Great priced drinks and they're STRONG! All you can eat popcorn

If you're looking for a strong drink in a dive-ish bar atmosphere with free popcorn and good live music, you've found your spot. It can be overcrowded at times but the bartenders and servers always seem to get to everyone. The crowd can be a strange mix where me, a 30 something, can either feel right at home or completely over the hill.

Strong drinks. Free popcorn. Great people watching. Casey's is never a disappointment. Bonus points if it's a night that they have live music to jam along to while enjoying your drink. Be warned, this place can get crowded! But the atmosphere is so fun even someone as insanely claustrophobic as myself doesn't really mind it here.

I've stopped by Casey's a few times. I have to say the thing I enjoy most about this place is the popcorn. I guess there are too many other places I'd rather enjoy a beer at without the smoke. The beer list is adequate (though about $1 more than what I usually pay) and will do when I'm with friends. I'm only coming here if I'm with others. When I do I enjoy drinking a beer on their patio and people watch.

This is one of my favorite bars downtown to just hangout and have some drinks with friends. Live music. Free popcorn. Generously poured drinks for a very reasonable price. The End.

The bouncer very forcefully grabbed and bruised my arm last night after failing to adequately voice his desire to see my ID (I'm 32 btw). This was a rude and unneccesary assault. I don't know why people insist on continuing to frequent this dive. The tiny space is always packed and deafeningly loud.

Been going to this place for a little while. They serve drinks and have music shows at night. The music shows are great and the drinks too. Thursday nights are known as Martini Thursdays: drink 12 martinis and the 13th one is free. Shirt swap Sundays are a blast. This is when the patrons exchange shirts with each other in a gesture of friendship and mutual admiration.

Packed on weekends, but well worth it. Drinks are cheap (stoli and soda is 6.50) and by far one of the strongest pours in Orlando. Good crowd, great place to start or end the night.

Great place for downtown happy hour! Staff and owner are excellent about remembering your name and drink. Very friendly and super stiff drinks. Love the outdoor seating when it is not summer.

this place is so much fun in the evenings.. live music.. strong drinks.. free popcorn!

Casey's might be small but what it lacks in size it makes up for in popularity. There is not a night of the week that goes by without a small, or in some cases large crowd gathered around this little bar on the corner of Central and Rosiland. The weekends can bring a line out the door with a packed sidewalk patio area and standing room only inside. I really don't know what it is about this dive that draws so many regulars but it certainly does. Inside there's a wrap around bar in the middle, a few TVs, tables, and a stage area for their live music. They have various musicians playing radio hits as well as jazzy numbers throughout the week, though when the music's playing it can be hard to hear your companion speak. My love is the popcorn machine there, its great to grab a basket with a brew and visit with friends. Casey's has a very laid back atmosphere and attracts everyone from happy hour office workers, to hipsters, to rocker types, to those heading to a dance club after. Its mainly filled with casually dressed 30 somethings out to unwind with a beer and possibly a shot or two as the night progresses. With the friendly service and many regulars Casey's claims I can see while it may be plain its popular. I suggest popping in before or after your usual bars to check out its relaxed charm.

This place makes some of the strongest (and cheapest) drinks ever! Granted, I'm from NYC so everything in Orlando is cheap to me, but we definitely got our money's worth at Casey's. It's a little tight inside, and the bathrooms were a little dirty, but overall it's a great place!

  • A.B. M.

If you need a strong drink (strongest I've found in Orlando) and a chill atmosphere head on down to Casey's. No food here except for popcorn and drinks so eat before you get here. The bartenders are always friendly and give great service which is a huge reason to find many regulars (myself included). It's a small bar so Thur-Sat can feel very tight, but if you get there early, (before 10pm), you should find yourself a seat both inside or out. Any other night gives you the chance to just kick back and avoid the crowd. I would suggest making Casey's the starter bar to meet up with friends to have some drinks and then head on out to do what you gotta do.

My favorite night at Casey's is Sunday. They usually have live music that rocks, plus it's not as packed so it's more fun to go with a group of friends. I hang out there until midnight and then head over to Wall Street.

I stopped in last night (a Thursday) for the first time and I can assure you I'll be back! The service is amazing. My bartender was so friendly and cheerful, it really made a great impression on not just him, but the bar itself. They have a colorful and well-written chalkboard that lists some of their drink selections to the right when you walk in. I sat outside under their awning and I was still able to hear the live band which was really nice. I will definitely be coming back to this location again especially now I know that they give out free popcorn! WIN!

Walking around, looking for a good place to hang out for the night, we hear some good music coming from Casey's so we decided to check it out. Small bar, laid back, very casual, and a good list of beers and moonshine titled "Crafts, Drafts and Shines" on the blackboard, plus full bar. We sat at the bar and Todd, out bartender, immediately took our order. 4 strong, filled to the top drinks for about $23 is a good deal. I looked at the moonshine menu and after talking to our bartender, decided on the Strawberry one. He takes out this mason jar and pours generously into a short glass. Taste is sweet, I can definitely taste strawberry, and the alcohol... I do not recommend having more than one of these, I think this would creep up and, although it might contribute to a fun night, I don't know what the morning would feel like. So, trying to avoid that I took just that one and stuck to my other drink. The bar is good for meeting people, music is not so loud that you can't talk, plus, like I said, the environment is so casual, and laid back, it just invites you make new friends. There's also some room for dancing. If I lived in the area I would see myself coming here often.

  • Mercy L.

Good drinks and free popcorn. What more do you want?! Get the shine bomb: strawberry moonshine shot dropped into a half glass of angry orchard. Finish the night off with their free popcorn with a variety of shaken flavors (ranch, cheddar, etc)

just order a regular drink. It comes as a double. They are known for stiff drinks. An orlando staple. Good for starting or ending your night. Great service. Live music nightly and the outdoor seating is perfect for people watching!

  • Joseluis A.

i had a few hours to kill in orlando so i decided to find a bar, grab a beer and hopefully get some free entertainment. thats exactly what happened. caseys is a bit divey and it seems like it has some loyal clients. the evening i was there there was a guy playing covers on his acoustic guitar. the bartender was nice and chatty and prices are good compared to miami beach standards. overall positive experience, i wonder what this place is like on a weekend evening! free pop corn at all times. yikes!

    (4)
  • Joseph M.

Great staff, live music nightly. Koozies and popcorn with flavor seasonings. What more could you ask for along with sticky floors and all kinds of various fun people.

  • Jeff K.

Lots of great reviews here, but... I don't know, I'm just not a fan. Maybe I'm over the types of places that serve cheap, off-brand liquor in those translucent plastic dixie cups. Where every surface, from the bar to the tables to the floor, is always sticky. Where the entire place always smells like that disgusting industrial cleaner that the bars on Church St. use to wash out all of the herpes and barf. You know the stuff -- and if you don't, walk down the strip on Church St one day. The bars don't even have to be open, you can smell it from fifty paces. Anyway, it smells like that in Casey's. They're dog friendly, which is good, but I would never bring my dog there.

  • Elizabeth N.

Nothing fancy about this bar, but it is a good dive bar to just hangout in. What I love about this bar is the free popcorn! Not only is the popcorn free, but there is a bunch of different seasoning salt you can also use. Decent beer bottle list. I was pretty disappointed with the draft beer selection though. Great place to start or end your night. Oh and the bartenders are super friendly also!

    (4)
  • Joey D.

Staff is always nice and remember your drink! Friday happy hour has free food catered in. It's different every week and always delicious! They have a home-infused "moonshine' that they claim is 100+ proof, that while tasty, I don't believe is that strong. I've had 3 and not really felt them. They have free popcorn! Nice when you want something to pick on. The bar top is also really cool

  • Leigh Ann T.

Still one of my all time favorite local bars. Our group had a blast this past weekend, celebrating my best friends birthday. Drinks are strong, popcorn is yummy (and they even have flavors to sprinkle on) and the music is awesome!.

  • Stephen S.

I'm easy to please. Dogfish 60 minute up a on tap. And free popcorn. Tv s had the games on. Right next door to a pool hall!

Live music and free popcorn are the only good things about this place.

  • Moki C.

Ah Casey's...the bar where you don't have to tell them to pour you a stiff one. I love this place! The crowd is a mix of professionals, lumberjacks, college kids, and barflys...but it is consistent. I think people who are unfriendly anywhere else step into Casey's and become "people" people. I've always had so much fun here...free peanuts, live music, and a happy hour spread on Fridays. Check it out!

Casey's on Central is like my lucky rabbit's foot. Anytime I start my night off here I have the perfect evening. This is a great place, it feels comfortable and friendly. I don't know the owner but they sure do a good job of making you feel like you do. Free late night popcorn is a good reason to come back to this bar after your travels. They have a tiny area where live acts perform and they are masters at fitting(jamming) everyone in and yet not making it uncomfortable. My downtown ritual will always include Casey's on Central, - Lucky rabbit's foot indeed.

    (5)
  • Annie L.

Start or end your night here. These bartenders know what to do when you want a "DRINK"

  • Amanda E.

In a visit to downtown Orlando on a Saturday evening, Casey's was a nice escape to find some live music. I think the best part is the free popcorn. It was pretty crowded, however they had waitresses walking around so you don't have to fight your way to the bar. I would definitely go back next time I'm in the area.

    (4)
  • Cassie F.

I'm a sucker for any place where you can sit outside and where they pour a real drink - well 5 *'s on both! Like it here!

  • Colleen R.

What an awesome place, when ever I visit Orlando, Casey's is a must. I always have a great time, drinks & music is good and the servers are awesome. Last time I was there I met Casey the owner, no wonder this is such a great place, he made me feel even more comfortable than I already was!!! Great guy!! Great bar!!

    (5)
  • K. J.

With no cover, good music and low priced drinks, Casey's is an open door to the beginning or the end of your night. Either you start there with a few drinks and leave before the alcohol hits, or you let the booze soaked drinks kick you in the face and weld your but to your seat. The choice is yours, but either way you're in for a great night. I give it a thumbs up. Oh yeah, the women there are always a plus, and yes I said women not girls. Have fun, drink all the way up. Responsibly! P.S. THEY HAVE FREE POPCORN ALL NIGHT. What more do you want? Signed, MrKnowItAll

Man I love this place. I mean, for dive bars, this one is pretty much the epitome of it. Smokey, dank, not much bling except for the random stuff on the walls that the patrons bring in. And let's not forget the bathroom graffiti. There are some great artists out there that leave their mark on the walls from every corner of the artistic spectrum. Especially the avant-garde shock artists. There seems to be a lot of that. I don't even think the men's bathroom has a toilet seat. (Probably stolen) If my night starts out here, it's most likely going to get pretty epic. Maybe that's because the bartenders are pretty damn awesome and heavy handed with a bottle. This place is cheap, friendly, and homey. That's what a dive bar should be. A place you can come in dressed for the club, or dressed for bed, and no-one cares and is just as friendly. Thankfully, the typical Orange Ave Jackassery stays out of this place, I've never seen a fight, except on who gets to buy the next round of shots. And frankly, that's a fight I can live with. I can honestly say this place contributes to me screwing up my weekly gym progress, thanks to the free movie popcorn and well poured drinks. Still one of the better long islands I've ever had was from here, and anything else I've had is just as good. The small one or two man bands that come and entertain you are all pretty good, I've yet to have one that makes me want to stuff popcorn in my ears. If you want to kick off the night, or end it in a blaze of glory, Casey's is a good place for it.

I'd always heard about Casey's from friends and from walking by because I always park on Central and when I finally went I was excited to find that their prices were very reasonable AND that their Long Islands were very very strong. Seems fair enough to me! Pay very little and get really tipsy. The atmosphere is also very fun. I prefer sitting outside to people watch. We all do it. - don't judge me ... or do. Whatever. This is a really chill place to go on a weeknight or to watch a Magic game. The bar staff is really awesome, too.

Good POPPYCORN! But the patrons were faaarrr out of our age range. Nice live music though.

  • Mike T.

Can't say much that hasn't been said. Great place to prime the pump before a movie, a dinner or going to some overrated loud club to pay too much for drinks. Seems like everyone going out passes by here also on a downtown night so it's a great place to watch the hotties-if you like that sort of thing..... Good live entertainment also......can't go wrong here unless you want to sit in the corner with someone talking....

Casey's. You can't even consider yourself a resident of Orlando if you haven't been here. There is nothing fancy about this place and the bathroom situation is often unbearable, but Orlando is in love with Casey's. Great bartenders, strong drinks and an awesome, awesome crowd. crazed loners? check. 20 somethings dressed up and ready for a night of clubbing? check. A rugby team fresh from a game? check. A 50 year old man with his dog? check. This place welcomes everyone and that's the way it should be.

Popcorn! Get ya popcorn here! Casey's on Central is one of the best low key no frills bars in Orlando. I have always seen Casey's as a great starting and/or ending point for any excursion downtown. The drinks are reasonably priced and strong. The staff is crazy cool, friendly, and just downright awesome. Nowadays how often do you see the owner mixing it up behind his very own bar? The answer is easy. Not that often. Casey keeps his clientele happy and coming back again and again. The atmosphere and environment is so laid back. While things may get cramped inside, you will always find refugees congregating around the outside patio area. On certain nights, you can catch some of Orlando's local music flavor. If you are a dog lover then you must attend their annual Dog Fest. I hear it is quite the time! If you happen to be new to the area then I recommend stopping by Casey's to experience the true Orlando. None of that Mickey Mouse stuff. Come on down to Casey's. WeatherMan Predicts: 100% chance of scoring brownie points if you happen to be a fan of anything Michigan (particularly the Wolverines). Also ask if they have any jolly rancher shots. You will be glad you did. I am partial to the Sour Apple one myself!

Casey's is another cool Downtown bar...great for grabbing a few drinks! It's kind of a small place, and tends to get jammed with people...especially on weekends. As small as it is, they still manage to get live bands on a tiny little stage. I've heard some good music there. They have limited seating outside on Central. They don't serve food, but they do have free popcorn! You can grab a basket and fill it up for those late night munchies! Overall a cool place.

Open Bar, excuse moi? Yep, that's right, Casey's just had their 11th Anniversary last night and had open bar from 5pm -7pm for the Orlando community to come in and celebrate Casey's success. If you think about it, for a bar to be open in Downtown Orlando for 11 years, that is quite impressive. Before they were there, many businesses came in and out of that location and many people knew it to be cursed. But Casey's has BEAT THAT CURSE! Casey's is a very relaxed chill bar to go to during the week but very crowded on the weekend. My fav time to go to Casey's is during the week when it is not empty but a good amount of people. Typically Wed are good night's to get a medium sized crowd. The bar is pretty small, and sometimes I wish it could be bigger, but bartenders are extremely nice. Drinks are strong! If you get a chance to go by, head there during the week and grab a table outside. With the weather like it is now in the 70s it is comfortable to sit outside of Casey's!

  • Natalie C.

Oddly enough, my first impression of the corner bar, Casey's on Central, was of the restroom area. Before I was able to survey the bar and atmosphere, I had to make my way to the ladies room. It was there that I saw a gigantic advertisement for the Broadway show The Lion King. It has come and gone and thus seemed to be fair game for doodlers and tipsy patrons with a pen. Other areas of the bar also had theater posters and cool pictures. It's not an incredibly large space so it seemed crammed with people on a Saturday around 11pm. A talented man was playing the guitar on a small stage and was, in my opinion, doing a great job. They offer live music a few nights a week and sometimes post their calendar online. The bartenders were doing a decent job from what I could tell keeping up with requests despite people milling about inside and outside. They do have a few tables out there when the weather is nice. And it's a great location since not only is it on a corner, but it's near other great bars and eateries. So you could head to Central for the night, grab dinner, drinks and not be forced to stay in just one spot. Overall it's pretty open and commands a good crowd. It's not the type of place where you could sit and have meaningful conversations with someone due to the noise but if you're out to have an entertaining evening, then I believe they could provide it.

  • Bryne Y.

Pretty cool little bar situated off the main drag. It's almost always too crowded for me to even bother going in, but last night was an exception and I came away impressed. Friendly staff, decent drink prices and a strong pour. I can see why they get so busy most nights.

    (4)
  • Nathan R.

Casey's on Central is known around town as the bar that makes the strongest drinks downtown. While this alone is good enough appeal for me, Casey's also provides good service, even in their busiest times, and a great mix of friendly people just wanting to have a good time. The interior is quite small and even more noticeable on the weekends, and they also provide a good amount of outdoor seating. Another plus is that they provide FREE popcorn to snack on to soak up a little bit of that alcohol (or satisfy the hunger of your inner drunk). I usually stop at Casey's before heading to another bar, it is a great place to get a start to your night.

    (4)
  • Rob W.

Casey's is always one of the most happening places in downtown orlando. They usually have some low volume live music going so people can talk over it. And this seems to be the key to Casey's, a rather low key place where you can meet, hangout, and talk.. The crowd spills from the inside to the outside tables and almost out into the street on weekends. You can expect to find free popcorn and stongly poured drinks being served. If you want to listen to the music you go on a weeknight, weekends the raucous conversation nearly overpowers it.

    (4)
  • Tommy ..

Place is disgusting, entire bar smells like urine, thats why the front doors are kept open all the time, if your hurting for cash and need a quick cheap drink and your not with a date then this place is great, other than that there are plenty of other places to go downtown...

    (1)
  • Kat E.

    Go here to get schloshed!

  • Joe F.

Prices are kind of silly but I loved the burgers omg!

    (4)
  • Pamela G.

Joyce, you rock my world!!! She makes fabu drinks and will break-dance if you ask her to. I like this place-not pretentious and mean. Plus there's a popcorn popper if you need to snack on something. There are a few bros, but that's any bar on a Saturday.

    (4)
  • Jerrica J.

Cute boys hang out here, but the puke-like smell usually deters me from coming here. I prefer to spend time outside on the patio when possible. Usually its so crowded, there are no seats. The inside has a popcorn maker and the server brings some to your table. I question this popcorn, all the time. Drinks are cheap, and gets you pretty drunk. Most people usually pre-game here before moving on to other locations.

  • caitlin v.

Casey's has been around for so long because Casey's McIlroy, the owner, knows how to run a good bar. His staff knows what they are doing, his drinks are strong and fairly priced. If you are looking for a good locals bar without the bullshit, stop by Casey's. You'll be glad you did...

Strong drinks and popcorn. What more do you need?
