I first came to this local joint trying to kill some time. This turned out not to work at all as the service was incredibly fast. The staff was very polite and attentive and has continued to be on subsequent visits. Food always comes quickly, with perhaps a ten minute wait time as the longest I've encountered, and that was with a fairly large party. The food is delicious, My particular favorite being their sausage gravy on either biscuits or the fried potatoes. The prices are very low, six dollars will provide a solid meal (two or three plates of food) and smaller meals are also available. As other reviewers mentioned the area is rather austere, but not particularly unsettling. It's always been clean when I've visited and the locals who hang out there seem happy enough. All in all if you're looking for good, cheap and fast food it really can't be beat.

OK so we came here on a last minute whim. I said to the girlfriend, we can stay home and make some eggs, go out and find some place new, or Cracker Barrel, Denny's or Wafflehouse... She hopped on yelp and found this place... of course I've probably passed it 100's of times, I drive that route incredibly frequently. So here's the deal.... You walk in and this place is bright and airy and just feel's like its bustling with energy... I like it! There's a bar/counter to the left that you can sit and eat at or make your way to the dining room where there's a myriad of 2 tops, 4 tops, 6 tops, and even high tops to sit at, and there's a few tables outside in the front as well. We got there in the middle of an onslaught of people, but that didn't stop the servers from greeting us and telling us they'd be right back. It took them a few minutes to come back, but we didn't mind, they said hello and it was clearly busy as people lined up at the door after us! (we got there just in time). Now get ready for some good home cookin'!!!! The girlfriend ordered the country omelet which looked really good, and I didn't get to taste any, so it must have been ok. She ordered the hash browns well done and they came out perfect. Oh by the way, hash browns aren't on the menu, but they have them if you ask. We were also pleasantly surprised that they had Gluten Free toast!! Big win in her book! I ordered corned beef hash well done and two eggs over easy. The hash was clearly canned, but they knew how to cook it though... it came out perfectly well done and my eggs could not have been cooked more perfectly. I really feel that cooking eggs properly is one of the most difficult things to do, so if you get it right, then you must know what you are doing. I ordered grits to go with mine and asked them to make them cheese grits and they were just delish... Clearly real cheese was used here and it was yummy. Finally, I had to order a side of the sausage gravy and it was super tasty. Oh yeah before I forget, they included a biscuit and by the recommendation of the server I chose to have the sweet potato biscuit! Yes I said sweet potato and it was fantastic. It's was sweet but not too sweet and had a cake like texture to it. Very good but I dont think it would have been good with gravy on it... luckily I was spooning the gravy directly from the bowl to my mouth. Service was slow, but we were OK with it, they were clearly busy. Servers were all incredibly friendly tag teaming each others tables making sure coffee was topped off and food was being run when ready. Food is really good. We really enjoyed this place for breakfast and we'll have to try it for other meals sometime soon.

Great lunch spot, in and out with no trouble. We were here on training for work and it was a nice lil break for us

Great food and service. Large menu, I haven't had anything yet I didn't like. Small dinner feel, free wi-fi and good service.

I love finding non-chain restaurants and this is one! I have been to Dixie Belle's with friends and my family. Each time the service was ultra friendly, prompt and the food was delicious. I have only been for breakfast and I order something different every time. This is out of the way for me but so worth it.

Well, I work in the area and have always wanted to try this place. Unfortunately I did. We stopped for breakfast and wish I had chosen Denny's which was nearby. First off, we saw there were specials when we walked in, but didn't remember all of them. When the waitress came to take our order, we asked about the specials. She seemed annoyed at the question then went up front to look at the board. Seriously? She didn't know the specials! Then, she was walking up to our table telling us the specials instead of waiting unttil she got to our table, so we still didn't know what they were because we couldn't hear her. Needless to say we decided to order off the menu. I ordered eggs benedict, which was not a wise choice for down home cooking. The english muffin was like cardboard and the eggs were not poached. When I cut into the egg, the yollk it was all hard. The ham served with it was way too salty. My husband ordered their "famous" biscuits and gravy. He said the biscuits were not light or fluffy and the order was way too heavy on the sausage. With his breakfast he got sausage patties that were bland, but he actually liked the bacon. His over easy eggs were way over cooked. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. But, as we were leaving, there was a steady stream of customers who all seemed to know each other. So, must be a neighborhood preferred restaurant. We won't be back.

I just came back from here, they make the best hangover recovery breakfasts. The servers are too darn sweet just like their wake your @$$ up coffee. They seem to be experienced with morning grumps and have a smile on their face regardless. I just ordered food half asleep and the server understood my language, thats amazing. Price range is about $5.99 to $9.99 and you get a decent amount of breakfast that will make your day lovely. A plate of eggs, home fries, and grits can really get your day up and running. Ditch your normal breakfast place and come here instead. You will save a trip into the local fast food joint to yell at drive thru microfone. I mark this place a hangover friendly zone that will satisfy a morning empty stomach that needs a fillin'.

Not a bad item on the menu! Best breakfast in town! They have great lunch specials too. Highly recommend it.

I'm only giving Dixie Belle 3 stars because the service is hit-or-miss. We have always enjoyed the food, but sometimes the service is wonderful & others it is a complete & utter miss!! We went this morning.... there were 6 tables available so we got seated immediately. Our drink order was taken & delivered immediately. We perused our menus & then our orders were promptly taken. He had ordered a combination platter, plus a 1/2 order of their delicious biscuits & gravy. BTW...... DELICIOUS as always!! A young lady brought just the biscuit & gravy, & questioned if we ordered more. We assured her we did & she said she would check & probably it would be out shortly. You would think this would be a sign of good things to come..... Not so much. Other tables had come in after us & had their orders taken after ours. We waited & waited & waited.... he finished ALL of the 1/2 order of biscuits & gravy (which was quite sizable). Our waitress came over & asked if we wanted more coffee. I said, "Yes, & we would like our meals too". I said we had noticed others who had come in after us had already received their meals & were either half or nearly done with theirs. She checked her pad & said we had only ordered 20 minutes ago & it should be out soon. She hot-footed it to the back & came back stating it would be out soon. When our food came out it was REALLY HOT....... kinda like she had gone back there & found out our ticket had likely gotten misplaced so they quickly made it. My eggs were ordered over-medium but came out soft with slightly runny whites & runny yolk, but they were warm. I could only eat a smidge of the whites & yolks because of the uncooked white around the yolk tastes horrible. A line cook should know how to cook an Over Medium Egg..... I didn't ask for Sunny Side Up....... For Over Medium you crack an egg & let it cook in a little fat for 3-4 min. then you FLIP IT & cook for 30-60 seconds more making sure the yolk is still runny. It's called OVER MEDIUM for a reason...... You are supposed FLIP IT OVER ! When a customer presents you with a question about why their meal is taking so long a manager should be notified & should come to the table. We saw the manager/owner hanging around other tables, so it would have been nice to have been visited at our table. It's just bad service like this that makes us go to other restaurants. We will try to give you another try but it's not gonna be for awhile unfortunately.

Love this place. Exactly what you want out of a small cafe atmosphere wise and above normal food wise. Really good options.

We visited this place last month during our stay in Orlando. Amazing country fried steak, fried catfish, biscuits and gravy, and banana nut pancakes!!! The catfish tasted Soo fresh and flavorful , not greasy at all. The banana nut pancakes were filled with a good amount of pecans and bananas that I didn't even need to use syrup. The hashbrowns and eggs were cooked perfectly. This place deserves 5 stars!! The server was very attentive and kept checking up on us. Even the Orange juice came in a frosted mug. A very nice touch! Not sure why 1 reviewer said this place was closing. From what we saw, there were plenty of customers. Will definitely be back again in a few days for their fried catfish. Maybe we will try the waffle and chicken next time.

Great ambiance. Great food. Great service. I found Dixie Belle's Cafe on Yelp while searching for a great place where we can have my birthday breakfast and our first breakfast in Orlando. Good call, Yelpers, as Dixie Belle's did not disappoint. The ambiance is that of a country diner, with the quilts, wagon wheels, and old-fashioned toys, and the Southern hospitality we received from the waitresses. It was a perfect way to drive home the fact that we were no longer in California and that we were truly on vacation. We ordered the country platter, French toast, and a side of the country ham. The country platter came with biscuits topped with sausage gravy, bacon, sausage patties, and eggs. It was very generous and was sooo delicious! Unhealthy, but calories don't exist on birthdays (true story!) so happily indulge I did. This breakfast also marks the first time I have tried country ham and it was salty goodness (I wish we had good country ham around me here in California). The daughter liked her French toast, but I never was able to try it so I can say nothing about it. The service was fantastic! The waitresses were very warm and gave us the famous Southern hospitality. When they found out it was my birthday, they were extra nice and tried to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. They even brought out a sweet potato biscuit with a candle without us asking! That truly got my birthday off to a great start. (The sweet potato biscuit was soft, moist, and just so delicious!) If ever I were back in town, I would definitely go back to Dixie Belle's. Thank you for the amazing birthday breakfast!

After leaving another local breakfast place for lack of service (actually no service) we made our way here. I guess things happen for a reason. I was raised in the south and appreciate good sausage gravy. This place has the BEST I have tasted in years. I can't clog the arteries every week but I will venture in occasionally to satisfy my gravy needs. The rest of our breakfasts were great too. And the service was spot on. No empty cups and waitresses checking to make sure we were ok. Well done Dixie!!!

I am from New Jersey, so catfish and eggs is not something I see regularly. I was pleasantly surprised at the perfectly fried catfish, excellent hash browns, and great friendly service. A must stop if you arrive early at MCO. Keep up the great work ladies!

Great little southern style greasy food diner. Excellent servers. Good, inexpensive grub. NOT for dieters... lots of variety. Stop in.

I don't know if Yee-Haw is the right word for this country inspired, deco diner tucked off of Orange...everything from the outside, name included, makes me think of a large chain that I refuse to patronize for a variety of reasons, however looking at the menu confuses me slightly. It has a much more international flair than I would expect from anyplace with the word "Dixie" in the name. I mean, I wasn't expecting the special of the day to be Schnitzel or the soup of the day to be "German Onion." First impressions aside, man was it good! Hearty and obviously home cooked, nothing brought to our table could be mistaken for being out of a box (and to our waitresses credit, she warned us about what would be). The Schnitzel (ya, I really wanted german that day so it worked) was amazing! I loved every bite of the juicy and lightly breaded pork that reminded me of how my mother use to make it! (Although I was not pleased with the $2 price for a small side of dipping applesauce). My Mom's chicken salad was chunky with crisp veggies and refreshingly cool. I would order it again in a heartbeat. We topped our meal with their highlighted sweet potato biscuits. I'm not 100% sure what all of the hype is about, but they were certainly good an unique. Maybe my expectations were set too high or I didn't know what to expect...it's not that I wouldn't eat one again, I just don't know that your life would be incomplete without one. Overall, I would say if you're in the area and can't decide what to have, definitely give the place a shot! It is certainly better than, and competitively priced against the chains in the area. (I'm totally going back to try 99 cent breakfast!)

If you only read one thing in my review read this: GET SOMETHING WITH THE SAUSAGE GRAVY. I am very picky about sausage gravy and Dixie Belles made me want to never eat any other restaurants gravy ever again. I got biscuits and gravy that came with 2 eggs and 4 slices of bacon. The bacon was delicious as well. You can tell much of the food here is cooked on the same surface and it is all homemade. The prices are very reasonable and the decor is somewhat western but mainly just hometown. I liked that it was somewhat off the beaten path from theme park/tourist Orlando. The only thing that made this place 4 instead of 5 stars for me is that our orders took an extremely long time to come out. The servers came back and refilled my coffee and we're very friendly but they never gave a status update on our meals. We also noticed people that were seated well after us receive their meals before us. The food is phenomenal but the service left a bit to be desired.

No, I'm not a breakfast connoisseur, but I do love me some breakfast and this is The Best I've had in a long, long time. Country Fried Steak was amazing, and there's something special about their butter, that covers everything. Definitely worth a trip. I definitely see becoming a regular here!

This place was an awesome find while on vacation in the area! It is a casual, local spot for a great breakfast/brunch. The sweet potato biscuits are to DIE FOR! So incredibly good! Make sure you try them. The ladies who work there were also very nice and the service was quick and friendly.

I love breakfast and Dixie Belle's is one of the best! The food is excellent (especially the sweet potatoes biscuits) and the staff are always friendly. The place feels very welcoming and relaxed. I have yet to try it for lunch, but I'm sure that's great too. The fried catfish is awesome. If you like breakfast, this place is definitely worth a visit

Not a good thing when you are starving in Orlando and are just coming from the airport. Where is there to eat? We found Dixie Belle's on Yelp (natch, of course). Driving from the airport, it didn't say it was too far, and the prospect of a sweet potato biscuit fueled our quest to find DBC. We drove past it twice. It's not easy to find on the stretch of road it's on (maybe need better signage?) Easily found parking, and were seated immediately. It took a while for our server to come and greet us, but that's okay. The menu has a ton of choices and I settled on the blueberry pancake (note singular) and the sweet potato biscuit. My friend had scrambled eggs, bacon and the biscuit as well. We both had waters to start, adding in sweet tea later (when in the South...). The blueberry pancake was AWESOME! I love buttermilk pancakes and the blueberries were very plump. But the ultimate was the sweet potato biscuit. It is worth getting before they run out for the day. It lives up to its name for sure! Definitely have the honey butter it comes with. Our server was really good and she gave us refills on our drinks in to-go cups. Great touch!

So good we went back the next morning to do it all over again!! The bacon was crispy and yummy! OJ was fresh. Had a meat lovers omelette and it was packed with bacon, ham and sausage.

My husband and I passed by this café a couple of weeks ago and we finally had the chance to try it. First off, it's very nice inside - pleasantly surprised. Very Clean, comfy and cozy as well. The staff were exceptional, as was the food!! I'm an EXTREMELY fussy person, when ordering eggs. I don't like them runny at ALL but not scrambled either. I like them cooked well with the yolk broken and mixed with the whites and that's EXACTLY WHAT I GOT!! YEAH!! The home fries were delish, bacon was very tasty and the HOMEMADE biscuit was 2 DIE 4 !! My husband had a similar meal and it was prepared perfectly and he likes his eggs prepared in a totally different way than I. My husband had banana nut pancakes, I believe? Nuts in the pancakes AND on top too!! However, be aware that they're sugar coated nuts, not plain, which gave the pancakes a nice taste. I don't have to watch my sugar but if you do, just something to think about :) The staff of ladies were sweet as pie and very accommodating. They definitely have the southern customer service that is outstanding and much appreciated as well~ Parking was ample and easy. Prices were very reasonable too. No more IHOP for us LOL Our waitress was very accommodating in substituting an item from my husbands meal, she even made a suggestion that worked out perfectly!! Can't wait to take some FRIENDS, RELATIVES and our KIDS with us - I know they'll love it!! BTW, love the ice water with fresh lemon - nice touch :) LUV LUV LUV!!

It's a quaint cafe with very good food and local flair. Their new addition of chicken n waffle was a write-in on the menu so naturally we had to try it. It was a nice change up because the chicken was a boneless breast, pounded flat, battered and fried to perfection. The batter was on point! Waffle on point! The waitress suggested any dish with the sausage gravy, (I'm not a fan of sausage) but she was right the gravy was delicious.. a tad on the salty side. My veggie omelet was cooked well no runny eggs here. Plus they offer egg whites and egg beater options. We met the owner on the way out, nice gentleman. He came over to check on us. We had a friendly conversation and I told him we found his establishment on Yelp. He found that interesting and said he hadn't checked it in a year:). But regardless we had no disappointments and the waitresses were real friendly. I'd return. Support local mom and pops restaurants and avoid the chain breakfast spots.

Great food and smiling faces on servers. Wish I had not chickened out - should have gone with the grilled catfish and eggs. Hubs loved the homemade biscuits with sausage gravy.

If they are open you should go there right now. If you like big corporate chain restaurants and insincere service and random food quality then never mind, immediately turn back around. This is real food served by real people. Applewood Bacon, Sausage Gravy, Eggs, Country Biscuits that are shut the front door delicious! Country Fried Steak piled with gravy, will make you call in sick to your job so you can go back home, snore and dream. If you like to be called to breakfast by your GrandMa, this is your place. Best breakfast place in Orlando unless your prefer smoked salmon and a tub of "scrambled" eggs at the Ritz Carlton. I've done both. Guess which one I like most? This one.

Finding a restaurant in Orlando that is not a chain and that has good food at reasonable prices is finding a gem. This unpretentious, very casual and friendly place is a diamond. It was very crowded on a Sunday mid-morning, so there was a 10 minute wait. The menu is interesting and has a few combos that are unique. The sweet potato biscuit is interesting and almost too sweet. The biscuit and sausage gravy is delicious and came with bacon and sausage. French toast was double thick and just right. Coffee was poured continually and was full bodied and flavorful. Staff was friendly, personable and helpful. The only negative was the wait for our food. It took a little longer than we think it should have, or maybe we were just that hungry and jealous when trays went to other tables and smelled so good. OK, give it another half star. Could be my go to place for breakfast.

  • Heather K.

Had to try the sweet potato biscuits just from reading the other reviews and I'm pleased to say they did not disappoint! They were so moist and perfectly spiced so you could still taste the sweet potato. Place seems like it is a locals spot. We got there 5 mins after they opened and there were already 6 tables with patrons. Servers were very friendly and our omelettes were very good.

Breakfast served all the time! I ordered eggs over medium, they were served over easy. The Country fried Steak was excellent! They have Tater Tots! The server continued to check back to see if I needed anything!

Horrible service. Horrible wait times. It's taken one hour to get eggs and French toast. Unbelievable. I will take my business to Leo's or Carol's.

We found this place through Yelp. And we passed by it while trying to find it. it is not located right next to the road and doesn't look like much. BUT as always, don't judge the book by it's cover! It is free seating. Decent enough breakfast. We had to wait for our order and we weren't the only ones, and reading the reviews this seems to be their problem. I would definitely go here again though :)

Hit and miss. Anything homemade, order it. Anything else, pass. I had a turkey dinner special including one side, I ordered corn. When I received my meal, I had two slices of warmed deli turkey, corn bread stuffing (dry), gravy and corn. I asked where the mashed potatoes were and the server said that I chose corn as my side. I said the sign said a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, since when does a turkey dinner not have mashed potatoes? I was charged $2.50 for a small dish of mashed potatoes. My guest ordered then stuffed pepper and it was delicious. This is the reason why a 3 star rating. So ask if the meal is homemade I house for the best food!

We were on our honeymoon and decided to try something local. The gravy biscuit was delicious but the pancakes were really average and got soggy with syrup on them. The coffee was good! It's priced right... Would prob go back just would get something else.

Clean, good service , and good food. I think that's all one can ask when wanting to eat a nice breakfast or lunch. IHOP, Denny's have the name which means the price is higher as well. Try this, you'll like it!

Service was decent and fairly quick. Waited maybe 15 minutes for food. Sausage gravy was amazing. Best in Orlando easy. Biscuits were flaky. Eggs were fluffy. Small and homey. Can't complain about really anything in this place, outside that the booths tables felt unusually low. But being a tall guy, could be just me. Great bang for your buck. I'll be back soon.

Best breakfast I've had in a long time. I got scrambled eggs, home fries, rye toast, and a coffee, and every one of those things was outstanding on it's own. I can't believe I only just now found this place. Definitely a hidden gem in Orlando.

Fabulous local breakast place! Service was friendly and fast. Food was hot, good sized portions and well prepared. I had a traditional country breakfast with sausage, biscuits with sausage gravy, applewood bacon and scrambled eggs. My wife had a breakfast sandwich that had two eggs, ham and cheese. She ordered the eggs medium soft and they came out just as ordered. Our coffee cups were kept full with fresh hot coffee. I would highly recommend Belles as a place to stop at if in the area.

Wow, Amazing how reviews for the same place can sway so far from each other in this arena of electron media. My lunch target was again - another place that Tom B has not rated. Resounding success again. yea. Tom B, you da manpro. I'll have to sway on the low side of happy with todays lunch time in mind. Though I'm intrigued by the thought that someone thinks Jesus might order a fowl sandwich there, that has not helped sweeten my memory of this noons' experience. PLEASE don't count on, or even begin to use that probably, or hope, as a reason to make haste to 7125 S Orange Ave. This diner is more certain to plate up a heap of mediocre with the fired okra and possibly end in a royal flush. Now the staff- come on WG, how did you put it? "Reality check"?? These girls are friendly, hard working and well attended to my needs fine. The people were great. (I had two checking on me while there). Didn't see any of those bad vodoo tats during my stay either. My meatloaf (yes, that was why I chose a diner in the first place) was on first eye ballin' not very purdy looking. The 2 slabs @ 3/4"x 1.25" x 4" was mostly covered in Dixie's best packeted brown stuff / sauce. This sauce taste rebounded me into memories of the flavors from the 70's cuisine - during my most hippie days. This simply was an uninspiring meal. (so not winning ROTD with this one is really not my fault - it the foods' !) The gray meat color really made me pause a moment and ponder; Can I really take this? Doesn't my meat loaf look kinda grey when I cut into it? I'm now better understanding why the Jesus reference in the Nate B review. Would making his acquaintance be a real possibility if I close my eyes and just dig in? Probably not. I chicken out anyway from that consummation and give the shallow bowl of collards a gusto fork load right into the shooter. Humm not bad really. As a diner's should be. Okay- not A-OK, but on first taste, we're off in the right direction thank goodness. Few more fork-overs, and I start to size up the other shallow bowl in my area of reach... those black eyed peas. Emmmm. I dare to liberate them out of the shallow bowl next to that virgin meatloaf. Of which I'm still wary of my preconceived negative perception. I go for the Black Eye P's. Damn! A tad undercooked. Like I had purchased Peet's $3.00 Boiled Peanuts a little too early in the morning. Should always buy yo' boiled nuts late in the day so you know them things is truly cooked in & out is how I was tutored. Pea seasonings are -- - mediocre - but hell, it black eyed peas -and without buttered cornbread too! (my fault on that dietary deficit) . I'll move on... the minds eye grows weary of my chit. Time of truth and or dare!- eat the freaking meatloaf already! Well did I mention uninspiring? Well there it is. Really no big deal for $7.98. Hot- yep, no doubt this entree was served hot. Scalding may describe it best. I go through about 1/2 the serving and well I'm done. You might be too. Calories are for enjoying - not for collecting! Can't say I could justify a 2nd go on this one- and unlike the mexican fare the other day that Tom B has not rated yet - no enticing pastries in your face to challenge your diet restrictions. Clean getaway. BTW, Left a nice tip for Swiped 1 cause she deserved it.

Favorite thing is there corned beef hash. Its the best I've ever had. Blueberry pancakes are the size of a dinner plate, so start with one. Lunch is great too. Hearty salads and delicious sweet potato biscuits. This is a must have for a lazy Sat or Sun morning treat! Go HERE!

The best place for breakfast. I ate there on our trip to Disney World. I had some of the best biscuits and gravy ever. The waitresses were excellent. The first time I have gotten an omelet done just right. Not soggy or too crisp. I would say that if you are within an hour drive of this place, GO. It's worth it. My wife said that the banana nut pancakes were very good.

Go here, but just not when I'm there every Saturday for my fix! Very HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY to now have a great breakfast place that is reasonably priced in Orlando with great service and delicious food. First off, my husband's first and last choice here....their fried catfish or basa (depending on what they have) with either grits or eggs! It is seriously delicious and easily great. Their breading of the fish is spot on (corn flakes baby) and the portion is more than respectable. The other get-there-early-enough-before-they-run-out item is the sweet potato biscuit....hot and heavenly! Afterall, now that I think about it, it's no better than an egg mcmuffin or french toastix.....go to McD's or BK instead....we don't want any competition getting in.

Great little place with lots of choices. I've been here 3 times and have yet to pay for my meal because I was in my Military Uniform. I admit I do enjoy when someone picks up the bill but even more so it tells why kind of place this is and the customers that frequent here. Super friendly service is what I have gotten every time. I've had the fried chicken and the cheese steak and both were very good. This is home cooking so nothing spicy or fancy, but sometimes that's just what your looking for. The cookies are great so grab one on your way out and eat it later because you'll be stuffed when you leave.

Great prices, great food, very popular with a local looking crowd on Saturday morning when we went; also a few tourists. I enjoyed the sausage gravy and biscuits.

Great spot for breakfast! Nothing trying to re-invent the wheel, good southern cooking. The bacon was really sweet, I had the meat lovers omelette and it was great. Awesome pancakes, definitely a local hero! Next time I'll try the blueberry pancakes, yum!

My boyfriend and I were interested in checking out a new place for Sunday brunch. We're huge fans of kitschy little diners and thought we would give this place a try after reading some decent reviews. We walked in about 11am on a Sunday and were told to seat ourselves. After sitting down and looking over the menu, we were asked to move to a different table so they could sit a party of 5. This party of 5 ended up being a party of 2. We placed our drink order with one waitress. She ended up bringing us 2 coffees and 1 water. We asked for 2 waters and 1 coffee. There was no creamer and no silverware on the table. A different waitress took our food order and still no silverware and no refills for our drinks yet. I was pretty annoyed at this time considering the place wasn't that busy. It took awhile for our food to come out and when it did, a third waitress was serving us. My boyfriend had to ask for dressing for his salad and we had to ask for silverware. We asked for refills and after several visits to our table we finally got them. The food was bland, my country fried steak was very salty though. My second cup of coffee was watered down and everything else was sub par. We left feeling very disappointed and will not be returning to this diner.

Decent place. I was extremely surprised to learn that they close at 2 p.m. when we arrived at 1:30. I was disappointed that they only have pot pie on Thursday and they were all out although my visit was a Thursday. I had the Philly cheesesteak with fries and a side of mashed potatos. The Philly was average, the fries weren't fresh and the mashed potatoes were cold. The waitress explained that they got cold because they were the first to be put in the plate. They weren't warm, they were cold. I explained that the warmer was probably turned off early because it was so close to closing. She didn't object at all when I asked that mashed potatos be removed from our bill. Not a bad place, but there are much better around.

Always a great breakfast and a very friendly staff. They can get very busy, so the earlier the better. But if you have to wait, it will probably be worth it. Also, love the long booths that can seat 8.

Sweet potato biscuits are so good!! Dixie's was welcoming and the food was delicious. The half order of sausage gravy and biscuit was more than enough and was excellent.

Dixie Belle's is big, bright, clean and loud, with quilts, roosters and wagon wheels adorning the walls. It was also doing brisk business when my Saturday-morning-breakfast-club gathered there. The waitresses are out of Old-Fashioned-Diner Central Casting, with a little bit of sass, a smile, and a pot of coffee in one hand. The kitchen got everything right for our group of eight, and the food was solid diner fare. One of the specialties is biscuits and gravy. None in our group tried it, but one person did have country ham (the salty stuff) and enjoyed it. Dixie Belle's has a big menu for breakfast or for lunch. I don't like fried fish, but I'll make an exception for fried catfish, which they feature. I don't know if will be up to par with Apopka's Catfish Place, but I plan to give it a try. Places like this are so much more enjoyable to me than the impersonal corporate-run restaurants like Peach Valley or KeKe's.

Any place that serves breakfast all day is already a winner. Great sweet potatoe biscuits and down south traditional fare--just like grandma used to make! Prices are more than reasonable, we fed four for just over $20. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby.

BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN! The sweet potato biscuit is a must try as well as their regular biscuits. However what we went back for was the amazing customer service! You felt right at home and very welcomed as soon as you entered the door. We returned for two consecutive days and felt like locals showing up again. The waitress recognized us and greeted us again with the same heart warming attitude that brought us back that next day. This is a MUST try for anyone looking for a good, cheap breakfast!!!!!

What a great place! We came on a Monday morning....no wait, fresh coffee and great food. I had the corned beef hash, 2 eggs, hashbrowns and the sweet potato biscuit. The eggs were cooked perfect, the hash crispy as requested and the hashbrowns awesome. Everything lacks a bit of seasoning for me, but hot sauce, salt and pepper are on the table. Price = $7 We will have to return to try more items on the menu.

What's not to like? Parking lot seems amazingly busy, yet there weren't that many people in the restaurant. Hmmm... Waitress and Hostess were great. Down Home Southern kinda place. It feels a bit too big, to be honest. Maybe beause of the high ceiling. Tables, chairs, all cafe style functional. You're not going here for decor. So, why go here? Food's inexpensive, it's really tasty, you get your meal fast, the place is clean, it reminds you of Nellie Belles a little, but you can't put your finger on why (it's the menu- same great collection of american favorites...and, it's just up the street.). You know, if you're an international tourist, and want to get away from the tourist traps for a minute, and sample real, down home southern style comfort-food type cooking at a great price, you can't beat this. What is it lacking? Well, it seems like it could use "parking for restaurant only" signs. That and outdoor tables would be really nice.... UPDATE. They've added outdoor tables. The staff is SO friendly, the food so good! They get another star. Congratulations, guys!

This is my second visit - hoping to finally find a place that has both good pancakes and country style sausage gravy and biscuits. The first time the sausage gravy had too much sausage in it. I nicely mentioned it to the waitress during this visit but before I could ask the waitress if maybe it was out of the norm, she said she's never had it and it's going to be the same as before. Ordered pancakes and bacon. Great pancakes but the bacon tasted like it was cooked in burnt grease. Back the Barrel.

Came here on a whim, this place is clean and full of country charm. Typical diner type food. Ordered breakfast, my only complaint is that it seemed to take forever for our food to come out. There wasn't a crowd when I was in there, maybe they were down a cook. Or maybe I was wicked hungry and just couldn't wait! Wouldn't keep me from going back though. I just had a typical breakfast, eggs, bacon etc. Can't really go wrong there! Next time I'll try the pancakes. The service was great, my coffee cup was never empty! I might have had the caffeine jitters on they way out. lol! I'd definitely go back. I like a good breakfast place that won't break my budget.

Wonderful place. My Country omelette made with Eggbeaters was excellent and you really shouldn't leave without a sweet potato muffin. And the orange juice in a chilled mug was a nice touch. I highly recommend this as a great place to eat for under $10.

Love... true love. Bright, clean, friendly and tasty... what more could you ask for in a cafe? Oh wait, gluten free toast, AND an informed waitress, who knew enough to inform me that the bread was run through the regular toaster! I had a tasty omelet with sausage, onions, peppers and cheddar cheese with hash browns on the side, cooked crispy as ordered. Coffee is a darker roast than I typically like, but not bitter. Major points for using a coffee roasted locally. I got to sample some of the boyfriend's cheese grits and they were cheesy and creamy. Made me wish I had a little bowl of my own. :( Can't wait until breakfast time again! Note: the gluten free bread (looked & tasted like Udi's) is not listed on the menu. But available for the asking!

My judgement is clouded. I am from Oklahoma and I have been looking for a place that serves a decent Biscuit and Gravy since moving to Florida 9 years ago. 9 years of searching. The search has ended. This isnt a decent Biscuit and Gravy. This is an amazing Biscuit and beautiful Sausage Gravy. Honestly, I didn't have anything else. Not even a drink. This rating is based purely on my full out love for that B&G.

Cheap and hearty southern style breakfast and lunch! This place is definitely no-frills but provides simple but great food at an average of around $5 per plate. Their blueberry pancakes are to die for.. HOT, fluffy, and filled with fat, fresh blueberries. They're only open for breakfast and lunch and it can get busy! It's worth the wait if there is one.

I love a good breakfast place. Now I'm lucky to know of two solid inexpensive options within easy driving distance for South Orlando folks. I visited on a Saturday morning for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere was pleasant and down-home country; the food was hearty and delicious. I had the Dixie Deuce -- 2 eggs, 2 buttermilk pancakes, and 2 slices of bacon -- and a sweet potato biscuit. So glad I listened to the Yelp reviews on that one... if sweet potato biscuits are on the menu when you visit, don't hesitate! They are worth the hype. All in all, the only downer to my experience at Dixie Belle was the wait for the food, which was pretty long... but the place was really busy, so I guess that's to be expected from time to time. I'll definitely go back (especially for more sweet potato biscuits) anyway.

The best part of my morning was the biscuit I had at Dixie's. Unlike most biscuits I've had in my long 27 years on Earth, this was did not feel stale and hard nor did it crumble into pieces as I was eating. It was heavenly soft and so delicious that I simply ate it with a slab of butter on it. I gave the Farmer's Blue Plate a shot which was home fries covered with either sausage gravy or cheese and eggs cooked to your liking, with a side of sausage or applewood smoked bacon. I went with the bacon after seeing plenty of good reviews for it but I must say I've had better. The eggs and fries were cooked well with nothing to really point out. I went with the sausage gravy which was something like I've never had before. It was creamy, but not too thick and had a nice spice to it. Though it wasn't what I expected I was not disappointed with my choice. The service was friendly and the food brought out fast, which always brings up an alarm of fresh food, but it tasted fresh to me. Cheers.

Truly a place you must visit if you're a local or even if you're from out of town looking for a homey, delicious and affordable place to eat. The service staff took amazing care of our family as we enjoyed a great breakfast which included their famous biscuits and gravy, meat lover's omelet and chocolate chip pancakes. Find it next to a car wash and enjoy their big portions at affordable prices.

Atmosphere was excellent, our waitress was friendly and upbeat, and the food was great!!! I asked for home fries and got hash browns but it was an honest mistake that the waitress asked to correct but I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty hash browns we will be back here on our next vacation!

So I pretty much just came here to try the biscuits and gravy and they were amazing! The full serving is more than generous too. I also tried some of the Shepherds Pie and that was good too. The service was great and the food definitely tasted like home cooking. The prices are really reasonable, and I will definitely be coming back here. Came with a friend and they thought everything was great as well. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get a home cooked meal without actually being at home.

A really homey and welcoming place to have breakfast. In my family, a great breakfast joint is a necessity. I am all for Peach Valley or First Watch, but what I was really missing was a place that has that family owned, diner feel to it, like where I grew up in Western NY. We'll this place nailed it! I mean our waitress' name was Cindy Lou! She was warm, outgoing, and attentive (without being intrusive). Home fries were REAL home fries...hand-cut, eggs cooked perfect, and my hubby loved his omelet. My 6y/o had pancakes and they were good too! I'm not a country gravy kind of girl but their gravy was a little bit of heaven! Oh and hubby says the bathrooms were CLEAN...score! All in all, we will definitely be back!

Trish was our server, she was friendly and efficient!! The food was FRESH, and served fast! Our son has special needs she was respectful and kind. The prices is what surprised us most... It's nothing for us to spend around $80 on breakfast , yet here we have EVER options of food to feed 3 of us for under $35!!!! If, we fly into Orlando again , I will certainly return!!! Great experience

Leaving an outpatient appointment at Nemour Childrens Hospital we began looking for nearby restaurants that had great ratings ( today 61 reviews with 4 1/2 stars). We wanted to try the sweet potato biscuits but it was lunch time and we were craving a burger or salad. Breakfast is served all day and next time we intend on trying the biscuits and gravy. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and fries while I stuck with my favorite a veggie platter & cornbread. While waiting we looked around -- seems to filled to the brim with locals who return day after day and super friendly servers. They offer breakfast, lunch and daily specials. Don't forget Burrito Fridays! There are tables outside that would be perfect in cooler weather where you can bring Fido to enjoy the good food and friendly atmosphere too. Food came to table quickly. My daughter demanded that I try the burger -- it was so moist -- fries were perfect. I chose four veggies (black eyed peas, collards, fried okra, and mashed potatoes/gravy) & cornbread. My meal was very good but have one suggestion -- add more seasoning to black eyed peas and less salt to collards. Last but not least daughter chose homemade blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream. Slap yourself good! Dixie Belle's Cafe is a hidden treasure that is too good not to visit if you are in the Orlando area. Guarantee we will be back.

Three words: sweet potato biscuits. Enough said! If you need more, then I'll keep going. Dixie Belle's is one of those places where the servers have been there forever, and the patrons are all regulars. And when you walk in, they make you feel so welcome you would like to become a regular. Their menu offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. Breakfast is my favorite meal, so I have never ventured off to the lunch side. My order usually consists of a sweet potato biscuit, coffee, a western omelet and potatoes. Or, if I am feeling "dangerous" aka I completed my morning run, I'll order the Country Platter (amazing biscuits and gravy!), or the Dixie Deuce, which comes with pancakes. Either way, if they have the sweet potato biscuit, it is added to my order. It's that good! The restaurant looks like a sweet little southern lady's home, country-themed and welcoming. The staff is always friendly, and on top of their game. I have yet to have to ask for more coffee or chase down someone to take my order. Oh, and by the register are some of the best goodies in town! I love the cookies!

Went for breakfast on my last day in Orlando, and it was a good decision. The waitress was very friendly and prompt and the food was good. I had blueberry pancakes & bacon, bf had regular pancakes, bacon & hash browns. Coffee was yummy and refilled and the prices were reasonable. The place was pleasant and clean and the decor was countrified. We both left full & happy.

Excellent service. Canned hash was average. Eggs cooked right and buttermilk biscuit was better than most. Very good coffee. Wife said the sweet potato biscuit was worth returning for. Eggs and ham were nothing special but the hash browns were crisped well. We will return to try some other breakfast items.

This is my first time here and I was so excited to try it, but man, what a disappointment. We were sat right away and before we even looked at the menu we were asked what we wanted. I'm assuming they deal with regulars often. We ordered our two meals and then waited an hour without the waitress ever coming back to our table. Not once did she check on us or explain why we didn't have food yet. Maybe the cook quit? Maybe they had a call out? Maybe they aren't used to a full restaurant? Maybe this is normal for them? We have no idea because no one talked to us for the entire hour. The food itself was okay at best. I ordered a simple veggie omelet with cheddar and it came out with American cheese. Hash browns were undercooked. I did not order any of their "signature" items like the sweet potato biscuit; maybe if I had it would have been a better food experience. This could have been an "off" day for them, but the lack of attention and how they handled the situation was off putting. I don't have any desire to try them again.

This restaurant has some good western meals. It is a small family owned establishment that was packed when we arrived, which is always a good sign. The prices are reasonable. The portions are large, just under excessive. The restaurant was clean and the service was friendly.

Just ate. Had high hopes, especially since everyone raved about the sweet potato biscuits, the gravy and service. I don't usually mind the food being mediocre if the service is good. Well, the gravy was disappointing, I can taste and tell it was more flour than anything. The biscuit, I didn't get to try because it never came out. I didn't want it at the end because I was already done. And the service... We waited forever for food, another server just plopped it down. And 20 minutes later, after we were ready to leave, did our server come and ask how things were. Oh, no refill on coffee either. Sorry, Dixie Belle. I had high hopes for you since you are a local breakfast joint, but you disappointed me way beyond belief.

Closer to 3.5 stars but will round up. Came in craving Country Fried Steak. This one was decent but did not taste homemade. On the other hand, the gravy was wonderful and the hash browns were crispy as requested. Service was excellent and friendly. Still looking for a good homemade hand breaded country/chicken fry that seems to be missing from the Orlando dining scene. Would order something different next time.

Family friendly and good. So good they brought my kids puzzles while we were waiting for our food. Had a sweet potato biscuit before breakfast, amazing. Better than Flying Biscuit I swear.

Yum- French dip was delicious, bun was buttered and placed on flat grill till golden brown, as requested. Fries were crunch as requested (though they seemed to be the crunchy frozen Idaho style in the grocery store,,,,,it's better than the floppy fries were so I will not complain. Companion's breakfast was cooked just right; eggs over medium, pattie sausage fresh and brown, bacon crisp. It was a good meal.

If Jesus were to come again today, he would probably go straight to Dixie Belle's Cafe and get the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. He'd know that even though it's not on the menu, that they'd still make it for him. You are welcome for the best tip you've ever read on Yelp. I accept thanks in the form of donations and/or cookies. Seriously though, if you get anything here that is not the Chicken Cordon Bleu, then you are not doing it right. It's one of those things that once you eat it, you don't think you'll be able to eat anything else on the menu, because it probably just won't measure up. Oh yeah, and tater tots. Those are marvelous too.

A decent breakfast, nothing really to complain about. I had the Blue Plate, I think it was called. Good eggs, really good bacon, a heavy biscuit, potatoes. The staff seemed friendly enough. As other have mentioned, there is a unusual ratio between the cars in the full parking lot and few customers inside. There is some parking around back as well.
