Tamale has that authentic corn masa flavor I was looking for. Just wish the serving were a bit larger for the $$. This served in an open corn husk is only brownie sized. Ha ha, okay, better clarify! About 3" x 2". Strangest Chile Relleno I have ever had. This comes topped with a sweet seasoning that really needed to be left in the kitchen. Weird-compared to what I'm accustomed to for this entree. Tostada was crispy tortillas with beans and steak, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese. Friendly and attentive staff.

The outdoor patio is open and the large garage door window at the bar was open to the patio. Very cool. The food was good but the service was bad, we sat in the bar and there wss 2 other people. We had to wait for our drinks twice ..and I mean empty ! The restaurant is nice, clean and big I have been there for lunch also and the service was excellent. I hope they stay in Ocoee but they need to hire a professional to train the servers.

Amazing gem! 2 for 1 house margaritas all day everyday! The chips and salsa is to die for! Try not to fill up on them before ur food comes. The burritos are very good and very filling perfect for sharing. Enchiladas are pretty good not the best. The beef tips amazing so tender and so much flavor! Everything taste fresh and made to order! Server was new so it was hard to ask any questions but over all you can't go wrong with this family owned Mexican place!

Family owned authentic Mexican restaurant. The lunch buffet is finger-licking good! The margarita's will make your face melt (in a good way). The cheese dip is soooo good. Carne Asada is always my favorite. If you like Tex-mex, try the chimichanga. If you like authentic, try the Tinga or the chilaquiles!

The best Mexican food in all of Central Florida! Every location is put together and run with great care, dedication, and attention to detail. The food is always fresh, the staff well-trained and always willing to help you. The bar is full of incredibly well-made drinks. If you want heat like I do, all you have to do is ask. They'll accommodate. This restaurant is always on my check list every time I come into town - and it used to be at least a once-per-week visit when I lived there.

My review is based on their AYCE buffet which is filled with various proteins and sides. Their buffet consisted of several meats including steak, chicken and pork. The steak which was cooked fajita-style along with onions and peppers was extremely tender and tasty, it was definitely the highlight of the buffet. The chicken was offered two ways, shredded and in chunks which was also cooked with a mixture of onions and spices. The chicken tasted just fine, it just didn't compare to the steak. There was also a shredded pork which was tasty, however, it did taste a bit too salty. In addition to the meat they also offered rice, refried beans, chimichangas, flautas, enchiladas and quesadillas. As for the condiments, they offered guacamole, sour cream, pico de gallo and a salsa. Other than the steak which was great and the cheesy chimichangas, everything else was average. What would prompt me to come back is the buffet, but I definitely wouldn't return to buy a single plate of their food. What also brings down the rating from being greater is their service. I don't intend to be treated like royalty when dining, especially at an AYCE, but I do expect to be more than just another mouth to feed. Other than the extremely pleasant staff member that fills the food trays, the rest of the staff is just going through the motions.

Great wait staff, awesome service and better food and drinks. Had the house nachos, con mole enchiladas, taco salad and tacos supreme. This place is great! We will be back!

This place is always good. The buffet is excellent - guacamole is the BEST! Prices are very reasonable and they always have drink specials. I come here about once a week for lunch because it's that good! Not to be missed if you love Mexican food!

Food was good this time, had the Cali Burrito and special requested red sauce on top with melted cheese and this part came out perfect. Free chips and salsa always eases the food wait time! Steak was marinated very well. Enjoyed the dinner thoroughly this visit!

This a great authentic spot for Mexican Food. My favorite dish here is the infamous Chicago Tacos, considering I am from Chicago it really does remind me of the Mexican Food back home. I decided to come here on Valentines Day and I was highly impressed. I was able to be seated right away and they had a live Mariachi band. Score!!!!! If you decided to choose the Valentines Special for 2 people it included 2 Margaritas, Ceviche, Steak or Chicken Fajitas, and Tres Leche for dessert all for 35 dollars, Can you believe that? But since I love the tacos so much I got the tacos with, a huge margarita glass made with Patron. Put it this way my Valentines date was with Mexican Food and a Margarita, and I was not disappointed. If you order the steak tacos they are made with fresh cilantro, onions, and guacamole. You are able to have four corn tortilla steak tacos all for the price of 10.99. This place is definitely reasonably priced, and the food is always good.

worst food I've ever had. My nachos were swimming in water, zero flavoring, chicken tasted boiled, even my coffee tasted like brown water. Service was good, but the food was aweful!

A repeat customer for years. great food at great prices! Service almost always spot-on, and the decor and atmosphere is very pleasant. The flan for dessert is terrific as is everything I've had on the menu! Everyone I bring here has loved it, too!

This place is still working out its snags, but it is a great place to grab a bite & cocktail. I've been going to the Clermont location for a while & this West 50 spot now has the same menu (gracias, bebe Jesus). Their Nachos have layered cheese & perfect seasoning with tender chicken oven crisp chips. Least favorite was their new Hawaiian Nachos - it needs a refrag fo sho, but they were so cool about it, they took it off my tab without me mentioning anything (they only noticed I took one bite). Insane HH prices - really great drink prices anytime. Bar service is slow only on pick up, not mixing the drinks. This place is really big, so it seems a little hollow, but it definitely hits the spot on cheat day when you are in the mood for low profile. I think with all the natural lighting in the big space, they would do well with more texture throughout - large scale pieces of art & less pepto bismol pink paint in the loo.

Just love eating here. José is one of the best waiters, if not the best. Fresh ingredients, tasty foods. :)

Their lunch buffet is wretched for a place that has such a great menu. At noon the food was cold and bland. No Salsa Verde anywhere and the 2 sauces they had might as well have been out of a can. The service was horrible and the wait staff has the personality of wet mops. Get rid of, or improve the buffet and focus on better costumer service from a staff that at lease tries to look like they're happy to have jobs, and you might be able to save this place.

Been past this place hundreds of times and never really noticed it. Boy have we missed out. Having lived in Mexico a while back gives me a hope every time I go to a new restaurant. At least new to me... I love chilli rellenos. My son had the Chicago tacos and we were both delighted. The sangria was terrific as we're the house margaritas. It clean, bright, with pleasant folks working there. I will be back!

The food is pretty good. They have all the normal options that Mexican offers. The great thing this place has is negra modelo 32. Oz beer for $5. I come here and sit on the porch overlooking the lake and throw a few beers back. Free chips and salsa too.

Food was so so. We both got burritos. The steak burrito was ok. The chicken in the chicken burrito was dry and stringy. They should serve it with dental floss. Server was really bad. He ignored us and watched a football game on one of the TVs the entire time. Had to ask him for exrra napkins three times. This was our first time here and I am pretty sure I will not return.

The decor is very nice. The service is great. The salsa is spicy, and the queso is awesome. Typical menu w/ a lot of combo choices. Great House margaritas (they don't skimp on the tequila)- happy hour even on the weekends. I had the chimichanga w/ shredded beef- PICA!!

While traveling on business in 2013 I had the chance to have Authentic Mexican in both Juarez Mexico & Albuquerque NM. This is Original Mexican! My wife has been to numerous locations while at work and we have visited the Ocoee location 3 times in the last 30 days. Very Clean! Friendly greeting and the staff is good. We like Martin, he has been our server every time with the exception when we tried the buffet. Even the buffet was great and it was fresh. They are always keeping the buffet neat, clean and presentable. Good food & very reasonable prices!!

First time visitor . Saturday evening with no wait and prompt service . Chips and salsa great but do yourself a favor and order the queso . Perfect addition to the fresh ,warm chips. Timely with our meals and pleasantly surprised with quality and flavor. Most impressed with our waitress Dani who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly . Always smiling and informative about the selections . Very attentive with refills on drinks and just a genuine happy person . Great addition to the overall experience at the restaurant. Chicago Tacos was my selection and not disappointed . Give them a try you will be hooked .

Been come to this place for years. The staff knows us by name and are always very friendly. Had a birthday party at the new location and had a blast! The food is good and the service is always great.

Loud and average. Food was average and decor simple. To top it, the waiter spilled salsa down the back of my shirt and shrugged and walked away!!

San Jose's just opened in this location. The place is sparse inside. I ordered a tostada salad with the steak and my friend ordered a burrito. Was disappointed with the salad which was overpriced. There were hardly any beans, avocado or cheese and tomatoes. It was all lettuce and small pieces of steak. The shell was old. My friends burrito had hardly any ingredients inside other than a lot of lettuce as well. The waitress didn't seem to be interested in serving us. When I asked her where were all the ingredients in my tostada salad she just shrugged and went away. The chips weren't even fresh but I wasn't surprised. Will never come back again.

We've been customers for a long time - recently checked out their new digs, as they took over the old Positano's spot. Lots bigger than the old spot, mariachi band, lots of new updates. The menu prices didn't seem to jump immensely but with the addition of a full bar, I'm pretty sure this is where they hope to capitalize with a michelada price of almot $8. (seriously it's beer and bloody mary mix?) Not thinking we'll be rushing back...I guess I miss the little hole in the wall we once loved.

Met a friend here for a happy hour snack. Definitely did the trick. They had a 2-4-1 on margaritas. What more do you want?

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
