most Orlando residents don't do. ..... go to I-Drive. We arrived with great anticipation. Our menus were sticky with dried salsa on them. We hurried to get our orders figured out. We then started on our salsa and chips. The salsa must have been a local favorite because as soon as it arrived, so did 2 very small flies. I found myself in a brief joust with these 2 guys until something at another table must have attracted them more than me or the salsa. I'm only assuming they were there for the salsa. Perhaps they were there to honor their fallen comrade who rest peacefully suspended in my Margarita. God rest his little winged soul. I removed the fallen fellow and started on the Margarita. The Margarita was good. Standard but good. I had to supress the fact that I know when fruit flies turn up in drinks, it means the bar is not clean nor is the drink. After the Margarita order, I ordered a queso dip skillet thing. The queso dip tasted like melted rubber with a hint of Velveeta and there was a stripe of that rusty protein taco beef separating the queso from the beans. The beans were good until the meat & queso infiltrated. I had already ordered a combo meal before I realized that maybe this foreign rusty salty protein may be in everything I ordered. I was hoping the mixture was signature only to the bean queso skillet thing. It wasn't. The entrees came out and our waiter was excited to bring them. I'm only making an assumption but I think his excitement was more for the food not having to sit in the heat lamps any longer rather than for us getting these prepackaged and previously frozen masterpieces. For starters, the "authentic" Empanadas were nothing more than those frozen rolled corn Taquito things you can get at any supermarket or middle school cafeteria and it was cut into thirds. One third had actually fallen or even rolled off of my plate and onto the serving tray in transit from the heat lamps to the tiny fly jousting arena (our table). Last I checked, Empanadas don't roll. As opposed to offering to bring me a replacement "third", the waiter just didn't mention anything and took the tray and a third of one of my 3 items with him. I didn't even get a complete meal. There it was. The foreign rusty protein in the first item. A crunchy (beef?) taco. I've never turned down a crunchy taco. This time, I did. I took a very small bite to confirm it was the awful protein. It was. How I wish it wasn't. Although now I have a story about the first time I turned down a crunchy taco. I cannot honestly say I did not have that before I went to Don Pablos I-Drive. The next item was an authentic chicken enchilada. There were pieces of chicken smattered under a freshly hardened corn tortilla that had a gelatinous design of a squiggle line down it off some poblano type sauce. All melted and suspended in time by the heat lamps. I ordered double beans because I'm not a fan of rice. Aside from their kinetic putty-like texture from being under the lamps, they actually had the most authentic flavor of anything else on my plate. Our other entree was the chicken quesadilla. Other than it seemed like the chicken had been sliced from a frozen & previously char grilled chicken breast. You know, the ones you get at the store or sliced in a bag at the store where it looks like the grill marks are colored on with a permanent maker. Aside from that, they were bordering on mediocre. I understand though, it's hard to screw up melting cheese on a tortilla. If you're in the mood for ordinary margaritas and only ordinary margaritas, this is your place. If you're in the mood for "authentic" Mexican food, go to Garibaldi's. This food was about (if not less) as authentic as Taco Bell only Taco Bell is better.

I just ate at Don Pablos for the first time. Heidi was our server, some of the greatest service ever had. I recommend going. Taco Tuesdays are a great deal, especially when you have to service that we did! Coming back soon.

Cheap, not so good tasting food is what you'll find here. Its not terrible, but just know it's not the mexi food you have been craving before finding a mexican food joint. The service was nice and the staff was friendly but the food needs improvement.

Mediocre at best. I came here with some friends for my cousins birthday, and what a birthday it was! This place was very BAD to say the least. But everywhere else was full so we were forced to settle here. We first had some chips for appatizer that did not taste fresh. The chips seemed soggy as if it has been out for a long time. The food was just average, nothing special. The waiter seemed uncaring and rushed everything. He even slammed the food on the table and never cracked a smile. We noticed this not just from our waiter but from every other waiter in the restaurant. He did not offer any refills at all and never came to the table only to bring the check. Take this advice: Only eat here as a last resort.

  • John W.

The food was ok. Nachos are not fresh and are not even warm. The place is not too busy but the floor in the dining room and into the kitchen are very dirty and food and trash throughout while the manager is just standing and leaning on counters or anything else that will hold him up. The server was slow and rarely checked back with us. This place needs a good cleaning and updating. Looks the same as it did back in the 1990's. There is also no feel of authenticity here. Typical tourist dining with no care. What a shame.

I received a $5 off $25 check coupon so I decided to give it a shot. Prior to visiting I checked Yelp for reviews and wasn't amused but I was feeling brave so decided to go anyway. Upon arriving we noticed the parking lot was ghost town, as well as the inside. Got sat down immediately and less than 5 minutes our waitress Tammy introduced herself and asked for drink orders. She brought us our drinks as well as chips/salsa. The first batch was not so great but the second batch that came along with our queso blanco (so good) tasted a lot better. Ps- queso blanco was $5 and a really great size for the price! I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Tacos and they were so good! They came with 3 tacos, beans, and rice. My bf ordered the Tres Amigos Enchiladas. He wasn't a fan of the meats but did like the cheese sans the onions. All in all, if you are a Mexican food fiend, this isn't the place for you. It's definitely not the best I've ever had, but it was good enough that I would return.

If I hadn't been to a different Don Pablo's I'd never visit one again. The service was abysmal and most of the food was tasteless. The salsa and queso were good but the chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, beef tacos, chili reanos, rice, and black beans were lack luster at best. It wasn't much off from eating cardboard. Don't do what we did and ignore the reviews assuming this location is anywhere as good as the others. You'll be severely disappointed.

We did not have the best experience here. The service was extremely slow. Took thirty minutes to get our drinks and over an hour to get our food. The food was okay. Not the best.

Disappointed! Had been here several years ago when we were in orlando and I was really looking forward to going back. Place is lovely if a bit cavernous, server was really friendly but the food was not as good as it used to be. The tortilla chips were very greasy, I had ordered one of the sampler type plates and found the food to be salty and not as tasty as I remembered. With such a choice of restaurants in this area I wouldn't recommend.

This is basically taco bell, but a sit down version. Service: Our waitress looked a bit overworked, but overall was pretty nice. Delivered us complimentary chips and salsa which I think was the best thing I had all night. Food: I got a crunchy taco (shell was deep fried to a rubbery texture with mystery meat) and a chicken chille relleno (hot mess of deep fried pepper with watery chicken stuffed inside). Also got a side salad - dressing was good, but salad was entirely ice berg, some tomatoes and more chips. Rice - super salty. Price: $10-13 for entrees with big portions. Quality of food wasn't that great, so the price is actually pretty expensive. Think of if you spent $10 at taco bell how full you'd be! Overall: Wouldn't come back here again. I did leave feeling full and didn't get sick the next day so at least there's comfort in that.

Please don't spend time here if you are looking for some Mexican food. Dried out, sat under the heat lamp too long, and even coming in 45 minutes before closing with only 4 other tables here, and it was still over 90 minutes. Not good

  • Thayne C.

Big disappointment. Atmosphere was nice but food was nothing special and the service was pretty bad. The queso dip was pretty flavorful and my daughter liked the flautas but the soup had almost no taste and my enchiladas were very average. Don't know if it was an off night but the service was almost non-existent and it was not very busy. Our server forgot things she said she'd bring on several occasions and the beer I ordered when we sat down came halfway through eating our entrees and long after the appetizer. With so many choices in the area is definitely try somewhere else.

My experience here was terrible. There's a location by our house and I don't even know if I'll be able to go there after this experience. After waiting on my food for over 40 minutes it was cold when it came out of the kitchen. The sauce looked unappetizing on top of my chicken enchiladas. It's was completely disgusting. And My boyfriends food came out wrong... The waitress did nothing for us except apologize to us. The only reason I gave this one star is... They have a company that comes in and takes free pictures /prints them out and just accepts tips. She was wonderful. She made our night! I can't wait to frame the picture from our vacation. Out of the whole experience she was the only good thing out of it. Other than that I wasted my time... Don't waste yours. there's so many more restaurants on international drive... Try those!!!

Arrived later in the evening, and service was very average, cold chips, and tortillas...... Will never go back. If you want "cheap" and "average" give it a try, or for a similar experience try Taco Bell..... Good luck !

We Visit don Pablo's about once a month. Our visit last month was disappointing because our server was not attentive like we were used to. Upon arriving this time we requested a server and walaa great server attentive, order correct , went out of her way to make sure we were happy. Food was ok. Right as i was signing the check I moved the specials lil menu next to the salt & pepper and I Was greeted with a huge cockroach laying on his back but still alive as he was wiggling! We won't be back I'm so disgusted we ate before we saw this!

Very unprofessional staff. Even the manager. I sat the whole time there with one drink and had to get up and go to the bar to ask for a refill. The food was subpar I would rather go to Chipotle. After ordering the waiter never took our menus so we had to eat with them in front of us. When entering the place was pretty much dead and then randomly a whole convention entered and employees just lost it, acting like they didn't want to do their job and serve people. At the end of the night I wanted to try the ice cream tacos but after ordering them I sat there for thirty minutes wondering where they were and still was never visited by my waiter for a refill. Nor did he remove the finished plates. I had to get up to tell the manager who just removed the ice cream tacos from the bill and didn't even bother to ask his server where they were at. Bullshit. They don't deserve another dime of my money and I'll never return. I hope this review will divert anyone from coming here.

This is no exaggeration, if McDonalds made Mexican food, it would be this crap. I was in town for a half marathon and needed a combo of protein and carbs. I ordered a make your own combo of chicken soft taco, pork tamale and chicken enchilada w/ charro beans. Gag!!! I was there within a few minutes of ordering and was told they were packaging it up. How is it that I received it partially cold/luke warm??? No flavor at all, just really gross. The beans tasted like they were just boiled, the salsa was jar variety and everything else was just nasty. Had I not already spent money on it and really REALLY needed to eat before the race, I would have thrown it out and had a protein bar. This place should not even be in business.

Below-Average tex-mex chain. Incredibly slow service. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because their salsa is not entirely bad. I had the chicken chimichanga and when I cut into it I found it was overly moist and soggy, the liquid from inside drained onto my entire plate. Would not go here if you're used to good tex-mex.

Disappointing lunch, bad service, fajita salads were not made with fresh lettuce. The avocados were brown, the fajita veggies were brought out on a cold fajita pan. So sad, this used to be one of our favorite lunch spots.

Enjoy Don Pablo's and try to dine there when in the area. Love their fresh tortillas made fresh right in front of restaurant. They have a wide choice of choices on their menu and the BEST con quest dip and topping. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Pick the fajitas and queso dip

The bartenders Rob and Alexis were professional, accommodating, and a ton of fun! When visiting Orlando, as rare as it is for me, I like to try different restaurants, however DP's was right next to the show we went to see so we decided to drop in for a margarita. Mind you, we arrived just after seeing the show DRIP, which if you know anything about it, you can imagine the looks we got when we arrived. Rob promised great service from the minute we sat at the bar! While he was doing side work and helping clean up (we did arrive close to closing time), Alexis picked up where he left off and suggested a few great menu options, (we had the dip sampler and I had the chicken chipotle bbq tacos) and served us our Primoritas. The Primoritas weren't the top shelf buzz i was expecting but the flavor was good and they were much less expensive that what I'm familiar with in LA or Las Vegas. 2 of our friends joined us just as they closed the front doors and they were kind enough to still throw one last round of Maragaritas in for us, but not before finishing off the night with a round of shots. By no means were we going there to get drunk, but what was meant to just be a relaxing, end of the night, post-show, drink, became a very great night amongst friends, and 2 bartenders who certainly know how to entertain and host their guests! I will likely be back a time or two before I leave town just for the fun company and great chipotle bbq sauce! :)

The drinks were cold, that is the nicest thing I can say. The salsa was gross. Our waitress was rude. She messed up our order, there was only 3 of us & we were not needy customers. Two of us ordered enchiladas and they were straight up nasty! Not sure how they were so watery but they were. They were luke warm along with the dried out rice. I do not know how this place is open. . Guessing it's so many out of town people that don't know any better. My advice STAY AWAY!!

Went there yesterday for lunch. The food was awesome as always but the service was lacking. Our waiter was busy and doing everything he could but definitely needed more help. Some people actually left before they ordered their meal but I knew it would be well worth the wait so we did and it was worth it. And took home or to our hotel a box for my midnight snack. So I would recommend the food but only if your not in a hurry. But it is worth the wait!!!

The service kills this place. The food is good but they just can't take care of the customers. It's a chain, you know what to expect. It's what you expect with poor service.

Cinco combo is Not good or as pictured... low quality chicken & beef. LOTS of oil....

The quality of service here was really bad. The waiter kept making rude comments and it took an hour to get our food. The food was not bad but the terrible service greatly outweighs the quality of the good.

I got a Yelp account specifically for this place. Horrible service- waited a very long time to place our order and twice as long for our food to come. Once our food came, we realized we had no silverware, more waiting. No water refills, our waiter was never anywhere to be found. HOWEVER- the food was tasty and fresh.

Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The DIY guacamole was very good as was the food, service and overall experience. The guac that comes with entrees is not that good though. Great value restaurant. Legit salsa both regular and "macho"

We stopped at Don Pablo's for some Mexican eatin' (don't get it, Sir Mix a lot??) Their lunch specials are off the chain! $5.99 for their speedy lunch or $7.99 for their burrito bowls. YUM!! Quick and friendly service. Cheap!, and good tasting food. I'll go back again for sure.

We sat at the bar for quick snack and drink. Antwon was our bartender and was excellent! The conversations were great, drink recommendations etc. Highly recommend sitting with him! Nachos were really good also!!!

We ate here because we were wanting some Mexican food and this place was within walking distance of our hotel. The inside was nice and clean, with a bar area and dining area. We sat in the bar because there was an open booth. Service was friendly and efficient if not completely perfect. The food value was very good in my opinion. We ordered the queso dip for $5.99 , which came out in a large skillet and was very tasty. We weren't able to finish it all there was so much. I got some fresh tortillas along with that and they were very good. The chips and salsa were good though I wish the salsa had a bit more bite. We also ordered a chicken quesadilla for $8.99 and it was a huge portion (basically two quesadillas) stuffed with chicken and a blend of cheeses. For drinks we ordered a pitcher of frozen strawberry margarita. It was kind of funny because the waitress was stunned that we wanted frozen margarita in a pitcher, she said she had never served it that way before (!). As a long time buyer of pitchers of frozen margaritas, this was really strange for me. However, they were able to overcome and bring us a pitcher like we asked and it was good. Not super strong, but tasty. All in all, it was a good meal and I feel we got a good value for our money. I would recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

I went to this restaurant several years ago when I was in Orlando and I thought it was good. Unfortunately things have changed for the worse. The restaurant was not busy and service was poor. I noticed the restaurant was dirty with dishes left on the tables after customers had left, debris on the floor etc. The restaurant was not short handed because there were 4 or 5 waitstaff standing around talking. The kitchen staff I think had a case of butterfingers. We heard at least four things drop in the kitchen which sounded like a whole shelf of pots and pans. The food was ok but the atmosphere and service ruined the meal. We won't go there again.

Good, but not as good as I remember it being in years past. We have been to Don Pablo's about a dozen times over the years, and this was the only time I was not completely satisfied. It seemed as if the cheese amounts used on everything has been cut in half. Maybe the cheese itself has been changed also (cheaper) I don't know, but something was off. We miss the Tampa location dearly. Also the amount of rice on your plate is much smaller than it used to be. Any of the past visits would have probably yielded 5 stars.

Don Pablo's is good, no real problems. Yeah with a restaurant as large as it is there's bound to be a bad server on occasion. On most of my experiences, including tonight the server was excellent. The food is always good. I've had better but it's not bad by any stretch. With the prices as they are its absolutely acceptable. Monday through Friday there is a deal of the day of some sort. I like the 2-4-1 margaritas during happy hour as well. If its your birthday you get a sombrero to wear! Rock on.

I didn't think there was such a thing as a bad Mexican dinner...I was wrong. The food was awful. The beef and bean burrito was Taco Bell quality. I also got the blanco queso to put on top of the burrito and it had no flavor. The only reason I am giving this two stars is for the bar tender. He was trying his best to take orders in the bar area and make the drinks for all the servers. Some orders were taking over 45 minutes to come out and other orders were coming out wrong. The kitchen seemed to the struggling.

I decided to write this after eating the worst dinner ever. This place is not worthy the money. Service is awful and waiter could use some good training and a good manners class. I felt like running out the door with my children. Never felt so bad by eating out in my life. Rather go to any other option around the area which are endless.

Less than impressed with our visit this time. Usually tasty food and great service, this time slow service and bland food. Need to step it up if you want repeat business. Update to edit.... spoke with the manager, who was very nice. The server is new-ish, but trying to learn. Manager discounted our bill without us asking, so that is a plus.

I thought we where in trouble when the place was a ghost town at lunch and a server commented that "you have Jose oh you are in trouble" as we were being seated. I think she was trying to kid but this showed the utter lack of professionalism exhibited by the staff. I had the all you can eat fajita special for Monday. the fajitas after i got them where adequate it is just that it took nearly an hour to get the first plate. I would have ordered more but we simply did not want to wait forever to get it. Our server was missing often and slow when he did see us. Overall the poor service really detracted from what should have been a nice lunch. To serve us lunch to 2 people with hardly any others in the place took over an hour and a half.

I don't love this place I must admit. Its Tex Mex and not even the super good kind. We always end up here because my hubby likes it, but me? Not a fan. The rice and beans aren't worth it at all, I always end up leaving them, the enchilada was pretty generic, and the tacos are bland plus everything is slathered in cheese. Prices are pretty reasonable.

Like Kristi J. I remember Don Pablos being better than this. I remember the food being fresh and the chips and salsa being great! Tonight's food was mediocre. The dip was good, however the chips were cold. The waiter was disinterested in us. He took our order and we finally got our drinks after our appetizer was brought out. The chile relleno was good on the platter, Presidente, but the rest was bland. Black beans had very little flavor. The fresh tortillas were not even hot. They were fresh, but not hot. The top one was hard and dried out. For the price, I don't believe it's worth it. Come on Don Pablos, get it back to the way it used to be.

Nice place for Tex-Mex meals, especially the pick-2 or -3 combo special. I had higher expectations than I wanted before stepping in here but it didnt really meet it. The food was good and Im not discrediting that but I wished people didnt make this place to be such a big deal.

In the mood for Mexican food while looming around the attractions or International Drive? Well this checks the block, barely. The menu is robust and can easily accommodate a wide berth of tastes, which is about the only thing standing between one and two stars. The restaurant is decked out in typical neon lights and Mexican artifacts with a Southwestern tex-mex appeal to it. There are more than enough tables to handle small intimate gatherings to large groups. In fact, there were plenty of open tables (1/3 of the restaurant cleaned ,set, and ready!) when we arrived at 7:30pm with a party of six. Though, it was still 15 minutes before we were sat and there was a waiting list for around that time for tables of 3 or less. Perhaps they were short servers and couldn't fill out entire sections, but that sounds like a management problem. The servers were friendly but busy with some large groups as well so getting service was slow at times. After 30 minutes we placed our order and received our drinks. The food came out fairly quickly. The chips were stale and the salsa was so mild, I could barely taste it. The plates were hot, but my enchiladas were not so much. The meat for the fajitas was very dry and the chicken was so dry I could have probably used it for a sponge. The rice was luke warm and undercooked. However, these were the least of the problems. The biggest problem, the food is very bland! Who likes bland Mexican food? Even the "hottest" food failed to register. It should, however, be noted that anything short of a nuclear detonation in my mouth would not likely force a bead of sweat. You know you are in trouble with they don't even know what Habanero sauce is. I did spy a neighboring table working on an enormous mound of nachos, they did not hesitate so I would imagine it was edible. Overall, drive further or suffer the bland fate. If you are ok with a lack of kick, TV dinner tasting enchiladas, and meats suffering a drought then park it here. At prices superior to the food and service given, you can do better elsewhere.

Fresh salsa & chips at arrival, I ordered fish tacos. I added a side of guacamole. Food was great! Everything was pretty fresh, I'd eat here again. Pretty standard Mexican food. Ambiance okay.

I didn't even know they still existed. We had one near my college in TN, but it closed. You can imagine my excitement when I saw this one in Orlando and it was as wonderful as ever. They still have the best chips and salsa and their white queso was amazing. Everything is still around $12. We had the dip sampler and I thought I was going to pass out. We had enchiladas and the fiesta burrito. I wish I had one right now. The top of the cake was the perfect service we had. It was all truly a great experience.

My family was in town on vacation and decided to try something within walking distance to our hotel. The food was tasteless, chips were stale, chimichanga was soggy and service was slow. I will not eat there again.

Worst service ever , had to chase down the waiter at the kitchen door for a bill and even though I have my receipt showing my charges I got charged another 55 dollars on top of that. When I contacted the restaurant the next day I was told they had to have the corporate office issue the credit, It had been a week I have spoken to both the restaurant and the Texas office and have been told they cannot process my credit because the website is down that they have to process it through and don't know when it will be back up. This is unacceptable if the restaurant could not accept credit cards for payment they would be burning up the phone lines trying to get it fixed. I dont really understand how you have a signed credit card receipt for 33 dollars and then process the charge for 88.07 with not signature. And all the restaurant want to say is I am so sorry but there is nothing I can do.

I'll preface my comments by stating that I live in the heart of the central valley of California and good, authentic Mexican food isn't hard to find. On a recent trip to Orlando to visit DWorld, we had a hankering for some Mexican food. We got carryout from Don Pablo's and let me tell you, big mistake. We ordered bean and cheese burritos, taco salad with grilled chicken, cheese enchiladas, and steak fajitas. One word will describe the entire meal, BLAND. The food left a sense of "whatchu talking bout?" in my mouth. Thank goodness they put salt and pepper packets and a container of salsa in the bag to help choke this food down. Given the price point of the meal ($60 for the aformentioned entrees), I expected much better. Overall, if you like less than mediocre mexican food, you will enjoy this place.

I have to admit the only reason why I've ever gone here is because it was close to work and decent enough for everyone. But most of the food isn't up to par and everytime I think it will be better it's not. Its good for a quick appetizer such as queso dip and some margaritas but beyond that not much else.

I used to love going to Don Pablo's in Lafayette, IN with my college friends and when my family came to visit me in town. The food was amazing and the place was very clean. THIS Don Pablo's I didn't like very much. When I walked in the place had a funky smell that reminded me of throw up. The food was ok. It was the ambiance of THIS particular Don Pablo's that I didn't like. However, it won't stop me from visiting a different Don Pablo's.

Man, this place is a must stop for us every time we visit Orlando - the Margarita is an excellent social lubricant, especially after a long day enduring lines and mobs in the parks. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. It is good Tex Mex food, brings good con fort and leaves me satisfied. Super easy to park, convenient to get to and the service is also pretty good. Check it out folks !

This place was really gross and the service sucked. I ordered grilled chicken tacos.. I ate half of a taco. My rice was dry and my beans looked like wet dog food. The sauce on my taco tasted how I'd imagine an old lady would :/ disgusting. Definitely not impressed and will not come back. Girabaldi by Florida Mall is amazing and way better than this place. Now I know why I always eat there when I want Mexican.

yes, i still need my chips and salsa fix even when i'm vacationing! big restaurant, very friendly staff, the managers could loosen up a bit tho. they have awesome daily specials! too bad we only came on monday when they had the all you can eat fajitas for $10! the steak was very tender and accordingly to others in our party, "the best steak fajita ever". ummm...ya...ok. anyway, chips and salsa was plentiful although they couldnt have came faster. i almost went to the back to refill my basket. salsa is pretty good, although it had more of a tang to it. i shared a pitcher of margaritas with a friend for $15 and it was just enough for the two of us. not a bad place, close to hotels near the convention center.

This place is okay, I wanted to like it more because it is hard to find good Mexican food in Miami let alone anywhere in Florida, but it was just Meh. We started off with the chips and salsa which was good and fresh. We both ordered similar plates - Enchiladas - My came with two one with cheese and the other with chicken with a side of pinto beans and a hard taco with ground beef. My bf got pretty much the same thing but his came with another enchilada with beef and a soft taco with chicken. He wanted two hard tacos but they wouldn't substitute it, he wasn't asking to change the meat inside just from soft to hard, I thought that was a bit ridiculous but we didn't care and kept the order. The tacos were good but just okay nothing out of this world, just a fancier taco bell. The enchiladas were a bit small and the rice and pinto beans were pretty good. I don't think we would come here again, wish they would just really take authentic Mexican food and bring it into the restaurant. Ground beef is rarely or not at all served in Mexico. All in all, we were glad we at least tried it, but I wouldn't say we would try it again any time soon.

I remember Don Pablo's being better than this.... We have a Don Pablo's near us in Northern Virginia that's I've always enjoyed. I'm not sure why this particular resturant rubbed me the wrong way. The food was just "ok". Nothing stand out. I got Chicken Fajitas and they were just MEH. Kinda dry, kinda boring. I got them for lunch, so they didn't put very much chicken on the plate, whcih was kinda lame. It wasn't very busy the afternoon we went, maybe that's not unusual for a chain restaruant on I-Drive so close to all the amusement parks. But the food just didn't taste too fresh. Maybe it's better at dinner time.

We love DP! Parking is a breeze, chips are fantastic and the prices are great. We had the lunch special and I got the mama's skinny enchiladas. These are two chicken enchiladas with beans. Others got the fajitas for one (perfect portion) and cheese enchiladas. What is great about Don's is that there are veggie options and everything is customizable. Service was ok. The guy seemed not interested in being there. But the food was great!

Drinks were great. Service was insanely slow and the food was dried out. Will prob never go back. We were on our way home from universal and had a craving for mexican. Our waiter was just horrible. After waiting for 15 minutes for drinks, we got up and got them ourselves at the bar. It then took another 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive and at that point only one of them was fresh. It was clear that three of the entrees were stationed under the lamps for about 30 minutes. we would have been better off going to taco bell.

Had a great meal of fish tacos and various chip dips as an app. Also enjoyed the sangria. The restaurant had great specials on the menu. Good portions and good prices. Liked that it was within walking distance to the hotel. "Mrs. Robinson," our server offered great, attentive service as well.

I LOVE Mexican food. Don Pablo's didn't disappoint. Came here while vacationing in Florida. The service was quick, the restaurant was clean (+AC), the food was mouth-watering delicious! I got the Don's Sampler. This is a BIG platter folks, so share this order. I barely made a dent and had to take it all to-go. I definitely recommend getting a fajita platter. I never had it here and neither has anyone I know, but lots of ppl were getting fajita and it smelt delicious! The chips and salsa provided during dine-in was really good. Partly a reason why I barely made a dent in my food. Everything here was overall good.

I have to admit..I love the food here. My partner and I come here every Wednesday for fajitas ($8.99). Unfortunately, we sometimes get a server that's a little slow on the uptake but they to catch up quickly. :) Management is friendly and they seem to do well to accommodate me when I ask for no hot peppers on my Fajitas. (I think they are too strong) I don't drink so, I can't speak for the bar.

usually, i try not to gorge on carbs at the beginning of a meal, but the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa at don pablo's are the best part of the restaurant. they're made fresh in house and the light and crispy chips are served piping hot. the salsa was also good and had the perfect amount of heat. everything else about don pablo's is quite ordinary- just your average chain restaurant tex mex. i'd go back for margaritas and appetizers.

  • Lisa B.

Don Pablo's in on I-Drive, right smack dab in the middle of the tourist corridor. I've come here for years but not so much lately. I kind of get the impression that they know most of their customers are tourists so they don't feel like they have to excel in either the quality of the food or the service so they don't bother. Don Pablo's used to be so much better. The service has gotten very slow even when the restaurant is mostly empty. Food is ok but sometimes is barely hot like the server just forgot to pick it up. Chips and salsa are excellent. I still love the decor and the feel of the place. Prices are reasonable if you stick with the basic combos. This place is good for large groups. Just wish they would kick the service up a notch and be a little more consistent with the food and serve it HOT!

  • Steve C.

This place was a dump, stuff all over the floor looked like it wasnt cleaned all day the wait staff and bussers just walking over the napkins on the floor you could tell no one cared about this place, the one bright spot the food was good. But I dont think I will ever go back

First of all let me say I didn't have high expectations from previous reviews. But overall I was please with my visit. I ordered wine. (Only had 4 to chose from) but it was served in a dirty wine glass :/. Other than the place being kinda dirty and sticky. The food (the sampler) was pretty good and service wasn't all that bad either. Bottom line if you craving good Americanized Mexican food. It's worth the 20$ I spent.

  • Wendy H.

There were no issues with our order...the food was normal Tex Mex dining as you would find at any other Tex Mex restaurant. I would go again, the prices are amazing and the food temp was good. Nothing to die for but definitely a nice lunch or dinner.

  • Jeff M.

Had a quick lunch here this weekend. Taco salad (with chicken) was nothing to write home about.. Chicken (shredded, moist) was not flavorful; and the construction of the salad (with the ingredients in rows across the fried tortilla bowl (lighter than many I've had)) made it hard to get a mix of all the ingredients. Service was mostly good (except that the waitress said that she'd go make my salad right away, and it didn't show up for 10-15 minutes. OTOH, she did get me in and out in about 45 min., as I had requested.) I may try it again if I'm in the area; but more likely I'll try something else.

Typical, bland, Tex-Mex; acceptable service; terrible beer selection. Good news was that there was no wait, even when the rest of the restaurants on the street had 30+ minute wait times.

I loved it!!! I went there for lunch with a partner: I ordered steak fajita and he ordered steak burrito. Both dishes were absolutely amazing!!!! Meat was well cooked and juicy, chips were fresh and tortillas were made in front of us. What not to love? Stop complaining, people.

We went back to the Orlando location a few months ago and sad to say, it was not as good as previously there or the other locations. It may have been an off day or maybe this location has issues, but it was not nearly as good as every other time.

  • Kristy L.

I've been to Don Pablo's before and don't really love how they make their Mexican food. The first time I got the burrito and this time I got cheese and onion enchiladas. They were alright..I found them kind of bland. That's where adding a bunch of salsa comes in. One good thing is that they give you a basket of tortilla chips and salsa to eat before you get your food. There were also 2.99 margaritas and 1.99 beers. I really only went here because I wanted Mexican food and it was close to our hotel.

Ample parking, quick seating and service for an early dinner. Lots of options on the menu for us vegetarians (fajitas!), nice people. Decent prices. I'd go back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
