We moved from San Diego a year ago and I have been looking for a real carne asada burrito. Florida does not know how to make a burrito..they use fillers...beans and rice...nothing but carb hell. At Tono's the burritos are all meat. The Carnitas has that grilled pork flavor and the carne asada does too. The beef could be more tenderized and chopped finer. Fresh chopped pico de gallo: onions...cilantro and tomatoes and peppers. Top it off with guacamole and you gave THE PERFECT BURRITO. Southern Californians...when you come for vacation to Orlando...get your Mexican fix here!

Located in a sketchy looking part of Orange Blossom Trail, the atmosphere inside and outside doesn't seem promising. However, the food is surprisingly delicious and at a great price. The sign outside actually says "Tono's Tacos" and upon entering, there is loud Mexican juke box music playing with sticky floors and chipped wooden tables that is reminiscent of a rundown McDonald's. After sitting down at a booth, we realized that some of the booths were at different levels with some rather low. Service was slow with only one person cooking and one person at both drive-through and the counter at noon, taking about five minutes to order with one person in line in front of me and about five minutes of waiting. However, the $5 fish burrito I ordered was not only huge, but filled with about four huge sticks of freshly fried fish, lettuce, and a mayonnaise based sauce that I would definitely go back for. Other menu items include $2 tacos, platters, and seemingly really good food 24/7. 2 stars for the store itself and 4 stars for food, averaging to a decent 3.

Decent food for what it is. This is primarily a late night eat joint in my opinion since you can find better Mexican food during the day. I come here when it's past midnight and my choices to eat are slim to none. The food is not bad but it definitely doesn't deserve a 4 star rating. If I could do 3.5 I would. I have a had an assortment of items from the menu and found all of it to be pretty decent albeit not special. Recommended if you are looking for a late night eat.

The California wasn't a true California like I got in San Diego, but it will suffice for now. Where is a good legit California burrito place? No rice no beans. I want Carne asada, fries, sour cream and cheese. Is it that hard

Originally a South Texas girl, I miss the goodness that is the breakfast taco. So, when I had some time to kill before Costco opened, I thought I would check this place out. Pretty sketchy area so I was very happy to discover there was a drive thru. Service was extremely slow but the chorizo burrito was terrific! Huge. Not too greasy. I asked the woman if it came with cheese on it and she said yes but I'm not sure it did unless it was that well mixed in. Overall, I would not make an extra trip over to this part of town but, if I'm in the area, this was very satisfying.

The name of this place is now TONOS... I decided to come here on 4/10/14 with a few cousins in search of some Mexican grub. I did like the roll tacos. The steak needs to be trimmed better, way too much fat in every bite. Huge carne Asada frie (like a nacho but fries used instead of chips) The steak is lacking real MARINATED flavor. (My description of this mess below) The carne Asada/steak is more like salt/peppered chopped sirloin no marinating to make it tender NO NOTHING! (Wasted money) Also had carne Asada burrito that had so many chunks of fat I threw it away. Very thin guacamole (sighh) I'm spoiled from San Diego Mexican food. I do give others a try. So far Nobody can touch CALI'S Baja California style. (My opinion)

The chimichanga was huge with a lot of beef! The place look sketchy at first but wasn't bad. I will probably go back later and try something else. And try the carne asada fries. There really good!

Good bang for your buck in my honest opinion! Great authentic mexican cuisine for a low price, always get the same thing when i visit, the carne asada burrito or california burrito which ever one im feeling. both are filling and they have some of the best horchata ever! (rice milk beverage) From the outisde it looks kinda shady but have no fear the food is great! Stop on in or try them through the drive thru, Open LATE too!

Stopped by here earlier for take-out went through the drive-thru. It's been forever since since I had Betos. But it's now called Tono's. Still the same menu food still good. I had the #10 Carne Asada plate for about $9 and some change. Let me tell You food portions here are still HUGE!! The steak can use a little more flavor but everything else was Great! Came with rice and beans which was good! Also came with lettuce pico de gallo and guac and also choice of corn tortilla or flour tortilla. Takes about 10-15 waiting in the drive-thru but everything is made to order which is good because you know your getting hot food. OH Beto's/Tono's how've I missed you so much

Is Beto's in a sketchy part of town? Sure. Is it even sketchier when I usually show up at three in the morning? Absolutely. Is the place the most well lit restaurant I've ever been in? No. Do I love it? YES! We're talking authentic Mexican meets fast food (with a 24 hour drive through to boot). To clarify, just because I show up in the wee hours, doesn't mean I'm drunk. Most of my Beto's experiences have been stone sober and they've all been great. I admit, that when I find a dish that I love, my food tunnel vision can kick in. I order the same thing every time I go to Beto's. It's the carne asada plate with a sunny side up egg, rice and beans. I mean, c/mon, why would order anything else. I've never finished the plate, and I'm not exactly a dainty eater. Fortunately my friends don't suffer the same affliction, so I've managed to sample a few other dishes. I've thoroughly enjoyed everything that I've tasted.

I've driven by this place many times and after many recommendations, I finally decided to give it try. Although nothing in the decor is inviting, Betos (different name now I believe) serves some tasty dishes and the portions are a good size. On my last visit I had the carne asada fries, which is easily a meal on its own. And I also had the adobada taco. Both were delicious and filling. Those two items and a drink came out to just over $10. This isn't fine dining but if your looking for a good, quick meal then dont let the appearance intimidate you, give it a try

Not bad for a late night 24 hour drive thru. The carne asada burrito had a few chunks of fat and cartilage (which I can't stand), but overall it was okay. The burrito also didn't have rice and beans in it. I'm not sure if that's an American thing or not since I don't order burritos very often. I also had the 3 rolled tacos which also weren't bad, but they also weren't what I was expecting. I've had these at other places and they called them toquitos. Again, maybe that's just a American or location-specific difference. I would go here again, but I would definitely try something different.

If we could rate this a ZERO star, WE WILL! We are visiting orlando for a week and we were hungry for mexican food, searched Yelp for 4-5 star mex restaurant and found this. (We were supposed to go back to Border Grill, which was definitely by far the most authentic mexican restaurant I've been to... But it was close on Sundays....) So we searched yahoo & yelp and found this over rated place. Ambience: it looks like an abandoned fast food place, no mexican ambience at all and very dirty. Cashier: I've proven what the other yelpers mentioned that the staff are unfriendly. Our cashier has this flat affect on her face, doesn't smile and looked so disinterested and bored while we were giving our orders. No welcome nor thank you not even a smile from her! Food: we ordered carne asada fries, burrito, tacos and extra guacamole, and paid $30 for this 3 items! What a total waste of money! We threw the food after 3 bites... The fried were oily, topped with fake guacamole, sour cream, cheese and tasteless old carne asada.... The burrito meat, didn't have any taste at all, no cheese, no rice, no beans, no sour cream... Just plain meat and burrito wrap The guacamole was the worst of them all (see picture that i posted)... It was slimy pureed of some sort of green stuff, but DEFINITELY NOT avocado! It was terrible! I threw up the moment i tasted it! The tacos are also nasty tasting, the salsa was just tomato and onions, nothing else.... The rice was old and flavorless and the beans were like mushy sticky paste.... Just a regular food lover here, and this is definitely on my list of worst food experience.... Save yourself and stay away from this place! Might as well go to chipotle....

I drove up last night around 2:30am after a long night and wanting to just catch a bite that wasn't McDonald's or Burger King. So I swung in ordered 2 taco's and a chicken chimi. With a soda it was like $10 so you cant complain about the price for good food. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is it took them about 15 minutes at the drive through which honestly I didn't mind but I know the folks in front of me screaming at them did.

They may have changed their name, but it's the same place nonetheless. I am surprised to see such great reviews on here. I cannot overstate how disappointed I am by this place. Let me be clear that I am not referring to its outward appearance, because I will try anything unless they've been on the news. My [ex]boyfriend and I decided to try this place one night since we always see it on the side of the road while we are out. We ordered a lot of food, so this was not just a fluke. First, we shared the steak quesadilla. Good flavor, but almost entirely made out of beef scraps and grizzle - terrible quality. Next, we each had a burrito - his beef, mine chicken. My boyfriend chipped a tooth on his! As for my burrito, it was literally just chicken pieces in a tortilla. I was so unimpressed. When I order burritos, I expect rice and beans AT LEAST. Not just random pieces of meat. I took two bites and threw the rest away. I could not even bring myself to try the tacos we ordered. Also, I will repeat what Liliana F. said despite the fact that I gave it one dollar sign: "not cheap." The point being I spent the same for a crappy burrito that I would on a delicious one at Chipotle. All that money for sub-par food and my ex's chipped tooth. Never going back again.

New owner makes up prices as we order. We would go weekly for breakfast burritos and the last two times we would charge us wrong or make the order wrong. They don't care about the customers and knowing they will never read this.

I really really really REALLY wanted to like Beto's. It had high reviews so I figured I would check it out. It's located in a totally sketchy area of town and is definitely no-frills. None of those things really bothered me... I was there for some good tacos. My first problem was the totally rude cashier and staff. The cashier just basically gave me a dirty look when I approached the register to order. No "hello," no "how can I help you?" Just a glare. I ordered and waited on my food. When the food came out, my first impression was that it was a HUGE amount of food. BIG BIG burrito, an enchilada, and some rice. My boyfriend ordered a "half plate" of rice and beans and it was ABSURDLY LARGE. So our first impression was - WOW, they are not cheap on the servings here! So we sat down and delved into our food. It was BLAND. Like really, really bland. The rice was completely tasteless and the beans were mediocre (and surely straight from a can). I ordered a large shredded beef burrito, enchilada, and rice and beans platter. The meat in the beef burrito was actually pretty tasty, and sauteed with onions and peppers. However, the served all of my food on a very small plate, doused the cheese enchilada in sauce and dropped the burrito into it. The result was that ALL of my food tasted like canned-enchilada sauce. I couldn't escape it, there was a puddle sitting at the bottom of my plate. I tasted my boyfriend's marinated pulled-pork tacos, they were terrible. Just bland and dried out. Which was surprising because the meat appeared to have a lot of spice on it (it was almost bright red with hot peppery-looking spice). All in all, the meal was NOT good. There's no way we'd return because the quality of the food was just not there. I want to believe that we ordered the wrong stuff... but even the basics (rice and beans) were bad. I'm disappointed!

In my opinion, the best Mexican food in all of Orlando. Everything is made fresh and in house right down to the tortillas. The fish taco is amazing, as are the carnitas. Only downside is that it's in a somewhat sketchy area of town, definitely not the kind of place I'd feel comfortable with a girlfriend going by herself after dark. They also have a drive thru, and the food is just as good 20 minutes later when you're home. Oh, and whoever said it's in an abandoned McDonalds is flat out wrong. It's in an abandoned Wendy's. Get your abandoned fast food chains right!

Drive thru 24 hours? Yes, please! Authentic Mexican meets fast food, yes, it's real It's on OBT so I have driven by various times but never had a chance to check it out. It's been bookmarked for a long time and tonight, the drive thru sealed the deal. I went with enchiladas with shredded chicken, peppers and onions. I am pretty sure I ordered an average plate so I must return because it was just okay. The flavors were there but there was hardly any meat and it was almost minced, not shredded so I was a little put off by that. It was piping hot when it came out though which I appreciate. I could tell it was authentic but I really felt they were lacking in the quantity of meat. I will have to wait till I am in the area again and possibly run in for sit down.

Every time I come here the food is excellent but the service is just a little slow due to the lack of people that work here. Great place to eat just expect to be waiting a little while for your food.

I was around the area on vacation had a taste for Mexican food this is the Worst place to stop by "rude cashier " place is dirty!!! No greetings from the staff and it is not cheap... The worst food the rice had no taste ....taco meat the worst. The beans no taste .. I would not recommend this place at all. This place is trashy..

The area is questionable, actually it's downright creepy BUT the food is GREAT! Hit the drive through window and eat in the comfort of your home! Haven't found anything there we don't like! Be sure to ask for the pickled veggies, they make the meal!

I love the fact that after so many years, this place kicks butt so hard. Great food, great price. Bad neighborhood? Meh, that's OBT for you. But the taste makes it all worth while. 24 hours, great spicy salsa and guacamole is to die for.

Normally I'd dock a location some points from misleading me on the price.... however, I was misled on the price of this place from YELP!!! The Yelp app had the "explore the menu" and it listed items as $1-2 cheaper than they actually were. This is why I uploaded an updated photo of the drive-thru menu (see photo). With that said, NICE late night Mexican food. And this coming from a Californian visiting Florida. My party had a lot of food. We had the Super Nachos w/ the Works ($7.89), Texano burrito ($4.09), California burrito ($4.29), Breakfast burrito ($3.59), Chile rellenos ($4.59), and 5 rolled tacos w/ guac ($3.59). Super Nachos come w/ cheese, sour cream, guac, onions, beans, pico de gallo, and (of course) carne asada. Word to the wise, this is a LARGE portion (see photo) and the carne asada is peppered. Not sure I've seen that before. Initially I was interested. After about finishing half the nachos, I felt that the peppering was a bit much. Still tasty though. Texano was pretty much a man's burrito. Meat. Potatoes. Done. Hearty and filling. Completely a meal in and of itself. 5 Rolled taco's were very skimpy and I'd never do that one again. Small rolled tacos, lots of lettuce, not much flavor. The other items we purchased I didn't get to taste, but they looked amazing. My only hang up with this place is that we actually didn't order that Texano. When we got back to our hotel we found it. We were wondering why the total of our bill was so high (we went drive-thru). I think the mic on the drive thru isn't so stellar. TIP: They have free wi-fi inside. I didn't get a chance to try it out (b/c I went drive thru), but if it works that would be pretty awesome. TIP 2: Salsas are pretty spicy, so proceed with caution.

I saw this driving by, checked it out on Yelp, then swung through the take out. I liked what i got, but to be honest, it's not the usual American Style Mexican food. And, it was okay. I DEFINITELY want to try other items. With the portions being so large, it's not really practical to order and sample many things, unless you brought a friend or your dog...... The staff is nice, the speed of food service is fine, the neighborhood fair. I'll be trying them again, to try to find that "sweet spot" in what they offer and what I like!

Underwhelmed! The food isn't nearly as good as the original Betos at the corner of 17 - 92 and 436...unfortunately Pancho's bought the place and ruined the original menu.

  • Nobuyuki S.

Given that the Beto's location at Fern Park/Casselberry seems to be gone, I was okay with trying this one. I love fish tacos ever since I started eating them in Southern California, and Beto's were the only place I found that did them well. The two women at the counter spoke minimal English, which is a huge change from the other location, but then, I spoke better Spanish back then, living in this area. I asked about a drink, and they pointed to the machine. I suppose that is reasonable, since they probably never have to speak English in their lives. In any case, the food took a little while, consistent with the other location, and it was overwhelming in size. Two tacos filled the plate. The lettuce was fresh, the fish crispy, and the sauce was good. They have free WiFi but most people in search of a hip place may find the worn furnishings less than wonderful. It's all about the food, though, yes? Who cares about the booths?

I dunno what some other reviewers are comparing this place to. I was unimpressed by just about everything. This includes price, since the quality of food is not good so the question lies in: how much would I pay for sub-standard food? I think we know the answer to that. In defense of the place, we went for the breakfast burritos, which were pretty big for the price but they were simply not good. Let's put aside appearance, since it's hard for a breakfast burrito to "wow" you with looks, the taste was just bland and I could tell my stomach would be punishing me later for the quality. B.E.C. and "the breakfast burrito" (essentially a papas burrito with ham) were both pretty lousy. I ended up throwing away most of the mine after trying to get through 1/3 of it to no avail. There's a self-serve salsa setup, but aside from the spiciness that really doesn't help the 'flavor' case. There was only one person taking orders, cleaning and cooking. This lead to other patrons coming in looking at the menu, waiting to AT LEAST be acknowledged, then walking back out without ordering. They could've had the rest of my burrito I guess... I was skeptical about the location from other reviewers, but it lived up to low expectations as well. This might be a bad place to roll though at night, especially if you have kids. Plenty of parking though, so it's not all negative.

I suggest they take California Burrito off of their menu. It's seriously an insult after having consumed so many great burritos in California. Just a tip!

  • Matt S.

This place has the look of Los Pollos Hermanos from Breaking Bad, but once you get past that, the food is beyond fantastic and very reasonably priced. Some of my favorites include the chile rellano burrito, fish burrito, carne asada burrito (notice the trend here?), and any of the breakfast burritos, my favorite bring the bacon, without potato. Without exaggeration, that burrito might have a pound plus of bacon on it. The icing on the cake here would be the fact that they offer pickled peppers and carrots on the condiment area. That is a hallmark of a good Mex place in my mind. If you can get past the ambiance and don't mind seeing a hooker or 2 walk by on the Trail, grab some food at Betos, you won't be disappointed.

  • Alex S.

You don't come to this place for the ambiance. You don't come to this place for free wi-fi. You come to this place because the food is amazing, and the price is right. For 5 dollars, you can have any burrito on the menu, and trust me, they're all good and you may not even be able to finish it. The staff is very nice and helpful, even in the wee hours of the night when everyone else is asleep. Everything is clean, you can see the kitchen directly in front of you so no need to worry. This place is A++.

This place is in a bad area of town. The building looks abandoned. The food is absolutely fantastic. They have meal plates with beans and rice, but I went with a la carte options. I had a chile relleno burrito for $4.09, which was absolutely fantastic. It had the chile, sour cream, guacamole, and other filling. It was not hot, but very flavorful. I also had a mixed burrito for $3.89, which had shredded beef, beans, and pico de gallo. It was very good also, but not as good as the chile relleno. Drinks they had a soda fountain, but I asked about other beverage options and got a small Tamarind drink (20 oz maybe?) for $1.49. I don't drink soda, so this was a pleasant surprise, and it was very good, pretty sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Since I asked first the young lady gave me a sample before I got it, so ask to try it. The inside of the building was clean, and the people were nice enough. Overall, excellent food and I will be back.

This is Real Authentic Mexican food! Hands down! Family owned and operated by real Mexicanos. So don't expect any ameri-mex chain style restaurant food or service here. The food is simply great and true to its roots. The location is not the greatest and the decoration is nothing to keep you smiling about. But who needs fancy stuff when you're just craving real Mexican food. Word of advice. Come hungry! This place will get you stuffed. They serve food all day, making this place a great alternative to corporate chain foods for late night cravings or drunk cures. They even have a drive-thru if you don't want to stumble inside. Be careful though as the drive through can sometimes take a long time. Food is usually served fast and prices are reasonable, specially for the amount of food given. P.S. make sure to try there salsas and breakfast burritos.

An unpleasant experience!! This place gets this rating just for the food - there was nothing to complain in taste, reasonably priced and the quantity was filling. The bad - the place looks like an abandoned McDonald's, the staff was very VERY unpleasant. We ordered for a burrito bowl and were told that we can choose the toppings but were later given a regular burrito saying that they do not have a burrito bowl and that we cannot choose what goes in. The food was good, but the experience wasn't..

I came here the other day and had a great time. The food I ordered was nice and fresh and came out pretty quick. They had a good selection to choose from and the staff was very friendly which is awesome. It wasn't too expensive either compared to the quality. It was an awesome time and had a great meal.

I love me some Mexican Food! This is authentic Mexican food at its best! I love the carne asada here. You can even get it on top of fries with cheese, sour cream and guac! HEART ATTACK! BUT WORTH IT! Their portions are huge and make it a great value! Check this place out after a night of drinking, karaoke, or whatever! They are open 24 hours 7 days a week which makes it even better!!!!!!

What a find ! I had a carne asada burrito with pico de gallo and it was as good as the ones I used to get when I lived in San Diego. Please note the name is now Tono's but the owner is the same and he has been here for 11 years. I will be returning !

Since I've been doing a little bit of work relatively close to here and have driven by it many times en route to and coming home from work, I'd been making a mental note to stop by sometime and check it out. (The existing reviews here on Yelp also got my interest going.) I did so today! So, here's my review. After parking, I stepped inside and immediately was greeted by a girl who took my order and got me cashed out rather quickly. My food was ready in only a few moments, which isn't too surprising since there maybe were 5 other customers inside. I had a fish taco and a bean burrito, and also ordered a large horchata ($1.69.) I think my total was about $6.50. The fish taco was pretty good, though it was kind of messy and was difficult to pick up ... but only because it was loaded with fillings! The bean burrito was pretty good, though I didn't finish it all. It's definitely much better than those flimsy and thin bean burritos you get when you order them at Taco Bell. The Beto's bean burrito is LOADED with beans, though there wasn't much, if anything, else in it. I was expecting maybe some cheese and rice, but nope. Oh, well. No big deal. I may stop in here again sometime down the road, though I've got to put a dent in this library of bookmarks I've added on here before I make a repeat visit. On the other hand, you get A LOT of horchata for $1.69, so I may find myself popping in with a little regularity, even if it's just for one of those. I love horchatas! The prices here seem pretty reasonable. I didn't look at the menu and think "Oh, I'm not ordering that; too expensive" when I saw anything, so you don't have to worry about breaking the bank here. There's a lot on the menu from which you can choose, so give this place a chance if you're nearby. Although, I don't know how many of you that will pertain to. Haha. I was here at around 3 p.m. today, so I can't comment on the crowd/atmosphere of Beto's or the neighborhood at any other time, really. I may stop in at El Rey's Tortas/Tortas El Rey early next week since I've been wanting to try that place, too, and since it's very close to Beto's. Keep your eyes peeled for that review if I make it over there.

Well, this was disappointing... It was late at night, we were starving, and this place was open. The person who took our order messed up on our drink sizes, not a huge deal, but then didn't want to fix it. Overall, the staff was not very friendly. Sometime during our meal, they started blasting music, which was pretty annoying. The food was "okay" at best, the meat tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and was simply reheated in a greasy top, and I've had WAY better tortadas at a food truck. Perhaps it was due to the time of night we went to, but considering all the great reviews, I was really expecting significantly more. Overall... Avoid late at night unless you absolutely need food. Everything in the area seemed to be closed.

Beto's gets 4 stars due to the service. The lady at the window was very rude... but whatever bc the food is AMAZING!! I got the biggest chicken chimichanga for $8!! The chicken was so tender and moist. Well worth the attitude and the wait!

Are you hungry? No I mean really extremely hungry to the point that only a massive burrito can bring you back to life. Well then Beto's is the place to go when hunger strikes! Their burritos are gigantic, their nachos can feed a football player, and the enchiladas can start a party. This place is open 24/7 so whatever craving that comes Beto's can take care of you. Try the machata burrito it's served fresh hot with onions, green peppers, cheese, eggs, and steak. Another postive plus is that they have horchatas (aqua frescas) yay!

Housed in a what appears to be a former McDonald's location, with the recognizable red and yellow booths, chairs and Mcfloor title, off a major street strewn with fast food and vacated businesses, Beto's offers authentic Mexican food at somewhat reasonable prices. While my Mexican food dining experience in Orlando is extremely limited, Beto's Chimichanga, or friend burrito plate comes overflowing with rice, beans, sour cream, avocado sauce, a side salad and salsa. The burrito is chock full of meat and makes for a very filling meal. The restaurant itself is not particularly well cared for, with plastic and air plants nailed onto the walls and the booths having recently received a fresh coat of red and yellow paint. If you need to wash your hands before your meal, do so at home, as if you need to use the men's restroom, you're in for spectacular surprise in grossness.

This place looked closed from the street, but that's not gonna stop East Bay CA girls! We *know* what an authentic mexican place looks like! We pull in and they are open! We ordered: chicken tacos(2) $8, carnitas $8-9. Both are huge, the taco shells are fried tortillas -- and while I was hoping for soft tacos, at least I'm gettin the real deal with a fried tortilla! huge portions, authentico food, reasonable prices. What's not to love??

The best Mexican food in Orlando period. All these reviews that say the food is gross don't know good Mexican food. Yes the place is dirty but it's a taco stand people. Not a 5 star steakhouse. The prices are great as well. And the staff is not rude, they just don't speak English

Drive about and extra half mile past Taco Bell and treat yourself to some real Mexican food like what is served at Beto's. Went there my first time tonight and am sold. Tip: if you get the super nachos, beware that they are huge. Ordered this and two beef tacos and it was too much. This place is a dump, but then again some of the best food comes from joints like this. Beto's is no exception. Will be back.

Yes, the place is in a bad area of town. Yes, the restaurant is ugly inside. Yes, the place has bars on the drive threw window. Yes, the ladies who work there have trouble understanding English but I still have to give this place 5 Stars. Its just good cheap Mexican. I hate Taco Bell but love Mexican late at night so this is my go to place. The only problem is that its not near any good bars so I don't end up here often but when I go the carnita taco puts a smile on my face.

Ive been to the one by altamonte/casselberry area. Ordered rice and beans and a meat entree.. The rice and beans wasn't up to par for my standards. Ive heard otherwise..but I guess i'll order traditional tacos next time. OBT area is where we usually go now..it's closer to us. Carne asada fries are okay...but they are better than torta's next few stores down. carne asada was tad bit greasy and not too much stuff in it more of the meat... Tried the shredded beef burrito...mixed enchiladas...and fish taco. I have to admit -- this is as close to CA mexican food imo. The enchilada sauce is a bit too runny but it's similar to what my daddy gets from rodeo california.. Fish taco is great! I agree the portions is huge for the price you pay. Con's is the intercom from drive thru is pretty raggedy.. they dont understand and speak english well - but once u point out what you want - u will get delicious food!

Finally found a place in Orlando to grab a breakfast burrito in the morning. I hate it when I go out west and have amazing breakfast burritos and then I come home and can't find them anywhere. Well not only did I find some, I found awesome ones! I had the chorizo and this thing was loaded down with the stuff. It must have weight 3/4 of a pound. It resembled a 10 inch sub more than burrito. Will be back. Drive through.

I have been to beto's at both moss park and orlando . consistently the food I have ordered has always been fantastic and served up quickly. I usually order the carne asada which is marinated mexican steak grilled onions and peppers hot tortillas, and rice and beans . This meal runs under $10.00 which is a pretty good bargain.

I have been hearing about this place for a while now from friends. Finally my brother and I decided to stop by and give it a try. We stopped in and right away it looks very authentic. I thought the price for the bean and cheese burrito was a little steep $2.50 but then I got it and it is huge! It was packed with beans and cheese no fillers. Very delicious. They have two sauces a green which is spicy and a red that is spicier. Their menu is huge and I intend on going back and trying their chips with guacamole and cheese enchiladas!

This place looks awful. The place is rundown and need a makeover. The staff is friendly and do their best to keep the place clean. The food was really good but the condition of the building took away from the experience.

This is a great place to eat good authentic Mexican food. Fresh, plentiful, and the taste is as good as I've had anywhere in Florida and almost as good as the best in Texas. Don't mind the humble appearance. The food stands on its own.

I have to say, I had tears in my eyes when I read Isaiah D. and Joy J.'s reviews referring to Beto's similar to CA Mexican food. With only two days left in Florida, I made Beto's a special spot in our day's itinerary and went out of our way, despite all of the locals telling us to stay far, far away from this 'OBT.' LOL We got the carne asada fries, chicken taco, and cheese enchilada plate. The food was Good! and definitely the closest I've found yet to CA Mexican food. The carne asada chunks were huge, and a little tough to chew, but flavorful. The chicken taco was yummmyy too. The enchiladas were amazing except for the enchilada sauce. It was really tangy, and tasted like it was straight out of a can. :( Big disappointment. We waited FOREVER for our food (like 40 min with only 4 other ppl in the restaurant), but their spicy carrots and onions were free to take while we waited, and brought a humble comfort that reminded me of back home. The salsas were amazing as well, and packed good heat. Prices were just a little more expensive than back home, but that's okay. We had two horchatas as well, and they were a little on the sweet side. Still yummy though. Service was okay. The girls seemed to be hanging out more than doin their job, and they seemed to really let it be known that we looked out of place here. Haha. And like I said, we waited about 40 min for our food...I think there was only 1 chef there or something. Crazyness, but sooo worth it for some good Mexican food. Funny, but that was the highlight of my vacation there--at least in the food aspect. :) Highly recommended.

This is as good as it gets for what it is... that is a Mexican dive with fantastic flavors. Do not come here expecting a world class facility. That it is not, but the food here is very good. I ate here on a Saturday evening and when I arrived I was the only person inside the establishment. The two ladies at the counter were very friendly. Soon after I arrived one other family of three came into Beto's... but we were the only two tables occupied on a Saturday night. I did notice quite a bit of drive-thru traffic. It took no longer than five minutes from the time I ordered, at the counter, to have my number called out. I first tried my chicken taco.... believe what others have said... the chicken is fantastic! The taco shell is crispy... it was well worth the 1.99 price point. I also had the carne asada fries. While its an interesting concept, not a huge fan of fries in general... but the carne asada was packed with flavor! I am not sure I would order it again, only because I do not like fries too much, but the carne asada was out of this world! This is a really great spot for wonderful flavors at a value price point!

The food here is AUTHENTIC and amazing. Like others said, don't judge the place by it's outside or location. The food is very very yummy. We have had many dinners here and even a few breakfast. All were fantastic. I am a big fan or the Carne Asada, the taquitos w/Guacamole, the breakfast burritos and even the pork burritos. Definitely a family owned and run little restaurant. If you are thinking you are looking for somewhere like Chipotle, Taco Bell, or fancy Gringo run Mexican Chain - you would be completely incorrect. If you want REAL Mexican food, then get in the car and go there tonight!

one word.... DEEEEEEEEEEEELISHHHHHHHHHH!!! been on the hunt for some authentic Mexican food and yup... my search is over!! Betos is AMAZZING and scrupdiliupcious! Found it by yelp searching my way thru! Do not get discouraged with the look outside or inside of this location... if your looking for good food this is the spot! so me and my girl decided to pig out and ordered a lil of EVERYTHING: - Chips with Guacamole: DEEELISH! a plate of chips smothered with yummy guac and cheddar cheese... chips tasted reallty FRESH! - Fish Tacos: I am not a fan of ANY fish tacos... but my girlfriend, which BTW it was her first time trying them, LOVED them! - 2 Chicken Taco plates: DEEEELISH AGAIN! chicken was "desmenuzado" just right with good seasoning and fresh tortillas: yes I did the soft taco option. Rice was soft adn beans cooked just right! - Burrito and Enchildada plate: Burrito was ON POINT! however the enchilada wasnt my fav... the sauce and cheese inside just seemed elementary to me. Sauce was almost taco bell style! EEEEEk! All in all this is an AWSOME place for some Authentic Mexican cuisine! Cant wait to go back and try some other options. OH! I almost forgot about their Sauce! WOWWW Spicy! I LOVED IT! The green one is much spicer... just my type!

Quality of service and ambiance is not worth a mention. You'll have Mexican ladies taking your order and struggling with English. Indoor is as simple as it gets and some scary looking people having food there. BUT ... Food is excellent, cheap and available 24x7. My favorite is grilled chicken burrito, which is just over $4. I'd advice you to take the drive thru' and enjoy the Mexican food, which is similar to what you'd get in the west like CA or AZ.

This is another one of those places that falls into the "don't judge a book by it's cover" category. Beto's may not look like much from the outside, and it certainly isn't located in the best part of town, but it does serve unbelievable Mexican food. My favorite menu item has got to be the rolled tacos with cheese and guacamole. It is such a simple yet unbelievably delicious dish. Chopped beef fried in tortillas topped with melted cheese and obnoxious amounts of fresh guac...pretty sick! The chicken torta is also a menu favorite of mine. Really anything chicken there is so good because it is freshly prepared. If you have a late night craving for good mexican...dont be foolish and go to that bell place...do yourself a favor and get some Betos!

Awesome, HUGE portioned Mexican food. Plain and simple. Tacos, so loaded with meat, cheese and veggies, that you cant even see the ends of the tortilla. Massive burritos loaded with fresh refried beans and chili sauces that will leave your mouth burning and watering at the same time. I wouldn't suggest to use the drive-thru. They have a cheap intercom system, a really inconvenient pick-up window and a tendency to take their sweet time fixing up your order. So either turn the engine off and chill, or just park the car and head on inside. Also, the staff can have a little bit of a hard time speaking English, so trying to decipher it through an already fuzzy sounding speaker can be nerve rattling. They're a little off the beaten path, for sure, but it's surely worth it in the end. Suggested over and over again for the adventurous foodie, or the brave tourist looking for cheap awesomeness at the most ungodly of hours!

okay, so my boyfriend and i got to talking about this place one night and decided to try it when we got out of work the next night for dinner. We got there at 11pm and by the crowd inside we figured the drive thru would be faster so we ordered our food (we each got 2 chicken enchiladas, a beef chimichanga, and a plate of rice & beans.) Then we waited......and waited... and at 11:25 someone in the car in front of us got out and were assuming he complained. Then finally the people at the window started giving sodas to the 3rd car in front of us and we thought "hey the lines gonna start moving!", nope. It didn't. Long story short 55 minutes and a free giant mountain dew later we got our food and headed home to Kissimmee. But oh were we disappointed when we began cutting into our chimichangas. There was about 1 weird mushy hunk of beef and a jillion undercooked onions and peppers inside. Yuck. The chicken enchiladas? Strange off colored mushed up chicken inside of a soft tortilla covered in bland red sauce. Total crap. It looked dirty and tasted that way too. Rice and beans were hard and flavorless. Will never go there again. Hour wait for that?! Please, no.

What's not to love about Beto's...Their open 24hrs, great prices, and the food is made to order. I always get the super nachos or the carne asada tacos. If you're a Mexican food lover like I am...check them out!

The breakfast burritos ... AMAZING!! ... Especially the Eggs/Bacon. However, I wouldn't eat Beto's in the morning or for lunch because you won't feel like doing anything after consuming one of these stuffed pieces of unhealthy goodness

I got carne asada fries and a California burrito. Prices are low, but the taste is huge, reminiscent of so-cal. Don't let the look of the place fool you.

I can hate no more! I love this place and all its greasy-ness. I've been back way more times than expected since my last review. I love the staff although I don't think they understand me when i make small talk. They just smile. The food is soo unhealthy but DAM its good. The portions they serve is well worth the price (gobs and gobs of carne asada). Its cheap mexican 24 hours a day. Its on OBT so a 3am run by yourself is not recommended, bring your posse. They lock the doors at night when it gets late so you're going to have to knock. Forget fourth meal at taco bell, Beto's is where its at :D lol! Get the super-nachos, you'll thank me later :D

Beto's has delicious, authentic Mexican food. I recommend their chicken (chicken on anything!) because their chicken is beyond delicious. Its kept in a flavorful stock that keeps it soft and juicy! They stuff the tacos with about a pound of chicken in each. The pulled beef rolled tacos covered in guacamole are so legit! Makes me hungry writing this review! The only real complaint with Beto's is its location and surroundings. Sure OBT can be scary, but the food is worth the anxiety!

As a native Southwester from Los Angeles and also half mexican, I wake up 5 days out of 7 wanting a breakfast burrito. Since moving to the Southeast, that's not something I get very often. Last week I was in Orlando for business and at 3am did a search for breakfast burritos. Beto's came up. I read every single review and cautiously drove into the 'bad part of town' around 9am for my fix. I ordered an egg, cheese, potato and pico breakfast burrito, my husband ordered the machaca burrito and my coworker ordered the bacon breakfast burrito. SO GOOD. Husband also got a chicken taco because we read that they were delicious. It was. But, word the wise it's dark meat only on the taco. It was cheap, GREAT portions and definitely California style mexican food from the few items we had. We absolutely got our fix and will be going back any time we have to head that way. The neighborhood btw is on a busy street with lots of other businesses around it, you're safe.

if your looking for the awesome Southern California style taco shop! this is your place! the burritos are HUGE! great flavor and authentic! a must eat! rolled tacos woth guacamole!

Not sure if you will get shot ordering here, but it doesn't matter, the tacos are worth it. The drive-thru is open 24 hours and you can get some amazing tacos or burritos at this joint. The taco shells are fried in the meal creation process, so they come out hot, fresh and sealed up. The prices are cheap too, and the portions huge. No better place to stop and get some not-so-fast-but-totallty-worth-it-fast-food.

Nasty Food, dirty restaurant. Very Disappointed with Yelp letting us down. Cheese in Enchilada was not melted, Meat in chicken enchilada was more a mystery meat. No good flavor to the food. Really, we left and went to Taco Bell because we were so disappointed and starving. Wife and two kids refused to eat the gross food from Beto's. I hope I don't get Food poisoning.

Sketchy? Yes. Worth it? Yes. If you're looking for California style Mexican, then this is it. 24 hrs, and still Betos. I just found out that there used to be another one in Altamonte, but they have closed down since then, but this is still the authentic Beto's experience you crave. They have a drive thru for those in a hurry, or not wanting to brave the inside, but the food is dead on.

this place looks EXTRA shady, but the food is good!!!!! I like their fish tacos and carne asada fries!! The chimichanga is also very good here. I ate in one time and it was empty. The next time I went, it was dark out, so I decided to do take out because it didn't seem safe to eat there. Their hot sauce is good!! I'd eat here again!

TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY !!!! !! ! 24hrs! of sweet love. Drive up to the jail barred window for drive thru service or go inside, your choice. MASSIVE Chicken Chimichangas with super extra chicken for what, $5? after tax? The horchata is on point. Excellent yet simple pico. I never gush over a restaurant, but I used to drive 35 min round trip out of the way to go to Betos. This place is legit. You need to go here, NOW !!!

Good Mexican food. Definitely in a sketchy area. I am always a little weary when I get out of my car to go inside. Carnitas tacos are really tasty and a good value.(around $2 I think) Guacamole is spread on the tortilla, topped with a heaping pile of carnitas and than some pico de gallo is spooned on top. The Carne Asada fries are huge and delicious. In one container they lay down a bunch of fries and top it with cheese. Next they grill up some carne asada(some pieces can be a little to chewy) and throw that on top.To finish they cover it all with sour cream and guacamole. They have have a Texano Burrito special(tasty and filling) I thinks it around $5 for the burrito and a drink. The Texano burrito is chicken, french fries, cheese, and sour cream.

Right up my ally! A big plate of tasty food for an inexpensive price. Its a sort of hole in the wall type place but glad I found it. I work right down the road so I plan on hitting this place up in my lunchtime rotation for now on. I had the Carne Asada fries and it was pretty dam tasty, and HUGE! The protions are big so dont let your eyes be bigger than your stomache. The burritos are huge as well. My coworker highly recommends their breakfast burrito. Def not the place to visit if your counting calories. Im anxious to try their fish tacos

Killer hole in the wall Mexican food open 24 hours. Burritos are huge, good and inexpensive. If you are a nervous yuppie type, stick to Taco Bell, but if you want good Taqueria style food this is it. The pickled peppers and carrots are really good also. No Booze.

woah. i love this place. the chicken chimichanga is delicccioouusss!!! the chicken in it is sooo flavorful, moist and tender... the portions are big, the price is low. i would have never thought this place would have such good food from the looks of it but i guess it's just one of those hole in the wall gems. btw, this place is in a sketchy area of town, so lock your doors and try to go during the day or with at least a couple people if your going at night. it is open 24 hours but i myself wouldn't go there at night. the other day i went there in the day and there was this scary dude yelling and cursing out a cop, while being barefoot, in the parking lot. there are hookers, homeless, and crazies around this area so be careful!!!!! and i probably wouldn't get out of the car either, go through drive thru...

Going off of Michael's commentary...this is food I'd take a bullet for. Though I've never feared getting shot, I have driven from the Disney area to Beto's at 2am for a craving. THIS is what you want any time of day when you're hungry. The food is really fresh and traditional, and, best of all, cheap but amazing.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
